It is a great little restaurant with that different factor. Sri Lankan tapas dishes, the sharing plates are great value and you get to try a wide range of dishes.

Two of us walked in with no reservation at 5pm. Welcomed with a table for an early dinner and really good quick service. Olivia was great. The food was superb. You will not find better in Ilkley. Price was very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. Will be back soon.

The first time I visited I gave 3 stars, this time it's 5 stars all the way. Thank You Brooks Sri Lankan Tapas for a wonderful evening. The service was my reason for 3 stars last time, this time we received superb service. Our evening couldn't have been better, we'll be back.

Best meal out in ages. Food was excellent, especially the fish cutlets and the aubergine. Wide range of meat fish and veggie options. Service was polite and attentive. Water delivered to table without asking. Manager visited individual tables to check everyone was happy. Highly recommend. Will definitely visit again

We ate lunch here and had a wonderful time. The food is delicious and is very authentic, bringing back happy memories of an amazing trip to Sri Lanka years ago. The service was excellent from the owners and we will return in the near future. Special thanks to Subu for the Sambal recipe, I will try to make it at home although I very much doubt it will be as good!

Ordered a takeaway service was quick and got the order correct. Just was very disappointed with the food, especially when it cost £50 for a takeaway I’d expect better. The fish cakes were that dry they were almost impossible to eat along side the beef in the curry. The rest of the food was ok nothing special don’t think I’d be in any rush to try it again.

Still the best tempura prawns in the world. Also I love the sweet, sour and spicy pineapple. Lime soda made with fresh lime juice so delicious.

Fabulous food, service, atmosphere...

Lovely staff and delicious food, which are enough to merit five stars. But add in the little things, like cloth napkins, water jug ready on the table, a selection of non-alcoholic adult drinks, lime-and-soda made with real limes, and there really is nothing to find fault with.

Had a lovely evening at this superb restaurant what wonderful sirlankan food and the owners were amazing nothing too much trouble to make your evening special And would highly recommend you try this I would certainly come back on my next trip as I am from Scarborough and we have nothing like this here thank you 😊

What a fabulous dining experience food was out of this world. So many amazing tastes. Nothing to much trouble for staff who were so helpful. Lovely clean restaurant and would definitely recommend a visit. Can't wait to return.

Fantastic. We loved the food. Very tasty. We had dishes with hake, jackfruit, foraged mushrooms, hoppers, lettuce tacos and coconut rice. All gluten-free! For dessert I had a wonder dish like a Sri Lankan creme caramel and my husband had a sherry fruitcake dish. Both lovely. Bonus - our dog was with us (under the table!). Highly recommended.

Our first visit to this sri lankan restaurant which was taken over few years ago. Lovely welcome...decor and music 🎶 very comfortable. Menu is quite vast with lots of things. Food was delicious will definitely go again.

First time we giving a restaurant five stars for food, service and atmosphere. This place changed my perception of Sri Lanka food as my ignorant self thought was only thick curry similar to Indian. The food is top notch, refreshing curry that I finished every drop of, huge hake mallum is just something extraordinary which I've never tasted before. Must order the mallum and king prawn curry. Even the side dish of rice is so soft and fluffy, I am going to ask them where I can get the rice. Service is attentive and friendly, and seating is comfortable, great interior design. I'd go on but best that more people try this place for themselves. Totally worth paying the price. We ordered four tapas, a side and a dessert and we had already overeaten.

What a gem of a restaurant! A must if you like good food!! A varied menu without being overwhelming! The Brooks sharing was delicious. The Pol Roti were so fresh and tasty! To finish we had the Watallapam.. simply WOW! Will be sure to visit again next time I'm in 30min radius!

Just wow! We stopped in friendly and beautiful little restaurant not really knowing what to expect. We were so delighted to be met by such friendly staff fantastic atmosphere and delicious food. We had four Tapas dishes and a side dish which was perfect for two people. If you’re passing by, we could not recommend this enough.

This restaurant is amazing, everything about it is so good. I've been a couple of times now and I've never been disappointed. The dishes are superb and the staff are really welcoming. You should go and eat there, you really should.

All I can say is wow. I am so glad we tried this gorgeous little gem. I have 2 young typical boys and worried how they boys would be in such a lovely looking restaurant but it is such a great place for families. The kids meals are such good quality food and my eldest even enjoyed trying all the tapas dishes we ordered. I can't fault the food at all, every single dish was gorgeous but I would especially recommend the tuna, it was the best tuna I have ever had. We had 3 tapas dishes and a side each and I would say that was perfect for us. All the staff were so welcoming and on the ball, nothing was too much trouble. Definitely one of the best meals we have had in a very very long time and I would most definitely recommend it.

Hands down the best meal i have ever eaten. On top of this the staff and waitresses are exceptional, knowledgable and polite. I eat out a lot and ive never experienced food like this. We will be back!!

Fantastic find, staff were lovely, drinks and food arrived quickly. Food was absolutely delicious, I recommend 3 plates each if you’re hungry. We also ordered a starter to share of ciabatta, a side and a dessert each and it was just the right amount of food. Not a single negative to say about this restaurant! Table next to us brought their dog and the owner went straight and got the good boi a bowl of water, 10/10

Visited tonight after seeing good reviews. We arrived and were shown to a table at the top of the stairs. Wasn’t great as we felt in the way but nothing we could do. Drinks were fine. Courgette starter was far too salty and overcooked. Chicken liver bland and dry. Prawns were bland and rubbery. Chicken was overcooked and tasted like a ready meal. Pork was shocking. So much so they ended up knocking it off the bill. It was dry and horrible. Sea bass was quite nice. Tuna was nice. The best dish was the aubergine. That was very, very good. Overall the food was pretty rubbish. Mainly overcooked and bland. The pork was embarrassingly bad and that is apparently a signature dish! Service was friendly throughout.

All I can say is you must eat here when in Ilkley! The whole experience was fantastic. The staff, ambiance and the food were faultless. I would travel to Ilkley just to have that meal again.

The choices and quality of food were exceptional. Every element was well cooked and flavoursome.Our hosts were pleasant and helpful. The only issue that we had was that we couldn't try everything as they were all saliva inducing. Will have to return. Plenty of choice for various diets. Dog friendly too.

We booked this restaurant on recommendation from our AirBnb while visiting Ilkley. Absolutely delicious food and great being small tapas style plates so we could try a variety. Totally different style of food to your usual Indian restaurants. All so fresh and tasty. Will definitely be back when visiting Ilkley.

Food was absolutely delicious- authentic Sri Lankan food with a twist! Our favourites were the Moratuwa chicken and the wattalappam. The staff were lovely and very attentive. We'll be coming back for sure!

Brilliant place, the quality of the food was amazing, a nice change as completely different dishes to what you find elsewhere. The food quality was top and the prices very reasonable for the quality of the food , excellent value, we hadn't been before so took a potluck on what to order and everything we had was perfect, the staff were lovely, service impeccable, can highly recommend.

The food was absolutely amazing! I’m a vegetarian but the rest of my family are not and there was plenty of choice for us all! The veggie options were so delicious that everyone wanted to share! The service was also very good and the waitresses very attentive.

Wow! Checked every single box. Great food, excellent service, and a wonderful ambience. We've been planning to visit for ages, and I'm now kicking myself for not having gone sooner. Great atmosphere, mixed with very personable service and attention. We ordered several dishes from the extensive menu, some with a good amount of spice, along with some traditional family dishes and sides. All dishes were excellent in taste as well as portion size. We’ll definitely be back again soon. We can’t fault it, book now!

Called here purely by luck, what a great restaurant this is. The staff were fantastic and very helpful. The food was really good with a good choice of fish and veg tapas that we prefer. (Meat dishes were also plentiful). We enjoyed our visit here very much and will be calling again the next time we visit ilkley.

This really is an excellent restaurant. Great value - just over £60 for four people for lunch. Another TripAdvisor review comments that it would take £100 to leave two people 'full'. I wholeheartedly disagree. Moratuwa chicken, the green been and cashew curry, and the hoppers were particular highlights. We'll be back!

Lovely, friendly restaurant Polite staff Delicious food

Spouse and I visited on a Tuesday in early October. Lovely food and great value. Had six tapas, dessert and wine and coffee. All tapas were lovely, particularly the beef curry and devilled fish. Owner/hostess apparently learned her love of cooking from her mother, who was evidently an excellent cook and teacher.

Ilkley is quiet on a Tuesday night, but we struck lucky with Brooks. Delicious food complimented by excellent service in a lovely restaurant. All the food was good but the chicken livers were especially tasty. Highly recommend Brooks .. we will definitely go again.

Interesting menu. Nice staff. However we left hungry. Dishes too small for price. Not great value. I think it would cost £100 for 2 people to have a substantial meal. I would recommend the beef curry and the butterfly prawn dish. The chicken on skewers was not great. They need to tweak the menu a bit at lunchtime for diners who don't want to spend a fortune. Maybe include a decent portion of rice.

My first meal at this utterly charming little restaurant. The aroma that hits you when you walk through the door suggests a delicious meal is in store. My sense of smell didn't disappoint. Brooks is my new favourite restaurant 😊 the food could not be tastier, the staff couldn't be more helpful, the portions were more than ample for this oversized man. I will be bringing all my friends for a run out to Ilkley to introduce them to this gem of a restaurant.

Absolute gem of a place in the centre of Ilkley, traditional Sri Lankan food and hospitality. Food first class, would particularly recommend the Tiger Prawn Curry but everything was just perfect and very reasonably priced.

Good quality, interesting authentic Sri Lankan flavours (we honeymooned there!), good friendly service. Perhaps a little pricey for what you get, but it’s a different experience from any other restaurant in the area and we would recommend it.

We had a fantastic meal at this restaurant with some absolutely amazing tasting food. The chilli potatoes are a little too hot for my liking but certainly worth a try. The vegetarian selections are varied and you won’t go hungry. Try the green curry or the lentil lettuce tacos. Both equally delicious. There’s only one lager on tap but a few bottled options including non-alcoholic. It was quiet inside with only a few tables occupied. Music was a little too loud for catching up with friends and it was quite warm, but the food quality made up for these minor negatives.

It may be unassuming but Brooks packs a punch on flavour. I visited with 3 friends on Saturday evening and there was a real buzz about the place. Every dish we tried was excellent varying in heat and flavour but I have no doubt authentic....

A nice lively non pretentious environment, although nothing remotely Sri lankhan about the decor. We had 4 drinks, the beers were fine but the cocktail overly sweet and the cava quite flat. The brooks sharing platter was disappointing. Very carb heavy with potato’s, flat breads...
