Il Padrino in Gravesham

This little restaurant has made our night, no where in Gravesend is as authentic as this little place, tucked away by the side of Woodville halls this place saved our night. We had no where to eat most places where dirty or full, this place was a beautiful quiet place for me and my partner to have a really romantic date ! Pizza was amazing Starters are just the right size And the staff are so friendly and just nice people to talk to Please give these people a visit if not for food, just for a drink at there bar and to enjoy the amazing unique decor.

This restaurant is the best the workers are so kind. The cook was nice a friendly as well as funny talking to us while he was cooking are food. 100% need to visit the food is also very good and need to try.

Not sure where to start, awful experience from beginning to end. Waited 30 minutes for our drinks and this was a drama, incorrect drinks and people were missing a drink all together. From the photographs, you get three balls of Arancini for some reason we were only served two and ordered two portions. Chicken main was uneatable, over cooked, dry and chewy. My husband ordered sea bass and this was deep fried 😩 we have eaten this all around the world and it was disappointing. I had a nibble on a few starters but for my main I had the scallop and prawn ravioli. Unfortunately 2 hours after I arrived home I was throwing this up. We did complain regarding the service and standard of food and this did not go down well. Zero atmosphere for the first hour of waiting, there wasn’t even any back ground music on very strange place. Won’t be returning.

I had the most amazing time at this beautiful restaurant with my family on the 10th September 2023 , they made my birthday really enjoyable, the food was delicious and the staff were amazing thank you so much for a wonderful experience and we will come again x

Everythings great! It almost like visiting a small local restaurant south of Naples. The food is great. Especially the lasagna! The make great aperol spritz! Tony and his Family were very open and kind… and don’t forget Luigi (if I’m not mistaken) on the kitchen authoring the food! We’ve had great time there

As an American from New York this place was such a delight to visit. The service was astounding and the food was so fresh it was like a slice of Italy on my plate. Highly recommend supporting this amazing local business with some amazing people. Hope to be back!

A truly amazing little restaurant. Family run and obviously done with so much love. The owners daughter was our waitress and the level of service was fabulous, what a lovely lady! The food is beautiful, cooked with care by a clearly talented chef. We had a wonderful night!

We had a wonderful evening at II Padrino's last night. The staff were friendly, welcoming and made time to talk to everyone. The food was delicious and freshly made at the restaurant. We did not wait long for our starters, mains and desert, despite the restaurant being busy.The menu ranged from pizza, pasta, meat and fish dishes, with vegetarian options. The deserts were gorgeous too. There was a talented singer who added to the relaxed ambience of the restaurant. Definitely worth a visit.

A disappointing experience. As a vegetarian I received a meat pizza which had to be returned then when they brought fresh pizzas the other order was incorrect which meant we had to wait for a third meal to come out whilst I ate mine.

Excellent food & very good service. Will definitely visit again soon.

I moved to Gravesend from States few months ago and was looking for a best pizza place as I'm a huge fan of pizza, tried few places here and in London but didn't really find a pizza place which fits my taste buds :). Very recently I walked into this place without much expectation, but was welcomes by Antonio and his Dad (very friendly folks) and then comes the pizza, it was truly amazing - This is the go to place for me these days for a great tasting pizza. - Thank you!

First time using this lovely restaurant but unfortunately due to COVID restrictions it had to be order and collect. The three meals ordered were on time , delightful , tasty and well presented in their takeaway packs. Friendly family run restaurant and will be using it again , particularly when can eat in . A very pleasant change from the usual Fish & Chips , Chinese and Indian take aways during the restrictions.

Fabulous food, great service, ambience, and the live music was an added bonus.. Top Italian restaurant. Be back soon.

Absolutely fanatic place! It's our family's favourite place to eat in a 20 mile radius. Such a hidden gem. Amazing handmade pizzas. The staff and the owner are just wonderful to the customers. They make us feel like family every time we come in.

Me and my husband came here for our first dinner out since lockdown and we had a lovely time! Waiting staff were attentive and followed Covid rules. Food lovely, next time I'll order pizza though as I was quite jealous of other people who had ordered pizzas as they looked great!The sauce with the mussels was so flavourful I really enjoyed it

Been here a couple of times and am always blown away by the experience. My partner and I are both vegan and they have many options to accommodate! Not to mention the vegan pizzas are possibly the best pizza I've ever had. Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, lovely atmosphere, couldn't recommend enough!

Couldn’t fault the service, waiting staff were attentive and engaging. Sadly though they were let down by the kitchen, although the starters were nice, the main courses were poor. Do not recommend the seafood risotto, undercooked rice and a few bits of frozen seafood, awful. The pasta dishes were edible but questionable whether the pasta was fresh or pre packaged dry pasta. Although we never had one, the pizzas looked nice. We read good reviews for this restaurant and was disappointed, will not be returning.

My wife and I spent our first wedding anniversary here and what a great evening we had. Service was impeccable, food was delicious and they really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home. The live music outside was absolutely brilliant! I couldn’t think of anywhere better in Gravesend to spend an evening. We will definitely be going back!

We went to this restaurant on the off chance even though it was very busy they found us a table, so many choices on the menu ,the food was of a high standard hot and plenty of it the beer choice was a little limited but apart from that a very nice meal.The staff were friendly and helpful.well worth a visit.

We’ve been here several times with family and friends and have always had a lovely meal. This weekend we booked for 20 of us on one of their special live music nights for my husband’s birthday and it was fantastic. The owners couldn’t have done more to accommodate us, amazing service and for such a large group and with lots of other tables to take care of, all the food still came out at the same time and was just great. So lovely to have a genuine local family run business with fresh, home made food and such a good atmosphere. We loved it and will be back again soon! Thank you to all the staff for making sure we had such a great night.

Was really sceptical at first but was blown away by the quality of the food. You can just tell how it's 'the next level up'. Really tasty and delicious food. A real asset for Gravesend.

Have been a few times and the service is excellent, but the food is just out of this world. Do not expect domino or any other chain type food. the atmosphere is also great, have spent a couple of very nice new year eve celebrations here and can thoroughly recommend.

Highly recommend! Everything was delicious. The whole family was happy. Pasta, pizza, grilled vegetable starter, good for vegans too. Really good food, so tasty. Children were happy too.

Again ilpadrino never fail to deliver. Food just gets better and better. Service is outstanding and friendly. Nothing is a problem and you always get a smile.

We eat at many restaurants throughout Kent and London and to say Il Padrino is our favourite wouldn’t be a lie. You will not get closer to the real deal Italian at its best anywhere locally. I thought we were popping out for a quick pizza...we ended up having a beautiful meal: stone baked pizzas, carbonara, lamb shanks &amp; chicken with pancetta. Absolutely fantastic the best italian I've ever had

Found this little gem of a restaurant by sheer chance. Warm, welcoming and friendly from the very start. No rush to get us in and out again. Owners came and had a chat with us at the end of the evening - it was like having dinner at a friends house!Fresh food made to order. We had the full 3 courses followed by coffee (and then liqueurs to finish!!) Without a doubt, we will be going back again.

Went for my sons 21st birthday treat. Very quiet for lunch time but owner, waiter and chef were great. Service first class and food was delicious.

A1 I have visited many times as a couple , with freinds and booked this time the whole venue .this restaurant is run by freindly helpfull family who’s attention to quality and service is unrivalled ,no matter if your a solo dinner or a group of people celebrating an event ,some nights have a live singer and others nights are with just soft background music .italian based menu ,food is prepared and cooked from scratch using family recipes,apart from the main menu which changes seasonally they have a specials board of dishes not in the menu . The whole experience is worth a visit weather you frequently eat out or a once a year dinner you will not be disappointed.

Easy relaxed atmosphere. Food always good. Vegan options always available. Lovely friendly restaurant to enjoy with friends and family. Music nights worth going to.

Great little place, so friendly and excellent pizza 🍕

Visited the restaurant on a Friday evening, very inviting from outside and even more so upon entering. Service was perfect, nice live background singer and guitarist and just the perfect setting for a cosy couples date. Food was amazing full of flavour. Will definitely be revisiting as didn't want the evening to end there. Overall perfect restaurant for any occasion

We regularly visit this restaurant. However just when we thought things couldn’t get better they have. The food is amazing. The staff are more than helpful. We always leave here happy. Would certainly recommend. New added feature they now have a singing chef and he is amazing. Well done Il Padrino. We will be back.

Living outside of the area used previous reviews on TA and decided to try this restaurant. Was not disappointed. Welcomed as we entered and shown to our table. Good choice of starters along with some specials and good choice of pasta and pizza dishes. Freshly cooked and tasted fantastic. Very friendly staff and attentive. Although this was our first visit it will not be our last. Thanks for a great evening.

If you like pizza then you will probably be fine although far too much olive oil is put over the pizza by the chef before it reaches your table, my daughter's was drowned in it. My husband doesn't like pizza so ordered pork ...not a great meal at all. The atmosphere is fantastic & they are a lovely family.

My first visit to this restaurant last night and it most definitely won’t be my last, really enjoyed my time there, the staff are super friendly, it’s family run, food great, really enjoyed our experience in this restaurant and looking forward to going back and working my way through the menu!

Fantastic food and service, real Italian atmosphere .

We saw this restaurant on Tripadvisor and were not disappointed. The food ( pizza and risotto) were excellent, and the staff very friendly and welcoming. It’s a small independent family-run restaurant and so much nicer than the chains in places like Bluewater. We will be back next time we’re in the area.

Fantastic, friendly service from the staff and knowledgeable on ingredients in each dish. Seafood, especially the prawns and langoustine are so tender and tasty. All the salads that I’ve tried are fresh and full of flavour. They also do a great Merlot!

Came here as my mum and dad say it’s so good on many occasions , me being a head chef of high calibre restaurant for a world renowned chef . we no longer expect great great food . But this food is good the vongole absolutely delicious generous portion , and then I liked the sound of the menu so order the pork belly as well both meals great I will definitely be back very soon .. great job to tony and chefs was a pleasure ..

Il padrino is the epitome of family, very welcoming friendly and cosy, this was our second visit and we have booked for the music night, it really doesn't feel like you're in Gravesend at all and the food is delicious Kerry and Steve Sales

By chance we found this little Italian and we couldn’t praise it enough. The ravioli with scallops was delicious as were the homemade breadsticks. The tagliatelle Bolognese was good and the daughter of the owner serving us was a delight. Definitely worth going to and also very good price. The wine choice was excellent. Even the house white wine was really drinkable. All in all a great evening

This restaurant is a little gem in the middle of Gravesend. The food has always been well presented and very tasty, the staff are very welcoming and cannot do enough for you, the vibe is very chilled with customers always leaving with a smile. Go ahead......book a table.

We are regulars here. Really authentic Italian food. Staff are at amazing and nothing is a problem. This is Gravesend’s best restaurant. Entertainment nights are awesome. This is our happy place.

Had so much fun on our work Christmas doo. The restaurant were fine with us having a quiz that we had organised for staff and were very embracing of the dietary needs of our staff. Pizzas were amazing!

We made a visit on a Saturday evening when there was live entertainment. This added to the fantastic atmosphere at il Padrino. All staff were extremely welcoming and were always smiling. The restaurant has amazing culture and it feels as though you are in Italy. The owner was present on the evening and he greeted guests at their table to ensure they are having the best experience. It is clear he takes great pride in his restaurant and this is apparent with the food, service and decor of Il Padrino. The service goes above and beyond and we were able to enjoy a special moment together thanks to Il Padrino. The food is very reasonably priced and so are the drinks. You can not compare this local gem to big Italian chains. We will definitely be returning in the near future. A must visit.

We have visit d this restaurant several times, our last visit was for our daughters 30th Birthday on a Sunday, there were 4 adults and 4 children,Tony and his staff made us very welcome and the food was amazing, the children loved the food and they gave the children a Nutella pizza as a dessert, Rey happy children.

My daughter wanted Italian food for her birthday before visiting the escape rooms. I hadn't eaten in gravesend so searched for the best restaurants and thankfully TripAdvisor did good. The food was amazing (and my hubby is super fussy) the staff are so friendly. Bringing extra potatoes when they noticed that I was sharing my meal with the children. They even surprised my daughter with a birthday sweet pizza.... nice touch!

The BEST Italian in gravesend area by far excellent food (try the seafood lasagne) and wonderful staff apart from pricey drinks list all in all good place to go to

We had an absolutely amazing time at il Padrino for my birthday! The staff were hilarious and super friendly, and the food was absolutely DELICIOUS! We will definitely be back very very soon; couldn’t have asked for anything better!! Highly recommend others to visit.

This was our second time here, the food was as amazing as we remembered. We had the Arancini to start, this was enough for us to share the one dish, it was probably the best arancini I have ever had. For my main I had the same dish as before I had been thinking about it for a while and just needed to have it... it was Penne Pollo con Funghi this is the most amazing dish ever. I’m not a big mushroom fan but this is incredible.

A friend had recommended so I thought it a safe bet, but as soon as we walked in (OK, it was mid-winter and a cold night), another customer said “Keep your coats on”...they were so right! It was freezing! And there was a pervading damp smell, possibly coming from the log pile decoration in the alcoves which was distinctly unstylish. Two staff on the night were welcoming but service was decidedly haphazard. Food was OK...they do have an authentic pizza oven and I can’t diss the pizzas but the pasta looked so-so even though my friends said it was good. When it came to whether we wanted a dessert and we weren’t sure, the waitress said “What star sign are you?” - just weird! And when I mentioned it was cold, the reaction was a bit frosty: It’s 20 degrees! It so wasn’t! Can’t really recommend - we certainly won’t be going again.

The worst people that have ever happened to me in my entire life. Double-faced, liars, stalkers, cheapskates and even unreliable. I reported these people on 4 charges. Not recommended.

Absolutely Brilliant! Restaurant was open specifically for us as it was my 18th and they don’t usually open on a monday, this was so nice as we are out of town so not friendly with the staff so they clearly did this out of their own hearts! A table with birthday decorations was set up when we got there which again was a lovely touch. Food was brilliant, HIGHLY recommend the pizzas and the staff were very friendly and helpful! We brought a cake with it being my birthday and the staff were happy to accommodate this which was great as i we they were aware it meant we wouldn’t be buying dessert and the meal and drinks for 5 of us came out to less than £100 so very good value for money, especially factoring in the service, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone based on the lovely food and the ‘further than the extra mile’ staff!

I phoned the week before and asked to book a table for 5 for my sons 18th, I explained we were out of town staying the night near by and read the reviews on here.

The place is fantastic!!! Highly recommend. Staff care about you like you are their friends/family, you can tell that it’s really important for them to make you happy. Pizza tastes like when I been in Rome, next time we will try some pasta I’m sure it will be good as well. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful place

I booked il Padrino for my Birthday and we visited on the 30th March. There were around 14 of us in total & we were sat right in the middle of the restaurant on a long table.
