Had a few orders from them and have always been happy with food ordered.

Always great food no matter what I choose

No chips turn up with order. Tried to call but could not get through. Ordered 2 platers and the portion size was small than normal. The duck was very dry. Very disappointed and not to normal standard

Food is always hot and nice and always either early or on time

Squid was rock hard. Everything very bland & tasteless. Food left on doorstep without knocking. All round poor quality for the price

Food arrived early, loved the fried rice and the sweet and sour chicken balls

Used to order from.here fairly regularly but it's gone downhill significantly in terms of quality, accuracy and service. One too many times forgetting items now as well. Will go elsewhere from now on.

My food hasnt arrived. The just eat app says enjoy your food but it hasnt arrived and you have taken full payment.

Good evening we’ve had a complaints from our housing association and neighbours as the behaviour of our driver last night was not acceptable even though we understand the grass is wet he left a noticeable groove in our neighbours grass and splattered mud all over the flagstones which we’ve had to spend an hour cleaning up I have taken photographic evidence due to my housing associations advice any repose on your behalf would be appreciated

Delivery stated as complete despite no courier even entering my street during the supposed delivery time. This has happened twice in 6 months.

Always good quality, tasty food. One of our preferred takeaways, wouldn't order Chinese from anywhere else. The chicken satay skewers are delicious!

the restaurant were rude when i phoned them about my order not being there, and i waited for 30 minutes outside the delivery address, during which time no one showed up and then they claimed that they’d tried to deliver for 30 minutes. they were then unhelpful when i asked when i could expect it to be redelivered after they’d marked it as delivered.

Curry portions getting smaller, apart from that all ok. The only issue I have is that if you ask for a hot curry you only get regular.Other Chinese do hot curries

The salt and pepper chicken and salt and pepper chips were too salty. Rest was fine.

Had an issue with the order, rang up to complain and my other half wasn't rude but was met with very poor service on the phone. The part of the order that was wrong was supposed to be replaced but never arrived despite being told it would. Incredibly disappointed by the attitude and blatant lie.

First time ordering from here what can I say is that the food was absolutely delicious have now found my favourite place will definitely be ordering from here from now on👍👍❤️🙂

When you're a foodie like me, you find great Chinese takeaways a rare thing. I tried all my 'bench mark' menu choices over several months and it passed with flying colours.

First time ordering from Hong Kong Chef, good quality food and portion sizes. -Definitely recommend and will be ordering from them again.

Ordered for a specific time because I was at work but it was sent straight away. The driver didn’t understand what I was trying to tell him so he left the food on our doorstep. He didn’t even ask for the delivery code. It was over half an hour before I got home and the food was freezing cold.

Used to live right near this takeaway and would regularly enjoy the food since moving away I missed the place as they previously didn’t deliver when I found out that they started to deliver I gave them another shot and I was not disappointed the food is tasty and orders have arrived quickly

Chicken balls were soggy and not crisp. The batter was too thick and not cooked enough for us.

Spare ribs tough. Seaweed too sweet. Hoisin sauce with duck fat too salty. Spoilt the dish. Finally, beef and black beans was ferociously hot due to excessive use of green chilli. Had the same dish 2x before and it was not like this. Very disappointed. Spent £36 wasted money.

The curry wasn’t edible, I could tell straight away as it smelt ‘off’ & the S&S prawn balls were ok but the sauce was far too vinegary !

Friday night... Movie and Chinese, really hit the spot with this place... Awesome food. Spicy like a dragon breathing fire in my mouth, it was made the way I love it! Recommended immensely!

Very poor food, the fried rice was stodgy and was more like boiled rice, I've seen more colour in a white washed wall, the sweet and sour chicken balls again was stodgy and the sweet and sour sauce had a really strange after taste. For the little I ate I wanted to throw it up, on the plus side the bin enjoyed it!

Worse Chinese I have ever had spare ribs were tough, soup was sloppy and the pancake roll wasn’t crispy

The meal was awful. We paid £40 for this and we were so looking forward to it. Crispy beef not cooked and soggy. Chicken balls under cooked and batter soggy. Really disappointing as we went for the highest ranking. Never again!

the spring rolls, vege pork and fried rice were nice. wasnt fussed about chowmein but it was ok. i wouldn't order the bbq sauce again, didn't enjoy it.

Absolutely awful food and followed with a disgusting attitude! I had a takeaway and it was so bad I took it back and they refused to refund me ..! Although they asked me to to take it back for a refund ! The place needs shutting down it's so filthy and poor ! Do not recommend this to anyone!

My experience with Hong Kong Chef in Southampton was incredibly disappointing. While staying at the Holiday Inn Express, I ordered food for delivery to my room via Uber Eats. However, when the delivery was delayed, I contacted the store and was informed by the driver that he had left the food at reception instead of bringing it to my room as requested. To add to the confusion, when I checked with the hotel reception, they mentioned that they had never received any delivery for me. Furthermore, the delivery driver claimed that he couldn't call me due to my phone supposedly not accepting international calls, which was puzzling since I had no issues placing the order in the first place. Even the hotel receptionist tried to intervene by calling the store on my behalf, but they were allegedly hung up on several times. This entire experience was frustrating and inconvenient, especially when I was expecting a hassle-free meal delivery to my room. I never received my order. I sincerely hope that Hong Kong Chef takes immediate steps to address these communication and delivery issues to provide a better service to their customers in the future.

AVOID!!!! Ordered via Uber eats said the food had been delivered when it hadn't Phoned shop and got a load of abuse and were not in the slightest bit interested just don't bother

Found this Chinese when the one we usually go to was shut and this was the first to open on a Sunday. We now have a new favourite place to order from. Ordered from here the last 3 Sundays and delivery has always been early and every dish has been piping hot and full of flavour. Salt and pepper chicken and the chicken and sweetcorn soup is highly recommended 😋

The food was low quality for how much it is , the sides were overcooked and hard.

ordered a chicken curry but was delivered a king prawn curry,,,I phoned the restaurant who re delivered the correct meal within 20 minutes,,,first class service

food was very good but nearly 2 hours from ordering to receiving was disgusting won't be ordering from there again

I clearly stated that they make all the meals extra extra spicy and they simply ignored me. I have ordered several times from this restaurant so this is really disappointing. This will be my last time ordering from them.

Can't get hold of them on the phone. Order not placed waited 2 and half hours then had to order again. Tried to get hold of them 30 times. When food finally arrived it was like warm. Pork balls were chewy and tasteless. The mini spring rolls were like eating pastry only. Extremely disappointed.

this was my regular chinese and i loved the food but the last 3 or times i have ordered something is always wrong. however when i last ordered yesterday i received lamb instead of duck. as someone who hasnt eaten lamb in over a decade i can Definitely tell the difference. i dont think i will order from here again. im not sure how exactly they thought they could get away with giving lamb out instead of duck when the 2 meats have 2 different textures, smell and taste.

I was happy with delivery and our order.

We moved house last week and ordered a takeaway to save cooking since everything was in boxes and celebrate the new house! the food was due to arrive at 8:55 it turned up at 10:15 which already is a ridiculous time to eat dinner. Everything was stone cold, looked like it had been reheated and left to go cold again. Would never order again

Food arrived after 2.5 hours with an initial ETA of 35 mins. Rang up and even though it said out for delivery and the time wasn't changing, they still hadn't cooked it. She said 15-20 mins more that was correct but by this point it was already 2 hours from booking. I had previously gone through just eat and they said a delivery of 9:25. Which wasn't right. When it finally arrived it was ok but nothing special. Especially as we were now eating at 10:15 which is too late.

I have enjoyed the meal so far. Order something and give it a go

First time ever that we received a wrong dish. Although the dish was wrong i had no option other than to eat it as i am type 1 diabetic and already took insulin before opening. I am sure this was a one off and will be ordering again. Everyone makes mistakes. But still my favorite Chinese
