Hungarian's Restaurant in Blackpool

Excellent Service and fantastic food. We were in Blackpool for the weekend and fancied trying something different. I have to say I was blown away with the flavours that we experienced. My daughter (who can be a fussy eater) ate everything. I had Goulash soup followed by the stuffed cabbage leaves which were exceptional. As a family we loved the meal. Service was great and if you are in Blackpool I would recommend popping in. We will definitely be back next time we venture up here…

Spotted this restaurant last time i was in Blackpool, having never noticed it before, so I decided to give it a go, even though I didn't know anything about Hungarian cuisine, apart from goulash. It was a great meal, piping hot, had soup and the stuffed cabbage leaves and a desert. The service was warm and genuinely friendly unlike so many other places these days. It is definitely a 'hidden gem', and I can't wait to try some more food on a future visit to Blackpool, even worth coming just for this restaurant. Independent places like this need to flourish, against the often bland chain restaurants

We booked the Hungarian as we wanted to try something different. We have previously holidayed in Hungary, so we’re familiar with the food. Service was first class and very friendly. We both went for the two course early evening menu. For the main course I had the Chicken Bakyoni whilst my wife had the Stuffed Cabbage Leaves. Both dishes were very enjoyable. We would recommend trying this restaurant.

We'd been here before, a few years ago, and were happy to find out it was still going. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food, especially as so much is actually brought in from Hungary - for instance, the beer wasn't 'brewed in the UK under license', it was genuinely Hungarian, as was the wine. Add that to tasty food, and you can't go wrong.

Absolute gem! Hand-made traditional food, cooked with passion. Don't miss it if you're in Blackpool and looking for good food!

Amazing food I had the pork medallions, great service considering we were a party of 11. Loved that they were only playing abba music.

A hidden gem. As a group of 11 they accommodated us amazingly, we booked with 30 minutes notice. From the get go we were told that food might be slower as they only have 1 chef, and for a large group we expected it. The food options all sounded so good, it was hard to choose. But going for the traditional Hungarian options was a great decision. I'm a person who can usually eat and eat, but I was absolutely stuffed after the food here. The quality is exceptional, the presentation was beautiful, and the serving sizes are great. If this is your first time having Hungarian, as it was for me, I recommend trying some of the more unique options. I had the Meat Pancake for starter, and the Goulash for Mains.

It was its uniqueness on a list of same and similar pizza or fish and chips - not that there’s anything wrong with Fish and Chips, at the seaside, it’s obligatory! We have been to Budapest, loved the food so that’s why we came to this first floor restaurant on our overnight stay in Blackpool. He had the Beef Goulash and I had Stuffed Cabbage Leaves, which doesn’t sound to appetising but, the minced pork and rice filling, wrapped in sauerkraut in a lovely paprika sauce was delicious. The Hungarian Riesling was good too. We shared a cake served warm, filled with poppy seeds, the name of which escapes me. Our host was chatty and helpful, suggested our wine and desert choice . It may have been early in the evening, a quiet Thursday out of season, but the welcome could not have been warmer.

Visited this week. Gem of a place hidden from plain site .visited because of goggle reviews and they were accurate. 5 star food delicious hot and served by the host Mirela ,who was attentive beyond belief. As it was December it was a little chilly Mirela brought out a portable heater so we were snug and cosy while we enjoyed the amazing food .more than reasonably priced in a lovely quaint restaurant. More than worth a visit

Our second visit here and every bit as good as the last. Wonderful, tasty food with warm and welcoming staff. Genuine Hungarian cuisine with a lovely range of Hungarian beers and wines to accompany (try the Dracula cabernet sauvignon - fantastic!). You really should try this place.

Never had Hungarian food before so we thought we'd give this a try. We didn't recognize any of the dishes but the lady running the show was able to explain what all of them were. The food was delicious! It is well worth a try

Never had Hungarian food before. Was pleasantly surprised! Absolutely delicious. Bit expensive but I s'pose you get what you pay for.

We had a lovely evening meal here with my friend. The salami plate was delicious with a good selection of authentic hungarian salamis. The chicken schnitzel was gently beaten into 2 thin slices of flavoursome pieces. Finished the evening with complimentary drinks (pálinka). We will definitely return again to try the goulash, stuffed cabbage or the stuffed pancakes Hortobágyi style.

Best restaurant in Blackpool! We had an amazing meal here. The beef mince pancakes are something to die for, and so are the cabbage wraps. Gulash stew and pork medallions for main were delicious. The food is so tasty and we got to ask about recipes and had a lot of info and suggestions. The owner is so welcoming and open to talk too. Best meal in Blackpool!

We dined here two nights on the trot and the food was spot on each time. My dad is Hungarian and I lived there until I was 10 and I can easily say that this is an authentic Hungarian dining experience. I wanted to lick my plate clean! I was also so exited to share this with my English boyfriend who go to eat some delicious Hungarian food who loved the whole experience too. Everything was a 10/10 from the food to the service too.

Booked for a large party of 24, we had the whole place to ourselves - food was pre-ordered with Mirela and everything was spot on - fast service, good food, great wine, we booked a singer to entertain and danced the night away. Mirela gave us all pálinka shorts to finish it off! Great place!

Great little place, very quick service. I got there just in time for the special two course deal, excellent value! I had the creamed aubergine followed by the chicken schnitzel, washed down with a Hungarian lager that was a welcome change from the norm! Try it, you’ll like it!

Best restaurant in the whole Lancashire. Plenty of choices and everything freshly cooked. Very friendly staff and even has a little shop where you can buy and take home a little bit of taste of Hungary. I would highly recommend it.

What a lovely little place great for an evening out the only thing that let this place down and I'm sorry to have to say this as the host was wonderful but the prices are really too expensive and only small portions it's such a shame we couldn't continue eating as it was cleaning out the bank but other then that go for it but around the corner all you can eat for £30 pound when we had to spend nearly that on just two small starters doesn't add up we will not be returning unfortunately but I wish it the very best success. It is accessible on top floor but sadly no disabled access as far as I saw their is a little shop to take home food if you need too it was really really clean couldn't fault the place for its hygiene

Really lovely meal tonight. I'm glad I checked the Internet and previous reviews. Food was superbly cooked, we chose fish and chicken dishes with a Hungarian influence and they were delicious. Lady who served us was so lovely, knowing it was our first visit, she went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Hungarian lager was also really tasty. Can't wait to recommend to others.

Absolutely beautiful-the exquisite food, the authentically decorated restaurant and the attentive service! We had the set menu, which was fantastic value, with lots of choice. If we didn't live 300 miles away, we would be 'regulars'!

If you like anything Hungarian then this is the place for you as the drinks are Hungarian & lots of the food is Hungarian. Food was really tasty & very good portions & the bulls blood wine was excellent. A very friendly restaurant & we are planning to return next time we are in Blackpool.

For me the highlight of my visit to Blackpool. The four of us each had different starters and mains and they were all totally delicious. The restaurant setting is lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and quality dining experience in Blackpool.

I've gotta say after a terrible experience searching high and low across Blackpool for a decent place to eat with our 3 year old, that we are delighted to have stumbled across this little gem! We originally booked for 5pm and had to change for 6:30pm, which Milena (our amazing host) sorted out and called me back to confirm. The entrance is very unassuming, but when you go into the restaurant you get the nice feeling of arriving home. This was reflected through the attentive service and food in general. It was very nice to try some of the recommended spirits to warm us up when we arrived. Further, the recommended Tokaj semi sweet wine was exceptional. As a party of four we all thoroughly enjoyed all of our meals there and will not hesitate to return on our next visit to Blackpool! They also have a little shop within the restaurant to buy all things Hungarian - unfortunately we had to dash off, so didn't have chance to check this out. Milena - thank you for making us all so welcome and complements to your chef too!

We arrived not long before closing time but they were so friendly and accommodating. Food was INCREDIBLE (we had the Bakonyi style chicken with dumplings and the beef goulash with rice) - so much flavour, so comforting. The Hungarian beer was crisp and refreshing to wash it all down and the whole feel to the place made for a wonderful meal! We will 100% be returning next time we're in Blackpool!

So months a go I phoned and booked a table, very nice man confirmed my booking for 20.00 on the 28th August, my birthday, we turned up to be greeted by a waitress who when we told her we had a booking she said really, I said yes she said no booking, thanks Hungarian, you certainly made my birthday memorable Jill Bartlett

We had a fantastic impression overall! Staff amazingly kind. Food fantastic! We had gypsy steak. The meat was literally melting in our mouth. We will definitely go back as soon as we will have the chance. A place to remember! I can only recommend to everybody. Thank you all xx

called to book, was told they only had one chef working so everything would take longer than normal and asked if that was ok with us. Honesty always pays so we said yes and happily waited and it was lovely. My daughter insists on me writing that we had four plates of heaven. Feel good home cooking. And the Lime-Kiwi cordial was excellent!
