Chicken balls too doughey,sweet n sour sauce not good ,special fried rice good however,ribs OK too.

Food is good staff are pleasant

used this establishment due to location, 2-3 times a month, order usually £16 and leave change in Jar. Ordered yesterday slightly different order £0.20p short, asked if i could pay next time based on loyal customer told NO!!! went for change, ordered plain noodles and extra curry sauce on top of normal order, drove home only to find them mixed and kids crying, called and asked for them to be sent out, then the fun began, told it was my fault, and i asked for them to be mixed despite asking for plain noodles and an extra curry sauce? refused to deliver correct order kept putting phone down when calling, told extremely busy, when i drove back (not to be defeated) reluctant to offer refund until notified of the law and that my colleague was food hygiene officer, finally handed money back, informed them business would be taken elsewhere and still had an attitude. So the business has lost £60-£80 a month over 0.20p and some noodles, its true what they say about cash and the Chinese. AVOID this place if you have any issues its your fault and your unlikely to get a refund, to top it all off the revised food order to usual was disgusting, beetle in the mushrooms (dead), Egg fried rice with Chicken had no egg in it? only just read the reviews from other today as always thought it was good, this was our only bad experience so far but im wondering how much we have looked past it with all our previous orders. Will not be returning. Could have been resolved properly like most UK business but this place are clearly tight and dont understand customer service. AVOID !!!

Food is nice,prawn crackers not so keen on. But dishes are well cooked.

Honestly best chinese I have had in a long time 100% recommend very well priced amazing service.

Got the Noodle Munchie Box and some BBQ Ribs. The Prawn Crackers were really stale. More than a few days old. Not even crunchy and tasted disgusting. They left a fould taste. The BBQ sauce on the ribs didn't have much flavour.The munchie box was decent to be honest however, didn't get much Salt and Pepper chicken maybe 5 small pieces.

Shocking service tonight! Ordered food which came to a certain price when ordering but they decided to add a service charge after it, I was paying cash and offered to pay rest by card or transfer them it but the guy grabbed the food away so I just told them it doesn’t matter and I’ll go to the other Chinese down the road which I did and got it £3 cheaper… they lost an order because of a 50p charge they didn’t tell about unless you check email, won’t be returning back to this place, yes it was 50p but could of let me off just this once but instead showed bad service so will stick to the other 2 Chinese takeaways in Thornaby…

Ordered a curry and chips with noodles was waiting for 2 HOURS only to get it freezing cold food curry like custard absolutely disgusting just chucked it in the bin its not like I don't know what hot and cold is but then to be contradicted by the delivery driver real shame its going down hill don't order as I only live round the corner but seems to much of a challenge for them to deliver hot food real shame

Got house special chow mein.was like a vegetarian or plain chow mein no meat or prawns in it 3 little shrimps meat content was non existence won't be using again not value for money I'm afraid

I literally live 5 minutes away but it took them over 1.5 hrs to deliver. I'll never order from here again.

Always found the food here to be ok. Can't comment on delivery as I always pick up in store. Usually wait 15 mins approx from placing the order to recieving the food. Personally, I'm not too keen on the curry sauce as it's a bit sweet but that is just my opinion. Staff are friendly, prices are about right.

Gorgeous food. Been a regular customer for years. I normally order the duck chow mein or duck in black bean sauce. Absolutely beautiful.

Had black Beatles in the food some alive some dead have photographs to prove it aboulutley disgusting can't believe I've eaten here before I confronted him about it he gave me a refund reluctantly and said sometimes it can happen and it's normal and they are no harm then tried to bribe me not to say anything with free food this place needs shut down

Usually a lot tastier and hotter food but was disappointed with grey, dry, cold meat on very fatty, grisstly spare ribs and a pretty tasteless chow mein. Disappointing.

Ordered two chicken dishes. The chicken was inedible, it was watery and rubbery and was thrown in the bin along with the rest of the meal. Not nice.

Decided to order from here for a family get together. Wasn’t anything amazing but a fairly decent Chinese. We found the meat in the dishes wasn’t very good but everything else in general was pretty tasty. The curry sauce here is very very nice.

Visiting from Scotland. Decided to get a takeaway so googled nearest options and came across hong Kong house.Very glad we picked this one as my wife is very fussy when it comes to chinese food has to the same as home.Everything was spot on lovely chips , curry great.Chicken chow mein to die for would defiantly recommend. I have had takeaway meals from Hong Kong House many times and never felt disappointed. The food is very good every time and at a reasonable price. Well worth a visit or having a delivery.

Had egg foo young and fried rice from here and I must say it’s the worst ever excuse for fried rice I’ve ever seen . The prawns seemed to have breadcrumbs on them a first for me . Needless to say I won’t be ordering again

Try the beef with chili, salt and pepper with fried rice ... add a portion of pineapple fritters......and you're in heaven. delightful

ive been going to this chinese for over 30yrs when the old owners used to have it ..the new owners who have been there ,i think about12yrs, are equaly as good, the food is gorgeous, but the only fault is their chips, they are scrappy and rock hard sometimes, they sometimes taste like there been left overs , years ago way back 30yrs this chinese done the best chips in thornaby..pity that you cant do them like they used to be done .. on the whole , great food ...

Great tasty food at affordable price

Ordered from here myself and 2 children. We went with the chicken curry. Egg fried rice. Chips. Beef chow mein and chips. After reading reviews and it being recommended we gave it a try. The chow mein was very good but that's about it. I expected this curry to be outstanding by the reviews but it was just a bit bland. The fried rice was nice. I found that I've had better from food palace. Maybe I was just expecting too much because of the reviews hence why I gave my usual Chinese a miss on this occasion to try Hong Kong house. Overall it's a good average takeaway

i have tried many chinese takeaways and this review isnt me having a go at hongkong house in particular however they are just as guilty of offering "westernised" chinese food which doesnt taste of much at all!! also there is a lack of veg in the dishes and a distinct lack of chinese spices. GIVE US CHINESE FOOD ITS WHAT WE WANT!!! and not the gloop u knock out

Excellent food good value love it

I do use here quiet a lot and dont tend to go to any other chinese takeways as I know the food here is good. The Curry sauce here is really tasty and better than some chinese takeaways in Thornaby.The only little niggle I would have is sometimes the chips dont seem to be fresh (scabby and not much potatoe in them) Delivery time is fast and never had a problem from ordering here.

Curry and chips isn't the most cultured of Chinese dishes (or maybe not Chinese at all), but god damn it's tasty!!
