Placed an order last night only to receive a text message an hour after the order to inform us that our order has been cancelled. Very poor customer service, will not be ordering from this place again.

Called in while a little bit tipsy but fully aware of my friend not agreeing to card machine not in use always have a bit of cash just in case of these emergencies and the food well should have really only got the 10" instead of the 12" spicy meat feast not the that of course but do remember the taste was amazing best try the place you will not be disappointed lots to choose from

Low quality and very expensive food and inappropriate treatment of workers And because of the support of the workers, I will not buy from him

Ordered a delivery. Food arrived really quickly and was nice and hot. Tasty food. Delivery driver polite and cheerful. Very positive experience would recommend 👍

The owner is waste and he make all them to work and at last he give 10 pounds to go home

Kebab was just all Scabby bits of kebab meat the chips tasted of dirty old oil and there was a dark hair in with it my dog eats better than this

Excellent for some late night chicken, would definitely recommend the chicken strips and fries. They used to do nice pizza too but then they raised the prices so it wasn't worth the cost for the pizza

Poor service as it took them 25 minutes to make 2 pizzas. They were more focused on online orders than customers in house. Food was really poor quality. Overall I will not go again a total waste of money and very poor .

Shocking delivery service so much for deliver to your door. manager delivered food what a disgrace disgusting attitude did not carry change attempted to negotiate with next food would be cheaper but that is not right never going back again absolutely disgusting!

Terrible customer service. I would definiately not recommend going here the staff are rude and found a bug in my food.

Just found a chunk of sharp metal in my coleslaw. I would hate to see the damage it was cause if ate. Won't be ordering here again

Worst customer service would not go again, can’t review on just eat but I ordered to the food at 9:35 and didn’t get it till 25 past 11 I told them my location multiple times, they then requested I shared my location, which I did, I then rang the shop asking for my food, we were stood outside the hospital and the guy on the phone started shouting and being aggressive over his driver not finding me then proceeded to tell me he couldn’t come in the hospital for health and “safety reasons” I was on a main road outside the hospital yet still got chew, wouldn’t go again, food was Luke warm at best. Owner shouted down the phone, with having a baby in the hospital I just grabbed the food and left it as that as they were already late and I was done with the chew. Don’t go here ! Many other better ones near by

Clean place still manged to get the order wrong even though we ordered in the shop and not on the phone the Donna calzone that I got had pretty much 0 tomato puree in it making it very dry and the dona meat is chopped up into tiny little bits

If you want fried chicken these guys do good stuff at a reasonable price

I called to ask how much lunch pizza were and the guy goes if your regular you should know. I was like well I don't tend to order at lunch so could you tell me how much 14" is, he just put the phone down on me. He was very rude and for some reason had problem with telling me the price. We regulary order from them and I also introduced my brother to them and he orders alot from them too. He's had issue with their attitude before and now I know what he means. Well we won't be bothering you any more.

I have had a few orders from here recently. They have always arrived early or on time. The food is always hot. I just tried the Tandoori wrap, the chicken was very tender and very tasty.

Rancid undercooked chicken rottern chips ! Avoid like the plague

The cleanest restaurant and take away in the whole of Newcastle! The oil smells clean and you can see the kitchen sparkle in the shop. Highly recommended! Food is great. Go for the boneless chicken strips.

We called up to place an order for collection for two kebabs, once we went to collect we got told the total was £25 I obviously did not expect it to be £25 so went to get more money, once I had already handed over my money my partner queried why it was £25, the man immediately started shouting at me and showing us the order ticket, my partner obviously told the man to stop shouting at me, he became very aggressive, he even said to my partner you look like you want to punch me, which seemed like he was trying to entice us to become aggressive and stoop to his level, my partner asked for our money back and explained he had put the wrong item on the order, the man refused to give our money back and kept shoving the food at us, he was insistent I ordered the wrong thing, I apologised even though the fault was with him, and said we still want our money back and no longer want the food due to his appalling attitude, again he kept refusing and we were arguing for approximately 15 minutes before the man eventually flung our money across the counter! Absolutely appalling behaviour and lack of any customer service skills, I have only previously ordered through just eat and it being my first time in the shop notices the lack of hygiene in the shop, the man was handing money then touching food🤮 Hopefully they get no one else’s order wrong or you might have to deal with a madman screaming and shouting!

Cant put no stars cos can't post a review, If I hadn't just came out of hospital I'd of took it straight back!!! Got a mixed kebab if you can call it that 5 slices of COLD kebab meat 8 chunks of COLD chicken!!! salad filled rest of carton. So paid £14 for cold food & salad!! Never have I had such a disgusting amount of food for the price!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID! They should be ashamed of what they call Kebab meat bed, the chips were £2.50 & there was more of tho than the full kebab!!!! Disgusting!!

We have ordered vegetarian pizza recently. It was the worst pizza ever. Earlier the quality was good but in last few times we were experiencing very bad quality of food.

Been to collect my order tonight,staff need to smile 😁 for a start, I watched a member of staff prepare an order he used his hands no gloves to put salad in a box 🤢 absolutely disgusting! chips are all ways over cooked to.i won’t be back

I know prices are going up everywhere but the price increases recently are over 25% on a lot of the items. No longer a cheap place to eat

Ordered a takeaway last night and food was very poor for the money,ordered salad with mixed kebab and instead chips were delivered,used Hungry Shack numerous times and this meal was very poor.

Popped in and served within seconds... Proper nice bait. Cash only when I was there.

Used to love coming here. Past two times I’ve ordered from here I’ve had bother, last time I was delivered late the total wrong order, rang up and it was rectified and a fresh delivery was sent out. Today I ordered at 17.15 waited over an hour and a half before getting my food delivered only after calling the shop twice. One of the wraps was soaking wet and had to actually change the wrap as the first was inedible, my wrap the chicken was rubbery as if it had been reheated and the lettuce was brown. Chips were like rubber. A total waste of money and this was the final straw and has put me off ordering from here again. Such a shame

Over an hour and a half for delivery on a Tuesday night. Portion size was ridiculous. It was smaller than a kids meal. £7 for this and sent the wrong pop. I’d be embarrassed to send that out if this was my business.

Order from here regularly and it’s normally spot on but I usually collect. We got delivery this time and it took an hour and a half to arrive. (On a Tuesday night) I phoned up after an hour to ask where my food was to be told it’s still in the shop. Anyway it arrived 30 minutes later and it was shameful. If I could upload A picture I would. There was hardly any chips at all in the box and the wrap looked like greasy slop and was tiny. Hopefully this was a one off as I like the food from here. I’ll give them another chance

Went downhill this place chicken was rock hard and dry on a Friday night! Should be fresh on a busy night and beans tasted funny! Only thing was nice was chips ffs so won’t be going back and back to kfc I go

I very rarely give such a review, but for this one it felt a must because I have spent nearly a day since my order and could not get over it. I hope to be fair as much as possible. Well! I ordered an SFC meal, Margarita and Vege pizzas and some dessert. The SFC meal is just average on quality compared to the price while the pizzas are worse than the ones I could do at home. Anyway, Nothing of that matter more than the customer service by both the one who took my order and another one who seemed be a manager treating me with unwelcoming face giving me an uncomfortable feeling while I was asking for repeating what the side options were again; for me to choose from; since I know nothing about their menu; something which they dislike. Additionally, choosing a Cake was difficult and that even created a sort of miscommunication because there was no label. I kept pointing to the ones I want and they kept asking me which one from casher area while I am at the dessert area. How about approaching near to me to see which ones I want! Furthermore, they do not accept card payment, only cash!!! Which is very odd thing. I would understand if they were handling a long queue, but there was only me so no excuse for them to treat me in such a way. From now on I would rather spend my money at a place that respect customers no matter who they are and what background they are from and how unfamiliar they would be with their menu.

Order a couple of chicken kebabs for me & a friend when they eventually turned up after waiting well over a hour they were both cold and the chicken was very undercooked. Most of it went in the bin. Won't be ordering from here again the service is poor food is even worse.

Chips were undercooked. I had to put chichen in air fryer to crisp it up. I ordered chilli sauce and paid for an extra one and ended up with garlic sauce! Usually love this place but I won't be ordering again.

Not what it once was.. I often order from here as the food is always tasty. Recently, I was sent the wrong order and got a box full of salad when I'd ordered chips. I called up and was told they would send me "free chips" when they had time... strange, as I'd asked for and paid for chips. I wasn't sure how they were "free". So an hour and 15 minutes later after eating just the meat from my kebab I called back to say don't bother with the chips, I'm not interested. Salad went in the bin and I won't be ordering from here again. Terrible service after they acknowledged their mistake on my order.

Some food was cooked forgot about garlic bread left it on top of oven for over 15 mins I complained and said the pizza would stay warm but said they would give use fresh chips but he emptied the cold chips back into where rest of the chips were and mixed them up, people and delivery drivers walking in from street and then starting to handle food with out washing there hands will never use this place again.

Good chicken. Loads of meal deals. Grilled wraps are great.

The worst takeaway ever....food was extremely salty with undertones of stale old chip fat....Don’t get me wrong I like salty food but this was just a joke....never again.

Rang up after 20 minutes was assured food was on way. After 50 minutes i rang again (and asked for a refund as i did not want cold food that had been out 30 minutes) They put me on hold and then explained they could not give a refund. As it had not been an hour. When i questioned the food being out for 30 minutes, as i was told. i was told this was a lie. I then said i would be hanging up an leaving a bad review i was told my review was a lie. I was on the phone trying to get a refund for 10 Minutes. I was also told my house was 10 minute or more drive away. Its not. I was then told this was a lie for questioning it. Rerrible customer service. S

I love the chicken here, but I have, multiple times places an order which has been accepted only to get a call saying we don't have those things available. Well ensure you mark them as out of stock!! I order from you because it's better than KFC but you are repeatedly letting me down. Accepting my order and calling me offering cake instead of on the bone chicken!?!?!?! Not a comparison.

Just visited Hungry Shack, Benton, NEVER disappointed!! Staff always eager to please and food that is truly scrumptious. The only place I go for kebabs, pizzas, burgers or something more healthy. Always really fresh and well cooked, portion sizes won’t disappoint. Give it a try!!

Always ordered mixed kebab from here and never had any bother until the price hiked from £8.30 to £9.50 for the same thing.. No thanks.

Called in to Hungry Shack tonight and was very disappointed to see about 4 or 5 staff members behind the counter and not one of them wearing face coverings correctly, staff member serving with mask on his chin, a cook with face screen wearing it like a sun visor and the rest not wearing face coverings. just shows they don't care about the safety restrictions that are put in place to protect us all from covid. We didn't buy from you and won't in the the future, well done you've lost custom.

Amazing food as always I think I order from here at least 2 times a week food never fails. What made my experience exceptional today was that I went in to pick up my order and I wasn’t feeling very good. The lovely man genuinely asked me if I was okay and things like that don’t go a miss so thank you very much for asking it was a very kind gesture.

Disgusting service. Food arrived 40 minutes late, cold and soggy. When I asked them to mark the order as completed on the Just Eat system, they wouldnt (and still havent) so I am unable to complain to Just Eat. They also called us back on my autistic partners number that was on the order and were extremely rude to her and upset her.

I ordered 2 thin crusts, 1 deep pan stuffed crust, plus a few sides. When the order arrived the delivery man said something about making all 3 deep pan & filled crusts as a gesture.?! Although I must admit I couldn’t hear him properly. I HATE deep pan stuffed crust pizza’s So I had zero pizza & the others all enjoyed my pizza as well as their own. My Friday night treat became a packet of crisps from my cupboard . £33 for pizzas I didn’t order. Maybe you should leave orders as requested, rather than change the orders at your end? Disappointed is an understatement

Last visit was a bit of a let down as their Fried chicken wasn't up to its usual standards. The fact you that you can't use a card and have to pay with cash is a little bit of an inconvenience too.

I will Never use them again. The delivery driver ripped my son off.. ..........

Upgraded this review to 5 start as I've been going to hungry more often and trying different foods, absolutely love it. The only item I was not to keen on was the pizza, but it was still nice! I cannot recommend hungry shack enough, I love it and its pretty cheap! I will continue to go

Once again called in for food on way home,this place never and I'll repeat never fails to produce great food! Always tasty,the portions are belt busting and there price's are very good compared to the amount of food they give you. Selection is great and there happy to change things on the order to suit your cravings. There chicken is second to none and shames that well known high street brand😉 If you haven't already give them a try,I guarantee you will visit again and again.

Best customer service I have received in a long time. Gentleman who I believed to be the owner went above and beyond to help me as I didnt have cash and the card machine wasn't working. Managed to sort my order, pay be alternative means and leave with a massive positive vibe. Food was fantastic, chicken was succulent and tasty. Although I'm moving out the area, I will be back to visit very soon. Brilliant.

We used this place tonight for the first time. The food was OK, nicely cooked but it was more expensive than our usual place. Portions were crazy small - not really impressed.

I love Hungry Shack. Not only are their popular food items amazing (the Mexican chicken burger in particular) but the shop itself is spotless and the staff are so friendly. I ordered a side salad (normally a mediocre side at most takeaways) and it was great, so flavourful! You can really tell they put care into everything they do.

Really nice food only downside is you can only pay by cash or through the app. There is a cash point next door to the shop though.

I went to buy wraps only.explained that i am mot buying meal but just wraps. The owner charged me full price for meal.after i challenged him he put the price down for £1 on each wrap asking me if that is okay.i said i dont know ads there is no price in price list.according to owner is not standard wrap i have no clue what he meant by this but all i know if trading srandards walk in and there is no price on price list he will be heavily fined for £5000 per item. Never again
