Service With Continental servers from Portugal, France, Spain, etc. there is a buzz and vibe to the place that is very appealing. It feels as if you've discovered somewhere secret, secluded, and special. Menu There were limited options for lunch on the one pager, but we found the quality of food delivered to be outstanding. Sauces seem to be their strong point , that and sophisticated sides. The mains. Roasted mushrooms in a creamy and earthy sauce – rich and satisfying. Flatiron steak with chimichurri sauce – nicely cooked and a quality cut. Sides of hash brown potato, polenta fries, and a winter salad with warm vegetables – you are unlikely to experience better in a bistro setting. Top show. Liquids This was the weak link in the chain. A bottle of the cheapest red wine on the menu was £46! A wine I liked the look of but could not afford by the bottle, was priced at £17.10 a glass. No thank you. So, I went for the beer option with a number of small bottles brewed by Toast on offer. I love lager and IPA but this one literally, LITERALLY tasted like washing up liquid. The contrast between the quality of the food and the overpricing of the wine and the dodgy nature of the beer was stark. Go for one and avoid the others. Conclusion All in all, if you focus on the food, go for the atmosphere, interact with the staff, and turn up with great people, you will have a positive and memorable time. Alternatively, attempt to get invited by someone obscenely rich, who only has six months left to live - and have them choose and pay for a couple of bottles of wine. Recommended.

I am probably one of their most regular customers so might be biased but…. To me it is a perfect venue - the ambience is great which is a good start but the service is also excellent - always well looked after and even being squeezed in at the last moment on a busy night. Even being well looked after notwithstanding large party next door. Wide selection of wines including those on the wine list and then those in the ‘fine wine corner’. Good knowledge about the wines too. I tend to either have a few nibbles and/or some cheese or charcuterie but last week we had lunch there and the cote du boeuf was irresistible and perfectly cooked. I love my food and wine and I think I might have visited 4/5 times during December alone which probably speaks for itself……

We ordered festive menu ahead of time for a Christmas work meal (just 4 people) and found the table decorated with crackers and festive menus. So far so good. After we placed orders, we were advised there was an issue since “we had not indicated ahead of time” that we would be having the festive menu. This is despite Christmas crackers and the festive menus being placed in expectation of our arrival. A real fawlty towers moment. I was then asked to physically “prove” I had emailed ahead of time which I do not appreciate as a patron. Email to assistant general manager was shown and it became clear how unprepared they were. Small hiccup I thought but the worst was to come at 6pm on a Wednesday we then waited ONE HOUR for any food. Not mains but just simple croquettes for starters. Usually in these cases I find staff are at pains to make amends. However in this case barely an acknowledgement of what was unfolding before their eyes. Worse still the cheque was presented without any kind of apology. When I hear the service industry is hurting so much it’s restaurants like these that I will have no sympathy for. I rarely write reviews so realise how bad this was to warrant. There’s lots of choice in London so we can do better and well I don’t need to speak about the food (was simply ok) as they failed on the very basics of hospitality.

Went for an early dinner on Friday 8th September at the Fleet Street restaurant. It was quiet but the venue was so nice with a lovely atmosphere it didn't matter. They closed off the larger space with curtains to make it feel more intimate. Great idea. The food was delicious and so well cooked. My starter of ratatouille tart was one of the best I have tasted. Both of our mains of belly pork and steak were cooked perfectly. The waiters were so friendly, attentive and accommodating. We arrived early but were still greeted with a smile. Will definitely be back and we have recommended Humble Grape to friends and family.

To get here is probabky best to start off at the Bishopsgate entrance to Liverpool street, and head north, with Artillery Lane 5 0metres on the right This is more no thrills, takeaway palce, with few stand up & eats inside...basically. wraps/salad/baguette joint, free tasters, fresh salad options, enticing ...then the wrap was cold, the salad wasn't enough to make the whole outer wrap cold, so the hot fillings wer'e enough to make the meal warm, so disappointing as was the the type of wrap cut meantt a 15% is impossible to chew as its bended over repeatedly...a waste as you can' eat it Quality base filling present but not quantity for proper VFM as was the friendly service
