Honest Burgers Reading in Reading

Honest burger is one of my favourite places to eat out in reading, the food is always delicious and leaves you full and satisfied with great value for price. I would recommend the buffalo chicken burger with the rosemary chips as it’s my favourite. I also enjoy how there are new specials every so often in case you want to try something new.

PLEASE READ - I am a regular with Honest Burger and love the place for its food and exceptional service however I placed a collection order and arrived within 15minutes of ordering and had the Honest Burger, Onion Rings and chicken tenders - the tenders were dry, the chips didn’t appear fresh (like they’d been sitting a while) and no gravy available to compliment the feast - now I’m really not one for complaining especially when I enjoy the place but come on Honest Burger Reading get back to usual standards

The Reading branch quality is going down. The chicken burger was not up to the standards

Great food and service, the space feels a little cramped for bigger groups

Affordable, good presentation. The fresh coleslaw was vibrant in colour and taste. The onion rings were done in house, fresh and the herbs in the batter was a nice touch. The beef was seasoned well, I can only speak for the smashed burger, which was accompanied with a nice gherkin relish and butter mayonnaise (available to have on the side). Overall good experience, they also offer feedback and the chance to enter a £50 voucher draw. Immediately got an email with £5 off the next visit. Appeals to students well.

Came here for a work party and was disappointed. Large groups are difficult to handle for any restaurant but they did themselves no favours in organisation, or service during the meal. They'd come to each table and ask a person if they'd like another drink or if food was okay, then ignore the rest of the table and leave. Meaning large groups of us had to get up and go to the bar, which was unmanned. There was also a 10% cover charge on all drinks ordered at the bar which was undisclosed, only noticed when the price charged was different from the menu. Normally I'd expect this when billing large groups, but since I had to walk over to the bar myself, and take the drink back to my own table I do wonder what the 10% was even for? Food was slow to come out, again you expect this for a large group, but it was slow coming out in different stages. People had finished their mains before others had even gotten their first starter - on the same tables. Some orders were also totally forgotten. It was clear the staff were not prepared, but all the while happy to take money off the top for the "service".

Ordered a normal beef burger without bacon and got given a burger with bacon. As someone who can’t eat bacon this was unacceptable. Went back in and staff was rude and didn’t care and faked giving me a refund on my food. This was on the 16th of January. Will be escalating this to head office if nothing is done

Terrible service.. I requested a lactose free burger due to my intolerance. They let me know half way through eating my burger that it was in fact real cheese and brought me a replacement. They weren’t apologetic and didn’t even offer to take my meal off the bill. I would not recommend to anyone.

Eaten twice in honest, once in London now Reading. Reading staff really friendly, especially a male gentleman tonight, burgers amazing fries lovely just could do with being hotter maybe just me I like my food hot. But still 5 stars.

I had the pleasure of dining at honest burger recently, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. What truly set this restaurant apart was the impeccable service. A special mention to Huw, the restaurant manager, who ensured every detail was taken care of. Huw’s warm personality and thoughtful recommendations heightened my experience. The food was nothing short of outstanding. I opted for the Vegan burger alongside an alcohol free Lucky Saint adding another layer of enjoyment to my meal. If you’re looking for a great dining experience, I highly recommend. With Huw’s excellent management and the restaurant’s stellar offerings, this place is a true gem.

The best Honest burger! Great service, great food and great staff! I wanted to give a big shout out to Ferrin who is a credit to the restaurant. Knows us as regulars now and always has a lovely chat with us! We will be back soon😃

Great place with a nice atmosphere. I was welcomed by a male staff who is always very nice and helpful as I have been in this place few times and been served by him. Even tho I came early and it was not very busy the male staff kept himself very busy by restocking the drinks etc. During my visit he made sure everything is fine and I am ok. The restaurant is very big so it’s plenty of room to sit. There is Christmas decorations all over the place. My vegan burger was great as always. Great experience. Highly recommend for people who haven’t tried it yet. I don’t eat meat but heard the beef burger is great too, better than the chicken one.

Been to honest burgers a few times and can’t fault the quality of food or the service. Today the staff went above and beyond to make us feel cared for even though we were the ones who had made a mistake when reading the menu and ordered an item incorrectly. We will definitely be returning, albeit we will be ordering their Christmas chicken special, just without the bacon 😁

Had dinner here (autumn) - There were customers but not particular busy - unfortunately only found out they had a skeleton staff on that evening, once we'd been seated. We felt obliged to accept the waiter's seating us opposite the food preparation counter. Very noisy with constant traffic. (another couple came in, were sat next to us & then moved themselves elsewhere). We were also cold. Had a wait for drinks. Waited over 45mins for food. Other customers arriving after us, got served straightaway or shortly after their orders. We noticed deliveroo men coming in regularly to collect stuff. After some time, we realised it would have been quicker to have ordered our food via deliveroo app and have them deliver it to our table!!!! Food was tasty - not that special and not filling. Only came here out of curiosity having received a voucher. Not coming back any time soon. No desserts on menu. Went down the road to "Fluffy Fluffy" for takeaway dessert.

We always have an amazing time when we come to Honest Burger. Huw our server is always super friendly and goes out of his way to say hello and ask us how we are, keeps everything perfectly clean and up to standard. It makes such a difference to have a friendly person like Huw on front of house welcoming everyone.

Delivery is awful, really bad system. Food took 2hrs and was cold. Second time we have had issues. We won’t be using them again

Came here yesterday for a post-work meeting meal with some of our team and had such an incredible experience. The food was so delicious & the staff were really lovely. Ferin was an absolute gem and deserves so much praise. They gave us such a memorable experience and were just really sweet. Martin was also so great! We will definitely be back here again in future for another meal.

Burgers are very good with regular specials so there's always something new to try. Service is great. Also one of the few burger places that include the fries in the price (the way it used to be everywhere before COVID..)

The food at this restaurant is delicious, and I really enjoyed it on my first visit. However, during my second visit, I experienced poor service. One of the staff members displayed discriminatory behavior and was very rude to us. When we informed her that we were leaving, she didn't seem to care or acknowledge us. Unfortunately, this negative experience overshadowed the meal, and we ended up leaving without ordering.

The burger of the month now is something else it was amazing it was so good I couldn't recommend it enough !

My husband and I have been regulars here for some time and consistently have great food and equally great service. I especially appreciate that I’m able to get anything on the menu made gluten free. The staff are lovely and accommodating of larger groups. Highly recommend!

Food is always great, however recently they are neglecting the details. Food coming with modifications ignored etc. Definitely eat in, not click and collect. Ordered to collect at 6pm, arrive at 5.50pm and didn't receive my food until 6.25pm, despite being told it would be 5 minutes when I first arrived. Clearly need more staff!

Tried honest burger for the first time last night. The burgers and sides are top notch and are all priced reasonably. Catered for my gluten allergy perfectly, any burger can be made gf, and all the sides are gf by default!

Been there many times. Best burger place in town, with options for vegans too. Good beer selection, and nice atmosphere. Price is fair.

Nice little burger bar good choice of burgers at a good price too. Food quality is actually really good only thing i could pick at is the onion rings were a little greasy. Service was pretty fast considering i visited on a Saturday dinner time. Will probably visit again.

It's a pretty decent burger place, situated in an old bank, right in the town centre, next to Jackson's Corner. Obviously most notable for the burgers, I've tried several of the most popular- type burgers, the cooked breakfast and the recently introduced smashed burgers, all of which were decent and the prices were reasonable. Some interesting offerings regarding drinks- I loved the mint lemonade. Service is always good, friendly and attentive. Place is designed in a modern canteen style and gets quite lively when it's busy. Pretty good for what it is. If you fancy a good quality burger it definitely delivers. Only thing- please offer an alternative to the rosemary seasoning on the fries- not all of us like it!

The food was truly amazing, and I would highly recommend it to everyone for that reason. However, I do have a concern about the hidden 12.5% service charge, which feels a bit misleading. Additionally, the wait time was quite long; it took 40 minutes for us to receive two burgers, though I understand the restaurant was busy during our visit.

Great Saturday lunch! Lovely to see so many Siren beers on tap. The special cheddar burger was insanely good Huw and who served us was spot on - perfect balance of being attentive but pacing the experience nicely and keeping track of how low our drinks had gotten. Very friendly too :) thanks!

Went there to satisfy the family's urge to eat some good quality burgers - our first visit. Loved the ambience! The service was great and it was not too crowded. Don't let the seemingly small entrance fool you. The place is cavernous on the inside. The food itself was well presented. We felt it was on the costlier side. But all in all, we were happy with the quality of the burgers. I'd bring family here as well as friends. Overall left with a positive impression.

Third time here it is always delicious! Awesome Burgers, the monthly specials that change are always great. Great prices for burgers and a side! the rosemary chips are good, they have a great selection of beers too from local breweries.

Honest Burgers constantly delivers no matter how many times I went. Probably the best burger chain there is at the moment.

Took my team here for a team social and the service was amazing! The staff are all so lovely and friendly and took the time to recommend us dishes/drinks and were very patient with all 14 of us! The food came extremely quick and it was incredible, but the hospitality we were shown made it even better :) We will be back!

This establishment is well designed and laid out. The vibe is great. I went midday during the week when it was less busy. I imagine it is even better in the evening. The food was delicious as well. Would probably eat here every week if I was a local.

I've been here a few times now and everything I have tried has been very good. Portions are generous and good value for money. The atmosphere is nice and casual and the service is pretty quick too. There is also a good range of vegetarian options. The seasoning on the fries is really nice. Great for a quick and relaxed meal!

The service was absolutely great! Big praise to a really attentive employee. The food itself was ambivalent. The side dishes (rosemary fries and salad) were great, the burger itself was rather mediocre. The ingredients listed were present in minimal quantities and the burger was quite dry. The burgers didn't look nearly as lavishly topped as they do in some of the photos here, and the cheese in particular was saved on. Also a lady burger, the man wasn't full, i.e. the burger itself was relatively small. At least there is ketchup and mayo on the table, but having to use that as burger sauce shouldn't really be the case.

Burger had very good meat, but it was a very small patty. The atmosphere was pleasant as it became busier over lunch time. Ample selection of drinks was available, but they serve NO coffee or any other warm drinks!

Seriously tasty burgers with generous fries. We were served by a bubbly Scottish waitress, really appreciated her personal touch. It’s refreshing for the UK.

We went for dinner. We had the Tribute Beef Burger, Pesto Chicken Burger, Buffalo Wings and Mint Lemonade. The wings were smashing!! Absolutely loved them! The lemonade was very refreshing. The Tribute burger was really good too. The pesto chicken burger was the most dry and bland burger I have ever had. There was some basil pesto, one tomato slice and lots and lots of leaves. Maybe that's what a pesto burger is, but I didn't like it. I put in extra mayo, pickles and chips to make it taste good. Mint Lemonade: 5/5 Buffalo Wings: 100000 Tribute Burger: 4/5 Pesto Chicken Burger: 3/5 Its a good place, but not worth the money. Also, limited options to choose from.

First of all, the French fries are delicious! The hamburger is delicious, but the onion fries on the side are also very tasty. I recommend it.

Outrageously delicious. Huw encouraged us to try the gravy with our chips and how right he was. We had to restrain our 3-year old from shouting "thank you, I like the gravy" across the restaurant. Everything was fantastic. Local Reading burger was delicious. Would travel to Reading just for these burgers and chips, no joke.

Why are the vegan burgers more expensive than the beef ones? You can’t do this and preach sustainability. Big fat L Shall continue to go to 7bone as it has more options and doesn’t charge more to not eat beef. The female staff member was lovely. Original waiter didn’t come back and other staff members were almost shouting at each other behind our table. Original guy could have been on break, but that’s why my service score is a 3. Automatic service charge is applied too.

If you want people wait to be seated you should have a sign about it and not tell of rudely when they wait and take seat themselves. Poor branch unlike Windsor one with amazing service and hospitality.
