Hudson's House in Camden

On Google, Hudson’s House is advertising itself as open until 2:00 on Saturday nights. Which is one of the reasons we frequently come and stay at the St Giles hotel when we visit London. So we were well upset when we got back to the hotel at 01:05 and were told the bar was closed. Apparently there were not enough customers to make it cost effective to stay open. But there were 2 bar staff and a manager still present. I know that the licensing laws allow the management to decide when to open and close. But as a customer, it is really frustrating to find that a venue is closed when Google says it is open. And then you don’t come back.

I recently booked Hudson House for a reunion celebration party with 90 guests. This involved welcome drinks, a lively presentation and food. Kevin and his staff made sure that the venue was arranged as we wished, all necessary tech was available, playlist was accommodated, guests were served quickly throughout the night at the bar, food met everyone's dietary needs and was very good. All guests paid a set fee for food and drinks all night. Great value for money.

We stopped before a show and while the interior is nice and staff very pleasant,we felt the food was lacking. No kids menu available so big portions wasted on smaller appetites,the fish was very boney and sauce lacked flavour,the chips were also dry as paper. Wouldn't be in a hurry back if I was ever in london.

Fantastic bar & restaurant in the St Giles Hotel. Staff are amazing and so friendly, great food too. My son & I have been visiting this place since 2011 and we'll be back.

Very busy and popular pub. Hadn't booked but we were found a quiet corner. Our dog was very welcome too. Service was very friendly and quick. We had mains of pie and steak. The food was tasty and hot. Can't fault it

Not a bad place, popped in after a show, we only had a burger , but it was tasty, the surroundings are pleasant , we sat by the kitchen, the guys there work hard and fast to produce some luvlee food. The waiters are attentive and you can have a laugh with them, the menu is similar to a pub one I would go again

Ate twice here on Holiday from the USA. Great steaks and burgers, atmosphere reminded me of Hard Rock with the art and what not. Fun place for a date for sure, friendly staff.

Yummy food and lovely customer service!

I had the slow roasted pork belly. The pork belly was too tough to eat and had no flavor. The cabbage was unevenly and undercooked. The restaurant was so hot that it was miserable trying to eat while I was sweating. To beat all, no one tried to fix the problem or offer me a discount or anything! I'll never go back!

Hudson’s House it’s a great place to spend a nice evening. Food is very good, beer it’s even better and atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. We would love to come back. Especially we appreciate the lamb chops and the steak, it was 5 stars above everything else we had in London and in much more expensive places.

Servers and bar staff were attentive and wonderful. Had the best experience. Sasha was on point all evening.

Staying at St Giles Hotel and had dinner at Hudsons Bar & Brasserie.Opted for the Pan Fried Salmon and my wife opted for the Grilled Chicken Burger.Food was excellent and so was the service.We were served by Sasha who was friendly and helpful .Atmosphere was good as the England game was on .Ticked all the boxes and will return on our final night in London.

This restaurant is attached to the St. Giles London Hotel. There are two sections, a bar on one side and a restaurant with table service on the other. I sat in the restaurant. I enjoyed the music that was playing overhead - lots of R&B classics from groups like Earth, Wind and Fire, Lionel Richie, Kool and the Gang, among others. They had several large screen TVs on the wall showing a soccer match between Spain and Albania. I ordered an Old Fashioned cocktail. The drink was a nice sized portion with a balanced mixture of sweet and strong. My meal consisted of the Pan Fried Salmon which came with seasoned sauteed green beans, potatoes and a side salad. The Salmon was nicely cooked - not too dry - and had a good flavor. My dessert was something that I had never tried before - an Eton Mess. I loved it because it was just the right amount of sweetness for me and was not a heavy dessert. Because I was a guest at the adjoining hotel, I received a 25% discount on my check.

We were warmly welcomed by Sasha & Alex who remembered us from our previous visits. The restaurant was full but this did not prevent a TIP TOP service. Our food was freshly prepared, served with professionalism & tasted delicious. If you are going to the theatre or in the area then this eatery is worth a visit. Atm, there is a special offer which makes the cost exceptionally reasonable. Thank you again to all the staff especially Sasha & Alex.

Birthday meal for my husband before the theatre last night. Very friendly and helpful staff. Ordered 3 steaks and we all wanted them cooked differently. They were cooked to perfection. Only wish we had more time before theatre which was our fault to relax and have a dessert. Staff helped us make everything perfect thank you We will be back

Had a fantastic fillet steak, cooked to perfection, and made even sweeter by having a 50% off code. If I had to pull it down on something, the service was a little slow, but no other issues.

Hudson's House is the best! Bartender Sajibur is so friendly with great service. The beer tastes amazing - perfectly poured local brews. Warm, fun atmosphere to relax over delicious drinks and conversation. Can't beat this fantastic bar!

It’s spacious bar and restaurant by St Giles hotel. The Camembert cheese could Improve with the cranberry sauce and upgrade bread quality. For main, Cote de boeuf thought it was perfectly executed juicy and meat was tender. Pork ribs taste wasn’t too my liking. It was bit dry and didn’t have too much sauce to it. Overall, decent restaurant to dine in.

Thought it was a ‘pub type’ of food, but really it exceeded expectations. Chicken was cooked very good and spiced to perfection (not too strong, just right balance of spices), sirloin steak cooked as requested (medium-well done) and brownie had a nice hint of mint which really finished the whole dinner nicely. Service was spot on 👌

It was busy and nice pub. We went to try british food. However, it was a very standard and expensive one. Couldn't finish the chicken because of the test. The service was 20% which I find very high.

Another great find on the Fork app - 50% discount on all food (not the pre-theatre menu). We enjoyed the pork belly with savoy, mash and gravy. Delicious! Also recommend the cheesy garlic bread which was fresh and bursting with garlic. The service was spot on. The front of house team were attentive, welcoming and friendly. Didn’t have to wait long for anything. They also have a good kids menu!

Suggestion from my buddy, and a good one, and at a nice discount. Warm welcome, courteous manager, friendly efficient staff, felt in good care. Nice menu for a hotel restaurant, with classics and all. The grill selection looked fabulous but at a price, worth it though. The baked camembert to share was gooey, nice to chat over. Good selection of drinks, Peroni 0.0 was great. Cote de Boeuff was really properly cooked, tasty, and well presented. At full price I'd debate the value, but at a discount it was perfect. Nice chips , salad, beans. Knifes could be sharper and bearnaise could have more flavour, good texture though! Great lively atmosphere, some of the decor was eh .... saucy! Overall, very enjoyable evening, staff and food equally good and memorable. I dig this !

This is te saving grace of the whole St Giles Hotel complex. The staff are great and helpful. Food was good pub fayre well priced especially for London with the hotel discount. I especially liked the 5 grain lager so did my work colleagues. Decor is good, and nice little sit around tables for a group.

We are here before attending the dominion theatre. It was a brilliant location, only a 3 minute walk to the theatre. The atmosphere was great, good music playing, not too loud you couldn’t hear the table conversation yet enough you could hear what was being played. The service was great, always available when needed yet not rushing you. The food was of good quality, good portion sizes and reasonably priced considering the location. I did feel the glasses of Prosecco was a little expensive but it didn’t put me off ordering! Overall a lovely restaurant with great staff and I’ll definitely be returning next time I’m at the theatre

On Thursday, 14 of us celebrated my birthday at Hudson house before and after visiting life-sized monopoly. The food was good and the service was fantastic. We were made to feel very welcome and everyone had a fabulous time. Thank you for adding to my lovely birthday memories.

Got 2 medium rare steaks. One of them was rare verging on blue and the other was medium well. Even properly cooked, the cuts weren't worth the 30 pound each price tag. Service was fine.

Popped in for a nightcap on our way back to the room, only wished we'd been in at the start of our stay. Lovely staff, delicious drinks served in a quirky atmosphere. Loved the art work...fun and not too serious. Would recommend visiting, thanks for having us x

First time here and not disappointed. Food is well presented and cooked and steak and chops are of very good quality meat. Wine list is short but well chosen and reasonable prices. Service was good and of right level, not intrusive but always avalable. Evening made by the excellent service of Kevin. Thoroughly enjoyed and will visit again.

After being away for few weeks we decided to go back to this restaurant and and we really enjoyed ourselves. We were greeted by ever so charming Kevin and his team. We had our food which was delicious, portions were plentiful. Monika, Bartek and Patrick who work in the open kitchen are kind and fantastic chefs. Thank you.

Kevin gave us his usual warm welcome & made us feel welcome. The chef’s Monica, Patrick & Bartek remembered us. The food was cooked to perfection, presented appealingly & tasted fabulously. WELL WORTH A VISIT!!

No toilets inside the bar and staff not very helpful when questioned about it. They just told us they didn't have one and we had to use the hotels but when we found it you had to enter a code which they wouldn't tell us nor would reception as its was for "paying customers only:

Very nice restaurant. The staff was very friendly and organized a table for me, even as every place was already reserved. Good advice for food, the fish and chips were outstanding. Beer was okay, nothing special but fine anyway. Prices are a bit high, but still acceptable.

Food was pretty good, portions are a little small. The atmosphere was a little too dark and too loud. Although there are other tables that are better situated.

Food poor. Starter fritter burnt to charcoal so shouldn't even have been allowed out of the kitchen. Bruschetta, bread not toasted, so tasteless and chewy. Burger over-cooked and chewy. Chips tasteless. House own name beer has much lower alcohol content -so they pay much less duty on it- but it's same price as the usual stuff. Is ok for a quick pre-theatre bite, as we had, but far from a "destination". And there are so many much better places around, with the same kind of food, for that sort of price.

Very nice place, and definitely a gem on a busy night in London. Food was average, I had very less chicken in the chicken pasta I had ordered. The ice-cream had ice-crystals as well. Overall, my experience was average. The service was great.

Lost our reservation to start , a lot of confusion over sitting in the bar section or the restaurant section . Finally able to order , took a long time for the food to come , had to substitute an item because they ran out of wings . Had to ask several times just for water . The server was very friendly . Had to ask several times about paying our bill. Our last night in London , wish we had gone to done other place . Would not recommend at all for a restaurant , bar was ok but ran out most of the beer on tap . Too bad, a lot of potential

We had the pleasure of being offered an Italian tasting menu and everything the new chef cooked from the pasta to the panna cotta was spot on. Staff were great I’d definitely recommend to anyone fancying a place to eat before going to the west end like we were. Big up the boss Tim for sorting us out.

Very underrated place. Not only is the beer and food selection decent, but they also offer 25% off regulars (whereas before it was only 20%, more informal with no card), know how to cook a meat medium rare, how to make a peppercorn sauce and fries. Very nice service and atmosphere and good food for an ok price given the quality (ps: I ate half of the cote de boeuf before taking the pic, I normally go for the burger). They open the window screens in summer, so it’s perfect for outdoor seating (restaurant food is only available inside though unless you go for bar food). A regular go-to in the area for informal meetings

Love this spot. Lovely food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere. I’m new to London and my friend and I fell upon this place by accident. I’ve been several times (on purpose) since and enjoyed it each time. I even took my parents when they came to visit. Would highly recommend.

RUDE!! The staff and management are very rude and will not serve you if you ask for a drink! The whole night all the people in there where asking to be served and they just ignored them. We made complaint to manager who laughed it off and didn’t care!! The bar man was charging the wrong about of money and was pocketing it for him self!! He was disrespectful not only to the young/middle age but was rude to the older generation. Manager said they are tired we have had 3 staff leave (I’m not surprised) but we explained that we are understanding people and if they had just said that in the first place!! But they still continued to be rude and swearing at the customers to the point everybody was getting frustrated by the bar man they had no choice to close the bar! The bar is very dirty not clean at all and the floor was soaked and the floor that wasn’t wet you got stuck to!!! Do not waste your money in there!!! However VQ next door is amazing tue staff are so kind and respectful and the service is amazing… If you go to Hudson's don’t say I didn’t warn you!!

Great atmosphere, absolutely delicious food and a great staff. The chicken burger is really good. Finger licking good. It is a bit expensive but you'd get high quality in return.

This facility lets the Hotel down. We had breakfast after an overnight in the Hotel and were shocked with the appalling standard. On arrival a member of staff met us and took payment for our breakfast before advising us that it was a buffet and we should attempt to find a table ourselves. The only vacant table we eventually found was filthy and had not been cleaned after previous users. The hot buffet was minimal and consisted of baked bean, hash browns, very watery scrambled eggs and bacon. There was a general lack of labelling of what was on offer, particularly fruit juices and coffee.

Very pleasant place, nice service, delicious food, delicious drinks. I've been here before. The kindness of the boss deserves special mention. I think I will be a repeat guest during my travels.

I had initially booked via the fork app and reviewed there, however, they were not happy with my review and reported it. In summary overpriced burnt and slow service. The offer was 50% off and I still felt robbed. As I said before needs new management to revive this place or it'll just keep burning money.

We returned to Hudson House after not eating here for a while. The manager Kevin remembered both of us & gave a warm welcome. Our waiter John, a new addition to the team, was exceptionally polite, professional, helpful & caring. The meal which included a Cote de Boeuf & a Chicken Burger as a main course, was cooked to perfection, served with style & most importantly tasted FABULOUS! A big THANK YOU to the chef/s. We shall return & can heartily recommend this eatery for quality food & excellent service.
