Wok Chi in Birmingham

Me and my partner first time In Birmingham and we came across this restaurant on Google due to the reviews but we was still unsure if we wanted to take the chance but out of all that we saw this one was the best choice, So we decided to head down and try it and I’m soooo glad we did. When we entered the welcoming was just so warm, staff was so friendly, now we didn’t sit in but I wished we did so I could tell the owner how beautiful the food was. We ordered quite abit of food as we didn’t know exactly what we wanted lol but everything we got was just beautiful, full of favour (oh I could go on) we was not disappointed at all… I mean the Spring Rolls (OMG) 🤤 now I’m back up North I’m just craving Wok Chi food and I refuse to eat elsewhere ha, but I’m back down in December and I cannot wait to order from here again. Worth every penny..

Fantastic place, super friendly helpful staff who can’t do enough. Chicken curry is my favourite but all dishes are excellent

First time I visited and I must say the food was impressive. Service was timely really good. The food was outstanding. Although there is a small amount of tables, booking is advisable.

The food here is always excellent and the welcome is so warm. Try the Vietnamese steamed rolls!

Wok Chi is hands down one of the best Chinese takeaways in Birmingham! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Their portions are generous, service is fast and friendly.

Impeccable service by the gentlemen, very attentive filling up our glasses when half full, offered great suggestions, all round lovely food with great service. The wings are an absolute must have!

Had another wonderful, delicious meal here last night. Cannot fault the service, the food, any of it. Great to see so many people enjoying meals in and take away while we were there and lots more reservations expected. Great choice on the menu, friendly staff, clean and well presented restaurant. Wish we lived closer so I could visit more often! Thank you for a beautiful meal and a lovely evening.

I absolutely love Wok chi, it's a great place to eat. Alfie and Linda are fab 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 The staff are very attentive and always keep the place spotless. I'm very picky and a vegetarian and I find the food very good as they cook it how I like it. Alfie is a top bloke and always makes you feel welcome. Always enjoy eating there and really recommend it.

Went tonight 22/05/24 with the family. Clean and well kept, restaurant. Plan to make a reservation in future. Was lucky enough that a table was available when we arrived tonight. Friendly family run restaurant. Food was great. Leftovers can be taken home.

Lovely gem of a restaurant in Harborne. I called at short notice and a table was set up for my family including accommodating a pushchair, all in 30 mins. The service and hospitality was 5 star and the food even better, best I have had! The prices are also very very reasonable and portions generous. I would certainly recommend and will be back again!

Very rarely these days do I find somewhere that lives up to the expectation borne from the reviews - well Wok Chi definitely did live up to it and more. Stunning fresh tasting food in the most wonderfully friendly atmosphere, Alfie is the most charming of hosts and nothing seems too much trouble. This is the best Chinese food I have tasted and the prices are very reasonable. Looking forward to our next visit already.

I had a lovely time at WokChi today. The owner is so friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent with large portions. I was very full by the end. It is a bit of a small restaurant so I would recommend trying to book ahead if you are able to.

Staying locally for work, and searched via Google for independent places to eat, and couldn't not try Wok Chi based on the reviews. A friendly welcome, despite a busy restaurant and takeaway orders. Order taken and food arrived in the time estimated. Hot, tasty and would definitely recommend. I had the satay stir fry with coated chicken and Thai rice. Generous portion size too.

Booked a recent visit on New Year’s Eve. Although the establishment was very busy the food was impeccable, fresh and extremely Tasty. The owners are extremely welcoming. The best Chinese around and will definitely be returning.

Excellent restaurant! I used to avoid Chinese food, due to a few bad experiences at other restaurants, but this place completely changed my mind! Excellent quantity and quality of food with some really unique flavours! I'd really recommend if you live in or visit Birmingham as it's real find and the chef is very talented!

Looks like chinesse food, but it doesn't taste like it. The food it is very bland, and the stir fry is full of black pepper and soggy noodles. I don't recommend them....

Can't ask for more. Some dishes are better than others. They need to review their entire offering and remove the dishes that don't do justice to their concept. And add some more breath-taking dishes.

Dare I say, this is the best Chinese restaurant in Birmingham. The service is 110%; We are always very well looked after. The food is delicious and made with a good heart. The pan fried lemmongrass chicken and Shao Shing beef is absolutely to die for! Keep up the great work and high standards. Thank you

5 star all round. What an amazing place this is. The food is ALWAYS fantastic. Cooked to perfection and tastes incredible. We regularly visit here, when my father comes over from Stockholm, Sweden. We went two times in one week because we love it so much. The owners are just fabulous. They’re incredibly friendly, welcoming and have two beautiful children who helps out at times - both of which are extremely professional and polite. Highly recommend and encourage all to visit here and support a superb fabulous business. Just love it

Freshly prepared food that unfortunately was lacking in flavour and basic seasoning. Large portions. Rather average price to quality ratio, £25 for a single persons takeaway I'd expect a bit more from it.

I visited a few times already, every friend I brought in enjoyed the food. So far I’ve tried the Tom Yum, salt & pepper squid, beef chow mein, dim sums, Wok Chi special. I can’t fault it, the place is clean and I love that it’s family ran.

Probably the best chinese in birmingham in my opinion the ramen noodle soup is perfect for this cold weather I'm just sad I have to travel from black heath to Harborne for this goodness

Visited Wok Chi for the first time due to several recommendations from others, happy to say it lived up to its expectations- lovely food came out at a perfect temperature, the portions sizes are amazing. The man who welcomed us into the restaurant was very welcoming making it a comfortable environment to enjoy our food in. Would totally recommend the soy honey wings and squid for starters overall experience was amazing! Will be back soon thanks 😊

Visited this evening for a quick bite to eat. Ordered chicken curry and beef curry . . Absolutely fab food. Lovely staff too. . And so welcoming The food looks like on the menu . They look after you .way better than some pricier restaurants in harbourne . Great with allergy restrictions too.

It was my first time having a takeaway delivery from Wok Chi and the food was amazing. The delivery was missing the chips I ordered, but after a phone call with a very polite member of staff the problem was resolved and chips came piping hot. I will be using again 👌🏼

Delicious freshly cooked food and generous portions. Last time we visited, they were very busy and we had a bit of a wait for our order so the owner gave us a couple of beers to pass the time, which was a nice touch and appreciated. Highly recommend.

With so many options in Harborne, ,lucky me that ordered from Wok chi, food was executed perfectly, squid was crunchy, simple flavor but settled and tasty. Great job . Wish was one in London !

My new favourite Chinese in Birmingham!! A must try! The restaurant is really nice to sit in but we took out. Would highly recommend. Flavourful and fresh Chinese food. The service was great both over the phone and in person. Had the salt and pepper fries, chicken chow mien, beef black bean and egg rice and would recommend them all. Can’t wait to come back!!

I love the food here and so does my family and their friends! Excellent quality of ingredients, fresh and that fab wok cooked taste. My seafood udon had large prawns, squid and some other seafood with perfectly seasoned noodles and of course Pak Choi etc. The wok chi special was a mix of different meats and prawns. It has a few tables and open only in the evenings but takeaway quality as good as eating in. Such a lovely and polite owner who was rushed off her feet but stayed calm and smiling.

The food and the staff here are just brilliant. My favourite eatery on the high street.

Have been wanting to come here for months and I wasn't disappointed at all. Flavours were sensational, temperature was perfect, friendly staff. I ordered the vermicelli noodles and the spare ribs with chilli salt and pepper which was yummy. Looking forward to my next visit

Always excellent quality at Wok Chi along with great service. It is not cheap, but you notice the difference in quality and will not want to go anywhere else. Wok Chi also has 5H hygiene rating, which is extremely rare amongst takeaways.

Even though this restaurant is not in our area and due to local restaurants and takeaways being of poor quality we thought we would try wok chi, mainly because of the great reviews. So glad we did. Wonderful warm welcome from a very pleasant chap called Alfie followed by a fast efficient service but in no way rushed or Intrusive .Food really lovely fresh and plentiful and we have large appetites. Will definitely return again very soon. Looking forward to it already.

Epic Chinese restaurant/takeaway. The owner is the happiest guy in the world and really friendly giving cudos to my poor attempt at mandarin. Crispy shredded beef and prawn and scallop noodles were only surpassed by ribs and sticky sweet soy and sesame wings. Eyes far too big for bellies but looking forward to lunch tomorrow 😀

My husband and I stopped by to have a dinner and it was of the best oriental meal that we’ve ever had in Birmingham, the costumer service is incredible and the place is really well look after. Deffo will be coming back for few more meals !
