We visited as a table of 8 for a works do. Great food, portions are huge and everyone's meals were tasty. We all had starters and mains with drinks and it was very reasonably priced. Service was fast however could be a bit more friendly and remember to smile. Other than that would highly recommend to visit

We booked a table for 8 people for 7.30 , by 8pm still hadn't received our drinks. The restaurant had only 3 other tables so clearly wasn't busy. I had to ask the 2 staff that were present for our drinks or we were going to leave. 15 minutes later we all had our drinks apart from my husband. After asking again they now don't sell the lager he had ordered. We decided to leave at this point. After sitting there for 45 mins and they couldn't get us drinks we decided not to risk what the service of the food was going to be. Such a shame as the restaurant looked great but the staff clearly didn't have a clue. God knows what it would have been like if it had been busy. Needless to say we will not be returning.

We started during lockdown with take away but have since been 4 or 5 times to the restaurant. The food has been superb every time. I don't do vegetarian as a rule but their vegetarian pizza is to die for. We've had pasta, pizzas, chicken, steaks. All have been really good. Chicken is 4 cheese sauce is my favourite main course but all their pizzas have been are delish too. Staff are lovely and excellent service too and tables not crammed in like some places.

I visited today for some lunch, the restaurant was quiet which meant the staff were very attentive. I ordered the salmon linguine based on the waitresses recommendation and I thoroughly enjoyed this. The lunch time offer is definitely good value for money as the serving sizes are generous. The restaurant is new and so all the interior is very modern. I look forward to returning again in the future.

Had birthday meal here with friends on Friday. Food was fantastic and large portions. Service was great, the two ladies who served us were brilliant. Would definitely recommend Il Sole and will certainly be back.

Please give this place a go if you were thinking of trying somewhere different... this used to be max max it has had a full refurb and looks fantastic inside. The menu is extensive and varied and the portions are enormous. So much so we took almost our entire main meal home and not because it wasn’t delicious, because it was. It was outstanding!! The service was also just as good. The waitress was attentive and polite and had a smile on her face at all times that seemed genuine. It’s Authentic Italian and we will definitely be visiting again.

Absolutely fabulous. Hadn't been here since the restaurant has been nicely renovated & changed it's name. The food was really delicious and service was second to none - especially Fabio! Friendly, eager to please and attentive. Would highly recommend the creme brulee (with gorgeous homemade biscuits) and the mussels - nice to have them in a proper, creamy and flavoursome sauce. Will definitely return!
