Went to the garden centre with friends for coffee and cake. Restaurant is nice and bright, very clean and tidy. Asked for a latte but was told they did not have any powder left, to make one. Had an ordinary coffee and some cheesecake, which was very nice. Went in the afternoon, and it was not too busy, my friend had a gluten free dessert, which she said was very nice.

Pleasant staff busy loading new areas for spring summer etc. Decided to have a bite to eat for breakfast. Seen the loaded omelette over website and digital screen in store. Went to order, they’ve run out of omelettes! Well can I get three breakfasts which come with 2 eggs each????? Had a sausage sandwich which I think was £6 and it was poor. Plenty of other choices locally so probably won’t go back.

We usually enjoy coming here. But today with it being a Sunday, it was extremely busy. And unfortunately that meant not enough staff was on in the cafe, saying that, we did see a number of staff coming from the back which I am guessing is the kitchen. But not one person jumped on the till, to help the poor lady that was in the front, so the que was very long. To that Lady well done. You was very polite and didn't look stressed, but guessing you was. To the rest. Shame on them!! Karma.

cafe is abysmal, most of the staff couldn't care less, quite abrupt and rude, the poor young lass on the till was lovely and quite embarrassed around them. The kids chips were undercooked, the 'bloomer' bread that is supposed to come with the soup was just 2 slices of baguette, there were no croutons either ridiculous prices for the state of what you're served, and staff aren't interested or helpful when you complain, they should be embarrassed serving that rubbish

Have often visited with my daughter, generally very good but marked low because the toilets are absolutely diabolical and a health hazard. The smell in there is unbearable, very, very strong smell of concentrated urine. The hand washing facilities urgently need looking at - the water comes out so boiling hot, so much so that my daughter could have scolded herself (I nearly did). There is a sign to warn you about this - likely to cover their own backs but I do expect to be able to wash my hands thoroughly, especially in there, without running the risk of a nasty burn. Staff always fantastic and very helpful, food usually very good value - but the carvery does often run out very quickly (incidentally, they don’t tell you what’s ran out until after you have paid - including pigs in blankets which are extra).

We go here as often as we can for the beautiful carvery, delicious tender meat & a wide range of beautiful vegetables, which we load up onto our plates! we have tried other delicious food here but it's so hard turning down the carvery, you must try one of their big breakfasts & a choice of how you want your eggs, which is wonderful, best of all the amazing team that work really hard in the restaurant to look after their customers, always so friendly & helpful & a joy to be around, they are truly amazing ♥️

Been several times over the years, have emailed restaurant direct before about a poor experience but today's Ploughman's platter salad was really poor. Previously been a generous portion, but much smaller today. 2 corners of cheese, 2 slices of ham but the salad was minuscule, branton pickle dried out and a thin slice of bloomer supposed to be a 'wedge' . for a whopping £11! Sadly our last visit.

My partner and I regularly visit Hornsea Garden Centre whenever we are in the area. The plants are many and varied, well looked after and thriving. Additionally the garden centre has so many other sections , as many garden centres do, which support local businesses and trades but here they are well set out and look attractive.. It is simply a joyous place to while away a few hours. The cafe and restaurant serve delicious food and drinks of all sorts but our particular favourite is the carvery on a Sunday lunchtime . The food is fresh, the meats are tender and such a variety of vegetables. The staff work really hard and yet still find time to be pleasant , and so helpful when you need it. They go above and beyond. I thoroughly recommend this.

Arrived at 2 30pm for the carvery but they had no meat left, which is fair enough maybe we were a bit late. So we ordered 4 other meals all of which were very small and to be honest not very nice we actually asked if we had been given a child’s portion? Poor tasting all round the table. The waitress was polite and helpful and said she would change one of the meals however near the end of finishing our food one of our party found a hair under her food. Definitely won’t be ordering food again.

At £8.50 the sandwich and small side of chips was a great disappointment. I took my tuna sandwich back to the counter as I couldn't believe the cheap bread and lack of filling, the gentleman was so very nice and clearly quite embarrassed himself. He explained that they had gone onto a new portion control system. What portion is that? It doesn't cover half the bread.

We have visited this garden centre and restaurant many times over the years, but after a break we visited today. The garden centre as a garden centre is fine. The restaurant however was disappointing. We ordered a carvery and there was no small plate option, it started at regular. The small children options for example weren't appropriate. The food was luke warm, the vegetables were overcooked and tasteless. The gammon was fine but the beef, carved from a tiny end of joint was chewy. The cheese on the cauliflower cheese brought out as we arrived at the counter was burnt. All in all not a good experience and therefore, sadly not value for money. My Family won't be eating there again. Sorry

We enjoyed the breakfast in the very pleasant cafe/restaurant. Good quality food and coffee at a reasonable price. Plenty to see in the large retail areas and garden centre. One word of warning though. Throughout the premises the floor level varies albeit sometimes by not very much but enough to catch both myself and my wife out. Elderly people should be made aware of this when entering the premises. My wife fell as she exited the ladies wc fortunately she was ok.

Have been here many times to the restaurant but disappointed on this occasion. The carvery has gone up £1 and the amount of meat [turkey] was measly & bitty. The food wasn’t hot either just warm. If it weren’t for the assortment of vegetables to make up for the lack of meat it would have a less star rating. I am not a vegetarian ! Come on Hornsea you can do much better. I would give 5 stars for the garden centre which is fantastic .

Toilets absolute disgrace to this company. Wet floors( safety hazard) , lack of toilet rolls, broken dryers and flushes. Vile smell no air freshener. Some toilets don’t flush properly and can be blocked. No staff checking print out. My friend is in a wheelchair access problematic, which in this day and age should be far better. Are these toilets at a legal standing. Although we like to come for a drink and scone, we hope we don’t need to use the toilets.

We visited the restaurant today at 1pm looking at having a carvery meal. However they had already run out of all meats and the Carvery was closed. I find it incredible that a Carvery runs out of food by 1pm. When speaking to staff they explained they were only allowed by head office to prepare a certain amount of food to prevent wastage and when it was gone they closed the station down. We have been regular customers often calling in for lunch on our way home from Hornsea and have recently noticed standards have fallen with often limited meats on the Carvery but to completely run out by 1pm is unacceptable and we will not be returning. There were several other people arriving at the same time who were saying the same thing so they have now lost a number of regular customers.

Visited today -Jan 2nd,and was looking forward to a lovely lunch, decided against our usual carvery after having too much at Christmas and chose scampi and chips but it was truly awful. Allowing for the fact it was not value for money but it was also so overcooked it was like trying to eating a plate of crisps. Unfortunately we are not very mobile so seeking out someone to complain to was not an option. It was a lesson learnt--a wonderful garden centre, spoilt by the meal

Brought my grandsons to visit Santa's grotto. The elves were attentive and entertaining and made the wait to see Santa a very enjoyable experience, keeping the boys busy making glittery decorations and reindeer food, poor elves were getting covered in glitter! Santa himself was fantastic and as jolly and kind as you'd expect a Santa to be. Also came with my daughter the week prior for lunch. It was very busy but service was promp and the food was delicious and good value for money. We had a bacon and brie ciabatta which came with a side salad and chunky chips and we had a mug of hot chocolate each. My daughter had cream and marshmallows with hers and they didn't scrimp on the toppings, much to her delight! I've never had a negative experience here so I'm surprised by some comments I've read. If you're not happy with a service, tell them, if you are happy, like me, tell everyone! Happy Christmas to all staff and bah humbug to the moaners 😉

We popped in for Sunday lunch at 4 PM and were gutted to find the turkey had sold out. But the chef was brilliant—he came over three times with different alternatives to make sure we were happy. Top-notch service! We went for the beef and gammon, and when the food arrived, it was absolutely spot on—plenty of it, full of flavour, and seriously hit the spot. Washed it down with a pint of Blonde Bombshell, and by the end, we were absolutely stuffed! The pub had a nice, chilled vibe, not too busy at that time. Kids and dogs were both welcome, which was great. We would’ve loved to squeeze in dessert, but there was just no chance! Definitely recommend if you’re after a cracking Sunday roast with great service
