Absolutely Beautiful cafe here in Layton, we visited today as a Surprise for one of my friends, and I can't thank the two lovely Ladies who work here for making it even more special with your service you give, Curiositea @ 23 is a small, Cosy but very Welcoming Cafe, I highly recommend you book a table and visit because you won't be disappointed

Actually really enjoyed our time here! Thank you! We had afternoon tea for 4 of us. Massive sandwiches, cakes that are so so soft! Service was so attentive, corrected our pot of tea, tidied things away so we had more room, checking in on us even though the rest of the cafe was full. Definitely recommend, lovely decor, very clean and noticed they have a little notice to 'pay it forward' so less fortunate people can enjoy something tnice to eat or drink :) thank you ladies x

I have both eaten inside and bought from the takeaway menu. This little cafe in Layton is amazing. The food is delicious and nothing is ever too much trouble for the ladies who work there. Their afternoon teas are lovely and you get quite a lot for your money. I would definitely recommend

A bit of head scratching from team member when asked about GF options . A few years ago maybe but most places do have a wide GF carried menu these days

We visited on our way to our hotel in Blackpool and the place was buzzing. Despite being almost full, they were happy to squeeze us in for a quick lunch. The food was lovely and we will definitely go back when we're in the area. It's clearly a very popular place!

After a morning at the tower we decided to have a spot off lunch but being gluten free the only places in town that catered for GF was restaurant s but I just wanted something light like a sandwich. We had been recommended this restaurant but it was just outside off town a 9 minute drive but we decided to try it. I am so glad we did. I had such a selection of food to choose from, so much that I felt really spoilt for choice. In the end I opted for a cheese, onion and chilli jam sandwich. My husband went for the cheese and onion toastie. The food was delicious and so fresh. The owner, a lovely lady came out and we had a good chat about the struggles of finding good gluten free food. So glad we went here one of the best GF sandwiches I have tasted so far on my English travels.

Oh my word this is the BEST afternoon tea I have had. Beautiful soft bread with home made fillings. The biggest cake I have ever seen and delicious scones with clotted cream. A huge pot of tea and what we couldn’t eat we were able to take home. The owner is the sweetest lady who took time to explain the gluten free options for one person and provided the most delicious GF food. We were impressed with all the staff who were friendly and attentive and the owner was a delight, she clearly loves her business and it shows.The decor is warm and inviting and trust me you can’t eat it all!10 mins from the prom the perfect pre light experience and we will be back

Experience from start to finish was excellent. Food was nice sandwiches 🥪 tasted good and a nice selection of cakes 🎂. Well worth the £12 per person for afternoon. Will be returning again soon Thank you 😊

Me and my 2 year old girl came in after dropping my car off at a garage in the area. The cafe itself is very lovely looking! I ordered us both food and it was very tasty and yummy and big portion sizes! Very reasonably priced also. Just before seeing this cafe we very nearly ended up going to subway and honestly so glad we avoided it and their ridiculous prices, I paid less than I would of there we got to sit in a cosy warm cafe and the food and staff was great! The staff are so polite and nice and when leaving they offered to put my little girls left over food ina take away box and put her milkshake ina to go cup and just very helpful! Will be coming again!!

What an amazing coffee shop. Nothing was too much trouble for us. The lady who owns it had so much knowledge on gluten free as he dad has it and she took her time to tell us things which were gluten free(which was most of the menu) and even said she had different mayonnaise in the back. The portion sizes are huge and the homemade coleslaw is so fresh. The staff are so lovely and chatty and nothing was too much trouble for them. Honestly it is worth 10 and more. Do not come to this area without stopping in you will not be disappointed ♥

Very generous Afternoon Tea at great value. You choose which sandwich you want from their menu (chips and salad come as standard), then select either a cherry or fruit scone which comes with butter, jam and clotted cream. You choose the cream cake you want from the counter - absolutely huge so decided to bring home to have later!! Choice of tea or coffee. All served beautifully on traditional tiered stand and china cups /plates. All for £12 per person and the service was great - very friendly and we were served promptly. Will definitely go there again and can highly recommend.

If you like home made lunches, affordable prices, decent portions, family friendly atmosphere this is the cafe for you!!! I took my 2 children there also my inlaws who live abroad when they visited. I have moved out of town now but id go back for this cafe!!! Friendly staff, delicious food!

Went in September with my 3 children. Ordered bubble tea for the children (I'd never heard of it before but the children were very excited to try) I had a pot of tea and we all had a cake each. Wow! The cakes were amazing, the children loved their tea and I was a very happy mum! The cakes were so big we couldn't finish them so the staff got us take away boxes and paper bags so we could take them home. Cleanliness 10/10 friendliness 10/10 food 10/10Will be back!!!!

My family of 4 visited this wonderful little gem when visiting from N.Ireland. We researched that they offered GF afternoon tea. It certainly did not disappoint. We booked a table, which was no trouble to the lovely friendly staff. The food was amazing, the staff where so friendly. Portions were huge. Nothing was any trouble. In fact it was so good we called in a second time for lunch, before we returned home. Again we experienced the same 5* treatment and food. We will definately be returning on our next trip to Blackpool. Highly recommended *****

I’m a bit late writing this but I’ve seen a couple of bad reviews and it doesn’t seem warranted at all. I’ve recently moved to the area and visited a couple of weeks ago with my daughter. We sat outside as it was a nice day. The owner came out and had obviously had a stressful day (I think 2 men had run out on their tab) but was polite and took our order within a reasonable time. She said that there may be a bit of a delay on the food. It didn’t bother us but within 15 minutes, we were given our meals. Absolutely lovely food and fresh. We both really enjoyed it. We didn’t have any cake but they looked lovely too and will try them next time.

Visited a couple of weeks ago. Ordered a “full English” wasn’t too keen. Told at first they didn’t do them as they didn’t warm the plates. No issue about cold plates. Didn’t ask what type of egg we wanted and we got fried and it didn’t have much taste. Food was okay but wouldn’t return. Friendly staff. Clean. Can sit in or take away. The cakes looked really good! I am probably just picky.

Great wee place me and 2 friends visited from Scotland and didn't disappoint we had the lotus biscoff lattes and bacon sausage and egg batons which were huge! Tasted fresh out of all the places we looked at in Blackpool we came here and glad we did! Anytime I'm in Blackpool I'll visit here without question. Staff are really nice and look really happy to work here and a pleasant welcome

Went twice during our one week visit to Blackpool, this small cafe is in Layton area and is out of the town. We done the afternoon tea on our first visit which was really good and you can take away what you don’t eat. On our 2nd we just done a normal lunch, friendly staff and definitely reasonable pricing so definitely recommend.

Had lunch here today for the first time and it was fabulous! From the minute we walked in we were made really welcome. The coffee shop is spotless and the food and service brilliant all within a lovely friendly atmosphere. I was even given some ice packs by the lovely kind owner so I could take my cake home on a hot sunny day. Thankyou! We will certainly be going back to this lovely little gem

First class little cafe in Layton with good service .young lass who served ever so pleasant and the food is fi rst class not overly expensive well presented and tasty someone at side of me had afternoon tea looked divine and plentiful ,tables cleaned just after use so well done all

Wow what an amazing find. Struggling to find gluten free take away or cafe in Blackpool and our friend came across CuriosiTea @23 on Facebook. I rang to check what they had that was gluten free and was impressed with their response so I booked a table.Staff were amazingly friendly and knowledgeable. The owners dad is coeliac so they are aware of issues and know what to do. Kitchen is separated and nothing has a chance of cross contamination. I had the triple decker club toasties, and yes it was toasted (everything is cleaned down before gf food is put on it), with chips (all chips are gf). Its was fab. All their sandwiches can be gf and they even only use gf Sausages. Cakes available too. I am sold and will definitely be back. My friends were amazed too. Well done guys. See you next time

We visited the tea rooms this afternoon and were delighted with our whole visit. Amazing afternoon tea that was beautifully presented and very tasty. An excellent choice of cakes available and sandwich fillings, so much choice!!! Very attentive staff and immaculately clean. Fantastic value for money and a real treasure of a venue. I’ve visited this cafe a good few times over the last few years.Everything is brilliant especially the afternoon tea and cakes, not to mention the huge portion sizes on the specials!The treat bags for £1 are brilliant value.This place does so much for the community too.Support this local business, you won’t be disappointed

We visited here during a couple of nights away in Blackpool as we had seen that it was recommended for gluten free options (not that easy to find in Blackpool) as wellas being 5 mins walk from our holiday home. Had some takeaway food which was delicious and we enjoyed it so much that we returned the following day for a sit in lunch. Lots of choice, lots of gluten free options and the staff are really friendly. Very Covid conscious as well so also felt very safe in the current climate! Would thoroughly recommend!

Excellent food and service. The afternoon tea is especially good and great venue for money. Beth, our server was great (also her birthday today, Happy Birthday!) Overall a brilliant find with great friendly staff, fab homemade cakes and brilliant service.

We had a Saturday afternoon tea, it was lovely. Good choice of sandwiches and cakes. The tea was nice and strong. Sue is absolutely wonderful and the staff are attentive and friendly. The portions are huge, so much so we had to take doggy bags home with us, although the dog won’t actually see any of it because it’s too good to share.

Very clean and staff is so friendly! My veggie breakfast was delicious, 100% recommend for breakfast in Blackpool!

Went for the pizza box Friday deal both pizzas were cooked to perfection with plenty of topping. My wife got the afternoon tea deal which was huge and full of everything that tastes delicious. We will be returning. We'll done to the staff there for their hardwork

Came for afternoon tea today, food was lovely and there was so much we had to take some home! Everything was fresh and served quickly! Happily return again, staff were lovely and couldn’t have done anymore for us! Excellently priced too 👍🏽

Well we returned again and again to this beautiful little cafe this time 15 of us all served with a smile nothing too much trouble the staff are lovley the food is amazing the potion size is huge definatly worth every penny the owner sue is run off her feet but still finds time to say hello all in all 10/10 we will be back soon

15 of us went for lunch to the new premises today. Food was hot, plentiful( no one leaves hungry) & served quickly so we all ate together. Staff are wonderful. Polite, efficient, friendly & nothing is too much trouble. Even our fussier ladies found nothing to complain about & prices are very competitive. The coffee is fresh & delicious & tea is served in dainty cups. We had booked for 11 people but Sue was totally unfazed by the extra people & managed to accommodate us all. Next time we plan to test the afternoon teas which look absolutely amazing. Beautiful little cafe planned & built by 2 very hardworking people. A little gem.

I was given a gift voucher for my birthday and decided to go on a rainy Monday afternoon the staff were very friendly making us feel very welcome and the afternoon tea was delicious well worth the money we will be back very soon

Such a wonderful shop. The owners have worked so hard to make this little shop warm and inviting. The staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. It truly is the heart of the community.The food is gorgeous and the cakes are huge. Luckily there is always the option of a doggy bag for the cakes to come home, if like me your tummy isn't big enough.

Only booked the night before and the owner was very accommodating. My children weirdly don’t like many sweet things but again the owner couldn't do enough for them, asking them what they like before she brought it over. Food was delicious and the cakes are massive! For £6 for afternoon tea, no you aren’t going to get Prosecco and a perfectly matching dinner set but you will get lovely food and very friendly staff! Thank you xx

I met my colleague here for a catch up over lunch. The cafe is spotless and decorated really well. The food was delicious. I had a healthy breakfast of bacon, poached egg tomato, beans and wholemeal toast. It was tasty, hot, frash and good quality. My colleague had steak pie chips peas and gravy. It was a generous portion and that too was delicious. We love what Suzanne and the team do here for the community in Layton ❤

This cafe is more then just a cafe, its an experience that you will go back for time and time again. From the friendly staff, to what the Owner Sue does for the customers and the wider community. They help out the less fortunate in a multitude of ways, and you can really feel the community spirit. Its not all about the money here, but about sharing an that's lost in this world these days. Getting back to the cafe itself the prices are amazingly affordable, the portion sizes amazing but the cream of the cake, if you would excuse the pun! is the amazing afternoon teas not only for adults but for the kids to which are so generous we always need to take home items for later! which the staff happily provide a little box and bag for. The coffees are great, I love a latte and theirs always satisfy. This cafe is a gem, and full credit goes to the Owner and great team of girls. Always lovely to see their smiling faces. We always book in advance as this gem gets so busy ! Its quite a drive for us to get to but worth every mile.

Booked for afternoon tea for 6 of us plus grandson and when we arrived the table was beautifully laid with china plates and cutlery and fresh daffodils which was lovely seeing as the weather is so wild at the minute.

Popped by for lunch and was surprised to find every table already taken - oh no! However, the staff were really accommodating and created a table for us, which was very much appreciated. The cafe is really bright and clean, with a lovely atmosphere and friendly customers too. The cakes on display in the refrigerator look fantastic, but we resisted and had a very tasty and fresh breakfast and omelette - both well presented. Other customers were making their way through the full afternoon tea experience, which looked incredible! The menu contains everything you'd expect from a local cafe, but at a quality that far exceeds. It's great to have such a place on our doorstep! Looking forward to introducing the cafe to my friends and family.

Today I went with a group of friends to CuriosiTea At 23 for afternoon tea. As a coeliac I am used to receiving inferior food at these events. What a surprise! This was the best gluten free afternoon tea I have ever had. There was plenty to eat with two barrmcakes, chips, three assorted cake slices and a scone, all delicious. It made a change to have people envy my gluten free food ☺ Would definitely recommend to anyone needing gluten free food

Sadly I don't have time to sit and eat a full meal but I have eaten many bacon Butties from Curiousitea@23 they are the best. Eat in or takeaway always lovely bacon and soft barm cakes. I can't wait to go for lunch and try the other things on the menu.

My husband and I have just enjoyed afternoon tea at this amazing cafe. The food was great value, well presented and very tasty! The atmosphere in the cafe is the excellent and the staff very helpful. I would definitely recommend this to everyone. I booked the table in advance asking for a well lit table because my husband is severely sight impaired and a table was reserved next to a large bay window. Well done to Sue and her staff for making us feel so welcome and comfortable.

After having invited a dear friend out for Afternoon Tea we were at a loss as to where to go. Research on the internet clearly pointed us to 'CuriosiTea At 23' and so we called ahead and asked them to hold a table for 3.

This was my first time at the new shop and the work that Sue and Steve have put in truly shows.

I came for morning tea with my friend, after asking about allergys I found I couldn have 2of the items, sue kindly swooped my morning tea for a loverly breakfast barm.

Called in yesterday for lunch and it was busy as always. One of the young waitresses came over and suggested she took my mobile number and called us when a table was free, what a brilliant idea. We did our shopping and got the call that our table was free. I had the best omelette I’ve ever tasted and my husband had a breakfast. Good quality ingredients, staff were perfect, cafe spotless, what more can anyone ask for. Well done Sue and you staff, a pleasure to visit and so glad you’re back

Loved this place before they changed venue and I love it even more now. The menu is great and reasonably priced, great service and lovely decor. The pay it forward board is such an amazing way to give back to the community and help those in need. I will definitely visit again xx

We had a special birthday for a member of staff, so we asked Sue to prepare us a little buffet for the office. There were mountains of sandwiches and a good selection of cakes, which everyone really enjoyed. We even had leftovers, due to the quantity. The quality and price was amazing, and we would highly recommend.

I had an afternoon tea here with some friends to celebrate my upcoming wedding. It was a really lovely afternoon. Sue was a brilliant host and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was top notch with a lovely selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones. There was so much food we had to take a lot of it home and the offer to pack it all up for us was a really nice touch. Fantastic place, brilliant staff, great food. I’ll definitely be going back.

Went here after such good reviews for the afternoon tea-,not realising quite how far out of town it was! But boy it was worth it. Amazing selection of sandwiches , cakes and scones beautifully presented on an eclectic selection of crockery. Lovely little gem of a tea shop

Called in for a quick cup of tea whilst out shopping. Very friendly staff and plenty of choices in the menu with specials as well . Very good prices. Just felt like being at home

Another afternoon tea that becomes fairly predictable and repetitive. Children took the chocolate cake we took scones . Fruit juice and tea 4 2 for us. Staff are friendly and welcoming

I arrived at lunch time and the cafe only had two tables free, as I had a pram I asked where would be best to sit as I didn’t want to be in the way.. the counter staff weren’t very helpful until I suggested I’d better come back another time. The table I was given was a pop up plastic table with a dirty cloth covering it, it was full of crumbs and the table was very off balance, which is not the best when sitting with a one year old at the table. I ordered the vegetable soup and sandwich, the soup was barely warm and didn’t taste of very much, my little one enjoyed it fortunately but I did not. One waitress in particular was very friendly and appeared to make an effort to speak to everybody, I didn’t catch her name but she had blonde hair in a pony tail and wore glasses. The other waitress and counter staff enjoyed friendly chat with the customers who appeared to be regulars but others were not really acknowledged. For example when waiting to place my order, the waitress walked past me two or three times to clear up or set other tables and only asked for my order once I asked if I could order. Overall the concept of the cafe seems nice but I think it’s a place for regulars really and doesn’t really have space for prams or wheelchairs.

Called in for an Afternoon Tea with my niece and nephew. Lovely presentation on a mini picnic bench. Lovely food. Friendly atmosphere. They also have a pay it forward board that is used to feed the local needy.

This lovely cute cafe is a must , myself and my children have been several times we have had breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and also just been in for tea and cake (my children’s favourite )

Had a buffet ordered from sues for my little girls christening and oh my what a buffet! It was amazing! All our guests commented on it and I genuinely thought it was fabulous. If you need a party catered for this is the place to go! We asked sue if she could add a cake for one of our guests whose birthday it was and she made up a special box just for them- tremendous customer service. Just awesome. 3 of us booked a table for lunch as a little treat. Out table was set with a cloth, we were encouraged to take our time, our dietary needs were addressed & met. The staff are unbelievably friendly & helpful, nothing is too much trouble, the atmosphere is lovely. Regulars popped in & out for takeaway meals, children were welcome, in fact everyone is welcome. Our meals were generous, beautifully prepared & delicious. Our drinks came in China cups & saucers with extra hot water. The choice of meals is extensive for such a small cafe, & the cakes & coffees are wonderful. They even have a selection of fruit teas & coconut milk drinks. Free meals are on offer for those less fortunate & there is a free shop with goods for anyone in dire straits. Clean, light & airy, good food, great service & giving back to the community. A perfect little local cafe that deservedly has faithful regulars. The afternoon teas are wonderful but be warned, you need to book to guarantee a table, it is a very popular venue for ladies groups & those just wanting a treat. Give it a visit. You will not be disappointed.

Took the kids for afternoon tea they both said wow when it came out and they enjoyed it very much. The grown up afternoon tea was lovely as well we liked the fact you could pick which cake and sandwiches you liked to have . Very good service and a very good price .. we will be returning soon

Fantastic cafe with friendly, socially responsible generous staff. The hub for many customers to feel relaxed make friends and eat a good meal.

Today was my second visit and won’t be my last. Such a wonderful atmosphere, the staff are so welcoming. The afternoon tea was wonderful! I was defeated by the cake, but the lady gave a tray to bring it home. Definitely a place where you get a great service with a smile. It appears to be the heart of a community. The friendliest place to eat. All the family pop in on a regular basis.i pop in most days. The food is always well cooked and prepared. Daily specials that you can't believe the price of. All this is served with smiles and happy atmosphere. Sue provides a community atmosphere and activly supports her local community while maintainig the highest standards.

We live close by and come regularly to the “breakfast shop” as my young son calls it. We have been coming her since I moved to Layton 5 years ago and have had nothing but lovely food and great service, ASIDE from all the other amazing things Sue does for the community & homeless, she still manages to provide excellent quality food & always with a smile. My son gets very excited about taking family members who travel up from London, who are all equally as impressed. It’s a small cafe in a small village style area with a huge heart. Highly recommend. This place also offers a pending board so that you can purchase a meal for someone who may not be able to afford one! That alone makes this place one in a million in my opinion.
