Beautiful local Chinese, fairly priced and food always roasting hot and on time!

We ordered takeaway. Delivery time was ok but the food was terrible. Chicken chow mein had absolutely no flavouring at all and only had about ten strips of chicken that were so white it obviously hadn’t been cooked with the noodles and looked like it had come straight out of a Tesco packet as it was just laying on top of the noodles. Very disappointed as the food had been good in the past

My whole order was freezing and tasteless

Our local Chinese which never disappoints. Fairly priced (taking into consideration the alternatives in the area) Consistent food in which different dishes taste as they should, as opposed to places where several dishes taste the same. Delivery times when ordering direct are reasonably estimated and always fall within the specified times given. Staff are always friendly and polite. I have had experiences where 3rd party delivery partners have shown poor service, but the restaurant has always stepped in and picked up the slack.

Ordered about £40 worth of food, and although the food arrived on time and was quite tasty I was shocked at the portion size, I’ve been coming here for years and never had anything like it, portion of chips about 15 chips not even half a bag, the smallest pot of seaweed in the world I could get my fingers around the whole pot, the hors d’oeuvres were all chucked in a paper bag on top of each other, and obviously you have stopped giving the free prawn crackers as there wasn’t any, will think twic

we used this Chinese as our normal one was shut, maybe a 1 off but was absolutely horrible, no flavour in hardly any of the dishes apart from 1 chicken dish that tasted of fish, so obviously cooked in the same oil/pan as some squid dish, or maybe out of date I'm sure I'll find out tomorrow. won't be using again.

Best Chinese in the area. Ordered a couple times when I’m in the area and has always impressed. My go-to Chinese here, always giving generous portion sizes with reasonable prices. Never have to wait long, very prompt. Can’t fault it.

We had take away beef chow main. The noodle's mixed the old and a fresh over cooked grease horrible never ever

Such a shame this used to be one of the best Chinese’s but food was salty and Luke warm…….chicken had a strange taste to it….all in all a waste of money

The worst service ever telling me I can’t order if I don’t come downstairs to pick up my order when I have a new born at home and other kids as I have ordered before from there this lady should fix her attitude if they want any customers that’s why is called delivering to the door not for me to come down to pick it up if I live in a flat and still didn’t take my order no more ordering from there from know on and fix ur attitude girl cause u won’t get customers like that should be thankful ur at least getting money and orders for u to get paid

Food arrived cold and un edible meat was realy dry and very salty

Not much flavour in the noodles and rice tasted a bit watered down but curry sauce and the chips were nice

Seriously unimpressed, curry was congealed like thick gravy, seemed like the whole order had just been warmed up and not cooked to order. Vegetable curry was mostly onions with one bit of broccoli.

There was a staple in the black bean sauce, not impressed!

All I could taste was Salt! Got chicken instead of prawn balls! Waste of money 🤬

The Fortune House was always our go-to chinese take-away for many years. Then it burnt down and we had to find another (The Great Wall, Gidea Park was similar taste wise). When it re-opened we went back and all was good in the world. However, the last two deliveries we had, the sweet and sour sauce was aweful! A sort of overpowering liquorice/aniseed (star anise?) flavour that ruined all the sweet and sour dishes and those that use that sauce as a base (Kung Po, Crispy Chillie Beef etc). Sorry, won't be coming back until that sauce is returned to it's original receipe.

The meat in all our dinner was dry and precooked looking which wasn’t pleasant wasn’t up to usual standards which was a disappointment

Unfortunately the food was warm, and the sauces tasted very fragrant, a bit like dish soap. Lots of the rice was left as the pork was so dry, lots of the food was put in the bin. Some chicken in the chicken balls was inedible, had a rubbery taste and some was slightly pink.

Food is lovely great quality. Polite delivery man. The crab claws were amazing.

No question it’s defiantly the best Chinese takeaway in the area, all of these bad reviews must have had a one off bad experience because trust me when I say it’s the best and I’m so fussy, I have tried all of the Chineses in the area and this beats them all hands down, everything is done fresh and with attention to detail and that’s so nice as a lot of places just chuck it all together, I’d say the prices are in line with others but they are not overpriced, the lady who answers the phone has got to be one of the most polite and helpful person ever, she’s so accommodating and understanding and this alone is great, all in all I’d give it 11 stars, I cannot fault it in anyway, keep up the amazing work guys and Thankyou !!

Turned up very early so was worried it wasn't fresh and I was right the chicken was so dry couldn't eat it. It had been cooked and refried. The chow mein didn't taste fresh bit egg fried rice was ok but it wasn't very warm either. This place has become very hit and miss sometimes it beautiful and other times not great. I don't normally like leaving reviews but I tried to ring and couldn't get through

I use this Chinese because they don’t cook in peanut oil but I’m disappointed. I asked for chicken and cashew with extra cashew I got 1 cashew in it……noodles were flavourless. Absolutely gutted was always my favourite Chinese

Wasn’t as good as it usually is. Had a bit of a weird taste to it and the show mien seemed like it had been reheated several times.

Delivered on time and was hot. But it was tasteless. It seemed as if the Beef cooked in black bean sauce was cooked in gravy. Even the prawn crackers tasted as if the oil was old and needed changing. Very disappointed and definitely will never use again

Food was the worst quality of all chineses we have had in the area in 8 years. Chips were clearly frozen chips and had been sat there for a long time- hard too. Chicken balls were awful- probably frozen again. Overcooked outside, yet not crispy atall, and watery and doughy inside. Kung po chicken flavour was poor, almost cheap artificial tasting. Didn’t enjoy one dish out of 5 dishes. So disappointed.

Food was awful. Ribs were all gristle. Prawn toasts taste of vinegar. Such a shame

Superb hot and tasty food, everything there - nothing missing, great portion sizes, very well packed, food is generally getting more expensive, but this was really good, not the first time, and another great service. Thank you.

I ordered my food at 5.50 I still haven't received it this is not good enough lost a customer. I phoned to be told it was leaving but had to go collier Row first no offer of coming to me first or discount they just don't seem to care about customers. If the food is cold or rubbish I will be getting a refund

First time I used this take away. And not returning. Soup was like water. Curry sauce was horrible. Nothing special about the special fried rice. All in all a big let down.

First time we have ordered from here. Will probably pick up next time, as some of the food had gone softed when it should of been crispy. I don't know what the bbq sauce was but stay clear smells of burnt wood. But on the whole good food.

The food was late, no communication, when I phoned they said 2 minutes, 10 minutes later it turned up, then the food was cold. Will never use again.

Passing here and thought ide try , waste of money , £25 in the bin , dryest ribs ever , claws was filth chowmein was not so special , actually filth , it wouldn't surprise me if this sort of place puts people in hospital it was filth , AVOID AVOID

I placed the order online and was advised would be here within 30-40 minutes. An hour later I called the restaurant and the food hadn’t even been cooked yet. Tried to cancel over the phone but was redirected to the app instead which is impossible to cancel an order through.

This place has gone down hill Soup crab meat sugar lumps and sweet Chop suey floating in water and dirty oil with it the tofu was tastless and watery sauce They used to be lovely I phoned and spoke to a lovely lady who asked him what could happen He responded one dish free if not happy I shouldn't waste my money and go elsewere Last time I ordered not us good but getting drastically worse don't waste your money I

I'm not sure that the beef was in oyster sauce. I order the same thing every time and usually enjoy it. Tonight the beef was spicy. I'm not keen on spicy food. The rest of the food was good. Just very let down with the 1 dish.

Liars, avoid at all cost, extremelly late with orders!

I ordered with this restaurant because they stated a ‘25-40 minute’ wait, which was quicker than all the other restaurants. I could have ordered with another place that offered free delivery but I opted to pay the £2 for this place because of the quicker delivery. As soon as I paid for it, it changed, and the delivery time was actually just over an hour. I don’t care about the £2 and 20 mins late isn’t the end of the world, but I resent the misleading and dishonest tactic to encourage people to order with them, and I will not be doing it again. It’s a shame as the food is pretty good. But anyone reading this just beware that you will probably be waiting longer than you think.

This is one of the best Chinese takeaways in Romford. You will have to order an hour before you’re hungry or when you’d like to sit down for a meal, as the delivery service does take up to 1 hour or just over. However, the quality and taste of the food is stunning!

Used this takeaway on numerous occasions been very happy with the service & the quality of the meal. However tonight's meal was very substandard & i was very disappointed with the majority of the meal.

Sweet and sour chicken was missing the sauce and the bbq sauce was way too salty with none of the nice bbq flavour you usually get. Sorry but I won’t go there again
