Food was very bland and tasteless, won’t be coming here again.

There is not many places you can get a quality Chinese in a restaurant still! Top place with great food and staff. Would highly recommend!

The food was very good, but having driven to the restaurant 2 of us would liked to have had zero beer, but when we asked, we were told they did not have alcohol free drinks.Which put a dampener on our evening. .

Good value for money dinner for two. Chicken satay in the starter stood out from the crowd and the fried fish in ginger and spring onions was very decent too. Mrs and myself both left happy for under £60. Happy Hons Days

Best Chinese food to ever exist

Food was absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection in good size portions. Limited parking to the rear. Toilet was spotlessly clean although the stairs are a killer if you have mobility problems. Will definitely return.

Had the best food here recently I've had from Hons in years. It was very close to being back to its glory days of 2 decades+ ago. The waiters could be a little friendlier, and I wish they brought back the change of tablecloth after the main course so you aren't sitting in rice and noodles. Also the dessert menu desperately needs some love (although it is at least super cheap). Still, overall a success. Edit: March 2024, downgrading to 3 stars for the awful service tonight. At least 1 member of staff short and our table fell into the great post-main course void.

Such an amazing Chinese restaurant!!! My second time eating out here and my impression is only growing more positively! Great service by friendly staff and food was well cooked and hot when served. I chose feast E with my party of four and we were delighted with our choice. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and I would recommend the set menus. This venue doesn't have parking but there is a pay and display about 2 minute walk away

As a family of 4, we booked on the day (which was good) for an early meal at 5:30 on a Saturday. Surprisingly very busy restaurant with all tables full by 6pm. Serving staff were kind and friendly. We ordered dim sum, 2 sizzling dishes, 2 meat dishes, rice, chow mein and vegetables. Not huge but satisfying portions, some dishes were ok and others better/worse. No desserts on the menu. One option for beer (fosters) and no chopsticks available which isn't a huge deal but made the place feel like we would have been better getting a take away. We were sat under an air conditioning vent and one of us in the party moved chairs around the table to get away from a draught. Car parking available nearby but designated car park for about 3 cars was full in arrival.

We where a party of 8. We received a great and friendly service and nothing was to much trouble. The food was plentiful and hot and a varied selection.

Delicious food with kind and warm welcome and splendid service. I thoroughly enjoyed the special chow mein and black bean sauce.

sat the 22nd April 2023 six of us having set meal, nice food but not enough of it and very lacking in friendliness

The chicken and sweet corn soup should have have more crab and less corm.

First time visiting this restaurant having lived in the area for 20 years , suffice to say it may be another 20 before I return. Arrived and asked for drinks and our food order all OK so far , ordered feast b , starters of mixed hors d'oeuvres ,crispy duck, fillet beef and chilli prawns special fried rice and plain chow mein. The starters had very little flavour and was very dry due to no dipping sauces , the mains were ok, hot , the beef tender but served in huge pieces and not having a knife made eating it a challenge , but quite possibly the worst dish apart from the starter was the chow mein which had zero flavour not even a trace of msg. Not until we asked for the bill did our disinterested waiter approach us for the money , apart from more or less chucking the plates and cutlery on the table this was our only inter action with the staff apart from the initial order, granted it was busy initially but had quietened down by the time we left. A shame but is this what happens when you are the only Chinese restaurant in town? So many better takeaways in the area.

Great Chinese, Been using Hons for years both dining and take away, The food is great and ingredients good quality, The Best place for Chinese in the area by far.

Been here twice now the food is ok bill was a lot more than we expected, we were not sure if we'd been charged a service charge but the maths didn't add up set menu for 6 a handful of beers and a bottle of wine and the sums meant something was not quite right.

Yeah all good just wish that they would let everyone Finnish there meals before taking plates away it just makes you feel as if they want to get rid of of you it's just a pet hate

A really nice restaurant if you enjoy Chinese cooking but let down by lack of bar and serving staff, atmosphere was brilliant until the next table had a sissingling smokey dish that set my table companions coughing

My husband and my self have been coming to this restaurant for 8 years and have felt happy with the service and food. However, tonight was disappointing because of the waiters attitude. We asked for a knife as we were only given forks and spoons. The waiter was visible annoyed by this and asked us how many we want. We said two, which he bought over in a huff. Once we had eaten our starter and he came to collect plates we asked for some new cutlery for the main. He refused to take the knives as he said they don't have many of them and cant give us fresh ones and we must hold them in our hands till the main arrives. We were not even given a plate to place our dirty cutlery on while we waited for the main while holding the knife and fork. By this point, we were feeling disgruntled and were going off the idea of eating our next meal with the remains of our starter on the cutlery. I then asked for chop sticks instead which he bought over with another huff. For this reason we are giving our meal 2 stars as the food was delicious. But we wont be coming back for a while.

Terrible service. We waited 20 minutes for the Mix and Match menu to arrive, then we were left waiting over an hour for the starters to appear. In the end, we just got up and walked out.

My first takeaway meal from Hons. The best I’ve tasted. Staff are very friendly. This is easily the best place for a Chinese meal in the Medway towns.

Not all that good for the money

A really pleasant evening, staff very friendly and attentive, looking after us throughout the evening but not rushing us, food excellent, hot, tasty and plenty of it. A party of 12, we were looked after from entering the restaurant to leaving and the bill was quite reasonable as well.

It's OK. The food nice enough. A little short staffed I suspect as the service was a bit slow but an enjoyable evening out. Prices not bad £21.50 for one of their standard fixed menus. Beer (lager as typical of Chinese and Indian restaurants) priced as expected at about £3.80. All in under £30 for meal, pint and a coffee. Meter pay parking nearby, 4minute walk

I’m not going to lie, I had low expectations before I came here. I lived in Australia for a year and the Asian food there is exemplary so since then I’ve always had a bit of a problem with Chinese food in the UK. However, the quality and freshness of the food at this restaurant really impressed me and my family. The interior is pretty retro but not rundown, it was kind of endearing plus we really enjoyed sharing food over the lazy Susan in the middle of the tables! The quantity was generous, the prices are very reasonable and the service was brilliant. We will definitely be back, thanks for making my mum’s birthday so special!

First day back after lockdown. Excellent food and good portions as always. Staff wore masks the whole time for Covid.

I rang Hons coz was hoping to book a table for when lockdown finishes but was unable to as the restaurant are waiting to see what happens when lockdown finishes .We have only eaten there once before but was very impressed with the food and the service.

First visit with family, early evening, midweek, fairly busy even during Covid period. Prompt attention by pleasant and efficient staff, good sized portions hot and very tasty, parking is a problem, situated on the A2 in Rainham, small carpark behind soon full, no parking in side roads, blue badge holder so could park on double yellows nearby.

Really enjoyed our family evening out great food cooked fresh and really nice service, definitely would recommend this place.

The starters were ok but the mains was terrible. Tasteless and very gloopy Service was fine that’s why I have given 3 stars otherwise it would have been 2 Would not recommend and will not return

Had our first here after being recommended by a friend. The food was amazing, we had a variety of starters and mains as well as desserts and everything was delicious. Service was also good. Will defo be returning!

I remember coming here when it first opened and that has to be 30+ yrs ago. Back then the choice of a decent Chinese Restaurant wasn't really available. Going back today it was clearly still a favourite with the customers. Every table was full. The service was good and the food quality didn't disappoint. There are more choices now and other restaurants do have better quality than Hons but it's a solid 4-star restaurant and you won't be disappointed with this choice.

Excellent chinese restaurant. I dont understand how some people can say the service is quite slow. Everytime I've been to this restaurant I was acknowledge and served in less than 5 mins. And within 10 mins I was eating. Absolutely amazing food and service.
