Been in a couple of times. Always busy. Great beers to many to name and difficult choices to be made. Love the 1/3,1/2,2/3 of a pint serving. Just what Kings Heath needs since Cherry Red moved.

Such a great bar. Rotating selection of keg and cask beers with plenty of support for local breweries and those further afield. Beer (and cider) supplemented with a good selection of spirits and a few very well stocked beer fridges with a large selection of bottles and cans. Always a warm welcome and a friendly bunch of customers. I'd give it more stars if I could.

When I'm either shopping or cat sitting l pop in. I love a good pint or 2 of pale ale & packet of crisps. Lovely atmosphere & friendly staff.

Very stylish bar. Has a feeling of being a club. Sofas, chairs and tables. Great selection of real ale... draught beers, lagers and cider, as well as shorts. Very convivial atmosphere. Bar person will help you choose your drink. Can buy a third of a pint with some drinks. Are opening another bar on Institute Road, which will sell continental beers, in particular, Belgian beers. Highly recommended. 30 December 2023. Just the same as above. It is a really congenial place to go.

Really nice beers, ales and ciders! We all tried different ones and they even had loads of tasty alcohol free options which was handy for the drivers. Great atmosphere too!

Popped in for a Friday night beer. Small "front room" style bar. Plenty of choice of drinks - may be too much ? Not too easy to manoeuvre to bar as cramped for space wirh perhaps too many people.

Popped in for a beer, descent selection. Prices for 2 thirds of a pint. But you can have a pint if you desire. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice little place. Enjoyed my visit.

I come here regularly, and it's a wonderful place to grab many variety of beers. They don't serve food, but 5 out of 5 for the crisp selection.

H&S has come a long way since it first opened and is now a firm neighbourhood favourite. Always a warm welcoming atmosphere with an excellent rotating line up of traditional cask beers and interesting beers on keg

Visited today. Non existent customer service from staff who where more interested in talking to the mates. Watching the bartender eat with his hands behind the bar and then make people's drinks without cleaning said hands was a paticular highlight. Highly disappointing

Great bar run by a lovely couple. Very well priced drinks. It's small so gets very busy on an evening. Which is no surprise for such an excellent bar. Will be back for sure

Having walked past many times, I finally arranged a visit with some friends. We were not disappointed. A great selection of beer, well priced, and it was personally a delight to get a well poured cask ale. A friendly atmosphere, with just the right level of buzz to enjoy a Thursday night beer with friends.

Cracking venue, there is always plenty of excellent keg and cask to choose from. Sam, Paul and Jim are always welcoming and we are always made to feel very much part of the H&S community. Can’t wait to move back to the Heath and visit regularly! Well done team. 👍🍻🍻

Absolutely amazing place, kids and dogs friendly, which is ideal when you have both! Great choice of beers and whiskey, relaxed atmosphere too.

Excellent selection of brews on tap or from the fridge. A shop conversion, so not the largest of establishment but it works well. Go try it for yourself!

Popped in for a couple beers on Friday evening and to escape the heat. Nice chilled vibes which was exactly what we were looking for.

Great little craft ale spot this is. Never realised it was a crafty place until my visit. Highly recommend if that's your sort of thing and the only place in KH that of a crafty nature. Did I say craft?

Visited for the first time on a busy Saturday evening with a few friends. Staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. Four Cask ales were available which were in perfect condition, lots of Craft beer available too. Clientele created a pleasant atmosphere. Place is dog friendly if you want to bring your pooch. Currently the best bar in King's Heath in my opinion, only Fletchers comes close. Il be back.

Massive selection of weird and wonderful beers, lagers and ales. Draft on tap which varies. Friendly, knowledgeable staff in an industrial setting - no soft settees or cosy corners here. Also a huge selection of scotch. Wines and soft drinks also available, plus some cider.

We nabbed the Chesterfield sofa at the front for a relaxing evening pre club night at a local competitor. Great to have the options of 1/2, 2/3 or full pints all at a reasonable price. Could easily stay here for a relaxed evening , and we felt a strong community atmosphere. Boyfriends can become really funny on just half pints 🤷🏻‍♀️ , no playground antics were seen though.

This bar is such a local haven. It's the one bar friends and I have felt consistently safe and relaxed visiting during the pandemic for just a couple of drinks. I especially rate that every staff recommendation of a new beer to try has been spot-on!

Fantastic bar! The selection of drinks is great, and from a beer lovers perspective they have some incredible beers in tap as well as the bottles and cans. I'll definitely be coming back to try some more.

A really, really nice little bar. Incredibly clean and are taking Corona precautions seriously, and so if you have concerns about going out, then this might be the place to go. The staff are lovely, friendly and very attentive. Drinks are of course great and the prices are fair.

I have been a regular here since it opened. A great selection of beers, friendly staff and a nice relaxed atmosphere which attracts great punters too.

I have only been able to make two brief stops here, but it is an excellent micropub with a good selection of draft and keg beers and a relaxed, cosy atmosphere. I wish there was a similar bar nearer to where I live

Not quite on Kings Heath B14 High St but a gem for an ever changing cask (+- 5)and keg menu (+- 15), Whether its the lighter quafable % or heavier % you'll find what you want here. Light bar snacks help the medicine go down! Decor basic but a great atmosphere with high stool and lounge chair tables. Proprietor and colleagues knowledgable on beers and top shelf selection with frequent guest brewery tastings. You must visit, you'll be surprised and a returner!

If this wasn't so far away from me, then this would probably be my new local. Lovely micro pub, with a great selection of beers and welcoming atmosphere. I'll definitely be looking for excuses to frequent Kings Heath more often.

Just a great change from average pub. A plain box room that should be boring but its quite the opposite, they have made it quirky, + random. Suits all ages, all types + the bar guys are nice + friendly.

Fantastic place! A relaxed atmosphere and amazing, knowledgeable staff. Good prices and a great choice of very well kept, ever changing ales. The service was second to none and I couldn't find a single fault with the place. I would highly recommend this place. I've never left a review on a site before but, Hop and Scotch does indeed warrant one. And a great one at that! I would give them more than 5 stars, if I could. I hope to see them expand in the near future and have a H&S in many local neighbourhoods. If they could tuck away a few blue wkd's, in the back of their fridges, they would get yet another star from me. Can't stress enough what a fantastic place this is and well worth several visits. 👍🏼

Fantastic new style pub .we pop in here possibly once a week for a drink .they have a choice of draught and keg beers .alwways a nice atmosphere and not to rowdy .a place to have a comfortable drink and relax.
