Visited from Wales. Very friendly and welcoming with excellent food and service. Went twice and would definitely recommend a visit.

What great service!! Fish and chips were delicious! And so was the doner kebab! Reasonable prices too! No done in .. take away only

I have ordered a delivery order several times before - the oap fish and chips option for two and always paid by card. I phoned tonight to order the same and was told they don’t take card detailed over the phone as it takes too much time, I told him I didn’t have cash in the house. He was then allowed to take my order. But then told me we couldn’t have the oap option delivered. I’d have to order the normal fish and chips. Obviously I didn’t go ahead with the order. So that’s two customers they’ve lost!

This is my local fish and chip shop, I’ve been coming for years. I had a fish meal today, the fish was cooked fresh and really delicious as usual. Service is always excellent!

Food arrived 20 mins ahead of estimated delivery (Just Eat), which was great! 2 large cod ordered and they obviously didn't have what they felt constituted 'large', so each box of fish contained 2 good sized pieces! And '2 medium chips' was ample for 3 adults with healthy appetites. My cod roe was delicious, too. Will definitely buy from here again.

Have used this F&C shop many many times, always perfect. Sunday 24/5, delivered (a first for us) and just as always, fab, and right on time with polite driver. Money in envelope, bag for envelope, simple, no worries.

Just ordered some lunch today 20/4/20. Ordered medium chips, large sausage, steak and kidney pie, a fool, chicken and mushroom pie, and a donor wrap. £16 The food came on time, it was still not. The chips were hot, they were ok. My steak and kidney pie was Pukka make, I was expecting chunks s of steak and kidney, but it was more mince than chunky meat, it was ok, but not much taste to it. The sausage was ok. The lamb donor came in burger bun, it was ok . Overall, the food was average, but value for money. Thank you to the driver for delivering to me, in this unsettled climate we are in at the moment.

I appreciate there is a national crisis going on. But I stood in the cold waiting for my fish and chips for 30 minutes today whilst I watched the workers about 2 cm away from each other prepare my meal. My fish was covered in loads of batter and there was minimal fish. What fish there was didn't taste fresh. The chips were rushed, pale and not nice at all. Would not recommend after a long days work in a prison.

Have always had good meals from here. Nothing to much for boss man good customer service delivery always on time . Highly recommend.

We’ve had many a fish&chips and tried ones from all over. Surprisingly this little shop in Ickenham tops the lot! Thin crispy batter covering a fresh and light body of cod or haddock. The standard is always great. No soggy batter and no oily or greasy fish! The chips are a medley of shapes and sizes to suit everyone’s preferences. Crispy exterior and full of flavour! It’s all cooked on demand so incredibly fresh. 8-10mins and the wait is all over! Great customer service, always delivered with a smile. Keep it up!

We have a couple of gluten free friends which makes it very difficult to cater for them. I rang Ickenham Fish Bar yesterday to enquire if they could provide gluten free fish and chips and was told if I rang this morning to confirm they would be able to. I rang about 11 o’clock this morning and ordered 2 gluten free cod and chips, one normal cod and 2 skate and chips to be delivered at 1.30. The food arrived on time, all very hot and very fresh. The gluten free dinners were packed separately in boxes making them very easy to distinguish from the normal dinners. Our friends thoroughly enjoyed their dinners, commenting how clean it all was and not greasy, and how large the portions were. We have often had the skate from there and always found it hot, fresh and perfectly cooked. It is also very reasonably priced. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant

when this place opened it was magnificent but as soon as they won that award it went downhill have tried it again and again because its local and im a bit of a sadist ,greasy small cods , really greasy tasteless chips, looks like a cost cutting exercise cheap potatoes cheap oil cheap fish weird orange batter no wonder it was empty on a Saturday night and pies that have sat there for a week very very disappointed and that was your very last try,i would rather be hungry.

No complaints ever - good portions, fresh fish and always perfect. Our local regular for once a week at least.

Used to love this place but found a long black hair in my food.... girl behind the counter needs to wear a hat! Never eating here again. Disgusting

Fish is cooked fresh to order, and comes out nice and crisp. Got home and have to say was lovely soft white and flaky. Owner/manager friendly and chatty. Heard they do delivery which I may take up next time to avoid the rain.

We usually have two small cod and one portion of chips. The small cods would be large in most other fish and chip shops and the one portion of chips is large. Real value for money and a tasty meal.

the standard has gone such a long way down since it opened, got a pie and chips yesterday the pie had been under the hot plate for so long the filling had dried up and the chips were all black and greasy last chance im afraid will not be returning seems they made the effort to win the award then sat back on their laurels food went down hill from there.

This place does the best fish & chips I've had in ever such a long time. Just enough batter and real Cod steak, no shrivelled thin wafers.

Big bag of chips at a very reasonable price. Very friendly and quick service. Food didn't last long, so hungry. Lol.

If they're still serving food that's been reheated from lunchtime at 6.45pm, I think they should be making customers aware or reducing the price - not nice!

Have been coming here for years and always have the most delicious fish and chips - can’t get the same quality for anywhere else nearby. You don’t need to wait too long, even when it’s busy and the staff are very friendly. Can’t fault it!

I reviewed the Ickenham fish bar two years ago but a colleague of mine told me that it had got better recently so I tried it again.

Fish bites fabulous, fresh and tasty. Chicken popcorn yummy (my kids love these) . Chips always good

Best fish and chips i have eaten ...... i had heard from friends that i should try Ickenham Fish Bar so now kicking my self that i did not go there sooner !! You would be crazy not to check them out !!

You have to wait but my fish and chips where cooked fresh and where perfect. Definitely my favourite fish and chip shop now. Highly recommend.

So if you are looking for fish and chips in the ickenham/ruislip area there are a number of options open to you. I have used the Ickenham fish bar on numerous occasions with little complaint as the food is fresh and the staff helpful. However over the last few months it would seem portions are shrinking with prices rising. Today a medium cod and chips cost £6.80 which on the face of it is pretty reasonable for such a meal. However when the "medium cod" is in danger of being intimidated by an average sized minnow it becomes less reasonable. Try Aquarius fish bar nearby for excellent value for money and a more accurately described meal. I would like to point out that the Ickenham fish bar has polite and helpful staff and clean surroundings, my only issue being their "the one that got away" fishermans fish sizing system.

This is a great find. The staff were very friendly. The fish was cooked there and then as were the chips as it was late lunch time. They were over generous on the chips. . Highly recommend.

We are a regular at this restaurant typically buying fish and chips at the weekends. The fish has always been nothing less than excellent, with just the right amount of batter and the chips are very good too. The service is friendly and the establishment is clean and bright.

Been here a few times. Perhaps slightly pricey but their staff have always been friendly to me and the chips are quite good so I'll definitely go back. Their curry sauce is lovely!

For a village fish and chip shop, we are lucky to have Ickenham Fish Bar.Always great value and the chip portions are so good, a portion will do two people.Fish is normally freshly cooked.

I visited this fish bar after a long day out with my family.I was over charged for my order and when I asked the young lady behind the till if I should have been charged £16.20 for small sausage and chips and 2 piece chicken and chips she showed me the receipt for my order and in a cocky and rude tone she told me that that was the correct price.When I told her that I did not order half the stuff on the receipt that she was shoring me she called the manager over who then after a five minute argument finally agreed that the price was wrong and he gave me my money back.I can understand mistakes being made in a busy fish bar like this but when I got home and opened the chicken for my young daughter it was over cooked and dry as a bone.It was so over cooked that it was brittle and I could snap it in half like a breadstick.The sausage was cold and floppy but the chips where nice.I have added a picture of the chicken to show you how over cooked it was.I will never visit this place again and the young lady who works there needs some training.

Visit here on a regular basis and must say that the food never disappoints at all. The only downside is that it's addictive.

Nicest chip shop I've found in the area. The owners a bit crazy but the fish and chips taste good. I like that the fish gets put in its own box so it's not stuck to the paper and your chips

We use this place, once a week now, had previously fallen out of love with "chippys" - not anymore. Hygienic, great quality fish and staff that our proud of their place of work and the product they serve.

Have been a few times great food hygenic place always looks like its a brand new shop even to todays date. Food is always great with friendly staff and the owner himself always has a friendly chat with all the customers top recommendation 5/5 stars for this place

I have had fish and chips from here as it is very near to where I live and found it to be quite average.I know that it's a matter of personal taste and thats the truth but when I asked for a large cod and then waited 10-15 minutes while they cooked my fish.When I got home I found the fish to be very nice but over battered and it was the tail end of the fish (quite flat) making it very thin.I prefer Hutton's at Hillingdon circus (Long Lane).

I absolutely love this place! I've always loved fish and chips but since having their fish and chips, nowhere else even comes close! Everything is cooked fresh to order, not too greasy and well worth the wait. I live around the corner and get dinner from here almost every weekend. Very busy on Friday and Saturday nights but you can phone ahead and order. The fact that it gets so busy is testament to how good it is. I would highly recommend this fish and chip shop to anyone. Good portion sizes - I always order a small cod and chips and usually struggle to finish it!

Very happy they have come to Ruislip and Ickenham. Convenient stop on the say home from the West Ruislip station. Great quality fish and chips, friendly staff and always spotless. HUGE portions at a reasonable price. Good burgers too. They are a great addition to the area.

Have visited Ickenham Fish Bar on several occasions now and its simply great. I've eaten in the small but well refurbished restaurant and have had many take aways, always fresh & delicious. Can be a bit busy on Friday Evenings but well worth the wait. Great to have such a top notch, 5 star rating, award winning chip shop on my doorstep.
