Where do I start? Dirty cutlery, cheap ingredients used for breakfast , beans and tinned tomatoes served cold, 1 mushroom on my plate, and to top it off we had flys all over the place, disgusting! Furniture & floor falling apart, tables looked like they hadn’t been wiped for weeks just awful. My first breakfast I hadn’t finished this week, only good thing about this place is the price. Not friendly service and had front seats to a heated conversation between a member of staff and another person in the back.

Disgusting place orders wrong was complained at when ordering about the orders from the lady that works here she has no customer service manners shouldnt even work in hospitality. Should have stayed at home and cooked for free rather than spend 4.00 on a microwaved n frozen breakfast. The place was heaving with flies never again will i visit this place the high hairs werent even clean they were sticky. I wouldnt feed their food to my worst enemy however the man that works here had better customer services only leaving 1 star because it wont let me leave a 0

The place is dirty and unwelcoming. The man cooking was sneezing in the kitchen. A course on food hygiene wouldn't go a miss. Cooking, sneezing and eating at the same time. Eating a sandwich at the same time as buttering toast and handling uncooked / cooked foods. No apron. Touching hair and face then returning to cooking. Disgusting. Tables, walls and floors dirty. No napkins. We will not return even if it was half the price. Truly awful.

when we arrived the tables were horrendous, covered in salt and other condiments spilt all over. I don’t know how this cafe is still open, the floor was slippery and what was left of it was ductaped toghther. My brother and father thought they were doing a rendition of torvill and deans boléro because the floor was that greasy. The lady who served us was very aggressive and had a raised voice, we didn’t seem to see the chefs bum crack but he did microwave something in a lurpak butter container which may have been beans. When the food arrived my elderly grandmother was enquiring where her egg was on her breakfast when the female worker barked and I quote “ I can see the egg right thur”. The cutlery was also very dirty and looked as if it had been licked clean, the tray which you collect it from probably hadn’t had a wipe down since the pandemic. The sofas were being held together with tape and most of it was falling apart. We did look but couldn’t find a hygiene rating but based off the other reviews we have read it seems to have 1 star. No wonder why it isn’t displayed, all in all the snap wasn’t bad but the service, hygiene and cleanliness was awful. Fearne - age 11

Absolutely disgusting, how the local authorities haven't shut this down is beyond me, Went for a breakfast as from the outside looked ok, wow wasn't we wrong, went and ordered drinks once we saw the kitchen area decided against the food sat down, The place is filthy walls all need disinfecting, food matter and drinks down the walls, sticky tables, ripped furnishings. The floor is a trip hazard well what's left of the floor wow mabelthorpe you do show your true colours allowing this establishment to stay open. I am guessing food hygiene rating is 1 and health and safety inspectors do not attend this place.

No allergy awareness. No communication skills. No hygiene. No good customer services. Specifically told her my child's allergies numerous times, specifically said no butter, she watched me check ingredients and yet she failed to pass my child's allergies onto her boss who was cooking the food. My child's meal came out smothered in his allergens. She could have killed him and she simply didn't care, I was told if I didn't like the service I shouldn't eat there. I got a refund but she also banned us.... like we'd ever actually return!

A very tatty cafe but it was clean. Great value for money. We had a bap with 3 rashers of bacon in it, a bap with 3 sausages in it, a mug of tea and a mug of coffee for just £5. Unbeatable

Absolutely appauling don't go near this place please, went in here with my husband and two boys, my youngest has medical needs and is currently getting assesed for autism, the lady who works there actually swore at him and said she couldn't waiting to go home how disgusting, the place also looked dirty so we said we would just leave it. But please avoid this place like the plague.

When we walked in the place looked terrible, ripped and tatty seating, old masking tape holding the sofas together, in desperate need of a clean and a paint. We thought we would give them the benefit of the doubt and have a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich, which in all fairness was very nice, however, the staff couldn't muster a smile between them, and I got the distinct impression that they would all rather be anywhere else but serving in there. There was no uniforms or protective clothing worn by the staff. The cook wore dirty jeans with his bum crack on full and proud display. He also wore a black t-shirt that did not look like it had been cleaned in a week. This said t-shirt was also several sizes to small for him, the hem of the t-shirt came nowhere near the belt of his jeans, thus, his extra large belly was also on permanent display. The food preparation area was a mess and although it looked relatively clean I think cross contamination would be an issue. The door was missing off the back room/store room and it looked like someone had thrown a grenade in there and then legged it. The prices are very very reasonable but the owners/staff show no pride or observance of hygiene standards in the cafe.

You wouldn't believe this place could exist, just like something out of a sit-com. Ian is an amazing sight, looks as if he really belongs on a building site - beer belly and a 'builders bum'. Absolutely hilarious. The regulars obviously love the place and are a pretty amazing bunch too. The freshly cooked breakfasts looked good and people were tucking in. Prices are amazing value. We just had coffee, latte and americano for just £2.75. Can't give it more than a 3 for food and drink, but scores a 5 for entertainment.

Im not one to moan as myself in the hospitality industry, but...... the place is filthy i can understand why the 1 hygiene rating isnt advertised. Kitchen has seen better days the cook looks like he needs an apron, the woman who served us needs to learn manners. We entered in all good faith to order food and drinks but ended up only having 4 mugs of water ( tea) in chipped mugs. The woman as i was going to order food with raised voice said WAIT IM DOING TEA THEN YOU TELL ME THE FOOD. I then said its ok we are only going to have a drink. Im glad she said wait as gave us time to assess the cooking area. Kitchen looked as dirty as the cook himself. A covid screen hung infront of the till to stop infections id presume as long as you dont touch it!! There were had written signs on the floor advertising food and a broom which im sure wouldnt even accommodate a witch on her homeward journey . The dirt embedded in the corners would go unnoticed as the dirt at eye level left a lot to be desired. The tops of plug sockets stuck on dirt and edges of tables sticky not even skirting board on one wall and a kitchen that had doors missing. All in all a memorable visit not be forgotten. A pot of paint a new broom and some industrial cleaner wouldnt go a miss

I can’t fault the food here it really is great value for money. But the way the lady was reprimanding her staff in front of customers was appalling. We’ve been a loyal customer to this cafe over the years but our most recent visit has really put us off coming back. If you need to scold your staff then do it in a back room not for all and sundry to hear it!!! It could also do with a facelift as it’s starting to look a bit tired inside.

We asked some locals where the best place was a decent breakfast in Mablethorpe. They recommended this gem of a cafe. Full English £4, super sized one £6.00. I had the supersized, and the rest of the family went for the normal one. Wow! The food was great. We will definitely be eating here for the rest of our stay.

When in Mablethorpe we usually pop into Ian’s for a lunch as it has a certain charm to it or rather I am of the opinion that if Basil Fawlty had given up on the hotel malarkey, this could well be him in spirit. The chap who runs it, which we assume is the Ian in the name of the place, has about the same approach to dealing with customers as Basil did at the hotel. His delivery both in food and speak is quite something and quite a character in the nicest possible way but for all that, the word ‘real’ fits him a treat. We have patronized this eatery since he set up shop a few years ago now and each time we have had good food, served hot as it should be, good service from his assistants/waitresses as well as the all in cabaret of Ian himself being himself as his plain laid back farcical expression is worth the price of the meals alone. It’s not the Ritz, doesn’t pretend to be but it delvers food that we find edible, drinks drinkable but most of all, wonderfully priced plus the occasional, perhaps unintentional, comedy slung in for good measure makes it an ‘experience’ in itself.

Great place to eat, friendly staff and quick service. Everything is cooked from fresh here nit pre cooked and warmed up. Excellent prices and decent portions, Try the small all day breakfast consists of two sausages two hash browns, two bacon, egg,, beans, mushrooms and tomatoes , in generous portions for less than a fiver. If you feel really hungry go for the Large breakfast for a couple of pounds more. They also serve dinners which are reasonably priced, and bacon or sausage batches with a hot drink for two pounds, very good value for money if you just want a batch.Inside is clean and tables wiped with regularity, tables are both inside or outside or you can have food to take away.Staff are clean, tidy, polite and well mannered.Once you have eaten here you will probably return when visiting mablethorpe. Better than most other cafes in mablethorpe.

Arrived in Mablethorpe at 3.40 today, Bank Holiday Monday only to find the premises in total darkness, despite lots of people around. The shop looked like it had been closed for hours despite a lit sign on the window saying open. On the website it does say open until 6pm but on a Sunday this as happened before & the premises were shut at 3.45pm when we visited. It's an 100 mile trip for us & we enjoy visiting this cafe but we feel he should review his opening times on his website.

This cafe was like something you see on Only Fools and Horses. The Chef had a fag behind his ear, touched the bin and then the food. People next to us had Coronation Hair Sandwich!!! My husband put his fork in his breakfast, then had it whipped away from him n given to another customer, we found it funny coz otherwise we would've kicked off. We stayed coz we just couldn't believe what was happening n the fact that we were starving, however my sausage was cold in the middle so didn't eat it, n didn't say anything coz we'd already waited an hour. It was busy yes, but that's coz the prices are so cheap. Apparently it has improved, by hiw much i don't know coz i will NEVER step foot in there again!!!

You get a lot on your plate 2 bacon, 2 sausage, egg, beans, toms, mushrooms and toast for £3 tea is 80p, my husband swapped his sausage for black pudding. The quality is not good, the black pudding was rock hard. They could do with more tables as sitting on a sofa to eat breakfast is uncomfortable!!!! We felt like we were sat in a vets as there must have been at least 5 dogs in this cafe - not good. We prefer quality to quantity. We won't be back
