Best Chinese in st Ives we have Chinese from here very often and they never fail to bring and delivery hot food everytime would highly recommend to anyone who wants a very nice tasting Chinese

We are holidaying in St Ives and decided to order from Hong Kong Kitchen as they delivered We ordered the meal for one with the mongolian chicken as the dish of choice plus crispy duck and all of the dishes were delicious! I would highly recommend the Mongolian chicken 😃 The delivery was also quick 😀😀

Had a takeaway from here, poor quality all tasted of vinegar (sweet chilli beef/noodles). Sadly doesn’t appear to be a decent Chinese in St Ives.

After a rainy day on our holiday we decided to treat ourselves to a Chinese in our cottage, wish we hadn’t bothered!!! Worst Chinese I’ve ever had!! The chicken chow mien was tasteless and slimy, the chicken curry tasted and looked like they had just warmed up some cheap chip shop curry packet and then chucked the chicken in, the 1/2 duck that we payed £21 for still had big bones in, they hadn’t even bothered shredding it too much. The sweet and sour sauce wasn’t sweet and sticky as I’m used to, it was watery and tasteless. I understand that in the height of summer they are probably over run by tourist like ourselves and standards slip but understand we are still paying customers and every customer should be catered to no different then the next, we have had some exquisite and extremely tasty food whilst visiting your town but I’m sorry you fall short of the very high standard your counterparts strive for on a daily basis.

This is the worst Chinese I have ever had. The food was positively disgusting. Sweet & Sour chicken was nothing like the Chinese takeaway in Cheltenham. The egg fried rice was awful and again was nothing like I’m used to. I’m surprised this takeaway is still trading. As soon as you walk in the lady behind the counter says ‘cash only. I would like the council to visit this establishment and check their hygiene rating. My advice don’t go.

Would not order again. Although the food arrived in super quick time and was hot 2 of the dishes were not good. Chow mein was more of gravy and hardly any crunchy bean sprouts. The soup was so thick and was horrible. The biggest off put was the delivery driver. Greasy filthy dirty hands. Delivery guy may have 2 jobs but if delivering food at least wash your filthy hands!!

We have been getting takeaways from here for years, it is some of the best takeaway food we have ever eaten. The menu for four people is real value for money.

We've used this takeaway for a few year now while staying in St Ives for Christmas. This year (and the last 2) we've been a 5 minute walk away. Service always quick and food always tasty. Great value - meal for one @ £13.50 and enough to share between the 2 of us with small appetites! See you next Christmas!

Never tried this place before but after 40years of eating Chinese meals I can honestly say this is the best iv ever had 👍

Tasteless noodles in gravy. No spice, no flavour. Battered satay chicken in watery gravy with mushrooms!!! Not a peanut in sight! Lacklustre sweet and no sour over cooked chicken balls. Need to up their game.. feel sorry for you if you cooked this but mate... it's not Chinese.

Such a great experience with my visit to this takeaway, being pleasant, fast and best of all is the great quality food i walked away with. absolutely delicious. so use to chicken balls from other chinese restaurants being super greasy and soggy. this isn’t the case with this place. highly HIGHLY recommend

So I had a scurry, it was nice. The building looked nice and how I would imagine a professionally world famous Hong Kong kitchen to look.

Literally the worst chinese I have ever had. The chips were dry and clearly been sat for hours. The crispy chilli beef sauce was a mix of water and vinegar. The curry was completely tasteless with raw onions. I wouldn't even give it a 1 star tbh absolutely shocking!!

Bland food. You would do just as well buying a packet meal from Lidl! Ours came with chips. Not sure how you mess up chips that much!!!

We tried for over an hour to place an order to be delivered to us. The line was either engaged or just rang & rang & then switched to an automatic message with no option to leave a message.We gave up in the end & ordered an Indian via Just Eat.I appreciate you are busy but we did expect to be answered for the amount of times we tried?

Looked at some old reviews and they seem to have turned things around cos this was a really nice Chinese, possibly one of the best I've had. They do take only cash but most Chinese takeaways are the same. Highly recommend it.

Random items in dishes, poor quality ingredients and poor taste. Teenage kids would not eat so their dishes were wasted, even the prawn crackers were tasteless and plastic. They only take cash as well which to me is wrong.

Only take cash ! Who “only takes cash” especially in these times. Weird. They tell you that at the end after taking your order.

Use this takeaway regularly. Always good food and prices. Love the mixed meat curry. Portions are also very good.definitely recommend

Called in takeaway. On arrival, was told 'cash only'. When I politely said it would have been useful to have been told when I called, the man snapped 'You didn't ask!'. A bit of courtesy wouldn't go amiss. Won't be returning

Ordered a decent selection of Chinese including, crispy duck, squid, noodles, king prawns, beef. All well packaged and freshly prepared. Free delivery and prawn crackers. Would definitely recommend.

Walked up there while staying in St Ives, food was very made very quickly only waiting a couple minutes. The food was all hot, fresh and quite tasty. Would go again.

We had food from here twice. The first time we phoned the order in and had it delivered. Unfortunately the driver could not find us, but he did phone us so my husband went out into the street to look for him. The food was ok, it filled a gap. The first time i can't say the food had much flavour, and the second time my meal seemed to be lacking ham.

I have a few meals from here in the past few stays in St Ives. I called in, placed my order and went for a quick pint nearby.The ‘Menu for one person’ - £11.50, was more than enough for two of us, we had the Beef Chow Mein as the main meal but found the beef a little chewy. Other than that the rest of the meal was good.

We have tried here three times whilst here in St Ives on Holiday,Chicken Curry,Mixed Meat Curry and Singapore Rice,all dishes were excellent and good value for the money.Service was very good and quick.No issues what so ever,Curry comes complete with Boiled Rice or Chips.would certainly come back,Excellent.

Ordered a takeaway (by phone) whilst on holiday in St Ives and paid for delivery also.Was informed that it was CASH ONLY !! (this should have rang alarm bells !!)It arrived promptly, but after (TRYING) to eat it, decided to give up and throw it in the bin. The four dishes were three of chicken an one beef (fried rice). What a waste of £22:50 !!! - The chicken was like hard rubber and the beef fried rice was like chewing an elastic band. If this wasn't bad enough the whole meal lacked ANY flavour or richness whatsoever - it was TERRIBLE - the WORST Chinese I've EVER had.I called into the takeaway the following day to complain and was met with an apologetic attitude from the (English) lady behind the counter who was trying to make an excuse by telling me that the kitchen staff are all Chinese and don't talk English - so what !!! The FOOD was still TERRIBLE. I felt that her apology was a bit false and in reality, they have had the money (CASH don't forget) - and couldn't really care less !! Perhaps another case of "rip the holidaymakers off" we are only after the cash - they wouldn't get away with it anywhere else.DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY THERE !! FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE !!

We used the delivery service twice while on holiday. The food was great really tasty. Best chicken cashew I’ve ever had. Delivery was quick and the delivery guys really polite. Fantastic takeaway which makes life easy and relaxing while on holiday.

We were having real problems finding a takeaway we liked in St Ives - we were going over to Hayle until we found this wonderful place. We've tried a couple of the soups now, and the sweet and sour pork and a couple of the chicken dishes and everything we have tried has been delicious and we could not fault any of it. If there is any wait here then I certainly feel it is worth it. Will definitely be re-ordering from them.

After reading some of the recent reviews was slightly apprehensive but after ordering without a hitch, having a really speedy delivery it was delicious, really well flavored and between the 4 of us there was nothing left!! We'll certainly use them again next time we visit

We were camping down in St ives and fancied a chinese takeaway one evening.

We decided to get a takeaway while stopping in st ives and couldn't fault the curries. All in all nice meal.

Chicken balls you could see actually looked like proper chicken cuts rather than processed rice was OK as were chips but the chicken chow mein oh dear epic fail was like worms in gravy we are used to a totally different tasting chicken chow mein fried in a wok with totally different sauce really was like no chow mein I've ever tasted.

This is a short walk from the pier where the Lifeboat Station is and a Walk down a narrow side street near to Barclays Bank.

Quick delivery usually and good service, lots of choices of food and delicious! Definitely favourite takeaway Chinese place.

St-Ives so deserves a decent chinese takeaway Seriously people would rather pay a little more for better quality ingredients. Everything tastes the same and is somehow slightly slippery, never had such a poor chow mein in all my life, containing weird veg, i think to pack it out so not so much meat. Chips are so bland, Rice is ok. Please please Hong Kong Kitchen, charge me a extra 50p - 75p per dish add some quality and be really proud of what you do. We will be very cautious next year when we visit. Or please travel out and see what other chinese takeaway do in other cities. As what you offer is not good. We had 9 different items between us, and when asking all the locals in the pubs they agree!!! The service is very good and the premises look clean

Took over an hour and a half to arrive of which it was cold, the chips were soggy from being in the bag too long, the pork was very chewy and fatty,and the rice was mushy again I think from being in the containers for too long.

Been in the castle listening to great band even all of a sudden we realised we hadn't eaten. Thinking everyone would be closed we opted to get a bag of crisp and junk from the shops, but even they were closed. As we turned to head home noticed the take away was still open. RESULT! That'll do, we weren't that hungry just wanted a light bite. We ordered noodles and bean sprouts, special fried rice, mini spring rolls and curry sauce. We took it back to our hotel and tucked in using the tea places from the coffee making facilities. It tasted lovely, full of flavour and quite large portions. The spring rolls were well packed with veg and not greasy at all. A great end to an evening out, it's not fine dining by any means but it was a laugh and well worth it.

Ended up having a takeaway after a mix up with a restaurant booking elsewhere. Food was really good and service was quick (we ordered in the shop - not sure about delivery)

Wish we'd taken the advice and not used them. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, special fried rice and noodles as a quick supper. It did not taste fresh at all. I actually only ate the rice as the chicken didn't taste right. There's much better food on offer in St Ives although it's not Chinese.

Not one of the three Chinese restaurants listed for St Ives had compelling reviews but this one tipped it with a menu that sounded similar to our favourite Chinese take-away in Greenwich. Unfortunately the similarity did not stretch to the flavouring of ingredients. The cashew nut dish was particularly disappointing - a mush of cheap veg distinguished by the odd crunch of a nut,,, that at least gave some relief from the stewed veg. All the dishes were vegetarian with tofu in chili dish being the closest we came to having "something" dominate the veg (in the absence of well judged seasoning). It almost delivered. It was, however, the blandest tofu I have ever eaten - only the sporadic hit of chili added any sense of flavour - I tried to ignore the sweet sauce. It was the closest the meal came to delivering something enjoyable. The family rating range was 1-3 the two being a generous interpretation.

This is by far the best Chinese Takeaway we have had in the UK!It arrived on time, piping hot, was very fresh tasting and full of flavour. Brilliant!

Visited this local Chinese takeaway last week and I was really impressed with my meal! My food was really tasty, piping hot and didn't wait long at all. I'll be revisiting soon and looking forward to talking with the friendly staff.

Don't bother with this rubbish place it's the biggest waste of money. God only knows what kind of meat they use or where it's from. Go to yeungs the only decent Chinese take away around st.ives.

The food was cheap but very greasy and tasteless. The meat was bland and too firm suggesting it wasn't cooked well enough.Even the prawn crackers tasted strange, almost like plastic. We threw more than half of uit away as it was so unappetising! Avoid this place! Wish we'd gone to Yeungs again, as that was lovely last time.

I don't want to slate this place too much as the staff were really nice, so I will just say that food wise, I won't be going back

Very fast piping hot delivery. We were advised 40 minutes, it was with us in 20. We chose from a more or less standard take away menu for 4 people. We should have ordered for 3. There was so much we couldn't finish it all. Overall a tasty meal apart from the Chicken Chow Mein which was a little bland.We won't hesitate to re-order on our next visit to St Ives

After trying to find some idea of a good Chinese Take Away Restaurant in St Ives in Cornwall, we decided to try the Hong Kong Kitchen, despite very inconsistent reviews. We need not have worried. The HKK provided a prompt and delicious take away, hot, freshly cooked and of excellent quality. The king prawns in particular were wonderful. Also a very good Chicken chow mein. Will be a favourite on our return to St Ives. Highly recommended!

The main positive was that delivery was quick and well worth the £1.50. It was ideal for our first night in St Ives.We had the sweet & sour chicken and shredded chilli beef and we found both meals to be bland. We also got the apple strudel dessert and didn't eat most of it as it was not nice.Not bad you want a quick takeaway, but don't expect wonders

We have just moved to st ives so decided to get a take away after all the hard days work we had done so we nipped into town to see what there was and I am pleased to say found the Hong Kong kitchen really lovely food and tasty to I had my usual king prawn curry fried rice and a pan cake roll plenty of prawns and good portion we found out they deliver so will definitely be ringing them soon brill

Decided to indulge in a takeaway whilst staying in Carbis Bay for a week. We always fancy takeaway food so we don;t have to cook but always find it a bit of a rigmarole ploughing through reviews and finding a decent one. Anyway, we had a wander into St Ives and picked up a few menus and decided on Hong Kong Kitchen.Firstly we were staying somewhere that you couldn't directly deliver to as there is a locked gate so I thought there might be an issue with that but no, the person on the telephone said that it was no problem at all and that the driver would call once in the car park. We half expected them to think we were having them on and not turn up but my phone rang way before we expected to say they were outside. The food itself was absolutely delicious, so much better than our favourite at home! We had mixed veg satay, which was lovely and creamy and not too hot which we sometimes find is a problem, egg fried rice and a mixed veg chow mein. Everything was cooked to perfection, really tasty and not greasy. The veg was also of a really good quality.We're back in the area next November so will most definitely be returning to you and can't wait!

Excellent food at a fair price, good portions, I didn't wake up in the night with a raging thirst as sometimes happens with Chinese. Take away was ready on time and served in a friendly manner.

Delicious Chinese takeaway - a late night order with low expectations and were very pleasantly surprised. Prawn crackers and fortune cookies were a lovely extra. Recommended.

Tried the set menu for one person .The dishes looked fine but unfortunately these I personally found tasteless and not very warm either .The service was good the take away arrived on good time pleasant enough delivery service Disapointed I only ate a portion if rice :( for a full set menu Maybe my view could be swayed by other dishes on the menu but not on this occasion I also asked for pork instead of chicken but still recieved chicken

My wife and I returned from a shopping trip to Truro the other night and as we were to tired to start cooking we decided to have a Chinese take away. I looked on line and chose the Hong Kong Kitchen, we decided to try the set menu for two, great choice the doorbell rang about 30 mins later £22 incl delivery fantastic value, we had a tub of Bang Bang Chicken to start followed by a large rice dish,pork,beef,chicken and a tub of sauce and a large bag of Prawn Crackers, delicious and more than enough for two. Looking forward to my next meal.

Ordered with an air of trepidation as most seaside takeaways disappoint. However this did not, ordered thai curry and chinese curry. Great food, great portion, great price, so good we ordered twice in our 4 nights. Took advantage of delivery for £1.50 which arrived in under 30 minutes as promised, would recommend! Wish our local chinese at home was as good and delivered!

The first night of our holiday is always ended with take away from here. Definitely the best in the area.Tony has been there for ever! Spot on food and excellent service. The one all the locals use and the best.

After ordering Chinese from here the other night, willing to give it a try and see if it's as nice as my personal favourite (The Bamboo House - which is opposite), I wish I never got Chinese from here. It was terrible. I had 1/4 of duck with pancakes, which was acceptable I guess.. However, some other food ordered for others was just not even close to acceptable. Other food which was ordered was sweet and sour pork (Hong Kong style). The meat was black and disgusting, as if it was really old. It was in edible based on aesthetics, and even when giving it a chance, it made you feel sick as it was so gross.Never again will I order Chinese from here. I will stick to my favourite, as stated above.
