illy Caffè in Kensington and Chelsea

Excellent coffee, cakes, and sandwiches. Nice little cafe, busy with the locals, must be good. Great service from staff.

La maquina de cafè no les funcionaba. Pedimos capuchino y nos lo hicieron con la máquina de desayuno, pero nos hicieron café latte. Reclamamos que nos lo cambiarán y nos hicieran capuchino y tampoco supieron hacerlo . Ya desistimos y decidimos no volver nunca más

We had noticed this cafe before but hadn't tried it until today. We went for a small cappuccino vienoisse which is basically an espresso with milk and whipped cream topped by chocolate. This is not my normal coffee but it was delicious - the very dark roast espresso was perfect with the slightly sweet high quality whipped cream. It wasn't too rich or sickly. At £3.70 it was quite reasonably priced.

On my way to the Albert Hall area I needed coffee and a sit-down and found both here. They have delicious apple strudel and the best coffee as you would expect from the name. Will definitely visit again!

Illy caffè never let you down. Popped in for a double espresso and oh boy that was good! Perfect extraction, perfect crema, delicate and aromatic as it should be. Friendly, welcoming skilled staff. Lovely

Mi stavo recando al Museo di Storia Naturale e dopo aver svoltato l'angolo mi sono trovata davanti questa meraviglia brandizzata "Illy". Da buona italiana a Londra sono entrata subito per degustare il mio caffè al bancone. A prepararmi il mio delizioso macchiato è stato un ragazzo gentilissimo dalle eleganti sembianze angeliche biondo con occhi azzurri. Caffè impeccabile e latte montato a regola d'arte. Ho bevuto nella tazzina di ceramica un espresso, ma è possibile ordinare anche un double, cappuccini e molte altre prelibatezze accompagnate eventualmente da dolcetti. Si può consumare sul posto o portare via nei bicchieri di cartoncino. Come in tutti i locali londinesi anche una piccola cifra come il caffè può essere pagata con carta di credito. Nel mio caso il bicchiere d'acqua è stato omaggiato. Qui una sosta è d'obbligo! Mi auguro che questa mia recensione possa essere utile per te. Grazie per aver letto.

The charmless service is made up for by coffee that is consistently excellent and handy location. We continue to visit regularly and hope that we will one day get a smile :)

Great cappuccino and the staff was friendly. The place is not big, but it was comfortable and the underground station South Kensington is nearby.

This is where you can get a good espresso in South Kensington. From Imperial College, we often come by, even if in our office the coffee is for free.

£4.30 for their small coffee - pistachio/ chocolate apparently. First sip only tasted of oat milk, then I tastes stale chopped pistachios (no place for soft nuts in coffee), then I opened the cup and saw stocky pistachio substance, not chocolate. In summary, tasted odd, cost a bomb and was very disappointing. Paid similar money for hot chocolate at the Harry Potter Studios bur that was worth it. Don’t get conned.

I used to go quite often to take coffee at Illy after my working shifts before the lockdown. I would recommend this place, for the good coffee but especially for staff, always very kind and friendly .

Expensive for a very small cup. Ordered hot chocolate which was barely tepid. I didn't want to complain as the staff were rather sullen. Someone else in the group drank it so it wasn't wasted.

The staff doesn’t speak enough English to take an order without having to repeat everything, doesn’t know the cakes, plays music they like even though their type of clientele suggests not to be interested in a heavy beat music where you can’t hear each other talk. If you’re going to charge 5gbp for a sliver of cake, at least create an experience.

Went to the Illy Cafe in the Park Plaza hotel in Waterloo. In fact, had breakfast there almost every morning. Omid, was a great barista and was very kind. The Illy recipe for an Americano coffee is excellent. Not the usual more than half a pint for the smallest quantity following the minimalised espressos but a decent cup of coffee of excellent taste. The waitress also had a very good sense of humour !...

Awesome café! The coffee is superb. The service excellent. Definitely an embodiment of its Italian heritage. The Starbucks next door is completely eclipsed. Tip: try the small cakes and pastries.
