Always get my fish chips mushy curry from here the best fish and chip shop around here. Very friendly staff all freshly cooked to order no complaints from me .keep it up

Friendly service and good quality food

One particular older staff member rude, was waiting to be served for a while whilst people was coming in and been served straight away. Then made to wait 20minutes for food even though the food I ordered was given to other customers who wanted the same. Food wasn’t great. Breadcake abit stale. Chips not the best. Parking terrible.

Chips & peas were really good. Chips were cooked to perfection and not too expensive, will definitely try again next time I'm out that way.

thought i would give the fishery one last try as last time i went in it was horrible food, shame really as it was good when the older man cooked, but i think he as left it to his sons or some younger lads who dont have a clue. anyway, yes went back, and it is still bad, may be even worse than before if thats possible. its the fish its like paper thin and just batter thats burnt. i would find elsewhere to go if you read this before visiting.

Just ordered lightly battered fish It was well done cold not eat it. I asked for scraps on my chips and they was like charcoal Never again The shop used to be nice just gone down hill The chips were bearly fried Pure white

Absolutely rubbish burnt fish or they haven’t cleaned the oil. When you got young lads working who are not bothered too busy on there phones. Concentrate on cooking didn’t know it takes longer to cook a spam fritter then it does a burnt special bs

Visited today for the first time and it was great! The staff were quick, attentive, polite and overall such a joy to speak to! The fish and chips were some of the best I’ve tried to date, the food was served efficiently with very limited wait. I will definitely be going back again soon… highly recommended!

2017 I wrote, "Best fish and chips for miles! Friendly staff and very fair prices. Every Friday without fail. They even take card payment!" Present day, I have just come back - avoid it has changed ownership and has really gone down hill quality wise. My specials had low quality fish with very poor batter, whilst the chips were overcooked and quite evidently simply warmed up. Sorry to say this, I loved this place. Now under new owners, obviously changed suppliers or processes to reduce cost, whilst cost of living has increased the prices.

Brilliant fish & chips. Odd occasions not quite up to scratch, but the majority of the time, they are spot on. The fish is nice and fresh, and chips are NOT dripping with grease like many others. Could easily compete with some of the national awarded fish & chips shops.

Absolutely the worst fish and chips i have been too. Not only was the service shocking... it was racist , was shocked in this day and age that not only did they refuse to except Scottish Money that they could not explain why they would not except legal tender. I decided to report it as racist attack on me and my partner as both of us were discussed by this to the point police and newpapers been involved. I wouldnt not recommend this if it was the last place to eat!!!!!!

Always tasty! I stop by almost weekly! They do shut at 14.00 and reopen in the evening, but they have been accomodating more than once to take my order in the last minute! A really lovely place!

Went in here tonite around 5.45. Ordered 1xFish n chips and a fish for me and mum. If I would have lived round the corner I would have brought them back and asked for a refund! Must of got the scrag end of the chips and the fish batter was rock hard, ate some of the fish, cat had a field day ! Have been coming here for years too !

Well portion was tiny just look at it for the price. Dont find paying for chips if its adecwnt portion. Poor really. Also fed up of been a customer in a take away and been second to delivery orders while your stood trying to get lunch on a lunch break !!!

Eaten here many times and has always been spot on, tonight though service was shocking and in return home the fish was soaked in thick dark grease. This was not pleasant and we will not return.

Really tasty fish and chips, fish was good quality and chips were fried perfectly. Good to see fish and chips being served in paper and not boxes. Curry sauce full of flavour, overall a satisfying meal. I live 15/20 mins away and happy to travel. Good customer service also and fairly priced. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing food and customer service. We used to go to another local chippy but they're nowhere near as good and don't get me started on the fish cakes OMG best I've had in years. Worth the wait to have freshly cooked food.

Been coming here for a number of years now, but latley the fish has gone smaller and thinner, got a fish tonight suppossed to be lightly done, sorry more batter than fish, the fish was that thin you could see through it. sorry guys you was always my first choice, now your my last resort if nobody else is open.

Gone down the pan! Just had fish and chips from here, well chips actually because there was no fish in my batter, a small flat piece of fish dried out, over cooked, I certainly will not be going back, shame because they used to be good.

Been here loads of times, stopping off after work. The fish and chip meals are value for money, service is very good, plus staff wear PPE for covid 19 rules, also adere to the rules , screens etc. Noticed some comments on here saying people not wearing masks, well I'm in the pic, thats me at the counter and I was wearing a mask , like I do everytime I visit these premises, as like in any shop or building etc. Think people should check facts first and not judge. I find these premises Covid-19 safe and friendly. Big pat on the back to the staff for being friendly and supporting the little businesses / community. 👍😷😃

Food quality is, as ever, fantastic. However, I cannot recommend anyone visit this chippy at the moment, as they flat out refuse to enforce Covid-19 restrictions in line with government regulations. I witnessed 6 customers inside the shop at once, with not one bothering to wear any sort of face protection. Previously I've seen staff electing to not wear face shields, but instead a facemask that doesn't cover the nose (effectively useless). Do not visit this place unless you think fish and chips is worth the risk of 2 weeks on a ventilator and a lengthy stay in the ICU. Sincerely, a former regular who has lost family and friends to this pandemic.

For the past 2 Mondays the fish as been horrible over cooked don't know if its a different fryer from a thur but been horrible the fish as been burnt down the side of the batter and the fish is over cooked

I’m actually disgusting with this chip shop this evening. I wait for nearly 10mins in a queue to be served which that doesn’t bother me then ask for my order, I order my children food and want to order MORE than just two kids meals and the staff ignore me and take next person order whom only just walked in the door! I then complain saying I’ve got more on my order and the old lady like ‘I’ve already told them to put two kids meals in for you’ what about rest of my order????? Then continue serving next person. Extremely rude customer service in here. And on Christmas Eve of all nights. I’m not only customer whom walked out because of the service I recieved! I’m appalled by this. I’m local and certainly won’t be using again or recommend to anyone to use again! Absolutely disgusting how just been treated!

I've been going here for years. Saab and his team do a GREAT job. Fish and Chips are my favourite dish and I've tried all around including Wetherby Whalers and Bearded Sailor (both in Pudsey and Bearded Sailor supposedly in the top 10 UK fish and chip shop 2019 awards), Hunslet Carr Fisheries taste as good, provide a faster service and best of all cheaper! Great place with friendly team.

I have been going here for years, and never once have i had a bad product or reason to say otherwise. from the chips, fishcakes to the fish. all cooked great. staff are very polite and helpfull, owner always busy in the background doing his job frying away, but always got a smile on his face.
