This place is extremely busy however when we walked in a lovely young man welcomed us took us over to a table as there was a few of us. Drinks ordered and they were quite reasonable prices. The food was stunning. We did have to wait a little bit longer than normal but we didn’t mind as they were extremely busy. The food was piping hot. The service was very nice and served with a smile. Can’t get better than that..

Dreadful service. If in for a drink only you have to queue with people ordering food. Caos,with people just wanting a drink waiting for food orders. Such a shame, used to be great when the bar was staffed separately to diners.

Food was awful, staff were young, inexperienced and out of their depth. Third time we called, never again. Avoid this at all costs

As a first time customer from overseas i was shocked at the unhygienic manner of the eating utensils,the soda was flat the glass it came in was not clean , the food looked like it was someone else's leftovers . The staff completely oblivious to the customers, they never had butter for the toast which we were only told once we received the meal. Please avoid at all costs

Meet up with friends here for lunch today as we came before Christmas and it wasn’t bad. Two of us had fish and chips, one of the fish was all batter and a tiny piece of chewy fish. Two of us had a burger, both were dry and unappetising, one had a burnt bun. Someone came and and asked how our meal was after the plates had been set down, we said we hadn’t started eating yet so didn’t know, we didn’t see anyone again. We got a second drink, was told the beer had run out, yes, all of it, they only had lager, so husband had to have a bottle beer. The staff were pleasant and friendly and the prices are very reasonable, but reasonable prices don’t count when you don’t have the product.

Came for a meal from the new menu, which was not much similar from the last.ordered a beef lasagne, which was very disappointing because it was cooked too long and was very hard around the edges and not much content inside.

We regularly pop here for tea as it’s easy meet up with family who travel to this location . Service is always prompt. Good value and good food .

Certainly lives up to it's name for hungry diners. Special offer for tuesdays included four chicken breasts with cheese topping, bacon, onion rings and tomato, plus little poet of coleslaw.Beautifully cooked on a hot plate, served by attentive server.Menu a bit difficult to understand for this geriatric, but bar tender who spoke fast and furious like a machine gun managed to get it right.relaxing ambiance.Plenty of parking plus a function room if you want to function.Well recommended

The meal was ok for the money,the toilets were a different idea we were there Sunday lunch time according to the sign in paper they hadn't been checked since Friday lunch time I'd agree what a let down dirty,unclean, u felt like you wanted to clean the toilet first.

Visited for a light bite. This place needs a major overhaul, it still looks like the labour club. It gives quite an unfriendly feel although the food wasn't bad. It's sort of cheap but not overly cheerful. Won't rush back.

Im not sure where to start really. First there wasnt 3 meals available which i asked for, the lady behind the bar gave my husband a bit of attitude because he had to keep leaving the bar to let me know that what i asked for was unavailable. I ended up having fish and chips with mushy peas after a 40 min wait ( very dry infact inedible), my husband had chicken with mexican rice ( again so dry ), then for dessert my son had dunkin doughnuts, but the staff kept forgetting what we'd ordered so we spoke to them 3 times about where our order was. The doughnuts was stale, we did complain about this because we was so fed up of waiting and the poor food quality, they swapped his order without any fuss and said that they thought the doughnuts weren't up to standard. The younger waiting staff was friendly, but there was a bar lady who was rude and very unhelpful. I suggested this pub because the food at the hungry horse in billsely ( kings heath) was fab. We went at 2pm on a saturday afternoon in bromsgrove so really there should of been plenty on offer. Wont go to this pub again

Good for meals. Prices are low. Good for families. Great for parties and events. Easy to get to. Arcade and outside play area are there too. Overall good food for on a budget!

Although the food was still good the portion size of the main and sweet has got smaller but as as usual the price doesn't go down

I enjoyed a meal here after work. I had the Macaroni Cheese, which was delicious. My partner had the Cheese & Potato pie, which he had ordered on a visit before the recent renovations. He said it was totally different and would not have it again. It's a shame when dishes change. Having said that I'm sure we will visit again as it is good value.

Please can you clean all menu cards after each sitting, they are disgusting and always stuck together with tomato ketchup, this really lets a place down, considering it was only reopened two weeks ago.

We stopped going here a while ago because the food wasn't as good as it had been. And the place, although nicely decorated, did not seem as if it was being cared for as well as it could have been.However, we went on the opening day following the refurbishment and had a great time. The decor had been updated again, very high standard. The staff were super friendly and I must say I had the best burger of my life! A hot mamma burger. It was cooked well and the presentation was good. My husband enjoyed his meal too. I really hope that all these good things are maintained as we will keep going regularly if that happens.

We and my husband went to give it ago as we only just moved round here, first walking in it smells like toilets badly, we found a table after looking round for ten minutes all the empty tables had not been cleaned at all, we had a look at the menu then hubby went to order after 15 minutes of waiting at the bar still nothing all the staff even the manager was at the end of the bar talking about other staff being really rude I said stick it and walked out. Will never go in again. Wish I could give it no stars.

We have visited this particular Branch of Hungary Horse obviously a few occasions. This Chain offers Big Portions if food for a very reasonable Sum.Do not expect Waitered Service , Quiteness or a clean table.These Pubs are run on minimalistic Operations ,which is OK as they seem to be thriving. To sum up the food is OK , the service is OK Prices are very reasonable and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for breakfast lunch or Dinner.

I happen to live next door to this pub, and therefore it's convenient for a quick meal, especially if it's later in the evening when other places have stopped taking food orders. It's one of those 'sticky' places with hordes of kids and not enough staff to take orders or clear tables – but that said, it's incredibly cheap. The menu offers the usual family pub fare, some of which is actually OK. . . the problem is that it arrives cold, or not quite as you requested it. The staff are very happy to sort this out, but of course it shouldn't be happening in the first place. If you're in a hurry it's probably not the place for you, as your food will need to go back to the kitchen at least once. The other problem is that they keep running out of ale - they only ever seem to have Greene King IPA anyway, but quite often it's either run out or gone off. I guess it's not really an ale drinkers' pub, but there ought to be the option. Sometimes there's a bottle or two of Old Speckled Hen (in the fridge!) to tide you over. It's not an absolutely terrible pub - lager drinkers and people with noisy children seem to like it - but if you want a hassle-free meal in clean and peaceful surroundings then it's not top of the list!

Meal was not bad but the noise was not good someone had been to ladies toilet and came back and proceeded to announce what someone had doe in there this was very off putting which made us not go there again

Very keen on eating out but each time I've had food at this hungry horse been bad few months i went in for breakfast notice a half cooked chip inside beans the fact chips not on the breakfast menu, said I ll change it come out again still barely warm, I went this Sunday was working close by had a Sunday lunch can say cold potatoes all three of them meal looks like come from a packet went somewhere else two hours for another meal I would travel to other hungry horse for a much better meal

Went into the bar for a drink for my toddler who was in a playgroup in the next room. It took 15 mins!!!! cordial was decanted from a Gin bottle and the glass was dirty!! Staff looked like they didn't have a clue.

Total rubbish , do not waste your money and time , that's unless you are a CHAV OR ACHAVS RELATIVE , place is full of morons , also smell of drugs is overwhelming as you walk in front door , please don't waste your time or money YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED if you don't care and are a bit thick carry on YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Now if you read my previous reviews I think you will see I'm honest in my thoughts. Well I have to be honest and say I was not expecting much as you pretty much get what you pay for and the meals here are reasonable but the chicken breast I had here was inedible It was just thrown in a deep fryer and well overdoneGreasy stinking of fat and like rubber .It's the first time and last time I will ever frequent a hungry horse.

Visited twice now over two weeks. Sent food back both times. Steak too tough to eat, changed and ok . Second visit. Food freezing literally. Peas tomato and mushrooms were icy cold on a cold plate with another steak that was inedible. Table filthy and had to clear that mess up ourselves with napkins !!! No more chances.. Definitely luck of the draw. Staff are pleasant but take the worst of the feedback for the poor food.

Visited on Monday 4th January for a quick evening meal with my young family. Considering the kitchen was a 'man down' wiht a poorly chef they did well. we did have a 20 minute wait for food but the quality was good. the staff were very courteous considering thier predicament. the manager had to handle a peeved customer who was complaining about the way her family dinner had been handled but he was very good. we like going as you get god deals with Tesco Vouchers so £20 off your fod bill is a great help!. I think thiri mixed grills are realy good value and my wife loves the New Yorker and the children always finish their kids meals which have lots of choice. An example of the good staff was the fact the salad that came wiht my daughtr's meal had some lettuce and tomotoe and some sald dressing on. we asked instead for carot sticks, tomotoes, cucumber and no dressing and they rought it - no quibble. We have been 3 times in 2015 and will go again provided we can continue using the Tesco voucheres as it is unbelievably good value, and the food quality is good.

We've been to this pub restaurant many times since it's a great place for a quick meal, as long as you don't order desserts. The food is usually very good and service is fairly quick. The fact that the prices are so reasonable (especially their special offers on certain days) means that this is a great place to get value for your money. The staff are friendly and the menu options are plenty. The only gripe I have is that, whenever we've ordered dessert, it's taken ages to arrive. We now just skip dessert so that we don't have to wait around forever. It saves our waistlines and wallets anyway.

I was treated to Sunday lunch here by some friends. We each chose a different meal and all of us happy with our choice. They did a traditional Sunday lunch of Roast Beef and a good choice of typical pub grub meals. We were served by a friendly waiter. The prices were very reasonable.

Pub grub nothing more nothing less.. Prices exceptable for standard of food. The jacket potato which came with salad was poor and cutlery was dirty and plates had that wet dirty dog smell. I personally shall not eat there again having said that you get what you pay for. Staff were polite and helpful.

Was abit cautious after reading reviews but wanted to try somewhere new....food was really good...lots of places to sit. The tv screen at the table kept kids entertained. Good cocktails but rose wine tasted of vinegar. My big daddy burger was yum but came with chips instead of wedges. Good service too will go back again

Judging by the mixed reviews I guess you have to drop lucky with this place. A family group of six of us decided to have our evening meal and arrived without any great expectations. The meals were fantastic and we are fussy eaters! Beautifully fried fish and chips, and sizzling pepper steaks. Reasonably priced and good service. Will definately be going back so hope this quality is maintained.

In general the food is completely tasteless .I and my husband had the all day breakfast which was absolutely covered in grease.one of the children had ribs,and the other chicken nuggets both were left mainly untouched.staff hopeless and very slow.No I would not recommend eating here.

Not my normal type of venue but was very pleasantly surprised ..... went on the spur of the moment for a late Monday night supper. Great staff, reasonably priced premium drinks, and an excellent succulent and tasty12oz rump cooked exactly how I asked for it for just £8.99 - No hesiation recommending and will be back soon

We went to the court leet for dinner, sat outside in the garden kids enjoy it, when I went to order the staff where all smiley and happy. When are meals came the waitress was great. Enjoy our meals kids had a great time will be going again with the kids

8 of us visited on Wed. May 6th. The meals were bought 2 at a time at 3 or 4 minute intervals. My meal was one of the first bought and my chips were cold by the time the others arrived. I could not have started my meal as we actually had to ask for cutlery after all the meals had arrived, and had to wait several minutes for it. We then sat with dirty plates on the table for about 15mins. We then ordered sweets, and had to request that the table be cleared. The food was average and we did eat it. Did not leave a tip, and am writing to complain.

Looks good from Car Park and road, but is somewhat well worn, albeit quite acceptable. Liked the Sky TV in Booth and Pool Table.Staff very friendly and welcoming and nice atmosphere on our lunch-time visit.Ordered two meals for seven quid or whatever. With drinks and a side order, total came to around eleven quid, which was extremely satisfying. Service generally good although a little slow considering not many customers. table had traces of last occupants meal.Gammon, chips and peas OK although had tomato replaced as it was partly charcoal. Fish and chips OK but nothing special. Sponge pudding to die for, even though it took 25 mins appearing.All in all your average pub. Tasty and appetising menu with specials on several days.Meals brought to table with a smile which is always welcome and remembered.Value for money - excellent. Manager making great efforts, and succeeding, to give customer a good experience.Well worth popping in if passing.

Great pub with friendly staff and a nice, welcoming atmosphere. Definitely recommend go anyone who wants to go from just a quick pint with a friend to taking out the family. Affordable food, well priced drinks and good social features such as a pool table and dart board. Also shows the sport channels!!

Me and my wife were staying just down the road and decided to nip out for a bite to eat, drove past the hungry horse and from the outside looked promising!From the minute we walked in the mood dropped, first of all the first off put was the majority of the drunken men in the pub learing at my wife which made us uncomfortable, then walked into the bar area where an object (obviously a local) said with an unwelcoming tone "you'd be better off in there love"Ok, the issues with the locals isn't really the pubs fault but then we went to find a table to eat, instantly there was a strong waft of urine and that's the last smell you need when you're hungry. We drank up sharpish and left, if I was dying of thirst I'd rather drink out of the river than enter this place again!

After a great stay in the premier inn, breakfast is served in here.Not great at all, coffee tasted "off"??? Just didn't taste right and I drink enough coffee to know.The two ladies working were constantly huddled together chatting and didn't really seem to give a hoot. After dodgy coffee my "Full English" arrived......Under cooked bacon, I'm sure I heard it oink it was so pink and fried eggs that were not cooked fully. In fact it was all under cooked the hash brown was cold.I leave the sausage till last, where do they buy such cheap sausages from? More leek than meat and again under cooked.My advise to anyone eating here is to ask for everything "well done" The staff just didn't want to know and I'll never eat breakfast here again, spend £3 at McDonald's and get better value for money.

We have eaten here twice in the last fortnight, the first time on a weekday night and we were pleasantly surprised. Nice atmosphere, food good, service good, we now assume this was because it was reasonably quiet. We phoned to book a table for our 2nd visit as we were taking a wheelchair user, explained we needed a table we could get the chair under. Arrived to find the place packed and the table reserved for us was a booth, no chance of getting a wheelchair there then. The only other option was a table right by the door, on a cold busy Sunday evening, we declined, remaining option a table in the "Children's Section" the waitress was very helpful and rushed to clean it for us, despite the fact she was rushed off her feet. The children and there were many, were well behaved, but as most children are, they were also very noisy, so no nice atmosphere for us. We were told there was a wait of 30 minutes for food, we waited approx 40 minutes and then it was very disappointing. The beef was tough with no flavour and the whole meal was cold. The cutlery we were given was disgusting, not just water stained but dried food on them. It was very busy and the staff were rushed, but no one even asked if our meal was ok. Will we be eating there again, probably not.

Once with the boyfriend on a Sunday evening and a late lunch the following Wednesday with my parents who were visiting me.Both times the staff were friendly and were quick to assist with anything we needed, i.e bathroom location, wipe the booth down we chose.3 of us ate here for £36 with a round of drinks, no issues.Menu has a variety... There is a section for children to eat at the back, although some parents think this is ok for their children to run riot... Shhh please some of us are tryin to eat.Will be back.Thanks again

went to one of these in Liverpool and was very impressed, I'm afraid this one is like a completely different chain. Good menu, friendly staff but very average food and quite expensive for what you get.

The Hungry Horse has a good range on the menu and caters for the lower priced market extremely well with an average total cost with drinks being about £10 per person. No surprises as the menu covers your usual burgers, tikka, chicken and chips dishes but the quality is okay. They also show football on screens and some of the tables have their own TV's so it's perfect for eating whilst watching football on TV if the big match is on. Lots of special deals including 2 for £10 deals on Sunday Roasts. It's not fine dining but if you want cheap and cheerful it will do the job. The staff look like they are run ragged sometimes and often just have too much to do so sometimes you may need to repeat what you asked for as they are trying to serve many at the same time.

Few things to mention about this place from our visit at 7.30 PM on 19/10/2014. The first being the disgusting tables, many of them had food and glasses left on them for the duration of our stay. Even when our food was brought to us, the staff did not think to take away the plates and glasses from the number of tables around us. And now we come onto the food, the chicken newyorker was so dry that I had to return it for a refund. It was like eating rubber, usually I shut up and put up. But with chicken being the main part of the meal I was unable to eat this. No drinks were offered which is fine, they don't have to. But it would not have been a miss. Now we come onto the drinks, the beers were fine but the coca cola had a taste of cleaning product, which I put down to the fact that it was because I brushed my teeth and was tasting the menthol, but after others took a sip, they could taste it too! And finally the bar staff were terrible, a young lad and a lady were often seen and heard larking around like they are back at school. It was kind of embarrissing as I had took my parents out for a meal on Sunday evening. I have been to this hungryhorse before and found it to be really good, which is why I drove from Birmingham (after the BUPA Marathon for some food, what a complete waste of time that was. I ended up buying a bag of fish and chips from the chippy that was down the road.

Starters came out and were a little greasy. The biggest problem was that the cutlery was not clean. It took an age for staff to return with fresh, and then there wasn't enough for the 9 of us dining. Main courses were ok, though chips didn't cut muster from what I heard. Desserts. Not good. Mainly of the cleanliness of the plates. There was dried on food on trek dishes. The atmosphere is ok, though slightly noisy, and very warm. There is no air con and it would seem no opening windows. Coffee (2 lattes) took about 15 minutes to arrive.

Wish we had read trip advisor before venturing out or went to Throckmorton instead. First and last time we shall eat here. Tasteless microwave food that company have the bare face cheek to charge for!!!!!!We shared our starters of chicken 'tasteless' strips and 'tasteless' stuffed mushrooms.My husband was given wrong meal - Chicken New Yorker. I did wonder why the meat looked so white, (shall get to that in a mo). Mistake was quickly rectified and he was presented with meal he ordered - grilled gammon. If grilled why was it swimming in taste of old frying oil????? Absolutely disgustingI had ordered the Saucy Chicken. One word to capture the meal and taste.................. microwaved. This also explains why the meat was so white. I had mistakenly ate a piece of chicken with skin.................... slug bouncing in mouth came to mind.Redeeming feature were the attentive, welcoming staff.

Ordered the curries and it looked and tasted fine but We were very ill that night, won't be going back. Also had the meal deal including drinks but got charged extra as we ordered wrong lager, surely they could have said at the time.

Visited here for my sisters birthday.I really liked the televisions in the booths and that's the only thing I liked.The place was old looking and needs a bit of TLC.The menu is physically too large and there is too much to choose from (didn't seem too badly priced at first).The bar staff when ordering must have just taken a 10 minute course on how to work the till but not a very good one as I had to keep being asked to bear with him while he did something (I work behind a bar myself so knew not to overload and gave small snippets of information at a time), he had the personality of a fish and couldn't even fill a pint correctly bit when I asked him to fill my pint to the top as you're meant to, gave a look as though it was an inconvenience.When the food came, it came in dribs and brabs and I then understood why it was price not too bad, they had clearly found the food on the street. It was dry, tasteless, burn, cold and looked like something you wouldn't even cut up and give to your dog.I couldn't complain because there was no manager to be seen and as I mentioned the bar staff weren't the brightest.I was very disappointed as I was looking forward to eating here from what I'd heard from people, but won't be making the mistake if returning any time soon.

We go here most weeks as a family. Food good and great value. Brilliant atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff.

Been here before thought try again . To our dismay again no non alcoholic drink of kopperberg . We had burnt garlic bread which we eat because of being hungry no cutlery served until main coarses was delivered .wall next to table had memories of people past on it . Overall food was ok but will not be entering through thease doors again and going to Droitwich as its a million times better

there were 4 of us who thought we would go here for a change as it is local to us, the food was terrible i had ribs which i had to send back as they were way over done and so hard you could not cut into the meat, the 2nd time round was not much better,so i left it, i also have never had ribs with baked beans before. the floor in the pub was a discrace with food and rubbish all over it, and for a friday evening it was not that busy. this was the 2nd and the last time here, stay away

Went as a party of 8 for our family Christmas meal. Couldn't knock it at all. Good food, good service, good vfm if you dont mind "family" pubs.

We love going to speciality restaurants for a date night but that is most certainly not what this place is for. It's a Hungry Horse which is all about cheap, big plate food with entertainment for the kids. I personally think it does exactly what it 'says on the tin'. My kids are fully entertained in the play area or outside and we get a cheap mid-week family meal out (and we think the food is pretty decent actually) we've eaten there about 12 times and have never had any issues such as frozen food. If you want posh grub then don't go here. If you want decent pub grub, cheap, with your kids entertained that I don't think you can ask for anymore than here!

Poor service, poor food and fulls of kids and the tracksuit wearing fraternity. The three of us did not finish our meals it was that poor. The screaming kids running amok did nothing for the visit, along the the could not care less 'parents' ignoring their behaviour. Like another said - 'avoid like the plague', there are plenty of good places to eat in Bromsgrove.

Terrible service, food was awful microwaved mess, combined with dirty cutlery and lipstick stained glasses from the previous customer. It's full of lads that apparently require security guards to ensure they're kept in order! Not a place to take the family at all!

When it first opened the food was great. After visiting since I feel it's already changed and gone downhill. My son had a pizza that came out frozen... Now I no mistakes can happen but it was only a Chicago town pizza that you shove for 3 mins in a microwave overpriced at £3.99?.also on one visit they ran out of sausages? And all day breakfast minus sausage? Not quiet the same although I gained extra bacon.The childrens area is fantastic the kids love it, also the outside play area is great but if you want a cigarette you have to stand outside in this area also?.And the puddings...wow love the door stop sized portions. I would return just for these, and you can take them away..x

The first time we went it was a good experience everyone seemed helpful and the food was very reasonable but after returning a second time it seems as if they have dropped there standards, hopefully it was a one off, will try it again hopefully it will be better
