Food is always amazing. Portions are big & good quality freshly cooked. Our family fav is the tater tots & the milkshakes! It was midweek so atmosphere was more quiet but staff always super tentative & friendly.

Disappointing. Took the grandchildren for a treat milkshake great. Problem I asked for a plain cheeseburger. I started eating it when I checked the bun had sauce on. The waiters response was I should have read the menu!!! I said I asked for a plain cheeseburger never before has it come with sauce. Offered to get me a new top for the roll. The sauce had already tainted the taste of the burger. Sadly not the experience I expected

Great American style diner. Excellent burgers and milkshakes. Music and memorabilia is in the style of a diner from the 50s. Car park is small, but there is one.

Second week running we’ve been here for breakfast . Came the week before on the Saturday with my brother and SIL was so good we returned on Sunday

Still very good & we had a great evening celebrating my boys birthday, but it has been a while since we last visited & I thought the atmosphere wasn’t as good on this occasion, never heard music being played as much, & service didn’t seem to be as quick, maybe because there is less staff now not sure, just seemed to take a while & wasn’t even full. But still had a very enjoyable evening

My wife and I absolutely love this place!! Been going here for quite a few years now, always had a great service and even better food! My honest opinion, this is the place to get the best burger. We travel 30 mins to visit here rather than going anywhere closer to home! I'm also glad that they have stuck to doing what they do best and remained the same albeit with slight menu improvements. Great atmosphere with the decor and music. We will always choose small independent businesses over the big chains, so this is our go to place as you'll guarantee a decent meal at a good price!

Lovely food as always but please be careful using staples in the carrier bag. When the delivery lady handed my husband the bag a staple was sticking through the handle. The staple went deep into my husbands finger which had to be carefully removed and was bleeding.

Very very pleasant early evening dinner, after work in Folkestone. Really fun and pleasant atmosphere inside. Lady server - very friendly. Veggie Tex Mex Burger and Cajun Fries were delicious.

all we were upset about is you advertised your mash and pulled pork as just that mash and pulled pork, crispy onions were not something we like. if they were advertised and there was an option to take them off I would have but you also don't have any meals that we can customise.. that's all the complaints are generally your chips with melted cheese and bacon are amazing and the hot dogs with nothing on are amazing your defiantly my favourite american place but could do with more optionson meals

Nothing else like it, really unique. Great food if you like burgers and dogs. The food was lovely and the drinks were good. I highly recommend the peanut butter, bacon and chilli jam burger. Service was a little slow but it was busy so to be expected.

First time here with new menu, booked a table foe early breakfast, was very quiet at first then packed out, staff are so nice. Any meal set can add to it, food was fresh, filling and really nice, definitely going back again

I often visit Hot rod diner and myu kids love it. quite pricey and NO discounts available whatsoever.(updated in 2024, there is the NHS bluelight discount) the wait time for your food>>>> VERY LENGTHY. staff are ever so polite and friendly. the only restaurant I give tips. lovely ambiance, boring USA music but heyyyy thats what its all about. food>>> tasty, worth the portions, well made, neat and really tasty. shakes, drinks are good as well. i have ordered via uber eat and it comes hot and tasty. they are gradually introducing discounts on tuesdays if you book in advance. ah well, might give that a try. well recommended

We come here a lot and love it. Normally come for dinner so tried lunch this time. Was super tasty as always and Coral our server was awesome, friendly and attentive. Honestly some of the negative reviews are one offs, every time we come here we love it.

i ordered a delivery for this place and the speed was incredible for the fact the food was fresh and hot. i ordered their hot honey burger as i have always wanted to try america's famous chicken and waffles and it did not disappoint. the marilyn shake and tater tots were divine also 💗

Great little diner, my food was great, my husband said his burger could have done with more seasoning but other than that great, prices are okay only thing is it seems a little rundown and the floor looked quite dirty (not sure if this was just the aesthetic or just not clean), i was also a little dissapointed as when i checked online before i came (i always check menues as i have food intolerances) and had previously chose what i would have and when i arrived they informed me that this menj was only available at certain times so what i origionally wanted wasnt available, I would reccomend the breakfast I ordered though which came with the tater tots,

Great to have an American themed diner here, they have a great menu and a dedicated gluten free menu too. I'm a coeliac and have happily eaten here numerous times. Have yet to try their breakfasts but they look epic too!

Really enjoyed this, the food was well packaged, cooked and assembled as well as anything you’d get in the restaurant if eating in. We ordered at approx 5pm and the food was delivered just over an hour later, it was warm and portion sizes were as expected from the price. Total price for 3 adults and 1 child was on par with the cost of Chinese , Indian and fish and chip takeaways we’ve had recently, The menu choices were extensive. Recommended!!

Decided to take the family for some lunch in half term. This is the closest I've found to a true American dinner in Kent. Food was awesome, kids loved the milkshakes and ice cream float. Would certainly go again.

Visited a few times, and as usual, really friendly staff, the food is great and cooked fresh. My only grumble is that there is no Root Beer....How can you have an american diner without root beer?😱 It's like a pizza restaurant without parmesan cheese!

I travelled from over the water to visit here for a weekend dinner, and I am so glad I did! It was my first time coming here for dinner, and it definitely won't be my last. I like the look of the building from the outside, it's different. Then, parking up and hearing the rock n roll music playing outside was a good touch. Makes you feel like you are in America straight away. I booked a table online (which was easy to do on their website) for dinner on a Saturday night. There was a good atmosphere in the restaurant. Staff members were polite, prompt, and patient. Food was served pretty quickly and all food was a hot temperature. The chips are so nice, and burger patties are lovely. They taste like real meat, not cheap processed burgers. My partner ordered the surf & doublr turf and couldn't fault anything on the plate (the chicken was cooked to perfection). We were full from our main courses but really wanted a milkshake and dessert. There are so many milkshakes to choose from, I found it difficult to decide. We waited a while to see if we could make space for desserts. Staff never rushed us during this and said, take the time we need and let them know when we are ready. Later, we asked if we could order these to go, which the staff were happy to do. They packed our desserts in an eco-friendly cardboard box. It was nice not to be given plastic containers. I loved the decor inside, from the flooring, to the seats and the decored wall. I absolutely loved the rock n roll music they played too, couldn't help but sing along. The only thing I think would make it have that 'American feel' even more is if the staff dressed up in American diner outfits. It seems like a popular place. Some people popped in for a milkshake on the go, a family came in to sit down and eat desserts, or you can order takeaways. We will be back for sure, it was totally worth the drive. What a great job you are doing Hot Rod!

Every time we visit the food is great, the staff are amazing and it’s a really nice relaxed atmosphere. I’ve only visited midweek when they aren’t as busy as weekends but from my experience I can’t fault it.

Food was stone cold, had to re heat in the microwave which defeats the object, which then made the food soggy. Given its just down the road wouldn't expect this especially with it being a Tuesday, didn't think it would be busy for it to take over an hour to arrive. First and last time we will ever order from here.

Great looking place. I won't rate a small business low, and please do go there, Milkshake was great price and amazing. 5/5 The food was 1/5 hence my harsh median review - Sadly the burger I had was not good, whats good is what they're doing - giving jobs to people around them and filling our gobs with unhealthy filth, but the king burger was too far, it tasted like pure oil. The onions get fried on the grill too and im surprised how they kept the 150ml of oil I had in the burger in one place. I've flipped patties for a few years and this was Drenched in the trench. Menu looked good but sides came out below par for the money. The amount of mustard in cheese sauce is OK, I get that, it's fun and different but it didn't taste like cheese at all. I'd just get mustard for free. Also Cholula on the table was swapped for some JJ's catering sauce or had been there for 8yrs and diluted every few months. Not sure didn't check the date. The long short - go for the shakes and tip like in Vegas

So I went in there with low expectations, thinking it would be another mediocre faux diner.. tbh only really went in because my daughter wanted to go.. ...the food punched well above its weight; cheap but felt authentic. I've travelled all over the USA, probably 15 times and this felt legit. The service was helpful (they fit us in despite a lot of reservations) but afterwards you could see they were rushed off their feet. ...but the food came promptly and overall it had the same feel of diners in America.. even driving up to it felt different; the undercroft garage wasn't your average restaurant car park

I use this place all the time but today I had home delivery and there was forgotten items so I phoned and complained bit they just didn't care just said sorry I forgot and number of chicken wings gose on size of chicken wings should be 3 but cos I had 2 large ones it counted as 3 unfortunately was unhappy want be using again

This was a great pre Ebbsfleet football match spot especially as the local pubs seem to only be interested in selling drinks. Huge burgers with a decent selection. Burger, chips and a soft drink for £10

Upon entering the diner, there's a spacious garage style carpark with music classics from the inside of the diner. Inside you're greeted warmly and with an American style decor... booths, chequered flooring, jukebox with American rock and pop classics. The tacos that are starters are absolutely HUGE. I honestly think they could be a main course with a side. They were gorgeous. I had the shrimp tacos and it was bursting with flavour. I had the ribs and wings main which was also underestimated in size... the JD glaze was sweet and the meal was cooked to perfection with the ribs falling off the bone and a huge amount of fries to go with them. I couldn't finish it but had a mojito and a soda float which were also amazing. The mojito has a kick to it so not for the lightweights 👌 Gorgeous food and loads of it, great atmosphere, really friendly and accommodating staff, nostalgic vibes. Hidden gem 💎

It was our first visit to Hot Rod diner and it certainly won't be our last. We've wanted to try American pancakes for so long and finally got to have them. The food tasted delicious and was presented beautifully, The Milkshakes are the best we've ever had! it really felt like we had stepped back in time to the 1950's. We highly recommend this lovely hidden gem.
