This is the first time using the Hong Kong Chef, we have travelled to other areas based on reviews. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. All dishes ordered were delicious. Special Chow mein, special fried rice, salt and pepper chicken, best sweet and sour chicken balls ever, chips (fantastic, like a chip shop) satay pork. Will 100% be going back.

i went there for food and a lady called jess was laughing at me me and gave me the wrong food on purpose because i was complaining and her friend started to give me dirty looks.The two young boys were telling her to stop.I really respect the boys, i definitely shall not be coming again due to the troubles i faced from the young lady.

Me and my family have been going here since it first opened and that’s over 30 years I've been going there. We usually love the chips they’re perfect usually but they were hard and cold. They’re clearly frozen chips now. My family looked forward to a big Christmas meal and spent a lot of money, we all hated the food especially the chips. Takeaway these days is so expensive and a real treat for us and it was such a waste. Won’t be going here again.

Ordered £70 worth of food for Christmas meal with family. We've been going to Hong Kong chef, Temple Cloud for years, when the original owners were there. Having Chinese most weeks. It ruined our Christmas celebration FROZEN CHIPS!! Hard and cold never going there again!!

I have never been here before and discovered after I ordered that it was cash only. With the benefit of hindsight I wish I hadn't had enough. The food was so poor it went in the food waste bin, an utter waste.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING SLOP😡😡waste of money!! Will NEVER visit here ever again!! Being a regular customer I’m not sure what happened but it was all inedible, it was just noodles and hardly anything else in the chowmein! And since when has soup been in a container and not a cup? There wasn’t any soup just sloppy broiled chicken that didn’t look to well!!! I’m still waiting for the manager to call me?? Is your phone not working? Such a waste of money 🤬 Don’t visit here if you’re looking for a nice decent takeaway!!!

The food tonight was absolutely disgusting. So we had king prawn with bamboo shoots, duck in plum sauce, and duck with pancakes. The duck was dry and hard, the cucumber and spring onion were all dry like they'd been prepped for at least a week. The duck in plum, well there was no plum just swimming in fat. The duck was way over cooked and had absolutely no flavour. If you want to spend £40 and only like the prawn crackers this is you're place.

Popped in for the first time on my way home from Bristol, ordered a chicken chow mein and curry sauce and it was delicious.

We have used this Chinese for the last 10 years, but since changing hands the food has gone downhill. The last three or four times that we have visited the food quality has gone downhill and feels like they are trying to use cheap meats especially the chicken.

The spring roles, egg fried rice is perfect. It also serves the best special chop suey in Somerset! We also live the Singapore chow mein.

I ordered the sweet and sour vegetables. The sauce was on spot. Regrettably, whilst I like a little bit of bite, the vegetables could have done with a little more cooking,

I am very disappointed by my first experience of Chinese takeaway in Bath. The food took an hour and a half to arrive and was cold. The food itself was very poor quality, the meat was dubious with no vegetables in any of the dishes and no sauce in the chow mein dish. I would have expected a lot more from a £30+ order for 2! I will not be using this takeaway again.

I ordered for a family of 5. I always like a chinese curry as does my son but now it seems we both get an onion curry with so much there is hardly any sauce. I like shrimp usually and there are quite a few but not enjoyable as lacking in sauce. My son has beef and there is very little. We literally removed quarters of onion which left very little else. Lots of mushrooms too which i like but not at the expense of the curry sauce. Chow mein was fairly good however quite oily as were chicken balls. Service is very fast however I have gone shortly before their closing time to find they are in fact shut. So if it is quiet they will close earlier than stated.

Always have a great meal from here would rather drive here than the 3 Chinese closest to home, would recommend.

It was our first time ordering from Hong Kong chef and it's safe to say we won't be going back to our old Chinese takeaway. The food was incredible, even the plain chow mein had so much flavour. The tofu is amazing, we had the satay tofu and crispy garlic tofu and it was absolutely delicious. The best tofu I've had!

Have been unable to order a take away from these people 3 times now each time they have refused my order and not provided an explanation - trip advisor didn’t post my last review as apparently you need first hand experience of their service in order to leave a review. Well trip advisor censorship people this is my first hand experience I have tried to order a take away 3 times and each time the order has been refused that is my service experience of this establishment and it’s a fair review of my experiences. I won’t be trying for a 4th time

I swear I have never tasted better Tofu from a Chinese takeaway and probably never will again <333 ILY Hong Kong Chef!

Just finished a long shift and was tired and decided to stop for alittle something.Never been here before.I had the Chicken satay.Wow what an amazing dish.I have never had anything as good as this.Juicy chicken in a Satay sauce with pieces of pineapple,onion and cucumber in.Totally delicious .Lots of sauce.This would go brilliantly well with boiled rice.I will be back.

Some very rude staff and not very authentic food make this a place to avoid.Its on the main road so gets passing trade.There are better Chinese near by.

Hong Kong chef is really impressive now! Went there years ago and nothing special but now really good menu and delicious food, can't wait to go back and try more dishes. Tofu dishes the best I've had from a takeaway. Highly recommended!

If you haven’t been here for a while I suggest you give it another go. It’s a massive improvement on what it was a year or two ago. We are always really impressed with the dishes that we get, the quality and quantity is excellent. They do some great new kimchi dishes as well, the kimchi fried rice is delicious!

This is our go to Chinese takeaway even though it is nearly ten miles from home and there are nearer places in Cheddar & Wells! Why? because it has very friendly staff, always cheerful and helpful. The food is always excellent, whatever we order, it's always hot, very very tasty and cooked to order. We have to stop ourselves having a takeaway or we would eat it far too often. We've ordered a range of chicken, duck and beef dishes from the menu for the meat eaters but it is the choice of Tofu dishes that sets this place apart for me. I have NEVER known anywhere that has such an amazing choice and it's not that slimey tofu with no flavour. Try the Satay or the salt & pepper tofu it's divine. Great for vegans and veggies.But whatever you do don't tell anyone about the special Salt & Pepper Chips - believe me they are out of this world the chef takes hours making the special spice mix and I swear it is addictive. It's amazing. We buy a large pack and re heat the left overs to eat with supper the next day - they are FANTASTIC and once you've tried them you will never go back to boring chips. It's by far the best chinese takeaway in the area. Don't believe the bad reviews - sabotage does happen on TA and I can assure you I don't work for this place, I just want credit where credit is due. Just don't eat all the S&P chips or tofu before I get there. Lol! Oh and it's fantastic value too!

Went here for the first time recently and was very disappointed!! Service from the lady was poor Prawn crackers tasted like they had been left out back for weeks!! Chips for anaemic!! Sweet and sour sauce was like perfume! Only good thing was the chow main and chicken balls!

Good range of Chinese take-away meals or traditional fish and chips. The fish and chips I bought were good sized portions, well cooked and well priced. Open most evenings.

Have a takeaway from here maybe once a month and never been disappointed :-) good chow mein and the special curry is yummy too !!

Nosotros lo probamos para llevar, nos encontrarlo difícil encontrar uno bueno en la zona en la que vivimos, y este es uno de los buenos.Llamé y ordenados y la persona que tomó mi pedido era amable y rápido de tomar mi pedido.Cuando llegué allí fue recibido por la misma operadora y todavía amable, y mi pedido en la escala temporal que me había regalado.La las brasas: era realmente agradable y uno de los mejores sitios de comida para llevar comida china que he tenido en mucho tiempo. Langostinos en salsa de alubias negras, arroz frito especial, carne desmenuzada y rollitos de primavera.Lo único que no me gustó fue que parecen añadir salsa dulce y agria a cada plato que tuvimos y no soy una gran amante de eso y eso fue lo único que estropeó para mí.Aún así utilizar para llevar y volveremos muy pronto.

Un amigo encontró este lugar cuando me quejado que no podía encontrar un Chino que no tofu. Hay unos 15 opciones de tofu en el menú aquí y un montón de opciones. Tenía dos llevar ahora. La primera para cuatro y, incluyendo todo tipo de platos. La segunda un pasado en coche por dos. En ambas ocasiones las raciones eran generosas, los sabores fabulosos y un gran servicio. Impresionados. No entregar pero nosotros vivimos demasiado lejos, de todos modos, pero no pasado en coche en el camino de vuelta de Bristol o Londres. Cerrado los martes??? Pero definitivamente vale la pena probarlo. No creo que te decepcionará.

Metimos en camino a Bristol. Lugar concurrido con un montón de personal. Las patatas fritas eran realmente Pena y la salsa curry sin cocer era tan lleno de vinagre que no era bueno.

Although this place is cheap I would recommend that it be avoided unless you are desperate for food. The place is dirty and damp and the food is of poor quality. It doesn't taste good at all.

Tenemos un llevar a este lugar cada par de meses y no han sido decepción. La orden siempre es procesada rápidamente y el personal es siempre amable y profesional. Las bolas de pollo no tienen grasa como en muchos otros lugares. Hay una buena selección de comida y a precios razonables. También recomendaría el Singapur Chow mein, casa especial arroz frito, pato asado estilo cantón, y Spring roll, de nuevo, no demasiado grasienta como otros lugares. Vale la pena visitarlo!
