Il Vesuvio Restaurant in Bexley

Went for a date night with my hubby and absolutely loved it. I had bruschetta, spinach ricotta ravioli and panna cotta . All of them were delicious. Happy Customer. Found my new favourite Italian restaurant ❤️

Nice place, staff really nice, and service is perfect, decent portions and well priced. Unfortunately, food … well, I know British people have really low expectations and they will be happy. Unfortunately for me, I go to a restaurant to eat something I can't do myself better, and I was disappointed. I don't think this is a kitchen problem; it is more likely management, as all ingredients used to prepare food are the cheapest, lowest quality. Therefore, to prepare something decent isn't easy. Salami in calzone wasn't salami; it was ham, the cheapest sliced ham from Lidl or Aldi, etc., and so on and on. Chicken in pasta, not sure if they are buying cooked chicken or they have no idea how to cook chicken. I cook better chicken in 5 min with closed eyes. I would give 3 stars, as food is the reason I go to a restaurant, but I don't want to hurt them as I do realize these guys do a good job for average British person.

Came here for Sunday lunch with the family. Lovely setting and there is parking underneath the local premier inn. Staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the menu and our niece enjoyed the crab and lobster lasagna! Next time we will sample the desserts.

This place is lovely. It's good food, staff are so friendly and professional. The atmosphere was nice, the restaurant was clean and I can't wait to go back. Best tiramusu I've ever had.

Went for a family meal with a large group of 7 adults and two children. The staff were so friendly and attentive, the food was amazing (I highly recommend the arancini balls) the price was very good for such high standards. It was one of the best dining experiences I've had.

I came here for lunch with my friend and we were genuinely surprised at how much we enjoyed the food here. We only meant to order a main but it smelled so lovely that we ordered starters too - and then we decided we had to order a dessert too! I ordered all of my food from the specials menu - the stuffed courgette flower, the crab and lobster lasagne, and the creme brûlée. My friend ordered the bruschetta, carbonara, and lemon sorbet. We couldn’t stop gushing about how incredible it tasted! The staff were also very friendly and service was so prompt - for three courses it took about an hour which is pretty fast.

This was the first time we came here, food and service were both excellent. Good portion and delicious food for all of us. We will come back again. Thank you.

Warm welcome, high chair provided. Swift service. We went early as we had a toddler with us. Crayons and paper provided to keep her happy. My daughter had the lamb which she said was beautiful. Her husband had steak which he devoured. I had a very generous sized potion of salmon which I really enjoyed. The veg was cooked to perfection. The service was excellent. It was my first visit and can see why my daughter and husband love the place so much. The little one also ate well.

Recently visited Italy, and this was identical to authentic Italian food there!! Food was a bit pricy, but the portion size was massive (felt very worth it)! Staff were nice and food came quick. Would definitely recommend :)

We’ve been here a few times now, and despite being a popular restaurant that’s always busy, they’ve always made a table for us, despite not booking. The staff are warm and friendly, and the food is soo good!

This Restaurant really is a hidden gem in Bexleyheath. It was recommended and i have been about 6 times now with my Husband, friends, couples and family. We went last week a group of 4, three adults and one child (my son aged 5). All the food was delicious, as usual, i always get the prawns to start (they are amazing!). My husband had the lamb, my Dad and i both had pasta. My only suggestion would be a children's menu, they had nuggets as a side and also did chips as a side so we ordered them for my son - these were both quite big portions as sides go, i think there were 9 nuggets. However, he tried all the mains, and really liked the pasta dishes and the lamb. I think it would be good if there was a menu for children offering a meal of nuggets and chips or a couple of pasta dishes offered which are child sized. The lack of children's menu wouldn't put me off returning though as it really is a fabulous place.

Absolutely amazing! Such a lovely little find, family run, great prices and delicious food! Came here with my partner for a nice romantic meal and they were so accommodating. The chef even popped out to check how we found the food. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the area! 10/10 We got the scallops to start which were cooked beautifully, then my partner got the swordfish and I got the special lobster ravioli which was so delicious. Then the crème brûlée for dessert was the cherry on top. Thank you very much!

Lovely staff, good atmosphere , two owners are great guys. Gosha, the waiter is friendly and always have time for a good conversation with us. The food is fresh and delicious. Highly recommended. Will come back forever! X

I don't post photos because I didn't have time to take them, everything was so delicious that before I remembered to take a photo the food was gone. A fantastic restaurant, I consider it the greatest culinary discovery in my area. Very nice service, we were invited even though it was Father's Day and we had to have a reservation, I didn't have one and we were accepted anyway. I was taken on a real trip to Italy.

This place was fantastic! Not seen any restaurant in the past 5+ years that could deliver everyone's individual order to the table, for each course at the same time!! Every dish being perfectly cooked and presented. A very worthwhile place to visit. We will return.

Delicious food with honest traditional service. My family dine here often but its my first time. I understand why they keep coming. Highly recommend for families or date nights

Portions are generous. In general dishes cooked with passion. We enjoyed everything we ordered, including the baked eggplant with cheese in tomato sauce, lobster and crab meat lasagna which was rich in flavor, and lamb shank with mesh which was hearty. All in all a delightful experience.

30 members of a club attended... food was hot, delivered on a timely basis without material delay between diners, and lots of positive comments about going again. So a good time had by all.

Terrible place! We came for a dinner with family but were unable to stay as music was too loud.. Update: Seriously? Your food could be good but we were unable to try it because of VERY LOUD MUSIC! There are no points to stay when you can not normally communicate with your family members. If you can not create proper atmosphere - you do not deserve anything more than 1 star. You are "restaurant and pizzeria" not a disco club.

Very enjoyable meal. The food was lovely and very generous portions. The waiting staff were very attentive, even on a busy night. The reason I have given 4 stars rather than 5 are that every other table but us received complimentary limoncello. Also, My Margarita had no sugar syrup in it all which made it far too sharp.

Food very average. My pizza bottom was burnt which ruined the flavour.

Came in on Saturday with my partner and parents. safe to say all four of us absolutely loved the food, service and atmosphere. Didn’t get the name of the lady that served us but she was amazing! the food was 10/10. we are already planning our next meal here.

Nine of us had lunch here today. Some had never been before but all agreed it was a wonderful meal and will be returning. Most of us chose the lobster and crab lasagne from the specials menu and it was amazing, as was the tiramisu! Can’t wait to return!

This is a perfectly good little Italian restaurant. Good food and service at a reasonable price. I have only had lunches there and I find the atmosphere a bit cold but I would certainly go there again.

ordered from their website and picked up on site. I came by car and everything was ready in less than 20 mins. superfast service and true tasty pizzas. these guys know what they r doin, best true Italian restaurant in south east London so far, absolutely recommended, will order again

Had late lunch at this restaurant today ,expecting nothing to special as prices very good, was so pleasantly surprised lovely food, we had steak in red wine etc steak was so tender knife just cut straight through , red wine and desserts great as well staff attentive but not over powering , l can imagine the pizzas here would be very good as well l have already recommend this restaurant to my friends for a “great girly lunch “

It was a pleasant surprise that the restaurant had lived up to expectation when we had a big lunch there this afternoon. The food was tasty and big portioned. The staff was friendly and attentive. Price reasonable. I love the decor too. Needless to say we will be there again soon!

Ordered the Spaghetti alla Carbonara: this is an easy and simple italian dish involving spaghetti, eggs, guanciale (pig's cheek), pecorino cheese and pepper. The spaghetti were overcooked but most importantly, there were no eggs (which give the dish that specific texture), guanciale or pecorino. They used cream instead of eggs, tasteless cooked ham instead of guanciale or pancetta, no pecorino or any other cheese and no pepper. It basically was NOT a carbonara and was tasteless. If the chefs/owners are italian they should be ashamed if themselves!

Was there last night 7 of us. Staff very helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit. Def go agsin

Food will be great if they put less salt as we found our pasta and other dish quite salty. Staffs were so busy and fast moving. It was hard to catch one of them.

Lovely atmosphere, lovely food and very attentive staff. Didn't wait long for food even though it was Mother's Day. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and it will be our family go to place for celebrations.

Visited for Mother's Day. Good service & food is good in the main. Only criticism is the garlic mushroom starter needs better presentation- half mushrooms instead & add herbs? Pollo Milanese also needs a sauce as bit dry with just chips. Strawberry & lime cheesecake was zingy & delicious!

We have been to Il Vesuvio twice and both times we have had a great meal. I cannot fault the ambience, the friendly staff and the amazing food.

Took my wife here for a birthday lunch. We couldn't fault the place. Staff was very helpful and polite. The food was amazing and we will be returning for my birthday. Would recommend to anyone.

Love this place a real gem hidden away! Martino and his staff are attentive, and friendly. Nothing is ever a problem, or too much! never had a bad meal.

Came here on Valentines night, such a good vibe with live music. Food was good and staff are friendly and excellent hosts. We definitely will be back.

Friendly staff but each staff member seemed to have just a few too many tables in their section as it was hard to flag down our server but other staff were happy to take our orders. I ordered the ribeye steal. It was okay but nothing amazing and certainly not worth £21.95. I asked for medium and there was zero pinkness. Aside from that the drinks were great as was the Tiramisu.
