Hot Rock Cafe in Bradford

A fabulous piece of minted lamb steak, very succulent. It's the best steak I've had so far in Bradford. The chicken steak was also cooked very well and was tasty but they could also vary it with sauced toppings. But I guess it's traditional style steak that they offer nevertheless cooked very well. Reasonably priced and good portions. Will definitely be visiting again.

4 of us came in after being recommended the food, starters & mains absolutely amazing, Saeef helped us cook our filet steaks to perfection definitely recommend and will be back!

I’ve visited this restaurant many times and without fail every time the food exceeds my expectations. I remember my first visit which was years ago, as a picky eater that barely eats meat this restaurant was the first time I tried a steak, since then I have tried steaks elsewhere but I am always left disappointed because nothing beats the steaks from the hot rocks. If you’re in Bradford this place is WORTH EVERY VISIT. They don’t just serve steaks though they sell the most satisfying deconstructed cheesecakes , smash burgers , chips and wings. Staff are lovely too!

Carnivores delight. So nice to be able to have your steak blue/rare or however you want it as it comes out on a hot slab of granite, sizzling and smelling amazing. You just leave it on there until it is cooked how you want it. Generous sized portions and meat top quality, no gristle or excessive fat. Garlic mushrooms for starter was rich and creamy and came with warm baguette for dipping. Atmosphere lovely and friendly, they can't do enough for you and really know their stuff regarding the meats and accompaniments. It is definitely an experience not to be missed.

Steak was excellent but starters were poor. Deconstructed cheesecake was very nice too. Abit too loud and rowdy atmosphere for me personally.

Had a unique tasty fun dining experience with my friends here at Hot Rock Stakehouse. Sonny was extremely helpful jolly bloke who took time out to explain everything in detail an excellent host. I would highly recommend this to all.

This is the first time me and my mother have ever been to a halal steakhouse that we actually enjoyed. The service was lovely, the waiter showed us how to cook the steaks to our liking. We both got the £20 for 2 courses meal which included either a starter and a main or a main and a dessert, I opted for the main which I got a fillet steak (£7.0 extra but worth it) with chips (chunky, the good kind of chinky chips) and the biscoff cheese cake. The fillet steak when cooked to my liking was tender and the meat itself was only seasoned with salt and pepper and it was perfect. Even though the cooking of the steak is left up to you, it’s quite difficult to mess it up as you can just take the steak off once it reaches a level below what you want and let it rest for a few mins while the heat already in the meat cooks it a bit more. The biscoff cheesecake… WAS BRILLIANT. At first I thought I ordered a regular cheesecake but here they do them differently. They serve deconstructed cheesecakes which at first sounded a bit odd but personally o thought it was a game changer for desserts, the only white chocolate paired amazing with the biscoff. Overall the entire experience was great, for 2 people with drinks and the food it was £51.00 (roundabout, my mother paid so I didn’t see properly). I would definitely recommend this place to everyone as it’s not just a restaurant but more an experience and in my opinion I think it’s the perfect place for any social occasion like a catch up with friends or a family meal. I will be returning here again definitely :)

Absolutely banging food. Customer service was on point. Went today in Ramadan food came out within 3-4 mins of ordering. Owner was very welcoming and made us feel at home. Extremely unique flavours. I would suggest the half and half (hot rock lamb and minted lamb). Will be coming again. Cheesecakes are out of this world very light and do well for an iftari. I am overall very happy with the meal and atmosphere.

Amazing service and heat tasting food

I visited here with a friend the other day, and both us ordered the fillet steak. We were lucky to go when it wasn't very busy so had a lot of time speaking to the owner Sonny (proper cool guy) - he even showed us the kitchen and prep areas! His passion for good quality steak is really apparent. The food was delicious. The fillet steak was fresh, succulent and melt in the mouth soft. If you like steak, its a must have. I also highly recommend the minted lamb chops and passion cocktail (special drink which is not on the menu ;) ). Overall, a great experience and will definitely visit again.

The restaurant environment is amazing! 1st time going there and I already can't wait to go again. We had lamb chops as starters- so tender and juicy!! Then we proceeded to have sirloin steak on the rock: First time ever eating steak this way and the best one so far!! Sony took the time to explain how we should do the steak depending on how we wanted it- such a lovely and warm gentleman!! We ended with the deconstructed cheesecake and it was the cherry on the top of the cake!! I will definitely return soon!! Thank you so much for the experience, Sony!!

Best steak in Bradford Very good customer service - unique experience / steak comes on a sizzling rock, which cooks meat whilst you are eating.

I've tried the other steak houses in Bradford and have to say HotRocks is one of the best. Ordered a Sirloin steak that was served very lightly seared on a very hot lava stone block. Got a 10% Blue Light Card discount too. Great service and a friendly owner. Highly recommended.

Been coming to this place since it’s opened in Bradford, and it’s constantly been consistent, not one bad thing I could say about this place, staff are excellent, and so is the food. Pricing is good too. Not another steakhouse like this!

We decided to come here to celebrate our anniversary. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were attentive and keen to help. Now I must admit, steaks weren’t something me or my husband had readily enjoyed in the past and my husband does say I can be a harsh critic. However, I must admit in this case it was the best steak I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. The flavours were divine and the presentation top notch! We will definitely be coming again!

The food was 4/5 for me, I’d say the portion is a decent size and with the complimentary butter it gives it that extra level otherwise I had it at 3.5/5. The service is brilliant as the owner was very generous and paid attention to detail. He gave us complimentary butter (garlic, naga and the black pepper) variants all of which gave a distinct flavour to the meat cut. Knowing it was our first time he gave us those to try with the steak. The decor is very 2010’s and if you’re into that sort of thing then it fits. The owner also spent some time with us at the end asking for our honest feedback and was open to suggestions. We were given a complimentary deconstructed Black Forrest cheesecake which was beautiful, I think the biscuit base and berries were top notch but the cream cheese element could do with some work as it was slightly runny. Overall I would say it’s a good concept but not sure it would be something I want to do every time I’m after a steak. In my opinion the meat quality is on the lower end and that’s reflective of the score given. Would I go back? I would say yes

Visited Hot Rock Cafe for the first time on the 26th August 2023 for my Anniversary meal. Great atmosphere and service. We ordered the creamy garlic mushroom and bread starter- bread was fresh and the creamy garlic was nice. For the main we opted for the Summer Deal. I chose the hot rock lamb and the husband chose the rump steak. The deal came with a choice of steak (chicken, minted, hot rock lamb or rump steak), chunky chips, peppercorn sauce and a drink. The experience with the hot rock was fun and we enjoyed our steaks as medium rare. We also ordered the trio of butters: Cracked Black Pepper Butter Garlic and Herb Butter Naga Butter I thoroughly enjoyed the garlic & herb and the naga butters. For the dessert we opted for the original mixed berry deconstructed cheesecake- this was wow! I recommend getting one each (it’s that good)! Already planning to return to Hot Rock Bradford!

Very surprising steak, far above domestic standards

Excellent place. Don’t just expect the to eat steak. It’s the whole experience. The best bit was the fillet steak was brilliant.

A hidden little gem that is underrated! This place is unfortunately hidden away in a shabby spot but is well worth a visit. The owner is a wonderful and friendly man, and the pride and passion in his work comes across clearly. He very kindly invited us in to the kitchen and showed us how the steak is stored and cooked. It was a welcome relief to see the immaculate condition of the kitchen! The steak is cooked on a hot rock at your table, so its an experience not just a meal. Having said that, if you are very hungry and not so confident in cooking a steak then this could be a fiddly and frustrating experience! Also, it's not one for young kids as the rocks are very hot. But a great group experience, thoroughpy enjoted it. And we all said we would return!
