Hudson's Wine Bar in Wandsworth

We sere staying in the hotel so went to Hudson's a few times for drinks which was good and the service was nice also. We had dinner one night and the service was very good and the food was also good.

Nice place for a light lunch Friendly staff and well cooked fresh light bites. Teapot could have a bit more hot water in it but great to see tea leaves being used.

Food was average at best, that is kind! Ridiculously over priced, No atmosphere. So disappointing, it was such a good restaurant.

Wandered in for Brunch (pre Fulham match) as was just passing. We were both surprised how good the fry Full “Rowers” breakfast fry up was. Big portion and with all the right components; especially good eggs and mushrooms. Definitely will return. (And the friendly service a bonus too)

My brunch at Hudsons this morning was really delicious. Really good value for money. Great produce. Very tasty. Service was really good too. Had a nice buzz and definitely a spot I will be going back to. Regularly! Love having this as a local.

Menu limited but all our chosen dishes were excellent - really very tasty , beautifully presented and all food was nice and hot. The service was excellent with friendly staff. I do not recognise the recent comments as being the same restaurant we ate at tonight. I do not know anyone who owns/works at Hudson’s - this is a genuine review. We have been to Hudson’s before - yes it is different now but give them a chance!

Absolutely gutted. Hudsons used to be my favourite brunch place with a range of delicious options like the cowboy bowl, Greek special and breakfast burrito. Ohhh and the smoothies! Now it’s a very bland menu that is overpriced (£10 for a basic veggie breakfast) in which items were wrong and missing. The new colour scheme is probably the only nice thing. There is reduced seating and even one bathroom down. Plus if you have a baby make sure you bring your own mat as only a table is provided but no mats ot anything. Staff were meh, friendly enough I suppose but tone delivery horrible when asked about the changes that had been made saying the old one was all frozen food. I would like to know how fresh the hashbrown So sad the old Hudson’s is gone.

Went here with my wife for a quick brunch bite today. Overpriced and mediocre. Staff were pleasant but food was rubbish and we weren’t looking for anything high end. Won’t be going back again.

Quite possibly the worst meal we have ever had in a restaurant. Sadly Hudsons is not what it used to be, the new owners have wrecked this gem. Our table even though we booked wasn’t set up and we were placed in the back of the restaurant which was dark and dingy. Menu used to be extensive here, now limited and overpriced. The Moules should be avoided at all cost, we left them as to be safe, and the chef clearly needs to be taught what a Marinere sauce is. Burgers were left untouched by both adults and kids alike, raw in the middle. The only decent thing about this place was the fries, we left feeling cheated and hungry and won’t be returning.

Wanted to support the new Hudsons as much as I was sad to see the original go. Have been twice and afraid the consensus view in our house is the food is seriously overpriced and really not very good. A marble bar and tables does not justify such price rises from the old days alone, and the food has gone backwards in my view. I hope it survives as it’s a great community asset - but major improvements in food needed, especially if you want to continue to charge pretty damn hefty prices. Main courses over £35… the product is nowhere near at the moment. Experience not helped by restaurant being so quiet - which in a way speaks volumes.

Poor quality food and cooking. Bland. Overpriced. Only redeeming feature was the service. Needs to improve if want to bring in diners.

I wanted to support our local restaurant but I was already a bit sceptical when the new owners refit the restaurant so quickly and it shows. More importantly, the food and service were both poor. The plate the Arancini was served on was not practical. They were served luke warm and they needed a dip as they were dry and tasteless. We also received our starters too quickly, within 7 minutes. My husbands chicken livers were also not hot. The main courses were average to bad. The steak was a cheap cut and the fries were cold. My aubergine dish was okay but why serve it in a bowl when your fork can’t fit in to eat it? I also think serving the aubergine with fries wasn’t the right choice and they were cold. My husband and I don’t have any allergies but this is the first restaurant where the staff did not ask if we have allergies. The staff ignored us because they were standing around the corner chatting to each other and they did not ask how our meal was at any point. I should point on there was only one other table eating when we were there, so no excuse for poor service. No ambiance at all. Overall a huge disappointment. We will not be returning.

What a huge shame, all the ambience has gone, the friendliness has also gone and to be honest, the food was far better before.... and it used to be affordable & fun. Won't be returning. Massive disappointment, shouldn't be relying on the old Hudsons name - it's not the Hudsons it was.

We arrived at noon on the dot having already looked up the menu online, gave the order as we sat down, the guy didn't write it down. Ten minutes later he came back and tried to confirm the order. He had forgotten most of it. After half an hour, no sign of the food, we asked, they said it was "coming". This was a bare faced lie. Another ten minutes passed, still no food, asked again, they said it was "on its way". This was, again, a bare faced lie. After 55 minutes of waiting, I told them that if it wasn't coming in the next five minutes then we would leave. The woman went to the kitchen, came back and said would be another fifteen or twenty minutes. We left and will not be returning. The sad thing is its under new ownership, and was terrible food before, but at least they served the food instead of just telling us a series of lies! Avoid with prejudice, there's lots of restaurants nearby that actually serve food instead of just lying to your face over and over again!

Very good food for a reasonable price. Very pleasant atmosphere with a large choice of menu. Dishes chosen very tasty. Would certainly return.

Poor food Poor service Overcharged Front of house stressed though only half full Smashed avocado on toast and two poached eggs on toast (sliced wholemeal bread from supermarket) & two Americanos. Butter arrived just as we finished. £26 Shown a bill briefly with 2 chocolates- but he altered it & i stupidly paid on Apple Pay. Just a place for blokes on a Sunday morning after footie!

Came here for brunch, there's a large menu with big portions at very good prices. We all had different meals and were all very happy. Would visit again!

We just ate here and were not happy with the attitude of the waiter. In ordering, I pointed at the menu for what I wanted which was a brioche bap with bacon and sausage at GBP5.95. He brought out brioche french toast with bacon and sausage. I pointed out that I ordered the bap not French toast and he rudely snapped at me saying that's what I ordered. Taken aback I thought ok, I don't want to argue and took it. When I went to pay the bill I found the difference in price between what I had ordered and what I got was GPB8.95. I complained to the waiter who was extremely rude saying that I was a liar. I was again taken aback by his rudeness and thought ok, I'm not going spoil the lunch for myself and my partner by arguing the point. In retrospect, I should've held back on paying the "optional" 12.5% service charge.

Really good food, portions could be a little bigger. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Really spacious my favorite go-to place for brunch!

As well as always enjoying the food at Hudson's the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The Mediterranean mezze and the Halloumi skewers were very tasty and generous. The food and wine are good value and we really enjoyed the meal.

I was there on a Saturday and I realised who I think was the manager, he was very tall, he was being quite rude to the customers, talking to them in a rude tone of voice and blatantly ignoring the customer!

Although I only seem to visit Hudson’s every 12-15 months (see my two previous Reviews), it is undoubtedly - in terms of quality, service & value - one of the best restaurants in the Putney area.My visit today - together with 2 family members who were equally impressed - only served to confirmed my viewpoint. The only possible downside is that the Lower Richmond Road location may reduce the level of passing traffic but it has no shortage of regulars and - believe me - anyone prepared to undertake the 15/20 minute walk from Putney High Street will not be disappointed!!

I hadn’t been to Hudson’s for a while so was really looking forward to returning to Hudson’s with a friend for breakfast this (Saturday) morning. On arrival, we were half-greeted by a waiter and sat down. We were having a chat at the table but after what felt like at least ten minutes, I called over to the waiting staff who were congregated at the bar to ask for a menu! They sort of looked at each other and then a rather unfriendly young lady brought menus over.Our orders were eventually taken by the same young lady. We both ordered Eggs Benedict and some drinks. I ordered coffee which arrived in a glass that was dangerously too hot to handle. When the food arrived, it looked OK but not great and not in my opinion worth the £12 price tag. The hollandaise wasn’t a funny colour and there wasn’t much smoked salmon on the plate. Upon tasting the dish, you couldn’t taste the salmon or eggs because of the heavy use of vinegar for poaching the eggs. It was really unpleasant.We both thought the same but ate the food as we were hungry and in a bit of a hurry to get back to the car given the 30 minute time limit at the parking meter. Therefore we didn’t bother complaining to the unfriendly waitress. Instead we asked for the bill, paid and swiftly left.I felt very disappointed as I’d recommended Hudson’s to my friend as it has generally been a great place to eat breakfast for the last few years. Sadly this time I really didn’t enjoy the food or the service and I don’t think I’ll be back as there are plenty of other (better) places to enjoy breakfast in Putney. It’s such a shame as I used to love this place.

I very much enjoyed my first visit to Hudson's. Lovely comfortable and friendly atmosphere and tasty food.Would I come here again? Absolutely. It turned out to be a great place to meet up with friends for a spot of Friday supper, a few drinks and chat. Even though we were the last to leave, the staff didn't rush us at all and were friendly and courteous throughout. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

Los vientos de cambio nos llevaron a Hudson's, un restaurante muy acogedor con comida deliciosa y un personal amable que habla portugués. No habíamos estado un par de veces, ¡todo muy por encima de la media!La cena de esta noche pedí un pastel de pescado (mira mi foto), una gamba cremosa encantadora, una salsa de pescado cubierta de papa gratinada con queso, muy suave y sabrosa, aunque muy caliente, ¡ten cuidado!Comí con un vaso de Sauvignon Blanc de Nueva Zelanda, ¡una gran combinación!Las batatas fritas también muy especiales.Como pudín, mi esposo y yo compartimos tarta de banoffee y fue un postre delicioso!¡Se ha convertido ahora en nuestro restaurante habitual favorito en Putney!

I rang to say it was my friend's 60th and could they make the evening special, well no. Not mentioned all night. All three staff were grumpy, surly, bored, unfriendly.. It felt grubby and sticky too.

Open all day. Good menu- something for everyone. Decent food... Well cooked; fresh and seemed largely made in house. Outdoor terrace as well as several internal spaces. Friendly service. After several visits I can report that Sunday lunch is good as well.... All good value and largish quantities...

I’ve been coming to Hudson’s for a long time with my boyfriend for brunch and I can’t exaggerate how much I love the food! The cowboy bowl is amazing. The service is always friendly and warming and I recommend to all my friends. Will be back soon.

Having had a late breakfast and a busy day, we were looking to eat at that odd time: too late for lunch but too early for dinner. This can be a bad time to dine as the lunch meals are often over done and the dinner menu is not ready. Fear not, if this happens to you: Hudson’s can answer your prayers.

Having lived in putney for 5 years and always walked past Hudson’s I thought I’d give it a go. Terrible decision. We sat outside for 15 minutes until I managed to ask a waiter if we could order, waited a further 15 minutes and still no one came back out to take our order. It’s almost as if they don’t want customers. Incredibly rude staff, and slow. I suppose you get what you pay for, cheap. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone unless they just want a cheap bite, and in that case you’re probably better off at a kebab shop.

Tenía alitas de pollo de búfalo como entrante y creo firmemente que el tamaño de la porción ha disminuido significativamente y ahora casi no hay salsa de búfalo en las alitas de pollo. We were staying nearby and had gathered family members for a get-together. There were 11 of us altogether including three children. We had a big table in the back out of the way which worked out very well. The staff were exceptionally friendly and patient even when one of the kids broke a glass - clearing it up quickly with no muss or fuss.

We came here as we saw it was rated extremely high in the Richmond area. We were greeted straight away and sat outside because the weather was incredible. The was so much choice on the menu, Avacado was near enough included on every dish... which I am very into at the moment. I ordered the mexican bowl salad and WOW. Something that appeared so simple looked rather lovely and just delicious. My brother and sister ordered the aubergine and chicken burger, no issues with them either. Kyle who served us was lovely. It was good to see also, when there was another customer with a dog, he straight got him a bowl of water. So thoughtful! Will definitely be returning!

Was dreading a yuppie Saturday brunch with ridiculous prices, small portions and a long wait. Attentive and friendly service. Food right first time, hot and delicious. Laid back vibe and perfect way to start your day. Would return if in area for sure. Thanks team

¡GUAUU! Así que he estado en Hudson muchas veces y es por eso que lo elegí para organizar un desayuno familiar de cumpleaños la semana pasada, el domingo. No estoy seguro de por qué me sorprendió, pero nunca he tenido un personal / servicio tan complaciente e increíble. 20 de nosotros nos sentamos en la parte de atrás del restaurante (conservatorio) que era perfecto, las bebidas fluían y la comida salía de manera oportuna, ¡TODO estaba delicioso! No estoy seguro de cómo lo hiciste, pero cada persona se fue con una sonrisa en la cara. La gerencia también estuvo encantada de atender las muchas alergias alimentarias que tiene nuestra familia, por lo que puedo agradecerles lo suficiente.

Paré aquí varias veces para pasar el tiempo mientras esperaba al dentista. El personal no podría ser más útil. Solo hemos tomado bebidas (té o café, que hemos tomado como descafeinados) pero todo el personal ha sido acogedor y nos ha hecho sentir como en casa. Si viviéramos más cerca, volveríamos a probar una cena. Si fuéramos lugareños, probablemente sería un habitual. Enjoyed an evening with friends at this lively well established wine bar. The service was friendly and the food was ok with an eclectic range of dishes to choose from.

We attended Hudson’s for a pre Christmas family meal earlier this week.

Staff was attentive, food was good... But it took more than one hour to get our order - nothing fancy, breakfasts. I will not come back. Very likely, being killed by online orders.

Food was very variable, kitchen extremely busy. Situation made worse by Deliveroo or similar take out service placing further demands on an already busy kitchen. Avoid peak times if you want to receive your food in less than an hour...

Food, below average. Really nothing special at all. We had the Greek breakfast, which had way too many unmatched flavors on the plate. Cappuccino was unpleasant. A proper barista/training is needed here. Vibe was lively and staff were friendly. I wouldn’t go back or recommend the place.

Having dined at Hudson’s several times many years ago me and my husband enjoyed a fab evening last night with our 2 friends. It was like going back in time. The food was gorgeous and with generous portions. Lovely atmosphere. Very busy too which speaks volumes. However the thing ,which we all agreed made our evening, was being served by the most attentive waiter. From the moment we arrived until the time we left (sorry for being the last customers !) Nonu was absolutely spot on. This man knows how to serve customers .His warm greeting coupled with his happy to serve attitude (Hudson’s was packed don’t forget ) was a demonstration of how customers like to be treated. If only every establishment was fortunate enough to have Nonu, dining out would make for a better restaurant. Hudson’s - this man is worth his weight in gold. Looking forward to coming back very soon.

No trip to Putney is complete without a visit to Hudsons. We were staying in Southfields but made the short trip over for breakfast. Smashed avo, green smoothy, and pancakes! Perfect! see you next time folks.

Vinimos por un brunch familiar la semana pasada. El menú de brunch es realmente extenso y emocionante. Ordené las enchiladas y mi esposo pidió el tazón de vaquero. El tamaño de las porciones era muy generoso y nuestros desayunos eran en realidad bastante similares. . . Huevos, frijoles, papas fritas, salchichas, tocino, queso. . . pero se sirve un poco diferente! La única decepción para mí fue que los huevos escalfados no se habían secado antes de ponerlos en el plato, lo que significaba que allí había un charco de agua, por lo que los papitas fritas estaban empapados. El servicio fue inconsistente: el primer hombre que nos atendió (¿el gerente?) Fue extremadamente amable y atento, pero luego esperamos un largo tiempo para otro café y nuevamente para la factura de otro. Además, cuando el huevo escalfado de mis hermanas estaba crudo y ella cortésmente mostró al mismo mesero que él no se disculpó en absoluto y le preguntó si quería cocinarlo más. . . ¡Ya que estaba completamente crudo, parecía bastante sorprendente que debiera preguntar! En general, comida sabrosa, buen ambiente y buena relación calidad-precio con solo un par de contratiempos.

A group of us visited this restaurant on a Saturday night , we did not have a reservation however they managed to fit us in no problem. The menu caters for all tastes and there are a good selection of beers and wines on offer. The atmosphere is relaxed and nothing is rushed, the staff are friendly. Will be going back the next time we are in London.

I booked a table for a large group, 13 adults plus 7 toddlers. Restaurant was lovely and had a very buzzy atmosphere and the staff were great, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We all felt very welcome and well looked after. Food and coffee were good too.

10 years ago this was my restaurant of choice....amazing food and buzzy atmosphere so it was a no brainer when a friend asked where should we go for brunch in Putney recently. Probably the worst brunch i've ever had, seriously over cooked scrambled eggs with zero taste, bacon cooked to within an inch of it's life....just sloppy and very sad.

Took a trip up river on Thames clipper service. Stumbled across here when we went for a walk. Great menu with good choices. Greeted by a very friendly member of staff. Specials choice for each day of the week. Plus happy hour for cocktails.Food we chose was the lamb steak, recurrant and red wine sauce with greens, parsnip chips and dauphinoise potatoes. Was asked how I liked my lamb cooked. My partner had the Korean burger. Not disappointed at all with food and service. Toilets very clean too. Would recommend.

Great find. Food was beautiful and the service was great. We were greated and given a jug if water in arrival. My sister and I both had eggs royal and added souance, we also asked for a separate pot of hollandaise as we like a lot of it. Food came out quickly and was delicious. Really friendly guys and it was nice to have a personable, polite waiter and would definitely recommend

Many tables having to wait 20 minutes to order food, which actually looked quite good. No apology and waiter having to ask tables who arrived first. It wasn’t even full. Disappointing.

After an absence of several years (see previous Review), my wife and myself - together with a visiting family member from the US - lunched yesterday at Hudson’s Wine Bar in the Lower Richmond Road.

I went with a friend who recommended it. Probably some of the worst food I’ve had in London, that’s not to say it was inedible but the chicken was very dry and the portion size was small. I was speaking to a friend so we weren’t immediately ready to order, then the waiter seemed to take offence and didn’t come back for 15 mins. Expensive for what you get.

Having spent a month in Mexico i ordered a famous Mexican dish. Absolutely awful, the eggs were fried to the point of obliteration. The entire dish tasted bland and also cold. I felt uncomfortable complaining as i found the staff quite intimidating. As well as this the entire place looked unclean... wanted to get out as soon as possible. Avoid, felt like i had been robbed of my money!

Four of us went for dinner. The atmosphere and service were excellent, if a bit loud. But the food was just ordinary. Nothing bad...just ordinary.

Came here with a group of friends. Food took almost an hour to arrive. Rude customer service. Manager was extremely slow at doing his job and was very rude to me and my friend. We wanted to pay but he made it really difficult for us. He also snatched my money from my hand and said don't visit our place again in a quiet voice so that others won't hear him. I won't be visiting again and will also recommend others to do the same. This place has average food but with rude, fake customer service.

Three generations and we all had a great time. The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff were attentive and very helpful and the food was superb. I had the Dublin chicken and it was scrumptious. Three of us had Soulvalki and the plates were picked clean. The other adult meal was the Sunday Roast, which was also delicious. The children's menu caters for all tastes and the cheesy past went down very well. We all had three courses with drinks and the bill was smaller than it would have been elsewhere. A great family meal which we all thoroughly enjoyed. If we lived in Putney we'd be regular visitors, but we went in for the day to spend time with our son who lives in London. But I can guarantee we will be back again and will be recommending it to everyone.

After going past Hudson's quite a bit, decided to go here for food instead of cooking. Quite a wide range in the menu but the food was very good and great service from the staff. Will definitely be back at some stage!

I cycle past Hudsons on my way home from work most days and it always seems pretty full - especially the small outside terrace.

Third visit here, and as always a friendly welcome for adults and two year old. A good choice of brunch dishes served quickly. Menu is interesting and some unusual dishes. Seating outside ideal on a sunny day. Will certainly return.

I eat here at least once a month. Always busy, but enough staff on hand to tend to everyone. Food is good (often too much on the plate). With the staff always courteous and smiling, they always make you very welcome. Great Sunday roasts too ..

One of the best roasts I have had in a long time. Normally go for the beef or the pork. Good portion size and reasonably priced

Mothers Day so crazy busy but staff consistently friendly and coping well. We had Sunday roast, either pork or beef, good food and generous portions. Did not wait as long for the meal as on a previous visit, which is an achievement on such a busy day. Expressed an interest in the house red, and the waiter offered a small tasting glass, which resulted in a bottle of the Shiraz Merlot blend being ordered and enjoyed. What more can you ask? Good value and a good vibe guarantee more return visits and earn four stars from me.

Being a local you become discerning about the places you visit and frequent. You test them once, then confirm a second time and find yourself coming back more often as it's a solid place to fall back on.

Hard to believe I'd never been here despite having lived or worked in & around Putney for over 40 years, but now the High St and much of Upper Richmond Rd are quality-food deserts we dropped in on spec for dinner last Monday, 5th Feb.

I when there with my Mother for a late lunch and we both found the food very bland and boring, the food here has really gone down hill recently and therefore we will not be coming back here, as we can get far better food elsewhere locally, it's a real shame because this place use to be very good.

Went here for lunch on Saturday, 3 adults 2 children, plus a buggy, as soon as we walked in I felt it was to much for the fellow who asked if we had booked, after huffing and puffing, he finally found us a table, but I did have to take the buggy back to our car, after waiting half an hour for our meal it finally came, but was cold , also 1 of the children had sausages, they had been re-heated , won’t be going there again

Proportions were mega! Had the duck burger which was nice but a bit dry. Great staff. Local place, nice and quite.

Tenía un desayuno encantador aquí un sábado. La comida era buenísima, tostadas de brioche francés cocinado a la perfección, como inglés y un delicioso plato de vaquero, aunque grande parte. El servicio era genial.

Excelente comida y servicio. Un pequeño restaurante a precios asequibles. Menú cambia cada dos semanas, así que siempre hay algo nuevo que probar! Los camareros amables y atentos.
