My partner and I came here for afternoon tea, wonderful selection of sandwiches and cakes and of course the cream tea which were all fresh and tasty. Friendly service and nice atmosphere too!

Fantastic service from the staff. We had a great time at the restaurant. Mimi, Kathia & Will were there to accommodate all of our requests. The food is delicious and very well presented. A must go in Bristol. Wine 👏🏼🙌🏻

Disappointing afternoon tea. Stale bread, chemical tasting cakes and our vegan colleagues who had specifically booked there because they offer a vegan option, didn't get scones because they had run out! They offered extra cakes instead which really isn't afternoon tea at all. To top it up, it was expensive and not enough effort put in.

I stated for 3 nights for a conference at the university up the hill (U of Bristol). Excellent location, practically on campus. Beautiful well-kept hotel, top notch restaurant, very quiet, comfortable room with an immaculate, luxurious bathroom (including great L’Occitane toiletries!), and excellent wifi! A shout out to all the perfect, helpful staff who made my stay memorable with their kindness. I recommend eating takeout cake from Ahh Toots (around the corner) on the hotel’s beautiful enclosed patio. Made my work trip feel like a relaxing vacation!

Just went for a Sunday Lunch, it was quite good, good service. Free buffet choice for starters on the Sunday Lunch menu. Only negative was the dry chrispy yorkshire pud, its not how I like them.

From Sam and Tris. Our four night stay here was exemplary. Alexsandro and all the staff in the bistro were really friendly - genuine, warm and considerate. Jolanta, Louise, Katrina, and the staff at the front desk were great - helpful at sorting out any issues, making us comfortable and very genuine people - we did not feel we were staying at a corporate chain but at a place run for its guests and the staff. Several of the staff told us they had been at the hotel for years; some had come back after less good experiences at hotels elsewhere. They said they were always treated well and like family by the management which we felt was reflected in how they treated us as guests. The food in the bistro was superb - I recommend the beefcheek, mussels and French onion soup. The cooked breakfast options were extremely tasty and generous and the buffet thoughtfully laid out with very many good things on offer including cucumber and fruit infused water, great marmalade and nice pastries - the muesli/nut squares I honestly considered asking the recipe for. The bistro dining room was absolutely lovely - soft lighting, ferns, heavy wooden tables - an atmosphere from another era. A room to relax in, turn off the phone and talk across dinner as people used to in days gone by. Our room was the highlight - airy and spotless (the really nice cleaning staff did amazing work) - with a relaxing, traditional feel which was just what we needed for a long stay - I loved being able to open double doors to a rooftop. The bed was so soft and the rolltop bath and rain shower touches of luxury. And the location near the old, winding Christmas steps area was excellent - for us particularly needing to be near the University school of life sciences. We found a great board games cafe a few minutes away. We plan another longer visit next year we hope. Thanks to everyone at Hotel du Vin for a positive experience and helping us to come away with such good things to say about the people of Bristol and the city - our first visit. Sam

Wow at 13 days notice this hotel provided an amazing wedding weekend! Thanks to ? Amy wedding organiser for my goddaughter. She sounded great; so helpful in such a short time. For Alex the manager who managed us with sensitivity and good humour. All the staff were polite and helpful. The rooms were super comfortable and anything we needed was promptly provided. This was a perfect moment for all the family and dear friends …

Don't go for their vegan afternoon tea. The scones were flat and dry, they didn't have any cream alternative to go with them, not even butter. The chocolate pot was so dark and bitter it tastes like 90% strength chocolate with no way to cut through the bitterness. The frozen sorbet was brought out at the beginning, so was melted by the time we ate the sandwiches. The little cake was dry and not very tasty. The sandwiches were okay, but the food was definitely not worth the money.

Absolute gem of a hotel based right in the city, literally 5 minutes walk to shops, bars & restaurants. Our Classic room was amazing, with what I can say was the best bathroom I've ever been in. The huge shower was amazing & we were so impressed with the beautiful pedestal bath we gave that a go too....plenty of room for two wink wink. Service was excellent from check in to bar staff, nothing too much trouble. Will definitely be back.

A perfect stay. The room was SO quiet despite its central location, the walls must be thick as we couldn’t hear any other guests either. The bathroom was truly a masterpiece and more spacious than any hotel I have ever been in. The space had really thoughtful details and the reception, bar and bistro staff were stellar. If you can peel yourself out of the bath be sure to get a cocktail. I really appreciated the vegan options and fresh ingredients for breakfast. I look forward to booking again and will dream of the tub till then!

Brilliant meal thank you! Very affordable at £9.95 for a prawn masala, pilau rice, peshwari naan and poppadoms! Amazing service and one of the nicest peshwari naans I've ever had :)
