Just a basic entry level hotel , nothing special at all. The room had a distinct smell of what we know now as WEED, the entry cards failed and reception had to reboot them countless times, definitely better options around!

Ideal location in city centre for my needs. Very reasonable price. Breakfast choice very limited, no bacon first morning and egg choice only scrambled. Bar had 11pm close on the Friday, however the majority of guests were there for a concert that finished just after that time, you missed out on a bit of bar takings that night. Room windows could do with being replaced, as lot of road noise and draughty. Overall suitably covered my needs and would use again, but could do with a little push on food choice and maintenance.

Our group of 33, checked in on 27may25, ard 7pm. Despite being a 3star hotel, the whole checkin/meal serving, made us felt very welcome. The GM (Mr Patrick) has no airs at all, he came and guided us to the reception level, helped us to use the lift for all our luggages. He even helped his crew to clear tables/serve food etc. His team and him were all very hospitable and smiley. Wonderful experience! Will definitely stay here again if i have a chance :)

Was not happy as we had booked two rooms, and both of our rooms on the first floor were knocked on at 2.40am with people running away laughing - several times over the following hour. We stayed with our young children - it was quite scary. No phones in the room so I had to google the number to call down to reception as I was not going to leave my room with a 4 and 8 yr old in it.

Good value for a quick night stay. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean and the building was quiet. The parking lot is small, but we were able to find an open space after coming back from dinner.

On arrival we couldn't find a space as there were only about 12 spaces for the whole hotel and had to park at a local car park that I had to pay for and ended up getting charged a huge amount for! The staff didn't seem interested other than taking my money, we went to the room that had all the essentials. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. We didn't sleep that well but that was due to how noisy the other guests were during the night. When we were leaving, we went to reception and asked them what they wanted us to do with the key etc; they said just chuck in the box whilst they had their backs turned to us and didn't even say goodbye or thanks for staying. We won't be staying there again.

Be careful, the hotel staff allows you to park in the car park, but then you receive fines via the rental company for parking! It’s theft, and of course no one wants to help you afterwards! Hotel to absolutely avoid!

I didn't actually stay here, I had booked this for delegates, but they told me rooms were brilliant, clean neat and tidy, service all around from cleaners to reception team brilliant and friendly. Location to city centre was a bonus for them to local shops and eateries. Breakfast was good and they were happy that they could bring their own food in to eat and felt extremely relaxed, a thank you to all the team there, especially Patrick, Maria and Anna,

We were booked into the Ibis for a work trip and unfortunately decided to find alternative accommodation shortly after checking in. As other reviewers have flagged, the hotel is being used by authorities to accommodate people with nowhere else to go, including people with complex needs. This is a necessary service but travellers must be aware of this before booking. On arrival, two uniformed police officers were attending an incident on our floor and we did not feel comfortable staying or leaving our belongings at the hotel. The rooms are small and dirty, and the ‘bathroom’ is a circular cubicle similar to a train toilet. It is not a good hotel for business travellers. No issue with the staff, who understood our concerns and said there would be no problem cancelling and refunding our stay.

I'd give this a 4 star review because it was your bog standard room but the room came with a complimentary breakfast which added to the experience.

The room was very comfortable and the location suited us well. We had some problems with overpayment due to the hotel not being able to access their booking.com account which was stressful for us as we already had stresses going on, but the morning team, headed by Marina, sorted this out for us.

I've seen some very negative reviews about this hotel, but I completely disagree with them. While the Guinness may not be the best I've ever had, the staff more than make up for it. Amit Chondehoke and the rest of the team provided exceptional service, making this budget hotel a standout choice.

This hotel is not in a good location. The car park is extremely awkward to get in and out of, and only has a few spaces available. Due to the location I did not feel particularly comfortable leaving my car there overnight, but due to the cost of parking nearby, had to take the risk. To get into the hotel, you essentially enter a dingy basement, and have the choice of stairs or the lift. The rooms are extremely dated and cramped, and not clean. The carpet in our room was stained, and a previous guest had left a contact lens on the floor and this was not removed. In addition, the bathroom sink was dirty, and the shower didn't fit into the wall-mounted holder. The room was on a busy corridor - we later learned from reviews that the hotel is being used as accommodation for the unhoused. This may have contributed to the noise in the corridor throughout the night. Due to the small room size, the peephole in the door can be used to see the entire room including the bed. I covered this before we went to sleep as I did not feel this provided adequate safety or privacy. The bed was hard, the pillows flat (only one spare in the room) and the room was extremely loud and warm. Opening the window lead to a small increase in noise (the window seals were degraded), but the air conditioning didn't work, so this was unfortunately necessary. On one side of the building is a busy train station - whenever a train moves, the noise is so loud it makes the room vibrate. On the other side of the building is a busy road which is noisy all the time. I won't be booking in an ibis hotel again based on this experience. We recently visited a Premier Inn in another city which was half the price of the ibis room, but near-perfect in comparison.

Overall, the hotel itself is nice. Rooms were spacious, clean and simple but all you need really. Downfall was that we weren't made aware that this hotel was unfortunately being used for the homeless and others in need. No review prior to booking had any comments made about this situation so I believe it's only come into action this year. Being woken up at early hours of the morning to shouting along the corridor, not what you expect and should have been managed accordingly not that we heard as it went on for around an hour. I understand you get what you pay for and for 1 night away it wasn't a bad price but the overall first impression of the hotel wasn't the greatest. Not that I'm 100% against helping the homeless and those in need but I would've reconsidered where I was booking as it's not something you expect when booking a room in a hotel for paying customers.

Rooms are quite small but not too bad. Got to site and they couldn't find my booking. Took a good 20 minutes and 3 people to find it which was a bit of a pain. I've been trying to contact them for over 4 weeks now to get a VAT invoice and no one answers the phone or the e-mails. Terrible service all round from them.

We visited Bobby's Restaurant in Leicester yesterday and, as always, ordered our favourite dish – Bobby's Special Chaat – with our usual request to exclude the green (chilli) sauce. This has never been an issue in the past, whether for dine-in or takeaway. Despite the restaurant being largely empty – with only a small group of young boys preparing to leave and a couple packing their leftovers – we were left waiting for quite some time. I even had to remind the lady at the chaat counter that my car parking session was about to expire. When our order was finally served, there was no polite greeting or gesture, and disappointingly, no serviettes were provided. What followed was even more upsetting: the food was overwhelmingly spicy, packed with red chillies (powder) far beyond our tolerance. It felt as though the recipe had been changed altogether. We’ve enjoyed this dish many times before without the green sauce and never experienced this level of heat. When we asked the waiter whether the recipe had changed, he simply said no. Unfortunately, we couldn’t eat the food and had to leave most of it uneaten, walking away with a bill of £24.75 and a very disappointing experience.
