Hy's Palace in North East Lincolnshire

After the last 4 orders I have ordered from here, will not be ordering again, either stuff missing or spending over £20 to get the free spring rolls as they don't do the offer on a weekend where on the menu it doesn't say anything of the sort! , and only getting half an starter, prawn toast with no sauce! Really disappointed as I enjoyed ordering from here since they are doing fresh chip

Best Chinese we’ve ever used. We would never use anywhere else and we’re not even that local! We just travel to it because it’s the best The negative reviews before are 2 people from the same order which makes it an unfair review. Only thing I can say is PLEASE please bring back the original chips instead of chip shop like chips! They were my favourite part of the whole order before 😂

Live at Waltham and always use Hy's Palace for Chinese takeaway. I don't understand where the bad reviews have come from, we have never had a poor or even average dish; the food is always fantastic. By far the best Chinese in the area, slightly more expensive than others but justified as you get what you pay for. Food is always piping hot, the delivery has never been late. On occasions we have collected our food, the open kitchen has always been spotless and the staff are great. We would not order a Chinese takeaway from elsewhere.

First time used as we were in the area. Same we live too far for delivery. Definately the best Chinese tried, great taste, and hot on delivery. Noted earlier review was duplicated so unreal, pleased we didn't take their advise. Thanks will use again and will promote positively

Ordered lemon chicken, fried rice, scezuan chicken and chips, came on time, but the lemon chicken was awful, way too much lemon in the sauce, and the chips aren’t chips, they are wedges, and really dry, total disappointment, rang to explain, and was told, oh, people like lemon chicken, I’ll tell the chef to check it!! Orders from here before and it was lovely, not this time, and the customer service is now dire. Won’t be ordering from here ever again, or recommending to others, would have give no stars if we could. Thanks for the “great” experience, not!.

Order Lemon chicken, chips, fried rice, hips and Szechwan chicken, the Lemon chicken was awful, way too much Lemon, to the point it was tarty, and the chips, well, not even chips, but dry wedges. Rang to inform them, was told customers like lemon chicken (as I do) but I’ll get the chef to check!! Check what? That ours didn’t have too much lemon in (how is he going to do that may I ask??) We’ve ordered from here before and it was delicious but not now, and the customer service was awful, will not be ordering again, and will definitely not recommend to anyone.

Great food delivered so hot never had a takeaway delivered so hot. First time using this takeaway we are usually loyal to Carr Lane. Will deffo use again 5*

First time we have used this takeaway and I was highly impressed with all the food large portions it was all very hot and very tasty Had home delivery only had to wait 20mins yes for Saturday night and it arrived on time Will certainly be using you again Well done guys

Reviewed Hy's 3 months ago and was really impressed , decided to have a treat and get a takeaway tonight and thought that it would be up to the standard of the last one.......how wrong was I ???? The quality and quantity have diminished so much it's incredible. I know we are all in the cost of living crisis but if you increase your prices to accommodate this..........as you have..... then you should deliver the same quality and quantity. Portions are now child friendly size with no mini spring rolls even though it's advertised that they are free if you spend over £18 , which I did and the prawn crackers came in a bag smaller than a mouses pocket . This is such a shame because I thought previously that I had found a real gem of a place , but alas , will now have to enter the minefield of finding another decent takeaway....unless anyone else out there can recommend one .

Didn't have to wait long for delivery. The crispy duck with pancakes was fab and king prawn satay yum. First takeaway from here and recommended it.

The food is always delicious and a wonderful treat during the week. The staff are always friendly, never had a bad meal from then.

We ordered our food online and waited over an hour for delivery. Rang the restaurant after the estimated delivery time elapsed and they told us they didn’t receive the order. The website told us the order had been made but the restaurant hadn’t received it. There is clearly an issue with the website but the restaurant weren’t interested. They didn’t try to help resolve the problem and told us we’d have to wait another hour to receive our food. Clearly didn’t care. Won’t be going back.

Ordered and payed via online system , meal was delivered to Scartho very quickly. Everything arrived hot and was extremely tasty and the portion size was very good , even given some free mini spring rolls which were also delicious . This will be our new go to takeaway , thoroughly recommended.

Excellent, fresh, vegetarian Chinese food! We (3 people) ordered different tofu options as well as the veg chow mein and spring rolls, and all were very tasty, I ordered over the phone for collection, was 15 mins until pickup and £30. There was parking when I arrived and didn't have to wait for my food, I liked how I could see the open kitchen and everything looks clean. Would recommend 100%

Shocking. Nearly 3 hours waiting for the food. Rang multiple times asking for a time and they kept saying 30 minutes to keep us sweet. Really terrible service and will not be using them again.

i do not normally like eating Chinese, however a client from my supported living offered me her Chicken balls and unwanted prawn crackers that were complimentary to her order. I had the chicken balls cold from the day before and they were nice. Prawn Crackers were good quality. I can say this is the best Chinese takeaway in Grimsby.

Regarding my usual Mixed Meat Green Pepper in Black Bean Sauce now called house special. Meat and sea food content was fine, but, peppers where soft and squidgy the sauce was terrible, nothing like it used to be, it tasted, like fruity. No black bean flavour whatsoever, which totally detracts from the description of the meal Green Pepper in BLACK BEAN SAUCE which has been my favourite for years 😡🥵🤬Sorry you have failed🤯

Ordered food for delivery arrived 30 mins later. Food was top quality and very tasty could taste the fresh ingredients and the h7sbsnd said exactly the same will definitely be ordering again.😋

Recieved a leaflet through post on this Chinese and we live on Holton Le Clay. The leaflet stated £2 off order of £20 , or £3 off order of £30 ect ect. When phoning them I mentioned the voucher and was told it's of the next order which when all the Terms & Conditions are read there's nothing stating this at all. Food was ok usual Chinese Takeaway Food but the fact they played a crafty here with this voucher wound me up so I'd not use emm again purely for that reason.

The roast duck fried rice is amazing! It's not our local take out, but it's worth the drive for the above for me!

We used to really enjoy our Chinese from Hy's but not anymore since its under new ownership. Friendly staff but quality of good has gone down. You get less and pay more for it. He's moved out and we're moving on. Sorry

Shock was to find out this place was under new ownership. Heard some bad reviews but thought I'd make my own opinion. Well Singapore fried rice was not spicy, curry sauce was bland, chow main noodles was on par with Aldi. Unfortunately will not be using again.

Staying on the haven site so decided to "treat" ourselves to a takeaway. Literally the worst Chinese food I have tasted. Watery sauces, refried chips, very very poor quality food. DO NOT BOTHER!

Huge portions, beautiful taste forgot the rice but the dishes made up for it, had enough to feed a family when there was only 2 of us, great prices fast delivery.

Wonderful food. Ignore the the bad reviews. We've ordered here 3 times and everyone has been fabulous. My partner has chicken curry and the chicken was real, proper chicken. Not the usual Chinese standard of reformed chicken. The curry sauce is thick and tasty. I have salt and pepper chicken and it's lovely.

So.. usual takeaway closed for a while.. so decided to give another one a go. Food hygiene score.. 4. So not 5.. but 4 is the lowest I would go. So went ahead. Parking. Easy outside and free. On entering, I was immediately greeted in a friendly manner. Not knowing the menu I asked for various favourites and was quickly guided to the correct ones. Chicken fried rice, veg curry, sweet n sour prawn balls, deep fried chilli beef, chips and seaweed. Due to spending so much.. free prawn crackers. Portions large. Sweet n sour.. crispy batter.. non greasy. But the sauce was very thin and vinegary. The prawns juicy. But one had the crispy tail attached.. so like eating egg shells! Veg curry. Very nice. Good mix of veg and tasty sauce. Not too salty. Veg perfectly cooked. Seaweed. Salty and sweet. Basically fired cabbage.. but very nice. The sprinkling of fish powder.. could have been a little more generous. Chicken fried rice. Really fresh chicken. Like roast chicken but shreaded. Seasoned with soy. Not too tasty.. fairly bland.. but ok. Chilli beef... very thin watery sauce. Made I believe with rice wine. Vinegar, thin, tart not at all like any thick chilli sauce I have had elsewhere. (Personal taste.. some may love this.. but I didn't.) Tasty enough.. loads of fresh sliced chillis.. but not much chilli flavour. Plenty of heat. Chips.. frozen.. unsalted (great) crispy but soft inside. Can't go that wrong with frozen chips! Free prawn crackers. Thin, light and fishy. Not dripping in oil. Again.. different to the norm. The food is average. Neither good or bad. Due to the rice wine used in dishes.. I won't be coming back here anytime soon. But.. clean interior, friendly staff, decent prices, good food hygeine raring.. some will love this place.

We’ve used Hy’s Palace several times in the past few months since my Daughter recommended it to us and each time the food has been excellent. The portion sizes are very generous and the prices are more than reasonable. For £27.50 we got enough food to feed 5 people easily and for any orders of £20 or more they throw in a bag of the best prawn crackers I’ve had from any Chinese restaurant. All aspects of the vast menu are good. We had beef with green peppers in black bean sauce, chicken with mixed vegetables, mixed meat and prawns sweet & sour Cantonese style, Singapore noodles and Yung Chow rice. All of which were excellent. I would recommend Hy’s Palace to anyone. You will not be disappointed.

After trying a lot of chinease restaurants around cleethorpes Grimsby , which I wasn’t impressed with I came across hys palace this palace is well worth a visit , I’ve used this Chinese for yrs now it’s amazing very clean, the food is perfect the delivery on time and polite ,xxx

Best Chinese takeaway in the area.

After buying my special curry from nearby takeaway I thought I would give Hy's a try..... cheaper for sure but a bit disappointing, plenty of meat but the curry tasted powderish to me.and had a sweet taste to it.

This was our first foray into using Hy's Palace, to provide an evening meal for my wife and I. It was delivered on time, which was a good start. The menu chosen, was as follows: Chicken in Sweet Corn Soup Boiled Rice Prawn Crackers Deep-Fried Chicken in Lemon Sauce Sweet and Sour King Prawn Balls Roast Duck Chow Mein He found all items to be well cooked and tasty. However, we found our eyes, to be bigger than our bellies! We'll know next time? Thank you to all concerned - we'll be back!

Went in tonight Sunday 1st April & was very disappointed, as full of kids running around ( their own kids ). Nobody there to take order so went home.

Not sure what it tastes like but will give it a try. I'm hungry
