Online app took my order and when i turned up for pick up, place was completely shut.

Avoid! Zero stars. Food went in bin. Chips were brown, chicken balls were disgusting and rubbery, curry sauce had separated, sweet and sour sauce looked a very off colour and I wouldn't dare try rice. Absolutely disgusted

Decided to get a Chinese at the last minute so popped into HUI to get a carry out. We order meat spring rolls for two. Tow egg fried rice one shredded chicken in honey and chilly sauce and one special curry. It has to be said this is not the best Chinese we have had. The springs for two had 3 small rolls. They were sour tasting and burnt on the out side. The shredded chicken was over spiced and it came with a gravy rather than a sauce. The special curry looked normal but again spicy. These comments are best on a comparison to other Chinese meal we have had. Probably will not come back as previous reviews state it has gone down hill. Sorry.

Absolutely disgusting food. Firstly It was late. Chow main was tasteless and mushy. Sweet and sour chicken balls were soggy batter with hard dry chicken inside. They were Absolutely tiny. Prawn toast was horrible. Chips all soggy and 2 bags of prawn crackers were completely stale. Family of 5 and noone liked any of it. It was truly the worst takeaway iv ever had. Please believe the negative reviews and don't do what I did and chance it, because this chinese is terrible ! What a waste of money and all in bin. I never leave a bad review but AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

Title: Extremely Disappointed - No Show, No Response I am writing this review with immense disappointment over my recent experience with this takeaway. I placed an order at 21:42 last night, eagerly anticipating a satisfying meal. However, what followed was a complete letdown and an utter lack of service. Upon placing the order, I noticed that the expected delivery time on the Deliveroo app was 22:45, which seemed reasonable. As the time approached, I made an effort to reach out to the takeaway by phone, but my calls went unanswered. My concern grew, and I decided to check the status of my order on the app, only to find that it was still being prepared at 22:45. Desperate for clarity, I called the takeaway multiple times, but my attempts to contact them were met with silence. I persevered, making a total of 32 calls until 23:40, hoping for some sort of resolution. Frustrated and hungry, I eventually turned to Deliveroo for help, asking them to cancel the order. Astonishingly, even Deliveroo struggled to establish contact with the takeaway. The night ended with no food delivered, leaving me without a meal and with a sense of disbelief. It's unacceptable that not only did the takeaway fail to provide the service I paid for, but they also appeared unresponsive even to the Deliveroo team. The takeaway's negligence in fulfilling their commitment is inexcusable. Not only was my night ruined due to their negligence, but they also managed to charge me for an order that never materialized. It's deeply disappointing that a business can take a customer's money without providing the service they promised. I had high hopes for this experience, but the takeaway's actions have left me no choice but to leave a one-star review. I hope this review serves as a cautionary tale for others who are considering ordering from this establishment.

this chinese used to be lovely. the food was once delicious, but lately the quality has gone down. last time i ordered an item was missing and i was never refunded. this time my food quality was poor and my food was very bland yet very spicy. i haven’t left the loo since a while after i ate my food. won’t be ordering from here again unless quality improves.

Orderd from here last night Worse Chinese ever reheated chips and green mold on them in prawn crackers were so soggy in big massive lumps of curry powder lying at top of curry never be back

This used to be a really good Chinese and we were always happy with food received. Possibly a new chef or new owners because it is now vile! Received our food tonight which cost over £40 and disappointed with every dish - salt and chilli chicken, honey chilli chicken and special fried rice. Will not use this Chinese again and do not recommend.

I selected the Hui Chinese as it was local and the delivery time was quicker than most . I ordered through Just-Eat and the meal arrived in approx 30 mins which was good. Unfortunately the food was nothing short of disgusting the BBQ spare ribs were tasteless and the sauce was like water with absolutely NO taste whatsoever. The chicken and chilli chips was also tasteless and the chips were soggy and had been lying for some time. We had a separate portion of deep fried chilli chicken and this was the same very bland and no Taste. We were that disappointed we called the take away and complained and were offered another take away as a good will jesture but honestly I wouldn’t order any food again from this take away !! We were declined a refund as we ordered through Just/eat and we’re advised to complain to them which I did but were refused a refund !!! How can Just-Eat deliver for a take away when the food is disgusting surelybthere need to be checks on the quality of food being delivered ??? Just-Eat are simply saying they will deliver ANYTHING to get money of customers !!!

Yuk! This has to be one of the worst Chinese take-away meals that I have ever had! I ordered a 'Combination Curry' and a portion of 'Fried Rice'. Although the rice was okay, the combo's curry sauce tasted like dishwater, which made the pathetically sparse ingredients taste very strange, in addition to jading the taste of the rice. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this establishment, and would discourage anyone from visiting it, too.

Food was good and staff were very polite. The beautiful woman serving me was very friendly and went out of her way to hand me the food.

Delicious, high quality (not greasy) Chinese food. Not many like it in my experience. Was very happy with my Tofu and rice dish. Would it be possible to label all the Vegan dishes online, as I accidentally ordered rice with egg. Thanks Hui!

Discusting customer service, lied to us about our delivery after waiting 2 hours, took our money and still waiting for it to be put back into our account, told us they lost our order, so we'll see if they reimburse us or not, will never use this place again and I'd advise others to do so as well unless they up their game, major disappointment.

Best takeaway ever! Food is excellent, it always arrives hot or warm and always on time. Huge portions too, noodles and rice boxes are full to the top! They also add a little present, like spring rolls and/or prawn crackers, and this time they also engraved a heart on the food box! 🥰 Thanks HUI!

Some of the food is really good But the chow mien is disgusting totally taste less Some times the person taking the orders Orders the wrong stuff so when it’s delivered Check it before you pay if it’s wrong send it all back But most of the food is really good

Half of the order missing & when I called to complain they questioned what I had received as if I was lying! Then received a call saying the driver did deliver the food I ordered so again I was basically a liar! Why on earth would someone lie about not receiving their food! Not happy & would defo think twice about ordering from them again! Ruined food as we had to wait on them delivering food that was missing so all the other food was cold!! When your so looking forward to a takeaway & this happens....

The best Chinese takeaway in Southside of the town. Lovely family run business. Offers best quality food, all staff are friendly, delivery is always on time. They have such variety of food selections includes genuine Chinese food recipe that is the same as if you were eating in china. Definitely strongly recommend it.

I ordered at 8:30 ,it is now 23:07 and j have not received my food. The restaurant would not answer the phone and just eat themselves where unable to get in contact. Shocking service.

I really like their hot and sour soup with Har Gow and think it is very good compared to others I have had. I usually order this with thin noodles and beansprouts which are always good as well. I do always uplift as live really close by. 👍

Very disappointed. Placed an order for a significant amount of food to be delivered at 1905 tonight but got delivered at 1805. Guests havent even arrived and food here. Have phoned shop who aren’t interested 😡

Just moved to the area and this is closest chinese to me. Very poor food found a maggot in rice tonight -13/09/19. Bbq ribs ahhaha all bone no meat on the bone what so ever wont be going back!!

I agree with a lot of the reviews - the food is not as good as it used to be. I had chicken in black bean sauce tonight but it was a very watery sauce. Black bean sauce should be fairly rich. It was also highly laced with jalapeno peppers making it almost inedible. I picked them out and it was much better. The delivery man was very rude. He used my door knocker which is for decoration not use. I recently bought a doorbell which tells the caller that I am on my way as I need time to get to the door. I pointed the bell out to him and he very rudely informed me that he never uses doorbells. Then he shot off before I could say anthing else. I was very angry and still am 3 hours later. .

Wouldnt reccomend this place i ordered at the weekend and have been ill since then ... never again and to get half my order to !!!!!! 😡😡😡

was a waste of time ordered food says on leaflet free prawn crackers with orders over 10 pound so mine came came to 11.50 never go my crackers as was told i was not entitle to them as it was the delivery was 1.50 and it was only orders that were over 10 pound in food that counts to me this is miss leading and food was crap will never be back and would never recommend it to anyone wouldn't waste your time

Very poor food I got a chicken curry there was barley any chicken the curry sauce was very watery big chunks of mushrooms in my food they need to state on the menu where it says free stuff over a certain price that it's only for food so just say you order £10.00 worth of food and it says free prawn crackers then you automatically think that you are getting them because it is over the order price but no it doesn't work like that because I got charged £1.00 for the delivery charge so basically my food only came to £9.00 very misleading if you ask me I thought I would try a different Chinese since I order from the same one all the time and there food is lovely but from now on I will just stick to my normal one thank you.

Do not buy from HUI i read the reviews and thought it would be okay but as someone else said the food has changed drastically since last owner and has gone down hill massively. the food is never fresh, beef was not cooked properly and all the dishes we boughr were very lackluster in the ammount of meat per portion. please dont waste your money. theres a chinese in gracemount. i certianly wont order from hui again.

Good food although there was a shan amount of meat in everything I ordered, and hardly any seafood in the chow mein, left disappointed.

Have used this Chinese for the last 3 years. Never had a bad meal until tonight. I got beef with OK sauce, which I almost always get. Straight awapy I could taste that the beef wasn't right. I asked my boyfriend to try it and he said I was right. So we phoned and asked for another dish to be sent, the same one but with pork this time. As I work in a restaurant i honestly thought there would be no issue with replacing the dish in order to keep a customer happy. The lady(?) said they only normally send the same dish but as the beef tasted off I told her I was not eating the beef again. So she agreed to send pork. After around 20 minutes she called me back to say they weren't prepared to give me a replacement meal or my money back as there was nothing wrong with the beef. I imediately put the food back in its box and took it along for them to try for themselves. The lady (?) was very rude when I walked in, rolling her eyes at me. The "manager" then came through and handed me my money back. That's all they had to do in the first place or replace the dish in order to keep us as customers but I will never order from this takeaway again. They need some training in customer service.

Poor service ordered a small amount off food , was told 40-60 minutes ok but strange on a week day 90 minutes later called to be told once she spoke to several people it was being cooked now !! And the usual excuse we are busy only one cook ! Ok good one then don't take any more orders then !!! Shocking poor I will not use again and I will let all the people off gilmerton know about this as well ' ! Discrasefull
