I walk my dog Roxy here most days in the afternoon, the Guinness is great, there's really good and reasonable lunchtime + drinks specials, friendly bar staff and nice locals. Good internet connection if you're working from home (or pub haha) Oh and the music they play is just the best super retro playlist ever! And at perfect volume too, loud enough to enjoy but low enough to converse. Highly recommended.

64 now and been drinking at the Gosforth since I was 16..tut tut. Once a great pub but sadly not now. Absolutely no theme, almost like someone has been to an auction and bought a load of junk. Bar staff poor, clearly not trained properly. Go to the county and see how they do it.

I’m impressed by the hardworking owners. Passionate and care about the customer and the food they serve. I had the 14’’ bolognese again (no onion, extra garlic) and it was lovely.

Popped in looking for a ‘cheat day’ munch, post pub feast. The staff: busy. Very busy. But I witnessed a team of people working in unison to deliver. They were buzzing about checking orders, supporting each other to properly fulfil the order. Checking each other’s work. Maintaining standards. They were helpful and friendly and I must say, passionate. The food: I ordered a 14’’ Bolognese pizza (no onion, extra garlic) and a portion of chips. The chips were (remarkably) homemade. None of your standard fries here. Proper chips. I got them for me mam. She was happy. My pizza was very good. I was happy. Price reasonable too. I thought the GF an asset to Gosforth and the fast food community.

had the full english breakfast the sausages were the same colour as before you cooked them. The fried egg, yolk was solid, tomato was so over cooked it was mushy and the bacon had black lines over it. Not very inpressed.

Visited here many times over the years - staff are always amazing. Was a great little boozer but it's basically a football pub now. Visited the other night and there was 7 screens on in the snug with the football so loud it was deafening. I'm hard of hearing at the best of times and we just couldn't talk. Great if you like football. Sadly not so great for everyone else. We drank up and headed down to the County which had a much better atmosphere.

The Pub was Very busy on New Year's Eve - which is and the staff were excellent. The only criticism is that the background music was very loud which made conversation difficult.

Lovely place to go. Staff are nice. Drinks are nice. Good selection. Good pub for a drink and socialise so long as your not eating. Food is good enough but the wait is unbearable.

Neat close enough to the Metro, loads of nearby parking. Good nearby taxi service. Close to a bus depot. Food hood but n9t cheap! Selection of beers spot on! Good atmos0here and no loud music. Pretty large and always busy. One of my favourite pubs.

Really enjoyed my time here. The staff were super friendly and Zoe was amazing. loved the food and they had a nice variety of spirits and things on tap. Nice view of the high street and overall a very pleasant place to spend the evening. highly recommend ❤️

Not a great experience. Popped in late one afternoon for a drink and was given stale crisps, which of course they can't control. However the next day I went for breakfast and asked for their breakfast bap on a brioche bun, with hash browns, but asked for just bacon. What came was bacon on white bread with no hash browns. The music was also ridiculously loud for 10am - it wasn't on when I arrived otherwise I wouldn't have stayed.

Perfect for an after work catch up. Great service and great range of food and drinks 👌

Seems to be the only place on gosforth high street that broadcasts the football! Meaning that the place gets rather packed when there’s a match on - but there’s also a great atmosphere in return. Prices are a little more than other bars in the area but they offer a decent selection. Ladies toilets have seen better days!

Great spot for a chill pint in the sunshine! There’s always a nice variation or craft and cask ales on for anyone feeling fruity and it’s just good vibes all round 👌🏻

The food at this pub is what you'd expect, not amazing but not bad. My expirience however wasnt great. I ordered a steak on the app and was told they do not do it on Sundays (why is there an option to buy it, I don't know). I was then told a manager would come and give me a refund but no one came so I had to go to the bar myself to get it. My partner also ordered a desert where the spoon hasn't been washed so I asked for a new one. It's a shame because it's a nice pub and the staff are nice but these factors are letting it down.

The service was very slow. I appreciate that it is a hot day, but the air conditioning was set on far too cold and was freezing to sit under. I had to go outside to warm up. On a positive note, I like the safety aspect in the ladies' toilets with the ask for Angela poster. This pub does have lovely views of gosforth High street

Always liked the Gosy Hotel, however after spending £9.99 on a depressed looking salad I certainly wouldn’t eat there again. The salad was just a pile of iceberg lettuce, a very small amount of cucumber, tomato and spring onion with an equally small amount of chicken and bacon. No effort on the presentation and it just looked sad. Certainly not worth the price.

Just been refurbished. A great crowd enjoy time out here. A great meeting place too

Proper pub, old building traditional decoration. Cracking selection of ale including Jakehead and Hickey the Rake from Wylam. Right up my street, if only it was!!

Terrible service, we were sent totally the wrong order with items missing, when we rang to complain we were told that they couldn’t send the correct food as they had already paid the driver and blamed a new member of staff for the situation but said there was nothing they could do on the night to rectify the situation. We were offered over the phone free items next time we ordered but were fobbed off when we asked for proof of this to be sent either by email or txt. Will not be using again

No longer stinks as you first arrive, nonmore plenty nasty bar flies about so you can't help but love this place. Great food , plenty choice on drinks, friendly service. What more could you ask for? Update: wider variety of drinks, excellent service, great food.

I come here two or three times a week and the staff are always friendly. We tried a pork Sunday Roast last week and it was magnificent. We still need to get our pooch on the Howl of Fame

I was first one in and ordered breakfast, after they started bringing out food for other people I had to go and ask for it, but it was nice better than wetherspoons breakfast

Was meeting friends for a bit of reunion, but the back room closed ,so was really packed in the front. But beers and atmosphere really good.

Its one bar thats managed to keep a good atmosphere over the years. Its a bit pricey but its worth that bit extra. Staff very efficient. Always a good crowd in there

Strangely I was the only one eating the advertised roast at 12.30 on Sunday. The meal was plain but acceptable . Not one to take a 'loved one ' for a treat Sorry GosforthHotel a photo of breakfast at Café Beam has been labelled Gosforth Hotel....

Great beers,and lovely atmosphere.. In the Good beer guide and with Cask Marque accreditation.... BUT check your change as the bar got busy the price went up and the change went down. Spoiled it for me.

Standard pub. Nice staff. Food is average price and quality. Felt safe when I visited at a lunch time. Probably could do with a little bit of TLC in the toilet cubicles and a few other places, but it does the intended job and is clean enough. Would go again.

Really good atmosphere for both a quiet drink, and for football matches as well. Really good selection of high quality local craft beers, as well as some of the higher quality more well known branded lagers.

Nice place but we must not have chosen the food very well, we went before 12, but the kitchen was already open. The lasagna was burnt in some places and the portion was quite small, although it tasted good. The chicken was a little better.

Should be a great pub, but isn't. Some decent beers, but too noisy, too bright, too many screens. Toilets better than they used to be though.

Good setting to sit outside to enjoy the drinks and the sunshine.

Great selection of beers and nicely decorated. Amy was really chatty behind the bar and recommend Citra Idaho 7 and it was lovely. Will be returning

The food menu is not very extensive for gluten free, despite them marketing themselves as having an NGCI menu (the options beyond brunch were literally salads or a small plate of halloumi). Strange smell in the restaurant either that smelt like drains which was not a nice accompaniment to the food. The staff are great though and very approachable and the pub looks great!

Well looked after by Danielle and Jamie during our bottomless brunch! Well worth it and the full menu looks amazing. We'll definitely be returning and bringing our dog to post on the "howl of fame"!
