La comida es excelente. Bien preparado.

We are in and around Brighton a lot we usually grab a sandwich from Asda but we decided to go to honeys, it was the best decision we ever made. Great food, better value and prices, Kim was so friendly she made us feel like family. I 100% advise everyone to try it's the best in and around Brighton.

Fantastic freshly cooked hot Breakfast Baguettes, served by a lovely lady that sings to you while you wait for her to cook your food. Few seats outside in the fresh air while you watch her dress her 2 mannequins' in different attire. The day before Pride she dressed as a traffic warden!! Lovely, friendly, happy staff first thing in the morning at she opens early.

Great little stop-off if you prefer your sandwiches freshly made rather than bought in and defrosted *ahem Asda * and always quick friendly service. Would recommend to anyone driving down from London heading in to Brighton and feeling peckish..don't waste your money anywhere else in the area!

Absolutely fantastic roast. I've eaten here a few times over the years and this visit was by far the best. I opted for the homemade vegan wellington, which came swamped in a sumptuous array of nutritious, culinary extras. Visually tantalising with gorgeous flavours that bewildered the taste buds. This was a Sunday lunch that could easily grace the tables of Brightons own "terre à terre", highly recommended for all foodies wanting a refreshing approach to an english staple, substantial, affordable and bloody delicious.

The pub must consider advertising it is under "New New Management" because as a local, I attributed being under "New" Management with the former regime who turned my favourite pub in Rottingdean into an absolute shambles after they took over. Only after chatting with an old timer at the Post Office, he told me the old regime left and there is a new landlord. Are you sure? Yes, he assured me I should give it a go again. The old chap was right. Standards now exist. The food doesn't taste like it was hauled out of the Iceland freezer, it now is tasty. Both the garden (which I always fancied on the rare mild day) and inside is great. The former regime had no clue what the wifi password was. Mobile coverage is nil because the useless council will not approve the building of a new mast after the one at White Horses was removed during the renovation. Anyway, the new owners seem to care about customer service and making it a decent experience out. It is probably too dog friendly, but compared to what the previous regime did to this pub, I will endure the hounds if it means enjoying this pub, now that it has been recalled to life. Well done, Black Horse. Giddyup!

Usual range of breakfast and British fare. All cooked well with indoor or outdoor seating. Beware the resident seagull who stares at your food through the window, he hasn't worked out how to open it yet, but give him time......

Unfortunately, our experience staying in the short-let Airbnb apartment above the Regency Tavern in 2021 was extremely poor. While technically claimed to be separate businesses, the crossover is hard to ignore; staff from the pub entered the flats (without masks during the then-COVID-19 pandemic), and we were asked to settle a payment using the pub’s payment terminal. Any issues about the Airbnb were reported to Lee Thomas Cockshott, who operates both the accommodation and the pub (the latter alongside his partner, Simon Mark Peter Ebers). The building itself was in a dreadful state of repair – rotting doors, exposed live wiring, and a general lack of hygiene throughout. The accommodation did not match the advertised amenities, such as the lack of hand soap in one apartment, which Cockshott blamed on COVID-related restrictions despite hand soap being present in the other apartment. The apartments were clearly not supplied nor cleaned to any reasonable standard. We initially agreed in principle to an offline contract to move to the apartment directly next to the one we originally booked. But that agreement was effectively breached by the failure to provide safe, functioning facilities and even a basic standard of customer service. The second apartment smelled strongly of damp, had poor window seals, and Cockshott continued to behave in a needlessly hostile and sarcastic manner. We left after one night, cutting our stay short because we no longer felt safe or comfortable – not just due to the poor condition of the flats, but also because of how we were treated by Cockshott. Following our early checkout, the majority of the text messages I received from Cockshott were aggressive, evasive, or threatening. These included threats of police reports, legal action, and personal attacks, simply because we insisted on paying for the one night we stayed in the adjacent apartment. While this review is primarily about the accommodation, it is impossible to separate the two when the Regency Tavern is used to manage, access, and process payments for the flats and said pub's staff not only tended to the apartment, but could also be heard advising Cockshott during one or more of his phone calls with us. In my opinion, because of the dangerous condition of the premises, the intimidation we experienced, and previous dishonesty about the connection between the pub and the Airbnb, Cockshott should not be allowed to continue operating tourist accommodations. It's just as well that Cockshott and Ebers' other business, Le Village, shut down in 2023 after council action. I strongly advise against staying here or doing business with Lee Cockshott or Simon Ebers in any capacity.
