Slow delivery. Small portion of soup. Stir fried Satay very bland but large portion. Chicken, ginger and spring onion given a thumbs up by other half. Wouldn’t order from the m again.

What a fantastic restaurant.my wife and I drove over an hour to get here and it did not disappoint.staff very friendly,super attentive to clearing tables getting orders in etc.food was delicious and served in small portions so you can try abit of everything.will definitely be back

Pathetic. I was looking forward to this on the 25th. I ate from here, once before. At least over a year ago, and the food was great. This time, terrible. Honestly. Not enough chicken, nothing like it, in the Sweet And Sour Hong Kong style. Mostly just nearly raw onion and some peppers and about 3 bits of pineapple, in a really watery and mostly tasteless sauce. Plus points where great service and timely. Also, the veggie spring roll portion size was great, even if it didn't come with any sauce to dip. The price, for what the main was, in the end, was just not acceptable and the quality was well bad. They are off my list of the foreseeable, and I just live around the corner. That's rather annoying. The picture you can see all of the chicken. And that's on a bed of rice. And the vast majority of the veg didn't make it to the plate.

I had Christmas Day dinner at IChai tonight with my family. The food was great (all 3 courses) and the service ran like clock-work in a lovely atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

Delicious food and excellent service

Lovely little restaurant, 17 of us booked for dinner here and some had off normal menu and some chose tapas. All food was amazing! Every single person enjoyed their food. I had tapas and it was really good, curry, chow mein, and ribs where really nice. The seaweed is the best I have tried.

Went for the Tapas night. Food was top-notch! Very quick to serve and food came out in no time. All dishes were really nice but the Beef & Mango with Peking Sauce was my absolute favourite. Already booked to go back twice in the next month.

We got a delivery tonight and have to say that the king prawn curry and sweet and sour king prawn were absolutely superb. We try and use businesses close by and having had a poor experience recently with our usual choice of Chinese food we reverted to getting another delivery from here and give it top marks.

Wonderful food and lovely staff. The Dim Sum was delicious as was the chicken with garlic, wine and ginger.

Scored one star as our meal was binned in the Morrisons Carpark bins as this “restaurant” are unable to provide any cutlery for takeaway orders. No good for people staying in hotels nearby. No good to us - won’t be back.

Whole time there spent waving away fruit flies .tapas was good until chicken curry which was a mixture of soft chicken and lumps of hard chicken. Been there a few times and food has been good but between this and the flies means we won't be back. Would be good if they could have the spiders webs on ceiling cleaned away

Chicken satay, chicken chow mein, fried rice, chips, black bean sauce. Chicken satay very disappointing. Have had this so many times before but well off the mark tonight. Dried out. Too much msg, tell-tale throat feeling. The prices here are just about acceptable if the food is good, but it wasn't tonight. Disappointed.

Visited for lunch and was very disappointed very small and cramped, tables close together. chose meat spring rolls for starter not much meat mainly bean sprouts for main meal chose sweet and sour chicken and chicken curry . Sweet and Sour chicken very few pieces of chicken mainly peppers and onions chicken curry very watery sauce few pieces of chicken again mainly onions rice was nice . No one asked if we enjoyed our food did say to waitress disappointed wasn’t interested only interested in quickly getting bill paid won’t be back.

A dish of chicken balls,(7.00) curry sauce (3.00) & fried rice(3.10) £13.10.....shocking.....don't dare order from here.

Wow I usaly don't eat Chinese because either the chips are soggy & to salty in sauce 2 spicy only issue I had was not receiving prawn crackers usaly if you spend of £10-15 so that's my only faulty about this restraunt the food was roasting hot the chips were livly salted & vinegar the chips were nice & crispy the chicken fried rice was freshly cooked and the bbq ribs were to die for even my nearly 4year old daughter managed to enjoy eating it with the same will be ordering again and have recommended all ready

This is the best Chinese restaurant I have ever been to,the food is delicious and the vegetables spring rolls are amazing. The staff are very helpful and pleasant,and the kitchen staff work very hard to serve their delicious food, I would never go anywhere else.

Ordered delivery salt and chilli king prawns and the food was... inhumanly salty. Like 3-4 table spoons of salt dropped on each prawn. One could feel the salt sitting on each prawn... Similar to chips and chicken. Otherwise food was OK, but impossible to eat due to the quantity of salt. Very disappointing.

Best Chinese food I've had. The chow mein in particular was amazing. Portions were huge. The service was brilliant - staff are so friendly and accommodating.

Went here tonight (Monday) for the tapas menu. It’s been 2 hrs since we left and we’re still full and raving about how delicious it was. Colin and Hannah were our servers and couldn’t have been more professional, polite and well mannered. Colin even surprised me with a dish when I couldn’t make my own mind up. There were a few tables full and the atmosphere was lovely. I think most people were having the tapas menu which was £18.90 each and unlimited although only ordering 3 at a time to save it getting cold and to save on food wastage. 3 of us left absolutely stuffed and with a drink each and 2 massive portions of chips we were only £70 compliments to the chefs

I use to really love the food at Ichai but I feel that the food and customer service has gone downhill recently. I have ordered takeaways and sat in the restaurant. I feel that the food is much better quality when you sit in the restaurant. With takeaways, there has been several times where I have ordered vegetarian food and they have sent food with meat in it. When contacted about this on phone, they either ask you to come back to get the correct item (however I am already home and too far away to travel back) or they just ignore your messages on Facebook. The correct items that I have received in my takeaways recently are not the same quality or standard as they use to be. This use to be my favourite restaurant and takeaway but I think I will be avoiding in future.

Been going for years but recently the prices up, quality down! Chicken satay was one of the saltiest things I’ve ever put in my mouth.

I entered the restaurant to ask for a takeaway as it states on their website they do ‘takeaways’ however I was greeted by a very unhappy gentleman who clearly did not want to be there who stated ‘We don’t do takeaways, try down the road!’. I appreciate if the restaurant do not offer walk in takeaways, however the staff could inform customers that they can simply order online to collect rather than turn people away!. Clearly, some of your staff need some customer service training.

I was really looking forward to trying the restaurant since I use the takeaway on a regular basis. However, it was okay. I’m not disappointed but feel let down. It was extremely pricey and definitely overpriced for the quantity and quality received. Rice comes in a small bowl and is just not enough. I was expecting something a bit more special than we got. The wine list is good. Sadly I won’t return to the restaurant but I will continue using the takeaway as the food is so much nicer!

Nice food but please 🙏 .. the heat of the Satay sauce is just far too hot 🔥 which means you cannot taste the nice peanut sauce. Dial the heat down a bit because you actually lose the peanut taste with all that heat! Burnt my mouth unfortunately which is really unpleasant.

First and last time order. Incorrect item delivered so called to advise, thinking they’d just sent the correct item and problem solved. Was told as it was their fault, they’d credit the missing item against our next order.. I said the missing item was fried rice which we ordered to accompany our main, so that wasn’t an acceptable solution. After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing, was advised the entire order could be uplifted and refunded. Asked why they couldn’t just deliver the fried rice and was told i’d need to speak to a supervisor. Long and short; was told to leave the untouched incorrect item on doorstep (which we duly did) and they’d replace it with fried rice. No apology, no suggestion to keep the incorrect item for the inconvenience, no offer to refund the missing item. Just made to feel like we were being a nuisance, when we simply wanted the food we ordered. Ichai; we appreciate mistakes happen, but in our experience you’ve a lot to learn about customer care. Verdict; when we were finally able to eat, the food was barely warm and distinctly average, so unfortunately won’t be ordering again.

We haven't been here in quite a while but we were a bit short on time and didn't want to travel too far for a quick lunch, so made a lunch booking as it was quite nearby. It is such a nice restaurant inside..,, nicely decorated and well laid out. We arrived about 10 mins early and were informed that they weren't open yet and to wait outside... I explained that we had my very elderly mum who had severe mobility issues and they relented and said we could sit at the entrance until they opened. The staff were pretty helpful after that and even helped mum to our table. We ordered various starters :- 1. Chicken & sweetcorn soup - it was very good- thick & creamy with plenty of chicken. 2. Chicken noodle soup - this didn't have much chicken & it was pretty bland (had to add quite a bit of soy sauce to give it some flavour. 3. The veg spring rolls were not the greatest either - they were those tiny wee mini ones again, pretty tasteless -- and again needing plenty of soy sauce to give some flavour. The mains weren't the best either :- 1. Chicken & mushroom -- pretty tasteless and had more onion than chicken or mushroom.. very disappointing. 2. Breast of Chicken curry - it tasted ok - except it wasn't a breast of chicken, it was cubes of chicken. 3. Beef curry ... the beef was a bit chewy and certainly, nowhere as nice as I have had here previously. We all had fried rice and this was the worst part of the meal ---very bland, quite mushy and over cooked... we found a hair in one portion. We quietly pointed this out to the staff when they were clearing the table... but they didn't seem very interested.... just nodded and continued to clear the table. A bald chap (I believe may have been the manager and/or chef) came over - lent over the back of the booth we were sitting at and very quietly said (whispered) that he had been told we had found a hair in one of the portions of rice and we acknowledged that this was the case... at which point he just said, " we'll obviously it wasn't from me" whilst pointing to his bald head. A bit taken aback by this, we just agreed and asked for the bill. So disappointing for what was a pretty good restaurant.

Has so went down hill recently!! Ordered peking spare ribs - was lucky if there was meat on 2 of the tiny pieces of broken up ribs I was given. The main meals were ok, albeit half the portion of any other Chinese restaurant, my satay had about 4 pieces of chopped chicken & my bf curry was the same. He then ordered a portion of salt & chilli chicken balls on their own & was charged £13.50 for them!!!! He was then charged 50p for a bag to take them home with him. Will not be back, the prices are ridiculous for the food that is served !!!

Found this place by luck when passing through. It was so good, I can't wait to go back. Even if I'm at the other end of Glasgow, I'll be making a visit. I had the tapas which was a 1st for me (Great idea). I got to try lots of different dishes. Looking forward to eating here again!!!!

Early dinner and first time in the restaurant. Great value. Really lovely friendly staff. Food was delicious. We had soups, chicken curry and Hong Kong sweet and sour chicken. Banana fritter for dessert was the best ever. Thank you!

I recently visited this restaurant for a weeknight dinner with my family. The restaurant was quite busy, with all the tables being occupied, and as a result, we faced a wait of approximately 30 minutes. However, the staff was gracious and kept us informed, expressing their apologies for the delay. The wait was well worth it, as the food was simply delicious. I plan to return to the restaurant in the future and make a reservation to ensure a more seamless dining experience.

This is a lovely restraunt and I have been many times, but I visited with my teenage grandaughter last week and was advised Wednesday's Tapas night, increased price of £17.50 and told unlimited ? Portions very small ordered sweet sour chicken and was small plate with 2 chicken balls and very little sauce, we had shredded chicken, thank fully to add to the rice, as couple at next table advised order three dishes as very small. I appreciate tapas small dishes but you need to know . The main issue we had was the constant with staff taking dishes away and at your table, it's very uncomfortable and you feel pressured throughout. Just finished pouring dish onto my rice, dish lifted immediately and asked if we would be having more food, when I answered probably not, asked if I wanted bill ????? Makes it all so uncomfortable. Food provided very quickly and we were in and out in 35 mins Will not be returning my granddaughter was horrified by it all. Please remember we are not up to date with menu changes and hurrying customers is not the best way to keep us returning.

Went for the tapas night the food was ok can't really complain on that though as soon as you had finished a dish they where over taking it away so couldn't be left in piece plus into the bargain they even poured my son cola out of his can even without him asking to then swipe the empty can straight of the table it was if they just wanted the place as clean as soon as possible please give people time to enjoy there food and not feel rushed

The selection of Chinese food is good and well presented. The quantities are just about right and the food is good quality.

Got a beef curry fried rice the curry sauce and rice was lovely however on this occasion the beef was just to fat and chewy inedible so went in the bin total waste the same as a few weeks ago when I ordered spare ribs and there was no meat on them also went in the bin think I will be giving the place a miss In the future

Just collected a takeaway from here, I have never ever complained but felt I had to as the food was terrible, for starters it was cold when we opened it, the ribs had no meat on them and the sauce was all gooey, definitely not made fresh, the satay chicken was dry and the sauce was very bland, I knew as soon ad I opened the rice that this was reheated rice, very disappointed as I have ate in the restaurant and this was very good, won’t be back after this

I was impressed by the restaurant itself but, unfortunately, the food didn't impress at all. The prawn toast was so oily I felt like it needed to be wrung out and both the beef and chicken curry came in the same generic sauce that clearly came from a packet and was accompanied by big chunks of raw onion. Most of it ended up in the bin.

Food was delicious, great prices for a two course lunch! Chicken was really tender! Not enough prawn crackers on the table though! Will be a returning customer. Only letdown on second visit, they now do french fries instead of thick cut chips.

Very let down by this place. Pictures look really nice but don’t seem to accept online orders within opening hours..! Feels like bad service to me.

King prawn fried rice was like stadgy pudding, prawns reheated rubber, won't be using this Chinese again, let down.

Went here on a Sunday afternoon. The manager (baldheaded guy in his 40s) was very unwelcoming and stern. As soon as I walked in he said ‘do you have a reservation’ to which I replied no. At that point I should have left the restaurant and found some other eatery that was more accommodating. Was then told to take a seat & was made wait 10 minutes (even though the majority of the restaurant had empty seats with no reservations signs on them) before being seated in a cramped corner of the empty restaurant? The food that was prepared was very small portioned, the waitresses who do not speak fluent English also got the order incorrect and I had to ask for the soup to be sent back as I’d asked for chicken and sweetcorn not chicken noodle. Did not enjoy my meal at all, the waitresses stand and glare at you waiting for you to finish your food before they quickly swipe your plates away. I have never been to a restaurant in Glasgow with such poor shoddy customer service in my entire life. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone even though your initial impression is it’s a very nice accommodating restaurant, not so. Do not be deceived. Unfortunately it is a problem with the staff and their attitude that is the issue rather than the quality of the food.

We have lived near this restaurant and never been…. Boy have we been missing out. We went on a Wednesday for the tapas menu- so well presented, such great flavours. I am not usually a fan of this type of food but it was wonderful. I will be back!

We have been going here for many years and there's a reason for that food amazing. Service top class.staff are so friendly and helpful.The manager goes out his way to keep customers happy! We always book a Booth as very hard to get.if you book a table but not a Booth highly unlikely you will get it.we watched a couple walk out because they didn't get a Booth.Did you request it? Great resturant great food great staff well worth a visit.By far best chinese resturant for miles.just keep doing what you do. Well done!! Amazing.All down to management style

Average not much to write home about

New favourite, had chicken noodle soup & chicken fried rice, some of the best I've ever tried. Can't wait to try so many other things from the menu!

Afternoon dine in with 6 of us very good value set meal with one couple dinning out later so just had spring rolls and noodle soup. All drinking soft drinks and one pint of beer. Taste really good, great service . Can't beat it .

Very good food but you have to be willing to wait a while and pay a premium. It’s the best takeaway Chinese food I’ve tasted in Glasgow but it is expensive when compared to others. Delivery takes off another star, because it averages over an hour (in my experience) and the restaurant don’t use Uber etc. drivers, so there’s no tracking.

dear god, that was revolting. easily the most disgusting "food" i have been served in a long time. the chips were clearly reheated several times and dripping with fat and flavourless. i remember the days when chow mein was a fresh, zingy tasty meal where you could easily identify each of the ingredients. this was a fat-soaked, congealed brown mess though i think i could possibly spot a little bit of chopped spring onion, but don't quote me on that. the whole lot solidified into a lumpy mass before i finally chucked it into the bin. god in heaven, if this is what passes for "chinese" food these days, they can keep it. appalling!
