I have tried to make a review and am being blocked. We did not enjoy our meal here

Lovely atmosphere. Food arrived promptly, and the table laid quickly. Ordered the seafood platter, which was lovely. Staff were accommodating in adjusting my meal to make it gluten-free. Definitely recommend it if you enjoy good seafood

The mussels were great when I ate them, not so great when I saw them again at 3am with their cousins 'cold sweats' and 'stomach cramps'. Never again.

Outstanding food, amazing service, lovely atmosphere. We were on a tight time scale, but they went out of their way to squeeze us in a desert. Fabulous.

We’ve been in Cornwall for 4 nights and had dinner here twice! An amazing and delicious seafood restaurant: excellent cooking and very fresh seafood itself. The flat iron steak is great as well. very friendly and attentive service, highly recommend!

The soup was delicious. The catch of the day very good and the sticky toffee pudding finished it all off perfectly.

Excellent restaurant with friendly staff and a great vibe and feel to it. Monkfish satay and crab nachos were both wonderful. The seafood platter was fantastic, wonderful scallops, squid and prawns with moules mariniere thrown in for good measure (and bread to mop up the heavenly sauce). We'll be back!

We visited Hooked last night for a dinner before heading to Hall for Cornwall. From the minute we walked in the service was absolutely fantastic! A very warm welcome and friendly atmosphere and we were shown to our table. We had the Crab nachos and Monkfish Satay to start and shared which was perfect. The nachos were out of this world and would definitely have them again. For our mains we both chose the Hake Kiev which was sublime! Really different and not something we’d ever seen before and the fish was cooked to perfection 👌🏻For desserts I chose the White Chocolate cheesecake which was so delicious and hubby had the sticky toffee pudding, again superb. We used to love going out for dinner regularly but felt in the last few years that the food AND service we were receiving (and the added service charge!) for was mediocre at best. BUT our meal at Hooked last night has made us realise there are great establishments out there still. Great work guys 👍🏻

It's easy to pass by Hooked on a small side street. That would be a HUGE mistake to make. A really lovely (mostly) fish restaurant. The Crab Nachos as a starter are to die for. We shared a plate but could easily have had one each, nothing cheesy or gluey about these nachos as they were crispy and light and full of flavour. Delicious. We then had the Mushroom Zucca Pasta. Creamy, light, warming. A bit like tagliatelle but not ribbons, but a shape, but not a shape you can describe. Fabulous. And the Catch of the Day which was Butterflied Red Mullet on a bed of potato, samphire and kale. Just gorgeous. All congratulations to the ladies serving up delightful food. A lovely room, nice atmosphere, clean loos... Hooked really has it all. BIG recommend!

Lovely fish restaurant. Had the starter of Asian inspired Satay Monkfish. It was delicious. Main course of fish and chips, again delicious. Would recommend it

Fantastic sea food and great service

Had a lovely experience there as a french family with two little girls. We had ray wings, a fish n chip with a cury and everything was fresh, tasty and wonderful! Thanks so much for the welcome 🌟 we only passed by but it was such a nice moment with the chill music and sea decorations.

A great choice of fish dishes and other foods, really well cooked and presented, in a lovely small restaurant with a good atmosphere. Close to the Hall for Cornwall and parking.

Such a lovely, atmospheric dining experience. The food was impeccable, deliciously balanced, nicely presented, every mouthful was a treat. I had the perfectly cooked monkfish starter, which has a fabulous Asian spiced element to it. Followed by the seafood platter, a generous portion of fresh and flavourful seafood, in an incredibly rich but delicate sauce. The salted caramel dessert went down delightfully to finish off the evening. Honestly some of the best food I’ve had in Truro in a while, with a nice wine list to match. Highly recommend. If you’re a lover of fish, you simply have to make this your next stop- or if you’re not, there are other bits on the menu for you too. The ladies serving the food were all very friendly, warm and welcoming, making the evening all the more enjoyable. You would have no idea you’re situated on a road, it’s well decorated and designed to offer a cosy, modern, and classy environment as soon as you step in the doors. 5*****

We loved this restaurant in Truro - Jade couldn't have been any more accommodating and the whole staff were lovely too. Fresh, yummy fish too, I can't wait to come back and have another fish platter!

Visited Hooked the other week as a table of 13. Food was delicious and the service was prompt and friendly. Excellent fish curry.

Great fresh fish and dog friendly

The food was so well balanced with its seasoning and acidity. We didn't need to add any condiments to it and could enjoy it exactly how chef wanted the customer to have it. The waiting staff were very polite with a balance of friendliness and professionalism. We felt so at ease and looked after by them.

Very tasty crab soup and boullabaise. Portions were small .The hake kiev and lemon sole were OK. Should order a side salad.

Cracking place. Tasty food. Lovely service. Well worth a visit. Crab tacos were my favourite. The scotch egg with the pork belly was lush too.

Starter of Crab nachos wow! Superb, followed by an amazing seafood platter. I’ve had some platters in my time but this was the best ever.The accompanying sauce was perfect.Great service all round. Thanks.

The power of Google as we would not have happened on Hooked without the reference. A rainy lunch time and we fancied some really good fish and chips - friendly welcome , smart restaurant, good menu - a sense of quality about the place. Our fish and chips were excellent ( though i would rather the fish was not piled on top of the chips - I blame Masterchef as most restaurants now do this - i like to see what is on the plate and have nothing hidden) - really tasty. Coffee to finish. Excellent experience with professional service - thank you.

Amazing food and the staff were super friendly. Cocktails were amazing, the espresso martini's should come with a warning as they are so delicious but very strong!

We had dinner at this place and it was an excellent taste experience. We ate excellent fish and chips and a specialty of the day: breaded cod fillet with vegetables, very tasty indeed. The staff is very welcoming and smiling, available to support choices by offering explanations. There is a nice atmosphere in the room, which is very spacious and well-kept. Absolutely recommended.

What a great seafood place! Amazing crab gratin, mind-blowing hake Kiev, and delicious chocolate desserts.

Came here for dinner with family. Service was super friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere is lovely, I particularly enjoyed the music. We ordered the catch of the day (ray), lobster thermidor, crispy squid and the vegetable options from the starters. The only thing worth getting was the catch of the day which was delicious. Overall though, portions are very small for the price and we ended up having to go for a second dinner elsewhere. Cocktails were nice though, I'd recommend the tipsy mermaid for a spin on a piña colada. Maybe worth coming to Hooked for a drink and a side but not for a meal.

Wonderful seafood restaurant in Truro. Hidden off the main square so slightly anonymous, but an excellent find. Best to book your table in advance as does get busy quickly. The food we had was both delicious and wonderfully presented. Such a lovely place.

Myself and my family of 7 went for dinner this evening (one baby and one 4yo). The staff were so lovely and accommodating, our main server was Soleil, who gave us a very warm welcome and was all round sunshine, really living up to her name! Thank you Soleil. The food was incredible! Props to the chefs! We had a mixture of things between us, from the fish curry, steak to the seafood platter. Along with starters and deserts for everyone too. Would highly recommend a trip. 10/10!

Incredibly good and friendly service, with a really lovely atmosphere. Cocktails were nice but a bit too sweet and pricey. Unfortunately the food was a let down. For those prices, bigger portions are expected, and overall the food (lobster thermadore and a number of sides) was just kind of ok. That being said, I would definitely recommend the catch of the day out of everything. This was 5/5. Delicious flavour. Would come back for this only. But not much meat on the fish.

Went with family for a meal and can honestly say the food does not disappoint! The staff are all so friendly and joyful which makes the dining experience better. We did wait for the food for a while but it was really worth the wait. Unfortunately we’re not local but if we are ever down again we will definitely be stopping by.

We went for the Mussels in Goan Curry Sauce i highly recommend very tasty! The fish and chips were average, and mushroom linguini was creamy and delicious!! Atmosphere was fantastic and service friendly and efficient. Will certainly be returning here.

Absolutely delicious food, really loved the crab nachos! Great service and friendly conversation. Had the catch of the day and was very pleased. The chocolate ganache pudding was very rich and too large but enjoyable.

Fresh fish, cooked to restaurant standard. Pricier than other local restaurants, but worth the additional few pounds for the restaurant level dishes.

Oh my goodness...I am a fussy eater but couldn't find fault with anything here, it all surpassed our expectations. The staff are attentive but not intrusive, presentation is attractive, and everything was cooked to perfection...very pleased to have discovered this gem of a restaurant tucked away in Truro! Don't hesitate to go..you're in for a treat ...

Really nice experience. Service was fast, friendly and polite. The menu had a good range on as well as specials. All three courses were served just right in terms of times. The food was amazing, really lovely flavours and well priced.

Very quiet on a Wednesday night, deserved to be busier. The seafood was first rate and the service friendly and efficient. Fairly basic decor but appropriate. We had the Cornish sole which was lovely and reasonably priced.

Came to Hooked for a special birthday lunch. Food was fab - I highly recommend the crab nachos or seafood platter. Lovely service from Jade also!

I had Hake Kiev, my wife had Catch of the Day, Lemon Sole. Waitress Jade is a marvel, when my wife dropped her fork on her jacket Jade appeared immediately with a hot damp tissue to wipe it clean.

Just finished a fantastic meal at Hooked! Tiger prawns were delicious and a main of fish curry was delicious. Thoroughly recommended.

The best fish I have ever eaten. Scallops were melt in the mouth, and the cod was delicious. Really enjoyed the whole meal. Brilliant service too, made us feel very welcome

We visited Hooked for an evening meal and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The Hake Kiev was amazingly cooked and the pancetta and cheese paired exceptionally well! The seafood platter was cooked exceptionally well and the char was spot on. Would highly recommend a visit if in the area and wouldn't hesitate to return!

Been a couple of times and the food has always been excellent. Mackerel tacos and the Goan mussels are very good. Great service as well. Will be back.

Absolutely bloody amazing, it was for my birthday and I could have cried tears of joy at the card, the oysters were so amazing and soft and perfect, mussels were just so fresh and lovely the wine stunning and the lady who served us was just lovely and an absolute credit. We had the hake and fish curry - fairly small portions and very under-seasoned especially for the price. Most disappointing meal on our holiday. 😢 Went to St Agnes for pudding.

Second time here and made it a point to come again after last time . Still as good although the large seafood platter is now a single portion rather than a combined plate ( see my other pictures) Crab nachos were great . The seafood platter though was good but not as generous as before … and no fish in it ( prices of hake or cod like last time ) so that was a shame . Lovely all the same ! Review from last time - Love seafood ? You have to try this place ! Only fish , but it’s gorgeous ! Friendly service and very reasonable for the quality and quantity . Very much deserving of 5 stars

What a lovely seafood restaurant in Truro. The food was deliciously unique and tasty. The service was really great as everyone was so welcoming and kind. The place has a nice ambiance and there is convenient parking right next door. Would totally recommend the crab nachos and the Korean BBQ donut as a starter.

I popped in just after one on a weekday and the restaurant soon filled up. I had the Hake Kiev. Love the fact there was more choice other haddock, cod and salmon, or though I love salmon but the Hake is special, soft and tender and delicious. No pudding today, on the move, but I will come back to sample more of the menu full. Lovely comfortable seating and deco charming.

The food here was exceptional. We had the Nacho crab and also Arancini starter with a Hake Kiev and Cornish mussels for our mains. I won on the Kiev as the sauce and everything about it was stunning. The chefs really do have attention to detail. The chorizo potatoes as a side were a hit. Would recommend this restaurant every day of the week. Staff were attentive and friendly. Can’t wait to try the sister restaurant in Falmouth.

Had an absolutely amazing lunch here today. Looked after brilliantly by Sharna and Lexi, who were attentive and friendly. We had the special starter - short rib beef "doughnut" which was just fantastic, so fresh and clever, and perfectly sized for a starter. Then for lunch I had the hake kiev which was delicious, while my other half had the Indonesian fish curry which looked and tastes vibrant and zingy. Best of all was pudding - the white chocolate / raspberry cheesecake, and frangipane tart, were inhaled in seconds! All pretty reasonably priced and in a really relaxed comfortable setting. We've eaten in plenty of places in Truro and this is right up there! Can't wait to come back on our next trip.

Second time I've eaten here. Can't praise it enough. Great food full of flavour at a reasonable price. Have had some of their nibbles, great at £3.95 each. Best fish restaurant around.

Fantastic! We went for a pre-theatre supper last Saturday! The staff were brilliant and friendly, and so ☺️ the food was amazing!! We can't wait to go back.

5 star for the Scallops, too good so ordered twice😆within £10 for 3 pieces which is great- combined with butter and fresh scallops plus meat slice in the sauce. Fish yellow curry is amazing too and very worth it if you like spicy food :)

Food excellent, good setting and service, lost a star as I dislike tips being added to the bill

I generally liked this place but I was very disappointed when paying the bill at the till area and trying to find some money for a tip and I'd already been charged 10% without asking, I'd not been given a paper copy beforehand, and the waitress never mentioned that I had been charged, she let me pay twice for service which I thought was wrong. By the time I looked at my receipt afterwards (I was attending the theatre), I noticed the charge. Not good.

Had our works Xmas dinner there. Food was amazing had the chowder , the hake , sticky toffee pudding. Service as alway fantastic, all very friendly and welcoming. Brilliant night had by all.
