Honey Bees Cakes in Hillingdon

My husband and I were celebrating our silver wedding with a cream tea at Honeybees. The atmosphere was calm, the staff friendly and helpful, the food was delicious. We couldn't manage it all so they allowed us to take our scones home. We will definitely be returning. Thank you.

Visited honey bees cakes a couple weeks ago with my friend and our babies. Disappointed that there is no baby changing unit in the toilet. The owner asked me to change my baby on the toilet floor or corridor floor when I approached her regarding baby changing facilities. The owner is rude and has no customer service skills. I can see from others reviews that they have experienced the same rude behaviour which is not acceptable. She needs to learn to be nice to her customers as I can see from other reviews that she has lost a number of local customers due to her poor service. I would not recommend this place. The cake loafs we had were dry. Much tastier cakes in other cafes/patisseries in Ruislip. The staff member who served us was very friendly and kind. It’s the owner that lets this place down and the dry cakes.

I had a cupcake and scones takeout for a function at my house. Everyone loved it. Brilliant product and first class service. Highly recommended

Unfortunately this place is getting worse. Honeybees seem to be the reliable local you could pop into. The owner has since obviously bitten more than she can chew. The lady behind the till has no clue what’s going on. She literally knows nothing. Nothing about the menu nothing about the services they can offer. I went in to order a mothers day gift for my wife and the lady at till didn’t have a clue what I was talking about. Eventually I managed to order it. The Chocolate covered strawberries was all moulded. Six wilting roses also accompanied it. It’s obvious she has become too busy and she cannot cope with the amount of work she’s getting in. On the day I went in I also purchased a red velvet cupcake which was so stale I have never experienced anything like it in my life. She needs to really take on criticism and work on it before her whole shop shuts down I personally would not be spending a penny of my money at this establishment any longer. I have given her many chances and this is the last straw. Good luck spending your money here I would advise you to look elsewhere.

I booked a reservation for a 9 person table to start off my sisters hen weekend. They took a £10 deposit that would be taken off the total bill after the meal. Reviews and Instagram looked decent so was hopeful of a good experience. I’ve never had such an upsetting experience as this was. When I’d booked over the phone, the server asked me about dietary requirements to help them prepare. I explained we would all be vegetarian and they confirmed they could accommodate. We arrived and placed our order and they very unwillingly accommodated for 1 modification to 1 order. 1.5 hours go by and some of us haven’t received anything whilst others had received a part of their order. Those who’d received some of their order were waiting for others to receive theirs before they ate ofc not knowing the wait would be so long that their food would turn cold&stale. New customers who’d come in after us received their food before us which I foundquestionable. After I’d realised it had been 1.5hrs, I called on the manager and we cancelled the other orders. I tried to calmly explain how our experience was hoping she’d listen and try to resolve it, she immediately went on to aggressively and rudely attack accusing me of being too complicated for requesting veg alternatives (we only modified 1 of the meals btw - which isn’t that much of a challenge usually in other cafes). She kept talking over me and became confrontational, patronising and rude, I had to repeatedly ask her if she could let me speak. This was very upsetting for all and is no way how to handle others, especially paying customers after you’ve made some obvious mistakes and spoilt someone’s experience and time. The manager took zero responsibility, no apologies genuinely made, she has claimed in a response to a review below that she reduced our bill when she only took off money for the items we didn’t even receive and had to cancel. Why on earth would someone pay for items they never received after 1.5 hrs of waiting - bizarre. She claimed she was busy with Mother’s Day preparations - I appreciate this but please don’t accept a booking if you can’t handle it and are expecting your customers to be grateful for a horrendous experience of partially delayed, partially never received food, and rude customer service. Instead of handling a complaint of customer dissatisfaction with grace and concern about their experience at YOUR cafe, the manager could have taken ownership, sincerely apologised, reduced the bill appropriately factoring in the waste of our time on what was meant to be a special weekend, the experience as a whole where we waited 1.5 hours a group waiting to eat, then the fact that we had to cancel and end up buying meal deals in tescos leaving us hungry and upset. Instead she rudely accused us of being the problem without listening to feedback of our experience, itemised what she was making us pay for (only subtracting the items we never even received off the bill) and had the audacity to keep my £10 deposit that I was assured would be taken off the bill or returned to me. I called the following morning to speak to her (manager/owner) about getting my £10 back. I spoke with 2 of her employees who were clearly being told not to pass the phone to the manager. She refused to speak to me and her employee apologised that I had ‘miscalculated’ the bill and that they had taken off the £10. I can assure you my maths is fine and that all of us listened to the manager itemise the bill verbally and her calculating it all up to £88. She mentioned no £10 reduction due to my pre paid deposit. The bill for the food was £88 and we paid £88 and so she’s essentially taken a £10 tip and dropped her honesty and integrity with it. *I’m going to list the itemised bill she verbally explained to us at the bottom for the owners view given she refuses to speak to me and resolve this secondary issue of theft at the end of this review. I’m genuinely appalled at her behaviour and the way she treated us. I hope that the next time a large group calls up this cafe for a booking that the owner a) considers whether she is capable at the time to provide a good service before accepting the reservation and potentially spoiling a good experience b) if things go wrong (which can absolutely happen), considers how she behaves and responds to her customers with respect, calmness and decency and c) realises the opportunity she has to gain 9 happy customers who could potentially return multiple times and recommend her business to a substantial social circle as opposed to 9 wholly dissatisfied and offended customers with poor reviews and recommendations to never visit her business which she now has received instead. *managers itemised bill she verbally explained to us: 2 x £18 savoury afternoon tea (fully received) 3 x £12 traditional afternoon tea (partially received and therefore deducted due to missing sandwiches and drinks) 1 x £5 or £6 scones (received fully) 1 x £10 Childs afternoon tea (fully received) This totals £88 and she went through this herself on the day. I hope the owner doesn’t scam anyone else for £10 or more in the future. Im incredibly disgusted by your response to all of this. The right thing to clearly do is to own up to your mistakes, make a genuine attempt at resolving your customers concerns and absolutely not to slyly take extra money off your customers and have your young inexperienced employees handle upset customers when they request to speak to the manager responsible for any decision in resolving mistakes. I have no hope that you’ll return my £10 given the way you’ve had your poor employees attend to my phone calls. I wanted to come to your cafe to speak with you about having my £10 returned to me at the very least but I worry you’ll only be confrontational, dismissive and patronising and luckily a £10 loss/theft can be negligible for me at this time. However, I hope you don’t do this to others in the future especially given the financial strains families are going through no w - £10 could mean a lot to someone else. A business can’t thrive with bad behaviour like this and you should deeply reflect on these issues raised immediately.

Visited today for Mother’s Day. Lovey tea room, beautiful space with a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Staff were so polite and very attentive without being over bearing. Tea and coffee was topped up when requested. Food was delicious- great selection of sandwiches (separate ham & jam for the children) the scones were fresh, warm and tasty. Our tummies were full but we still managed a couple of the small cakes, which again were so nice. What we couldn’t manage we were able to pack up and take away. A lovely afternoon in a lovely place. Would highly recommend.

Really disappointed. Expensive, tasteless and everything tasted of just bland cream. We had the Traditional Afternoon tea which was £18 each and additional cake slices. The scones were raw in the middle. Some were not edible. The sandwiches were just average. The cakes on the tier and the caramel pot were the same cream just churned out in different look. Poor effort at high prices. The separate cake slice was Victoria sponge but had no jam or a ‘lick of it’ if that,l. I had to ask for additional jam to spread on it and the buttercream tasted of nothing. At the end, we were not provided an itemised bill. Instead were verbally told how much to pay with additional service charge which was not fair or justified. It was as if a number was plucked from the sky! Felt mugged off and i didn’t have time to digest or query how much we were being charge. The manager was quite rude and pushy. The serving staff were nice, tried but felt they were inexperienced and didn’t want to be there. Sadly, will not be return or recommend.

I'm afraid I didn't get the opportunity to even order a birthday cake from here as the lady serving was so rude for some inexplicable reason! Went in to enquire about a cake and was told that it would be £25 for a fresh cream cake to serve around 4-6 people. Was fine with that and she quickly pushed forward without me having the time to respond. She added a birthday topper for £5 then after looking at the website, she said that the cake would actually be £30, as shown on their website. My only words to her after this was, 'Oh, someone has said they can do a cake for £28' and she became very rude and abruptly verbally shoved me out the door by closing her book and saying goodbye (as facetiously as possible). I said to her that she didn't have to be rude to a customer because they have mentioned another price. She replied 'So do you want the cake then?' Mmm, clearly not! The cakes here may be amazing but seriously, unless you want to be treated shabbily by the staff, avoid!

Ordered my daughter’s 18th birthday cake from here, chose the number cake that was red velvet. The cake was beautifully decorated and my daughter loved it. Thanks so much, will be back!!

My partner ordered a delivery afternoon tea for my birthday. The delivery was prompt and all the food came in recyclable packaging which I was pleased about. The sandwiches were delicious; egg mayo, cream cheese & cucumber and the mozzarella pesto. Scones were homemade and came with a generous portion of jam and clotted cream. The smll cakes and choc covered strawberries were superb. I'd definitely order again.

Wonderful afternoon tea delivered to us for a lock-down Father’s Day celebration. We loved everything - a good range of finger sandwiches, really delicious plain and fruit scones (with yummy jam and cream) and lovely cakes. Everything arrived beautiful parcelled in recyclable packaging. Excellent value for money - we will definitely be ordering again, and hopefully visiting once lockdown is lifted.

I ordered some cupcakes to be delivered. They came when I expected them and they were delicious! The cakes are massive and well worth the price. We had chocolate and vanilla and they didn’t last long🐷.Will definitely order again very soon 😀

We ordered approx. 130 Cup cakes from Honey Bee's for our wedding, we had a meeting with Melissa before hand for cake testing and to discuss our requirements. She catered for Gluten free which were clearly labelled on the day, we were able to hire cake stands from her and purchase cup cake cases for our guests to take away their cakes. Everyone commented on how tasty the cups cakes were, we would recommend Honey Bee's cup cakes and would definitely order from here again.

Thank you very much Melissa for the wonderful 60th Birthday Cake you made for my husband recently. In his youth he was a Northern Soul fan and you were able to make a replica of a cake from the picture I sent you, which he absolutely loved. Not only did the cake look outstanding, it also tasted delicious! Thank you once again for everything.

A group of 6 friends went for afternoon tea. This consisted of tea and 2 scones each. The menu stated the cost at being £5 per person and we were then charged £6.50 per person. When questioned they said it was service charges, which meant we paid an extra £1.50 per person. This is a 30% service charge PER PERSON. OUTRAGEOUS. Will not be going again.

Ordered 4 cakes for work event. They looked spectacular and tasted just as good with lots of fresh cream and fruit. They also turned them around with only 4 days notice. Would definitely recommend their cakes for an event.

We have visited this place a few times and absolutely loved it the first few times. However, we weren't as impressed recently. We went for our Son's 1st birthday and discovered that they no longer do a range of teas. The sandwiches weren't as good, and they put in a lot of chocolate covered strawberries as a dessert, which was quite cheeky considering the prices seem to have gone up! A bit of a shame, but hopefully they take the feedback into account.

I popped in with a friend and our daughters. We were really looking forward to our visit as seen others enjoying themselves there. We thought we would rather support a local company than a coffee shop chain.We were made to feel as though we were imposing on them, they weren't sure they had room, but clearly there was enough, we expected them to get more people arrive, they didn't. We weren't offered a menu, so we looked at the menus on the wall. Decided we wanted afternoon tea. When we were served we were advised that there was only a sharing platter of Eton mess and brownies or slices of cakes and drinks. When looking on the website there is an extensive menu that we were not aware of. Average food, plus milkshakes were poor. Very disappointed wouldn't recommend. Either you are a cake business or a tea shop. Other businesses manage to do so.

An old fashioned afternoon tea with fresh sandwiches, freshly made scones and cream cakes and best of all chocolate covered strawberries. Excellent food and really good value would highly recommend it to anyone of any age.

I recently ordered a Rose and Macaroon drip / pouring cake for my wife's birthday at very short notice (3 days) and was really happy to hear that they could accommodate the booking even though it was last minute. The cake looked amazing and tasted brilliant. One of the best cakes we have ever had...soft sponge, fresh filling and yummy icing. We all love it as did our party guests! Will order more cakes again soon!

We got a first Birthday cake and sweet treats made for my niece's first birthday party. Honeybees did a Fantastic job and the cake turned out even better than what we had imagined and explained! And above all it was delicious.

I feel kind of sad leaving a review like this because the place is clearly a family run business and I personally want to see places like these succeed instead of us all visiting the chain coffee and cake shops. However, the service here really put us off. There was a group of us who went one Thursday afternoon the place was empty and yet they just seemed irritated to have customers maybe because we were a bit of a 'Mum brigade' each of us with our baby. Not sure really what the issue was the staff just seemed a bit fed up, the coffee and food was all fine. We all noticed the service and it let the place down. Perhaps we might return at some point and maybe we will have a better experience next time everyone has off days!

Went here today for lunch. Quality of my wife's and kids sandwiches are fine and what good expect in a bakery. Unfortunately I found hair in my sandwich. Standards in the kitchen not right, no hair nets so not really surprised. The owner tried to cover this up and her apology was also non existent. Customer service below par.

Hired this venue for my baby shower; great value for money. Bring your own bottle included in hire price. The afternoon tea was very tasty and filling and accommodated to different tastes; gluten free and vegetarians. All 24 ladies left happy. Definitely recommend to others.

Después de leer las críticas en tripadvisor, estaba realmente emocionada de ir y comprar varios cupones para considerado dar como regalos. Les llamé antes de comprar el cupón groupon para verificar si había cualquier cargos ocultos y preguntamos si podían hacer un té de la tarde comida vegetariana y me dijeron que no sería problema, me pidieron que llame de nuevo con el código. Me llamó unos días más tarde y nos dio la clave y me confirmó que no había cargos adicionales, etc., y que podrían servir para comer verduras. En el día de la reserva recibí una llamada para confirmar mis opciones de sandwich que incluía carne. Me explicó que había reservado para vegetarianos y me dijeron que no sería un cargo para intercambiar sándwiches incluso si quería otra sandwich de lo ya hecho. Bought my elderly parents an afternoon tea gift voucher for Xmas. Visiting them from Leeds this weekend and asked if they had used it. Unfortunately the voucher expired 10 days ago and we were clearly told by the staff that basically we had missed the boat and the voucher could not be honoured. I accept the law is probably on their side, but I consider their attitude very poor customer service and bad business. Hence this review!!!!! We bought voucher on the strength of the good reviews, our parents are long standing active members of the community and I'm sure they would have recommended this establishment if they had a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, we have all lost out.

3 of us have just had a beautiful afternoon tea at honey bee's. The sandwich selection was very tasty and very fresh, the scones were lovely, warm and light. This was a little treat for our elderly mum and we all really enjoyed it. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The service was brilliant and refill tea and coffees much appreciated. A decent cup of coffee and a delicious piece of cake. what more could you ask for except very friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. This little jewel in Ruislip is well worth a visit to relax and refresh. Food is all very fresh and the cream cakes are superb. I have joined their loyalty scheme and can't wait to go back.

Bought a chocolate birthday cake and asked if it could be made either on the day but was told it had to be made the day before. The cake unfortunately was very very dry inside and the chocolate was very dark and rich I did state milk chocolate, no one liked it. The decoration was OK and their cup cakes are quite nice. I took the cake back and was given half the money back but I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend them to anyone or buy a cake from them again. Cake should be moist and fresh.

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with my daughter. Pleasant surroundings, fabulous chandelier, pretty decor made us feel we were in a tea house ..Good variety of sandwiches, light warmed scones with a generous helping of clotted cream an jam, melt in your mouth meringues , dainty eclairs were our favourites. I even received a free gift of a heart cookie. Friendly service and good value . I will definitely be going back there again.

went here on valentines day with my husband and 2 year old, i fell in love with the shop and all its fixtures and fittings, the staff were really friendly and so happy.i had the ferro milkshake and it is to die for! one of the best ive ever had! we had a full on afternoon tea with sandwiches and cakes and they provided a mini one from my daughter she enjoyed tasting everything and was excited. i definitely recommend this place we were so full we didnt eat again the whole day!

Went once before and the service was awful, I thought I'll try again as my girls really wanted to go and once again the service was terrible. We waited about 10 minutes and still wasn't ask what we would like. They were to busy picking up the phone and organising a party to ask for out order. My children were very disappointed as this is the second time this has happened. We will not be visiting again

The best local cakes shop. It's delicious. A bit over price but worth it. The owner was lovely and friendly. I'm going again in a few weeks time. Recommend!!!

I have used Honey Bees Cakes for the 2nd year running for a corporate event. The service from the beginning to the end was nothing less than 5 star. The cakes were delivered to the offices in a prompt timely manner. The cupcakes we ordered were not your ordinary flavours but something with a twist. I would use Honey Bee's Service again as they understand my needs and delivered everything and more. We have already requested them for 2016!

Our group of hens had a fantastic time at honey bees cakes. The place is cute and cosy, the staff are fantastic, so friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome. The food...out of this world!! All made fresh and the scones still warm - delicious! We had a lovely time and will definitely be back soon x

I visited with a friend who recommended it for a coffee and cake. I liked the decor and the atmosphere. We had a victoria sponge which had just been made, it was really good. The staff were very friendly. I will visit again.

Had my mums birthday cake from here was beautifully decorated and tasted delicious. Offered me a discount with my residents card very helpful and friendly staff a joy in ruislip manor at our doorstep. Will definitely be back.

After reading the reviews on here, I took my 80 year old mum and two young daughters for afternoon tea. When we arrived there were some children decorating cupcakes and they were all having a good time. We were seated and had a deluxe cream tea which consisted of cucumber sandwiches and salmon & cream cheese sandwiches, and freshly made warm scones with jam and clotted cream and a huge pot of tea. My children had chocolate spread and egg sandwiches. The owner (Melissa) was making cakes to order but was happy to come and chat and showed us photos of the cakes she makes. I cannot fault the service at all. The food was good and we were all full up. My parents are going back for their anniversary at the weekend as my mum loved it. Go and enjoy, you wont be disappointed

Myself and a friend just made an impromptu visit to Honey Bee's as I'm currently looking for a venue to hire for a baby shower and can honestly say I was totally taken aback and shocked by the welcome we received.... no hello or welcome just have you booked with attitude? We were made to feel like we were a burden for even considering to visit for tea and there was no one else in the shop, empty tables all around. We were eventually told to "just sit there" but we felt so unwelcome that we got straight up and walked out. I certainly won't be visiting again and I will not be considering this for private hire either! Totally disappointed..

Cakes were gorgeous although my initial thought was they were a bit pricey, but worth it. Service wasn't brilliant but I think I caught them on a bad day. However I would definitely go back as it's much nice than the chain coffee shops.

My daughter and I went for afternoon tea for her birthday (the staff were not aware it was her birthday). As we arrived she was so excited seeing the beautifully decorated shop. We were greeted warmly by the staff and they really engaged in conversation with my four year old, making her feel special on her big day. The tea arrived, all the staff came out singing happy birthday and had made an extra little cake with a candle on it especially for her! They were very thoughtful. I would highly recommend Honey Bees, reasonably priced, delicious tea and cakes (generous portions) as well as welcoming and friendly.

Took my Auntie , Mum and Cousin for afternoon tea. being a Thursday afternoon the cafe was not busy which was a bonus. Had a lovely table by the window. Nothing was rushed which was great as we had a good couple of hours in there leisurely eating our way through the sandwiches, cakes and scones.Plenty of options to drink, include decaffeinated tea!Took our own bottle of bubbly with us and was only charged a small corkage fee of £3.Would definitely recommend for a relaxed, good value afternoon tea.Thank you Honey Bees

This review is long overdue. I am a regular at Honey Bees Cake Shop and have nothing but praises for Melissa and her team. The shop itself is decorated beautifully and is always pristine. Where to start with the menu... A massive selection of cupcakes in every flavour available, always fresh, moist and delicious. I've ordered several occasion cakes from Melissa, the latest been a character cake for my daughters birthday. The love and care which go's into every cake is evident and the speed at which she has been able to deliver my short notice orders is remarkable. I've also ordered cake pops for party favours and having sampled 1 (or maybe 2) before handing out, again they are delicious. I usually finish off each visit with a refreshing fruit smoothie. All in all, this shop is a very welcome addition to the area. Next on my list is afternoon tea! Thanks again Melissa!!

Great customer service I was a little unsure about the design and size of the cake but was given good advice I was quoted a great price in fact it was £60 cheaper than another company I was initially going to go with. I purchased a groupon voucher for Afternoon Tea for 2, and my friend and I decided to go on my birthday. We booked a slot at 1.30pm, but arrived early and were made to feel very welcome. Having picked a lovely table by the window, Melissa introduced herself and advised us what was on offer with the voucher. We had taken advantage of the £3 corkage and brought a bottle of Cava, as it was a special occasion, being my birthday, so Melissa told us to let her know when we were ready for our tea to drink, once we had got through the bubbly first. My friend and I hadn't caught up in ages so we were taking our time and enjoying the afternoon, and we were never rushed or hurried along. The food was a lot in quantity, and we actually couldn't finish it all, but Melissa very kindly provided a takeaway box for us to take away what was left. The sandwiches were very tasty, more than enough in quantity. We had salmon and cream cheese, cheese and pickly, of course the requisitie cucumber sandwiches as well as some egg mayonnaise rolls. Then there was at least 6 cakes and sweet deserts as well as 2 cream tea scones as well. We asked for extra clotted cream and were provided it immediately with no fuss. You get a choice of about 6 types of tea bag - my friend and I are boring and stuck to the traditional English breakfast. Overall it was amazing value for money under the Groupon deal, but would also be a great offer if you paid the full price. Equivalent teas in the west end cost more than 2-3 times as much. It was a lovely way to spend the afternoon, and is a great place to catch up with friends or even to take your mum for an afternoon treat. The place has been done up very nicely, and I think it brings a little bit of class to Ruislip Manor. I'll definitely take my mum there for afternoon tea one day, and I'm looking forward to visiting again.

We came to this coffee shop for an afternoon tea purchased through groupon.We were allocated a time slot, that made us feel a bit pressed for time. The was no flexibility with regards to different choice of hot drinks. Cakes tasted lovely, sandwiches on the other hand were average especially the cucumber sandwich (that was in fact cucumber between 2 pieces of bread! No cream cheese but butter, but we were 'educated' by the owners, that that was a traditional British sandwich).Decor was sweet, ambience slightly stressful, as it seems there were many bookings for the day, perhaps too many, to accommodate everyone. Service lacking personal touch.

I tried their rum cake, was disappointed it repeated on me and cost £3 for the smallest slice. Cupcakes were dry too.Have heard good things about the afternoon tea so perhaps will try that.Good to see it has had a makeover, in place of the awful sight it used to be.

Honey Bees Cakes recently made a beautiful cake for my husband's 90th birthday.It was a beautiful rich iced fruit cake (special recipe with rum!) and had his picture on the front printed with edible ink!It was such a help to me that Marlene and Melissa took charge of this project so efficiently.Mt husband Fred was delighted with the cake and there is still some left! This 'cafe' is an asset to Ruislip. The place is very clean and welcoming. The ladies who run it are welcoming and friendly. The scones, cupcakes and the Jamaican rum cake are delicious as is the coffee served. There are also cakes made for all celebrations and having seen some they are great. Also there is the chance to buy accessories for doing your own cake decorating, nothing is too much trouble. Friends and I are looking forward to going here for afternoon tea and having seen others having this, can't wait.May this business continue to be as successful as it is today.

I ordered a cake for my 2year old's birthday. Despite me ordering at short notice the cake was exactly what I envisaged... a pretty Minnie Mouse cake with all the trimmings. Not only that I was sent a photograph before I collected my order. On collection, the restaurant was busy however the staff were incredibly efficient and friendly. The place has a lovely warm atmosphere.The cake.... what can I say, not just a visual masterpiece but it tasted absolutely divine. The entire cake was devoured by my guests in minutes!!!! I'll definitely be back for afternoon tea and another order of cakes. Honestly people it's well worth a visit to the best tea house/cake shop in West London!!!

I bought a Groupon voucher for an Afternoon Tea for Two for my friend for her birthday. (£14 for two people)We arrived and got shown our reserved seats straight away. Shortly afterwards followed some tea (we had a choice of a selection of teas beforehand!) and then out came the cake stand. There were a selection of finger sandwiches - cheese & chive, cucumber and salmon & cream cheese, mini scones with jam and cream and a selection of mini cakes including a trifle, cupcake, meringue and some other cute little pastry cakes. I have uploaded a photo :) For both of us, this was most definitely enough! I would say it was an appropriate size and we had a really nice afternoon - I did also come away with a few cupcakes to take home which I bought at the till. They weren't for me of course, i was too full! It is quite small inside and is decorated with cute pink and white polkadots and stripes! It was quite busy when we arrived but that didn't affect our afternoon at all. The staff were friendly and made you feel very welcome. I would highly recommend an afternoon tea at Honey Bees Cakes! Had a really nice time and would love to return!

I visited here the 11th of March with my sister in law and mother in law for afternoon tea. It was an early Mother's day treat for my mother in law. The first thing she said when we walked in was what a lovely smell of baking in here. It is very pink inside with pink oil cloth on the tables.Cakes are available to buy to take away everyday.We were asked what tea we would like, there is quite a lot of choice and they do redbush tea as well We then had a selection of finger sandwiches which were delicious, scones, chocolate mousse in a cup, mini trifle, lemon posset,mini chocolate tarts, mini meringues and a coffee cupcakes. It was all delightful and we all enjoyed it. Mother in law was really tucking in!It is not in the prettiest of places, my sister in law remarked how even better it would be with a good view. You cannot have everything and every tea room cannot be in a pretty village. Even though I agree I think the inside makes up for the outside and hope to make a return visit. Service we found was a little slow considering it was not their busiest day. While this was not a problem for us as the service was polite and helpful and we had the time to enjoy it and was relaxing. On one of their busier days it may be a problem.

We turned up at Honey Bees Cakesfor afternoon tea having purchased a groupon deal. It was a bit busy when we got there and initially I was apprehensive as to whether the service would be good but we were completely put at ease when shown to our table. The girls were all so lovely and accommodating. We were given such a lovely spacious table. Very nice atmosphere and the setting was just so pretty! The cakes were truly delightful and the English tea came in beautiful painted China teapots. Overall we had a lovely time and hope to come back to honeybees soon!

On arrival, there was about 15 people queing for a seat as they had obviously overbooked the amount of parties to seats. Luckily my friend had got there early and was crammed in a corner. We were approached twice in about a minute of being seated for our tea order and our afternoon tea came out before I could take my coat off. The sandwiches and cakes were really nice actually. We weren't asked if we wanted any more drinks over the time we were there and were constantly being watched by poor hungry people queing for a table. Despite still having our cakes to go, staff came over and said they needed the table and we only had an hour slot (news to me). They then started to clear away our teacups and plates, although clearly we still had about 5 cakes to eat! We sat eating them as fast as we could, but when they took the last plates from the table whilst I was still eating, i felt we better go. It felt really rushed, like we weren't allowed time to relax and have a chat and they had obviously tried to fit as many groupon vouchers into one afternoon as possible, without thinking that people wanted to enjoy the experience and probably were there for an occasion or treat, and didn't want to be watched by poor people who couldn't be seated or rushed by staff whilst still eating. The cakes are great, the service very poor. The staff even had a grumble on their Facebook page about some who complained about service, despite paying 'a pittance for a groupon'. It's still money and surely the point is to drum up local business? Shows their attitude really....

I too had a so called discounted Groupon voucher. This was a birthday treat for my mum and my friend and also my daughter came as well. We got a nice cup of tea. The whole tea arrived for the 4 of us on one cake stand that's how small it was. We got each about half a sandwich ( £1.00 surcharge for smoked salmon) which was like child size. A scone about the size of the inside of a ring donut and a biscuit which you could buy the whole bag in liddls for £1.00. I was really upset for the price and I would have no way paid the full price for what we had.

The decor is lovely and very homely. The food is all fresh and handmade and tastes lovely! The service is great and because it isn't a chain/franchise you have better relationship with regards to customer and waitress

We had a discounted Groupon voucher for a cream tea for four people priced at £17 and reserved a table on the telephone, prior to visiting. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were asked what sandwiches we would like, with a choice of egg and cress, cheese and chive and cucumber. We were given a nice choice of teas, which arrived quickly. The cake stand had two quarters of a sandwich per person, a mini buttered scone with jam and cream per person and a mini biscuit each. The shop was spotlessly clean and decorated in a pretty pink and white theme. The atmosphere was nice, with music playing in the background. Very nice for tea and a light snack.

Had an amazing Valentine's afternoon tea at Honey bees cakes, lovely sandwiches,the scones were to die for and the red velvet cup cake was out of this world, would recommend this shop to anyone, I will definitely be going back. Well done Melissa and Marlene for all your hard work xxx

This is my first time to write the review. Me and my wife enjoyed scones in here. Fresh from the oven, even we have it for take away. The owner was lovely and friendly. Nice to have cake shop just round the corner.

6 of us had afternoon yesterday at Honey Bees. The food was fresh and delicious, lovely English Breakfast tea and good service considering a full shop. You can also buy cakes to take away at a very good price. Highly Recommend you visit.

After finding this little café through groupon, we had afternoon tea here £26 for 4 people (cracking deal!).There was a little mix up with our booking as although we originally booked for 12.30, we were called last night and asked if we could move to 3.20, unfortunately this was too late for us so we requested an earlier booking at 2.15 which was agreed. When we arrived at 2.15 it seems we were booked in for 3.20. However after a quick chat and a mini shuffle around they were able to seat everyone.The afternoon tea was amazing. Loads of little treats such as Chocolate mousse, lemon posset, meringue, mini trifle, cupcake, mini scones along with your typical smoked salmon, cucumber and cheese/chive sandwiches.Staff were always smiling and lovely.Very busy little café! Can fit approx. 20 customers and when full can be a little loud but apart from this was a nice experience.

I was recommended this amazing cake shop through a friend. The staff are lovely, the cakes are delicious (best cupcakes ive had ) and It was child friendly which was perfect for me and my 6 year old daughter. The cake shop is beautifully designed and well laid out. With seating areas, it made it the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon with my little girl. I recommend this place to everyone I meet who wants to have a nice afternoon in a elegant, relaxed cake shop which sells the most amazing cakes. The best thing is, you do not need to travel into London to have this experience. Thank you so much and will be back very soon xxxx

Melissa baked and decorated an amazing nursery rhyme book for my daughter - it looked fab and tasted great with 3 layers. The edible pages made the cake look like a real children's book

Found a groupon voucher for tea for two. Me and mum came her for afternoon tea and cake. It was the most amazing little experience. The staff are lovely and friendly. The cakes and sandwiches were incredible. The chocolate moose was heaven in a cup. Can't wait to come back. Thank you!
