ibis Styles Birmingham NEC and Airport in Solihull

Stayed the night for the Twenty One Pilots shows. Lovely room, staff are amazing, friendly best hotel experience I have ever had. Few notes about the room will need some renovation as there was few problems such as bleach stains on the carpet, unable to open the winder due to missing lock / handle. Other than that I had a amazing Night 👏👏

The hotel is ideal for visiting the exhibition center, but the rooms urgently need renovation. The carpet and walls were dirty. The push button was missing on the toilet, and there was a garbage dump under the hotel window. It's the worst IBIS Styles I've had so far.

After making a double booking in error, i was in panic mode. However Helen (lovely Irish lady) very kindly helped me sort out my issue. She also left us a little pressie in the room which was very much appreciated. The rooms were clean and comfy will be staying again :-)

Very positive experience from the moment we checked in. We were able to charge our car which was a great bonus and means we will be back! Lovely comfortable bed and spacious room. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Great stay. Check in is amazing so helpful. Bar and restaurant....... worst I have experience in a long time. 1 hour for a club sandwich, which was dry, and tasteless.

We had an excellent stay at the Ibis Styles. Everything was perfect: the warm welcome, the quality of the room (spacious, clean and well equipped), as well as the meals and breakfasts, copious and tasty. The staff were very pleasant and attentive throughout our stay. The location is also ideal, with quick access to the train station or the airport; Birmingham city center less than 15 minutes by train. The only small point of improvement: better signage of the pedestrian crossing allowing access to the station or the airport from the hotel. In summary, a very good experience that we highly recommend!

From arrival to departure our stay was excellent. We checked in earlier than supposed to, the room was clean and very well presented.

My 2 friends and I shared a family room which was spacious with 2 double beds and 2 sofa beds. When I put one of the sofa beds out, it was a little cramped in the space. However it was relatively comfortable and reception was helpful and responsive about obtaining linen. Staff had made up my bed whilst we were having evening meal. The room was located next to the gym which made it a little noisy initially but this settled down. The overhead lighting was bright but the bedside lights were easier on the eye.

Food - Tracey and staff made sure that our group (about 40) had a hot dinner when we arrived. They made sure our needs were met with a wonderful selection of food. Thank you!

Hotel close (15' walk) to the airport and the Birmingham fair (NEC 10' not even walking) Good service, clean and large room (123) Clean bathroom. Sufficient breakfast. I had a good lunch. Excellent beers. Friendly and helpful staff at the restaurant. For work, given the proximity to the fair, convenient hotel.

Excellent location, excellent value for money, simple rooms and essential amenities

We booked the hotel last minute as an alternative to airport parking. We decided, due to a very early flight, it would be easier on the kids to use the hotel. Unfortunately this meant booking 2 rooms however when we arrived they had allowed. A family room to have an extra bed in so we were accommodated in 1 room. Absolutely great. Sensible and common sense! Thank you 👍🏻👍🏻

Right near the NEC, clean with a good breakfast all you need in a budget hotel

Great location- close to Birmingham International Train Station and the NEC. It's about a 10 minute walk which us clearly marked. Restaurant and bar service was very good and the food was delicious.

As an independent travel agent my family and I were taking a long weekend away and chose to stay in the Ibis styles hotel. It was lovely with modern decor and we had a family room which the hotel were kind enough to upgrade us into a larger one with x2 double beds. The breakfast was beyond our expectation as the quality was very good for the usual buffet and continental. The staff were always willing to help and we didn’t have any issues during our stay, and would come back for more!

10 min walk to the BP Pulse Arena. Room was spotless and comfortable. Tracey in the restaurant was a ray of sunshine on the rainy morning, going around asking if everyone was OK and in need of anything. Vegan Sausages cooked to order and tidy coffee. Will definitely stay here again if going to a concert at the arena.

Carpet in the room was messy, bedsheets had discoloration. Everytime we went came back in our room after a day out the AC was set to 22 degrees celsius and you are unable to set it lower than 20, same thing happened in the middle of the night. During check-in an employee was complaining about the amount of people that were coming that day, not the nicest thing to hear on your arrival.

I've stayed in cleaner rooms for the same price. I don't mind if the rooms are old, but I do expect the sheets to not have dirt spots/make up on them.

On arrival and the first evening we thought this hotel was OK to great. Check in quick, room OK, food and staff in the bar/restaurant good. This opinion quickly changed. The skirting boards had a good layer of dust on them in the room, minimal hanging space, no drawers and less tv choice than our basic freeview at home. Despite us being the only 2 at breakfast at times, there were tables waiting to be cleared and the 2 members of staff were only interested in gossiping, usually sat in the rear room out of sight.. The counter was covered in crumbs, dropped jam and never once wiped in the nearly 2 hours we took over a leisurely breakfast. At most there were 10 guest in at a time including a family whose 2 children of approximately 9 and 10 were allowed to play chase/tag around the restaurant - totally unchecked by either parents or staff (when they deigned to appear)-not very safe when people are carrying around hot food and drinks, and not conduicive to breakfast. Nowhere is it made clear about full menu food times and we were disappointed with the very limited menu available up to 5pm - no use when the event we are attending is 6pm in the nec. Also not helpful when room qr codes give you a much wider menu with cheaper prices for the remaining same dishes and staff excuse is the menu has been changed and not updated online. Compared to other ibis styles we've stayed at, this place is a total let down, room and staffwise, with clear management and communication issues.

Checking in was quick. Room was nice, clean and warm. Not as spacious as I had hoped, but good enough for one night's stay. The highlight was the shower, which was warm, powerful and the provided shower gel was lovely. The check-in staff were nice, but the bar staff were very warm and welcoming. Ordered some food and it good, but with other restaurants only a 20 minute walk away, it might be worth visiting them.

A lovely hotel but the restaurant and toilets weren't great. They need more staff on to clear tables, clean floors and check the toilets.

OK hotel for the price, but it‘s dirty. The hallway carpets have stains all over, and the room I was in could have used a deep clean: Stained curtains, carpets, coffee spilled onto a wall, detached body wash bottle in the shower, …

Rooms clean and fresh. As its winter we had to have the heating on full, which worked well. Comfortable bed and nice size room. Bar too expensive, but they have a captured audience as there is no where else to go when you stay here. We used it as part of a leisure time bus trip to Birmingham to watch strictly come dancing, so wasn't our choice. Breakfast was include, help yourself buffet style, plenty of choice,but not hot enough as these places tend to be. Nice coffee.

Stayed at the NEC Ibis Styles while exhibiting at The Running Show, and it was great! The rooms were comfortable and well-kept. Special shoutout to Raveen and Hubert at the bar/restaurant – their service was exceptional and made our stay even better. Highly recommend!

We are currently staying here ahead of our flight tomorrow, we have come down to dinner and the staff as so friendly and truly can’t do enough for you. Tracey has been wonderful, engaging with our little girl and all round so friendly, she’s a credit to the organisation!

Well located for NEC, Birmingham International Airport and BI Train station. Good facilities with comfortable rooms, gym, well stocked bar and good choice of food. I have tried most of the menu and have rarely been disappointed. Excellent, friendly helpful staff which is the main reason that I keep going back.

A few minutes walk from Birmingham International station and you arrive at this small but perfectly formed hotel. Friendly reception staff, comfy bed, good breakfast selection. And close to Birmingham NEC and Resorts World Arena/BP Pulse Live. What's not to like!

Stayed before we flew out via Birmingham.. excellent location, and a simple well priced model with car parking.

Came here for a business meeting, rooms warm, clean and well equipped. Didn't eat in the hotel as ate out. Breakfast was filling.

Second time I’ve stopped at this hotel staff are lovely rooms are brilliant. Only downside when I say this time? There wasn’t much food in the restaurant. They had a lot of stuff out of stock which was a bit disappointing so I had to order a takeaway. Definitely will stop here again.

Easy self check in online, helpful front desk staff, well located for the NEC centre. Plenty of parking (although you do have to pay). Pull out sofa not the comfiest of beds but did for the night.

Our stay has been amazing. I feel I got lucky with our room location as we had alot of cases this time round for comic con. Great location for going to the nec. Tracey has made us feel welcome everytime we come down to the restaurant she always made sure we were okay.

Just arrived for the first time at this hotel. We normally stay at the Crowne Plaza. And we would like to say congratulations Ibis for having such amazing staff working for you. Well done guys!

It's alright, not bad. Breakfast was pretty good. They had an (announced) power cut from 11pm to 1am because some 'essential works' needed to be done. They didn't tell anyone about it until that evening though (my 2nd night staying there), which annoyed the hell out of me. Especially as they refused any kind of compensation.

I stayed for two nights whilst visiting the NEC. Its a 15-20 minute walk through the NEC to get to Hall 20, it would be closer for hall 1. Mostly inside walk. The hotel itself has onsite parking but it's cheaper to park at the train station and walk across. The Ibis Styles is more upmarket than the nearby Ibis budget. The room was spacious and modern with good amenities. It was clean throughout and I'm fussy!! The hotel was full and I overheard someone asking for another pillow and they were told there wasn't any! You only get 1 each. I ate in the restaurant one evening, it was basic, you ordered your food at the small bar. The food was nice though. I'd happily stay again.

Honestly one of the best hotels I have stayed at for work. On Day 1 of 6, Helen could not have been more helpful, she checked me in early and made sure my car parking was sorted out The restaurant staff were truly spectacular, we were a tricky bunch (all had room allowances for work) and they helped out fully. The rooms were comfortable, and the house keeping team were so amenable to our requests On day 5 of 6 I had a massive migraine and so text the helpline number, the team could not have been more helpful ensuring I was adequately hydrated and in my opinion went above and beyond. The one negative was the beside lights only came on when the big light was on, but in the grand scheme of things this was a tiny issue. I would rate this hotel 9.5/10, well done to all, but special thanks to Helen who had a smile and a kind word every day I ran into her

Lovely hotel, friendly staff. Room was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was amazing. Fabulous choice, spotless and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they worked non-stop, especially Tracey who made the experience the best start to our holiday. Would highly recommend the hotel and the breakfast!

Wow never stay here before at the ibis styles when for breakfast in the restaurant the staff are excellent the lady who looked after us was a lady called Tracey you are a credit to the company can't do enough for you.i will be defo staying here again thanks Dawn & stewart

Staff were friendly upon check-in. Two key cards provided. Loved the convenience of location to Birmingham NEC - it really is only five minutes walk, however once you are in (entrance via stairs, near the train station), be aware it could be 10-15 minutes extra walk to where your event is being held. NEC is so much bigger than I thought!! Paying for parking at the hotel is a bit of a shame (should be included in the price), but was similar in price to the other NEC car parks (£15 per day). Room was well decorated and clean - including an iron and ironing board as standard. The air con didn't seem to make any difference during the night though, so it was quite warm and stuffy (stayed in August). When we kept the windows open during the day, the room cooled down, but it smelt of aviation fuel, which wasn't great and I guess was due to the hotel's close proximity to the airport. This didn't affect our stay. Food was okay. Breakfast and dinner was as we expected for the type of hotel. My son and I loved the free table football!! Overall a pretty good stay and value for money.

Had a decent stay here on the night before an early morning flight from Birmingham Airport. Hotel was clean and we had a really warm and friendly welcome. The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. They were a little dated and could have done with a bit of TLC. But, we got a great deal and managed to get two rooms for less than the price of one at most hotels! As somewhere just to put your head down for a few hours before an early start at the airport, we would be more than happy to stay here again. It's maybe a 10 minute walk maximum to the departure lounge. It was also a very quiet hotel considering where it's located. Didn't hear any aircraft noise, and also, we didn't hear any noise from other guests.

This was a perfect stop over on way home having been on a flight into Birmingham Airport. The rooms were ready and were immaculately clean. Shower gel and conditioner provided. The breakfast was superb and Tracey even arranged for poached eggs as not on the buffet. How I had missed my full English and this was a good cure for my craving - Bacon, sausage, mushrooms, hash browns, beans, coffee and not forgetting my two poached eggs. So if you have a flight into Birmingham and need a stop over over or a pre-stay you won’t go wrong with the Inis Styles.

Great location for a late flight arrival to Birmingham airport. Parking was £15 extra which wasn’t specified upon booking. Breakfast was included however with a good timescale to use for that and a wide selection on offer. Tracey was especially helpful offering for fried or poached eggs to be cooked to order as well as organising some takeaway cups for coffee.

Breakfast to die for, and bright, clean rooms. Thanks to Tracey for her friendly service at breakfast time. Gluten free options were well provided-for, too.

Super pleasant stay, staff can’t do enough for you! Tracey at breakfast is so lovely, gives kids lots of time and attention. She gave the kids an activity book, pencils and a chocolate bar each which was so nice! Breakfast was lovely, rooms are pleasant. Ended up with free parking too due to a technical error, was no one’s fault but was a really lovely gesture and was not expecting it! Would absolutely stay here again!

Chef Narinder created some delicious vegan options for lunch as well as options for meat eaters. The cauliflower wraps and roast veg skewers were fabulous and enjoyed by non meat and eaters alike. Thank you

The hotel is very nice and only a two minute walk from the NEC. The rooms are clean and lovely. Only complaint is the food which was served for breakfast, which was subpar for the price we paid for the room

Staff were great and very friendly. Room was functional (although air con was not working). Food at the restaurant was very average, and the hotel struggled with volume of people ordering food. I was told on 2 occasions it would be an hour wait for food.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by Helen who looked after us so well for the whole of the weekend. The food in the bar was very nice and reasonably priced on the evening. The breakfast was also good too. Tracey really was a great help at breakfast time, especially one morning when we were in a hurry to get away and she helped us to get what we needed. We look forward very much to staying again in the future!

Dinner was lovely and very fast. The service in all aspects was great. At breakfast was great and there was a lovely woman called Tracey who was so helpful and sweet! All staff were great, room was clean but the room needed a little TLC. Perfect for one night though and so handy to the airport.

Went for a work day with colleagues and was ok. Meeting rooms are abit dated and lunch was average. Just make sure you go to the right Ibis as there are 2 hotels within 3 minute drive of each other. Was ok.

Great staff, and a check-in where my disability was recognised and catered for. Food not too bad, BUT: The thing about sticky toffee pudding is that it is meant to be sticky, with toffee sauce. The sponge, that is. A cube of dry sponge with some small 'artful' streaks of toffee sauce on the plate is not STP.

Unfortunately the air conditioning in the room was not working on a hot day and windows were unable to be fully opened. Small fan was provided, didn't shift much air. Very disappointing considering room was good size.
