Hong Kong Garden in Havering

We’ve been using this Chinese takeaway for many years. Called in twice recently after a couple of months absence. The food was bland. Slimy in appearance. Very unappetising.What a shame. Have they changed hands? Have they changed chefs? Disappointing is all I can say. Very sad day.

Have used them for years ... Always Fast Friendly and Helpful their food is delicious and at a good price ..

When me and my family ordered here we we’re absolutely amazed by the price we got so much food and we were willing to pay for a pricey takeaway so when we asked for the price at the man said how much we were shocked it was so cheap. The time scale was an hour to hour and a half which he told us before we ordered which was really great when we heard the price we didn’t expect to much of the food because how low it came to but when we tasted it not one of complain it was so nice and would never blink eye to go somewhere else really recommend trying crispy beef it was so much flavour

I'd previously stopped using this takeaway when they were based in their previous location (before they were moved to build the new library) as their food wasn't very good. I happened to be passing late on on a Sunday evening & hadn't eaten so thought I'd give them another chance. It wasn't great but not the worst I've had. Their vegetable chop suey had a very odd sweet flavour, tasted more like a dessert! The curry sauce was fine but then that's only a mix they use so they can't go far wrong. The chips were a bit on the dry side (warm ups?) but were fine with the curry sauce poured over them. Would probably use again if circumstances dictated it but would have something other than the chop suey.

This chinese takeaway has been here for years and the food is excellent and it offers a delivery service highly recommended

Worst Chinese take away. The Singapore rice was so orange and tasted like a whole jar of tomato and MSG was poured in. When I called to complain, the chef said the colour was due to the chilli paste used. Never again.

What a waste of money, the food is absolutely disgusting. Both the king prawns in batter, and chicken in batter looked like they had been re heated again and again, they were rock hard. The curry has a strange taste, not one item we ordered was any good.

My favourite Chinese. No one does beef chow min and chicken balls like this guys. Love it... and will always go back

Good food when the premises was in the Arcade..now moved to Hilldene Avenue, Struggerling to keep a Chef, now have one from Leicester, returned our order twice in one night, soup was disgusting, bitter and dark brown! Pancake Roll eneamic and soggy. Spare Ribs were small, meatless and Dehydrated. MANAGER IS SO RUDE, instead of trying to put things right and take on board what wrong, just exchanged the Soup and Pancake Rolls for exact identical fowl food. Best part Banned us from using them! As if!Gone right down hill to quality food before.

The food is always top quality here. We always choose this takeaway normally. Staff are great and deliveries are always on time. Chicken balls are really good here and not greasy at all. Well worth a try if you are in the area.

My wife and I both say it is the best Chinese takeaway we have ever had. We like Set Menu A, and duck in plumb sauce. The balls are also meatier than most.

Been here a few times now, lovely food and a great selection. Staff are lovely too. They always offer to deliver even though we live round the corner so we always collect.
