Humble Fish and Chips in Elmbridge

The food is great, but if your ordering on a Friday night maybe look else where, if you order through Deliveroo, once accepted the order is delayed, we waited over 1.5hrs for our order. Not worth it. Very difficult to complain or reorder else where once the order has been accepted. Classic example of over promising and under delivering. Very disappointing.

Taken nearly 2 hours to deliver takeaway!!! Should have been 50 minutes and cut you off when calling and say ‘ we are packing your order!!’

Had a Pukka pie and chips. The chips were absolutely superb! One of the best chip shops I have been to. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

I’m not from the area , I’m a private hire driver on a wait and return . These were the best fish and chips I’ve had in while. Really hot and very well done with crispy batter.

This is my local fish and chips and I love it. Nice crisp batter, chips aren't soggy and it's always ready in a reasonable amount of time

Had cod, chips and mushy peas. Crispy batter and perfect chips. Online ordering system is well designed and easy to use via Apple Pay, credit card or cash.

Visiting London from Texas and this is my favorite spot for Fish and Chips in Weybridge. The staff is very kind and always provide great service to me and my family. I also recommend their Hot Wings and my younger brother loves the Spicy Chicken Burger. Highly recommend this business for delicious food and great service in Weybridge! (Don’t forget to try the curry sauce 😋)

I was in waiting to order and then another customer came in front of me and went to give his order, the staff did not even say him to wait as i came before him. When i made an order, they took it so long, when they gave me food, i was asking them how long its gonna take as i need to catch the bus as well. They gave me the food and told me to wait till the staff check whether i paid or not. It really does not make any sense because without paying, how the staff gonna know what they are making for me! I felt that they did it on purpose without any valid reason:) Really dissapointed with their service today. Never go back again.

Ordered through Uber Eats…missing one item which was for my teenage lad. Called them and they apologised and promised to send out within 15 minutes. 40 minutes laters I’ve had no choice but to go out and get him something, which completely defeats the object of a delivery takeaway. The food we did get delivered was average at best, although the portions were big

I have ordered chicken wings for the second and final time! I don’t have idea why chicken wings full of breadcrumbs. No taste of chicken, I feel like eating crispy breadcrumbs! Probably most of the store in this area are selling same things so doesn’t worth if you choose to eat that. Service is good but the menu is minimum. Still old style… no meal deal option. This business has lots of opportunities but lack of differentiation make it bad position.

Had seen the reviews & were a bit dubious of what to expect. But, nowhere else really to go for fish & chips, so Humble it was. Well, we must of caught them on a good day. Sat in to eat, food was lovely & fresh & plentiful. Price, quite reasonable, about what you'd expect to pay now days. It's not a Fish & Chip 'restaurant' it doesn't pretend to be, but certainly nothing to complain about. Would definitely go again.

I'm sure the food was nice when left the shop but the delivery driver took 20 minutes to get to us so when the food arrived it was stone cold totally terrible meal I only live just off Weybridge Road

Can't complain about the fish and chips. The girl who took our money was a sweetie and said the wait would be ten minutes. But we had to wait the best part of half an hour and while we waited the surroundings seemed more and more miserable. I expect I will go back but they never have enough chips precooked. The cooks always seem really surprised when the run out of chips as though that's not something they could predict.

This Fish and Chip shop is fab . A lovely little place where they cook the food fresh whilst you wait . We now always go hear when we stay in Weybridge . Cod Roe the best I have ever tasted ! Great value for money . The friendliest staff ever .. young lady with constant smile on her face and nothing is too much trouble 😊 Small seating area is a bonus as I think that predominantly it’s a takeaway . Will visit on next trip in October . So convenient as our hotel is only over the road . Would highly recommend 😊

They are like there name humble

No haddock, no plaice, no rock....Cod? Yes, cod. It was flat and dry on one half inside the batter, like just skin was within. Chips weren't crispy at all and not very warm. The only good thing was the curry sauce. Took 25 mins to wait for such a disappointment. My first visit and will definitely be my last!!

This place is unhygienic, the floors, walls, heated glass compartment, counter etc are filthy the whole environment is dirty, also smells unclean, & behind the counter they are handling everything (handles, boxes tins, money etc) and then handing the food & packing without cleaning their hands. People coming from outside going behind the counter where the food is, chatting away, there is no care to keep the food area hygienic & clean. The cod was dripping in oil, (it seeped through all their packaging, did not look fresh, it wasn’t crispy, it stuck to the box as it was sodden in oil, the chips were pale & soggy too. The shop window next door (where they keep their stock) looks awful, theirs windows are dirty & unwelcoming. If this is what it’s like on the customer side, imagine the lack of care, on the food cooking side. Never again.

Average fish, they say waiting time 10 min, i was waiting 24 min. Never again this place!!!!

Paid £8.50 for a piece of rock.It was sat on the top of the chips.Apart from being all batter, it was so small.I won’t be going back.

The reason I have given this review is the fish is 70% not fresh and the chips are not cooked crispy. When you receive the cardboard box with the items of food you ordered are still swimming in fat/oil ! Please start doing what the customers would love to receive as a quality products for the money paid.

The Large Cod was not fresh and flaky like it should be and the chips were anemic. The chips are always like this but it would lovely to be cooked a little longer so they are crispy on the outside.

This is a very legit place, they do sell chips as well as fish, they are also in Weybridg, bizarre huh?

This is our regular go to when we are in weybridge. Fast delivery and good quality food. Edit This review was originally 5 stars till the bad service yesterday. We went to see my aunt yesterday who can’t leave her home due to not being able. So we placed an order with just eat. The order got confirmed and accepted. It then got stuck on locating a driver for over an hour. So I rang the restaurant and they said they had no drivers. I said to them why are you accepting orders you can’t send out. The man didn’t know what to say to me. I cancelled the order via just eat and my partner took me in the car to collect some so my aunt didn’t miss out. When I was sitting in there I could see a deliveroo driver in there taking out orders. I was so annoyed as I also tried to get delivery from deliveroo and failed. Absolutely terrible service. The man didn’t even say sorry.

Where to start? The chips undercooked and soggy. The fish was definitely not fresh the batter stodgy and not light and crispy, and served in a puddle of oil. All in all safe to say definitely won’t be back here!!

Still a year on and I'm here every fortnight for the best fish&chips around. They know me now, so I call and 10 minutes later, pull up outside and it's brought to the car, with the change out of a £20. Great value for money, great food. What's not to like?

I have eaten fish and chips here before and it was just ok but recently the quality has become very bad and not worth going too. But I will let your minds up yourself. I can promise you that you will just be wasting your hard earned money. Fresh fish does not smell. It only smells bad when the fish is rotten and the Humble Fish & Chip shop on Monument Hill Weybridge Surrey United Kingdom has such rotten fishy smell. Take my word for it !

Always been happy with the food and service from here, very generous portion sizes and lovely freshly made food. I just wish I didn't have to pay for sauces. For the price of the food, we could definitely get a little sachet of sauce! Apart from that, excellent!

Really good fish and chips. Huge, perfectly battered piece of cod, which was so well cooked. The fish was melt in the mouth and batter just the right thickness. The chips were golden and well cooked too, not soggy or over cooked. Highly recommend. I hope it never changes.

During one of the nice hot days we have had recently, myself and my wife went out for dinner. We tried 7 pubs and restaurants, none of which were serving food due to the heat! What??? As a business owner, I find it bizarre that businesses close if circumstances aren't perfect. Maybe I have missed something here.... but maybe not? Anyway, we searched for a food outlet that had bothered to open on this sunny evening and Humble was where we ended up. Well, I believe everything happens for a reason and finding this place was a great end to a frustrating evening. Great fish, not too much batter, lovely chips and a very polite man serving. We will definitely be back next time we are looking for a fish and chip meal. Prices not bad either when everything seems to be getting so expensive! Well done guys....keep up the good work.

A great fish and chip shop with tasty fish available, my only disappointment is that sometimes you arrive to see fish available only to watch it all be given to online orders / Deliveroo and then have to wait half an hour for more.

It's not exactly fine dining but the chips are chippy and the fish is fishy... but the battered halumi is a little cheesy for my liking 😜

Ordered regular cod and chips and they were yummy, not oily and nice and hot. Serving portion was good for the price paid. Only let down was the processing fee 0.50p charged using the online ordering app. I would definitely buy again, possibly order at the counter instead of the App.

Bought two regular size plaice and one portion of chips. Cost £17.20. The batter was very greasy with very little fish inside the batter. Lots of chips but they were also really greasy and were soft and horrible. Not crispy at all. A waste of money as we couldn’t eat the fish and chips soaked it all that greasy oil. First time buying from Humble, will not be going there again.

Bought 5x veggie burgers with chips to take away and consume instantly, yet all of them broke apart in seconds after handling. The worst bean burger structure possibly ever - it didn't just collapse into a few pieces but disintegrated into a weird fragmented paste! Very disappointed kids. Accompanying chips were good hence the 2nd star. Also, no serviettes available on counter. Staff member serving was non-engaging and didn't ask if anything else was needed. Overall, Humble brand is not for us.

Called by last Thursday. TBH,I've never been before, wasn't my 1st choice, but the only 1 open at 3pm. What a good choice! Fish was restaurant quality and the chips were good too. Large & regular haddock plus small chips £17. Now my 1st choice by a country mile in Weybridge. (My mate used to own a local restaurant and he raved over the fish.)

Regular Haddock and chips ordered. The latter was surprisingly plentiful for a regular portion. The fish was inedible though. What should have been flaky white fish, was actually yellowish and solid. Batter didn’t come across as “fresh”. I’ll give it one more go but very disappointed on a first visit.
