We visited the Dunvant on a Saturday afternoon to have lunch for our daughters birthday after a walk with our dogs. I have to say the place is excellent. We had steak and hunters chicken, all meals were stunning!! The service at the bar and with the food was brilliant. We sat outside under the covered gazebo with our 2 dogs, although dogs are allowed in the bar, and it was very nice, heaters on the wall if you get a bit chilly. All in all a great visit and will most definitely be going back again, 5 stars

Very poor. Will not be going back! Table for 2, ordered the nacho sharer and the classic burger, both with extra ‘pulled pork” £2 on the nachos and £1 on the burger, complete rip-off, hardly any pork on either meal. The nachos arrived 20 minutes before my burger, meaning my wife had finished eating before I had even seen my meal. When my burger finally arrived it had cheese on it. I specifically asked the barman if it had cheese, to which he replied, “no”! They made me a fresh burger without cheese, the ‘extra’ pulled pork manifested itself in the form of 2 fatty lumps of what was supposed to be meat, see photo, they are between the tomato and onion rings. The table of 4 next to us also had 2 meals arrive 10 minutes after the first 2. Come on guys, you should be doing the basics better than this! We will not be returning which is such a shame as the last couple of visits were so much better.

Visited as a family of 14 with 4 dogs ! Seated under the pergola which was spacious and comfortable and perfect for the dogs. With there being 14 of us the food and drink order was huge so we were very impressed that we only waited about 20 minutes and even more impressed that it all came out together and piping hot. Food was perfectly cooked, steaks were cooked to perfection and the battered fish crispy and tasty. Service was friendly and nothing too much trouble. Friendly atmosphere in the pub part. Excellent meal out and highly recommended for a reasonably priced meal.

I had a chicken burger and it was absolutely outstanding shoutout to the chef,very much impressed.Everyone that had a meal with me was well impressed. My mate had fish and chips and it was unbelievable, quality scran. I had 2 juicy, scrumptious steaks.

Ordered food at the bar as we were outside, ordered a large shared starter and 3 main meals. The main meals came out before the starter for us to then find out we hadn't "said the right thing" for the starter, in other words, playing semantics. I went back in and all of a sudden it was my fault for not saying EXACTLY how it was stated on the menu even though the barman was booking it in as we spoke. The food gave me and my daughter an upset stomach the following day, we had the fish and chips. The lasagne that came out looked like a child's portion and left my partner hungry. The surprised was when the manager came out with the mains and asked if we would like them to take the food back and bring it out again after the starter(that wasn't ordered by the bar staff) ... Terrible service and complete obfuscation of any responsibility. It's only round the corner from us but The Commercial has gone downhill since they were taken over by a chain and my 10 yr old daughter had to watch a about 5 football fans start jumping another guy because he said their team was a joke ... The black boy which is in the vicinity is also an absolutely dire pub when it comes to food, we had the aged Aberdeen Angus steak that wasn't aged but geriatric and the colour of the meat was grey. I can't believe how bad pub food has gone but now we are without options locally because this was the last option. Not again!

Lovely place, with good atmosphere, however, it was quite funny when we received our shared nachos with a teaspoon of pulled BBQ pork that cost £2 extra! Maybe next time they could change this to 50p if they're only going to add that much on top. I would like to stress that it was good food but that was questionable.

One of the colleagues named Jo was very friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcomed. They provided a fantastic service.

4th time there .consistent bad food.sunday lunch mothers day.beef and turkey looked as if it went through a shredding machine .please avoid it like the plague. Words fail me how bad it was.

Popped into the pub on a Friday night with friends for some drinks. Shout out the Ben behind the bar ! he served us all night and was super friendly 10/10 experience will definitely be returning :)

Great pub, the new menu has a great selection and always comes out quickly! Me and my mum come for the quiz on Wednesdays which is always good fun, would definitely recommend!

The pub is beautifully decorated and the outside area is so pretty! Visited with our family of 6, two adults, a 16 year old, 11 year old, 10 year old and 4 year old. All the kids have wildly different tastes but nobody struggled to find something they liked to eat on the menu. Everyone enjoyed their food. The portion sizes for main meals are on the small side but we had starters and brought cake so nobody went home hungry. We were celebrating the 10 year olds birthday. Lauren and Ben were so helpful in making sure she had everything she needed to celebrate. She had a great time! Despite it being a busy night (valentines day) it didn't feel rushed or over busy. The staff managed to keep the atmosphere calm and pleasant. We really enjoyed our evening and will return time and time again.

Came for food last week, food was piping hot and delicious. Lauren was attentive and helpful. Lovely meal again, will be back again soon.

Menu has quite a good choice, two of the party had fish and chips, one had lasagne and one had hunters chicken, I ordered a jacket potato to go with my lasagne, when the food arrived the jacket potato was so small even the waitress commented on it, the other meals were with chips, my sister counted her chips there were 8 in total, each member went and ordered another portion of chips each just to have a half decent sized portion. Staff were all amazing, a second jacket was brought to the table I think it had been in oven for days, too hard to cut so I gave it back to the waitress, she went and took one of the extra chips off the bill,

First time trying this pub since the refurb. The pub and service were great, but the food let's it down. All I can say is... Do not order the beef and ale pie. I'm not a fussy person, but it's probably the worst pie I've ever had. No meat and very heavy pastry. I know it's cheap, but it's still not worth it. Bit of a shame, really because it was great up until the food arrived. Sort your pie out !!!

My children and I booked for the first day of opening after the refurb. It looks incredible and so welcoming. The staff were great, would never have known it was first day of trading, was seamless. Staff so friendly and lovely. The food before refurb was hit and miss, now though it's incredible and so fairly priced. We had Sunday Roast which was delicious and just over £12 each. The only thing I will miss from the Hungry Horse is Fridays buy one get one free burger. Its great to have The Dunvant open again as we have missed it, now we will be back twice as much as it's just lovely. Was worried it would turn into a gastro pub, but it's not. Its decorated tastefully with splashes on colour on some walls, the chairs are beautiful and the new booths look inviting, will be requesting one for next time. To the brewery, thankyou for keeping the charm and thankyou for such a welcome.

NEWLY REFURBISHED AND LOOKING FANTASTIC!! WE HAD A WARM WELCOME AND WERE SEEN STRAIGHT TO OUR TABLE. QUICK AND EFFICIENT SERVICE WHILST ORDERING OUR FOOD AND DRINKS. AVERAGE WAIT FOR FOOD (WHICH IS ALWAYS REASSURING AS YOU KNOW IT'S NOT JUST BEING MICROWAVED!) FOOD WAS DELICIOUS WITH GOOD PORTION SIZES AND NO COMPLAINTS. Visited with my 2 children. The staff were lovely and really helped me out but the food was very poor. Had to send the pasta back as it was undercooked and swimming in water. The rest was all what seemed to be pre packed microwave foods. I hope the food improves on re open.

Tried the Dunvant for food with my family, and was pleased with the food menu and that it had so many delicious choices and something for everyone. Food arrived hot and delicious. We met the lovely Kasey who was friendly and great with the kids. Will be visiting again definitely.

Visited the Hungry Horse Dunvant on 28th July 2023 at approx 1pm We were greeted straight away. Served promptly. We ordered starters/lunch and desert, the food came quickly. The gentleman behind the bar even helped us get a better deal on the menu. The waitress who brought our food was very friendly and really lovely, great customer service and food was cleared away promptly. 5* customer service even though she was busy, I think her name was "alesha?" Great visit all around. Look forward to visiting again.

Fabulous lunchtime meal today. Lovely welcome from the staff. The pub looked amazing with the Christmas decorations and santas grotto. The best I’ve seen. I ordered a chicken and bacon wrap and it was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed.
