Fantastic food! I recommend choosing some of the authentic Chinese dishes, if you don't know which ones to go for, they can help you select some. Some of the best ones are the aubergine dragon dish, and cumin lamb.

Mixed reviews on this restaurant so I was cautious but couldn’t of been better service was amazing delivery was fast but not to fast, I never mind waiting for good food, had the 17 pound sharing box and the 8 pound sharing box and I don’t think we will need to cook for a week, the food was hot and fresh curry sauce was great, the only thing I would change is the chicken balls could be half the size and double the amount, but that’s just my preference, hope they can stay constantly good as will definitely coming back

Awful. Had really good Chinese food from here in-the past, most recently food has been bland and quite frankly awful. I’ll not be going again.

The best Chinese takeaway that I've had the pleasure to use. I especially like trying the more traditional Chinese dishes. The food is always excellent, fresh and delivered in good time.

Ordered and collected food. Part of the order when collected was wrong. when I phoned to ask for correct order the woman almost blamed me and said why not just eat it. When I said don’t like prawns I could collect the correct order but would not be compensated for time wasted or that half the food would be cold while we waited for the full correct order. To be honest it’s not about the money or time it’s about customer service. The food is ok but could also go to other places where food is just as good or better. Now waiting 55 mins for the correct order and have been shouted at not to eat the wrong food (which I don’t like!!) Customer service is shocking.

I ordered a takeaway meal from Chopsticks on Saturday evening 18th December 2021. This order was for four people with main courses and spring rolls etc. This order took just over 2 hours and 6 phone calls to finally receive it and we did they had missed one main meal off. !!!!!! I phone them yet again and was told it was my fault for not giving the right instructions to the young girl who took the order. Absolutely ridiculous. Also we could not pay by card over the phone so we had to scratch around for the cash as 90% of takeaways take card. The food was just about acceptable, one meal was Duck and there were no pieces of Duck in it, it was just strips of tasteless meat definitely not Duck. My advice don’t bother there are plenty good Chinese takeaways around.

Now i know that sometimes things get mixed up when delivering.... but the way they handled the concern was horrendous! firstly the food arrived 2 hours late!! and when it did there were only 2 meals out of 5 that arrived correct.... when i spoke to them, they said they were busy and then put the phone down on me! so i called again 3 times before they answered! then the women continued to shout at me and said that it would be 1 hour before they could bring something else to me..... absolutely terrible service and i certainly wont be ordering food from there again (besides ther being only 3 pieces of meat in the special curry!)

Food late and extremely disappointing. Duck was all fat - not rendered at all Overly sweet. No balance.

I found out about Chopsticks during the first lockdown as before it was just a restaurant,we've been using it ever since and particularly like the salt and pepper ribs but all the food we've had has been excellent

Only discovered a couple of months ago by far the nicest Chinese in Huddersfield! Friendly and welcoming and fresh food. Never a long wait 😀

This place is now a takeaway but the food is delicious. I ordered from the traditional Chinese menue. Spicy, hot and full of flavour. So good I have introduced friends to Chopsticks. Very fast delivery and all food piping hot. Can't wait for my next takeaway.

Had. Takeaway on Sunday 19/5 first time recommended by my grandson. Absolutely delicious. Well worth the money. Highly recommend it . Will definitely have another.

The same staff cook and serve the delicious food as always albeit the traditional Chinese selection ordered by those from the Far East is slightly reduced. The dining area is removed and it is now a takeaway. I have just recommended Tripadvisor to add Chopsticks as it’s own entry. Hope reviewers start using that entry once available.

This has now become chopsticks take away no long a restaurant meals are excellent good portions and reasonably priced would highly recommend

staff are brilliant. the food is excellent red hot food presented very well very extensive menus or set meal for 2 or 4 Its the only Chinese restaurant we eat at it is the best Have taken lots of friends there too and they have loved it .lots of Chinese people eat there so very authentic Have also ordered take away too which is always great

It’s really nice food this is why I get it, but I really wish I could find somewhere I like has much because this place doesn’t deserve any customers what so ever, the lady who serves is very very rude she doesn’t deserve any customers,disgraceful customer service the worse I’ve had in my life, please learn manners and stop been in such a bad mood when you serve paying customers or this place will eventually lose all its customers what it deserves. Smile be polite say thank you stop going off on one when the customer question the price specially when they are right in what there saying

Where to take Mum for Birthday tea on a Monday...... ? warm welcome and lovely fresh food. Yep it’s basic clean bright surroundings yep traditional menu yep 82 year old very happy. Beautiful fresh veg decoration to dishes and flavours spot on.

Recently visited this Chinese’s, basic but just what the doctor ordered.It came piping hot & tasty.Only gripe I had was they do no accept any Credit Card. It’s cash only.No signs or anything to let you know, only tell you when you are paying.

I come up from Liverpool to see my brother in Hudds and always come here; the aubergine is bloody amazing and I usually can't stand aubergine. The frog's legs are boss too.

Hemos comido aquí varias veces, no siempre, creo que es genial. El personal es servicial y amable, el lugar nos limpia y las cervezas están frías. Pero lo mejor es la comida. Ir por el menú tradicional chino y no te decepcionará. Los puntos destacados son el filete de cordero con el comino, el pickle pepino, el picante de pollo con brócoli y el Chill es con ajo.

Mi familia y yo hemos ido a casa en varias ocasiones y así esta noche me decidí a preguntar a mi madre a venir como la comida y el servicio siempre ha sido muy buena. Sin embargo, ese no fue el caso en esta ocasión. Todo empezó a ir mal cuando nuestra sopa de pescado vino y nos hizo ir a mitigar y boca el sabor de jabón. Al principio pensamos que era pero nos encanta chili chili y nos dimos cuenta de que era una sensación muy diferente como nuestra gargantas eran mitigar también me sentí casi como ácido. Llamé al servidor que he conocido muchas veces antes y dije y dijo que fue un error, pero no podía explicar lo que estaba aparte de demasiado de un ingrediente. Ella dijo que nos cambiaran la sopa para algo diferente que era agradable. Sin embargo, cuando nos íbamos no darnos una factura, pero sólo una cantidad que pagamos. Como yo estaba esperando que mi madre me di cuenta de que la cantidad era bastante alta para lo que habíamos comido, así que mi madre pidió un descanso cuenta. Que es cuando nos dimos cuenta de que ella no había retirado el plato de pescado ácido de la factura y nos cobran por ella. Fue en este punto, la mujer se volvió muy grosero y arrogante a mi madre como ella había sido capturado. Ella nos dio el dinero pero dijo que ahora ella tendría que pagar por el plato de ácido. Todavía no entiendo cómo ella podría pensar que deberíamos estar pagando por un plato que sabía como jabón y anestesiado nuestro tounges, Labios y garganta. Entonces ella procedió sigan diciendo adiós adiós! ! ! Desde luego escogeremos y repetidamente. Tomó toda mi energía a mantener la calma ya que habló con mi madre anciana como eso. Nunca jamás volveré a este lugar horrible de nuevo! ! También recomendaría cualquiera que vaya allí que tener cuidado ya que realmente no sé qué poner en su comida que sabe como jabón y ácido. Me sentí enfermo toda la noche y mi hijo ha enfermado. Que se informe de este incidente a los departamentos correctos en el Consejo.

La comida aquí es buena y a un precio razonable. El menú tiene una gran variedad de platos incluyendo ancas, intestinos de cerdo y cerdo pies si te gusta comer bastante extrema! Me quedé con el pollo al curry, que era bueno. El lugar necesita una redecoración ya que hay fichas y grietas en las paredes y en el hay telarañas en el techo decoración china. El personal es amable. Sólo necesita un poco de cuidado, eso es todo.

Este no es el típico restaurante chino/takeawy. Tienen platos que esperarías en un menú chino en el REINO UNIDO, pero hay muchas cosas que son muy "étnico". Por ejemplo. Berenjena horneados con cerdo chilie es excepcional como es Green Lake sopa. Probar cosas desde las páginas del menú. También popular en la comunidad de la universidad china.

Nunca he tenido el placer de visitar el restaurante, pero este es mi favorito para llevar chino en Huddersfield. El menú es mucho más variada que en la mayoría de los otros sitios, y tan delicioso. Gran tofu.

La mejor comida china en Huddersfield a precios muy razonables. Gran servicio y como asiduos los servidores saben lo que nos gusta y nunca dejará de sorprendernos. Ver un montón de estudiantes chinos y familias cada vez que vamos. No puede haber una mejor recomendación que tener personas de origen chino en un restaurante disfrutando de la comida china

学生には若干高い6ポンド程度価格帯ながら味は確実です。基本的にすべてのメニューにスープが付くようです。お昼時はかなり込みますので相席が予想されます。テイクアウトもできるので便利です。

Good service plenty variety and also meal not on menu provided. Good steam boat variety only thing got caught out CASH ONLY so a fair walk to cash machine....a family run business

What a lovely old fashioned authentic Chinese restaurant. It was quiet when we arrived but they made us welcome, tasty food served quickly with an extensive menu and friendly staffThe beef and spring onion and ginger was very tasty as was the crispy pork in vinegar. Fresh orange was brought as a complementary finishing touch. Not glitzy and glamorous but decent food. But they only take cash so visit the machine before

After work mates going on how good this place was i was dying to try it . Promised hubbie id treat him . Everyday i smell the beautiful smell and it makes me hungry . Tried it tonight . After ordering our 3 course meal was ready in 10 mins . Wow ! Super fast !! Soup & appetizers hot & tasty , the main came & what a let down , bland & tasteless . Not sure if a coinsidence but 4 hours later , really bad stomach cramps and !!!!!!

I am vegetarian and struggle to find good food anywhere in huddersfield. I often stick to the same 2 restaurants. This place is always packed a favourite for the Chinese community which is usually a good sign. The staff are helpful and pleasant and the food is very good. Plus you get a fortune cookie with every meal.The food here does not taste stodgy like some chinese restaurants but fresh and tasty.

Quet meal with Ming and 2 friends Michael and Nicholas. !st time i had been here after Ming and Nicholas discovered it, Very tempted by the soft shell crab but went for the whole roast Aubergine with Pork and chillies. Really Really good Ming had what looked like Salt & Pepper beef really dry but with chilly and wasabi bean. Very very hot with a bit of an afterburn but not an unpleasant one when you get used to it. along with a chicken and chinese veg casserole and some very reasonably priced wine this was a really good night out enjoyed by everyone and finished off by a live band at The Millers in Brighouse

ordered salt and pepper squid and chicken. was flavoursome but special fried rice was bland and colourless. 5 mini spring rolls did not have a nice texture but are the same as some other chinese spring rolls

Always good to see Chinese people in a Chinese restaurant. Large selection of food. Family friendly, family run restaurant that has no bells and whistles but decent food. Friendly service. Can be a bit noisy when a lot of Chinese people are there who are excited enjoying each others company and the food.

The décor of the place is not particular inviting, but it is noticeable that many of the customers are from the Chinese community...Always a good sign.The food is tremendous and the menu is very different to most Chinese restaurants.The takeaway menu is also very varied and good.

The real deal. Whole schezuan aubergine fantastic.Hot pots looked good. Will definitely go back for those.

Now you can eat the English version, or choose from an incredible selection of authentic dishes. We love the cumin and coriander lamb, beef shin, and beautiful light fried aubergine. Incredible choice and range of freshly prepared excellent food. Huddersfield is small and I struggle to name my top 5 restaurants - but Home Town comes 1st, followed by Jannat and Med One. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Food always arrives quickly and the atmosphere is relaxed. I would say that it isn't a 'Romantic' atmosphere as such, but a place that I am proud to introduce to visiting friends and family. Excellent value. It is a little odd that they only take cash, so make sure you go prepared. A banquet (starters and mains, with beer and a bottle of wine) came to £18 a head. Really fantastic value.

Went for birthday meal ..... Fantastic ! Food was delicious we had banquet for 4 costing £15 approx each but was good value for money with soup then mixtures of starters then 5 main courses including duck and all the sauces on the dishes were really tasty. The service was fabulous ! The only niggle would be to have a little more time In between courses but we should have stated this to them really, fantastic restaurant would highly recommend the restaurant was full of Chinese diners which speaks for itself.

This place is not standard 'British' Chinese food. This is the real deal. Some of the food on the menu is unfamiliar. However, the quality is excellent, the service speedy, and the food excellent. If you are going to try it, make sure you take cash because they don't take cards. Well worth a try if you are feeling adventurous.

Service was excellent, atmosphere nice and casual, food authentically Chinese and fab ( can have ordinary British Chinese if you want though)

There are very few Chinese `Restaurants` in or near the town centre but this is one.Plenty of other excellent `collect` or delivery options, most extremely good. some do have a seating area, but if you want to go out for dinner, and want Chinese, it has to be here. looking forward to a "real" Chinese Restaurant in town.

The front of the menu says 'Cash only'. We did not have cash on us but we were told that wecould get cash from the machine at Tesco on the other side of the ring road! Needless to saywe did not eat there. How many people expect to pay cash in restaurants?

Don't be put off by the slightly chaotic arrangements or the opening pages of the menu. Push on through to the regional Chinese dishes and you'll find the reason why the Hometown is so popular with the Chinese students in Huddersfield. All I can say is that if you're familiar with the kind of food served at the Red Chilli restaurants, the Hometown will not disappoint and, if you still hanker after sweet and sour pork, try the crispy pork chops.

We have been to this restaurant many times with no problem.That all changed when we took in our four vouchers last week for one free main course. When we got home and opened up one of the meal containers was only half full or empty, depends on how you look at it. This week we went down for another takeaway at Home Town and I mentioned the short fall from last week, we were shrugged off with all sorts of excuses like that's how it is and we only put three prawns in etc. We have ordered this before and it was not like this. Have a look at the picture.DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE unless you are on a diet and have money to throw away.

I do not know another Chinese restaurant in Hudds frequented by the Chinese community. It is a no frills family business where the service is warm and friendly and food takes like home cooked Chinese food. The portions are generous and the doggy bag I brought home provided dinner for 2 more nights. Will certainly go again and would recommend it to anyone that enjoys Chinese food too.

Popped in here one friday evening with my partner, there was us, and two ther tables. The restaurant was amess with stacks of boxes, napkins etc on quite a few of them, also noticed that the walls behind where we were sitting were covered with sauce splatters and windowsill filthy (after the food came unfortunately). One person was workign covering the takeaway and the restaurant. We had to ask for our drinks three times as he had forgotten and ask for cutlery after our food was on the table! The actual food was ok but the service and the fact that we felt like we were sitting in someones raher chaotic living room let it down. Go to 88 Noodle Bar, miles better. It was also quite expensive

Has Home Town facade but takeaway menu and free calendar given to me recently as a "Christmas present" says Chop Stix is its name. There's great branding for you!Anyway, I have had a few takeaways in the past from this place, which have all been okay but nothing great. The last one I had (very recently) was extremely average and actually just not very nice. The place has always looked a little dishevelled, but I have in the past put this down to it being quite popular with the Chinese community and so it was a more sort of functional "typical" downtown Chinese restaurant. However, this latest visit saw dirty towels on the floor by the main entrance and other "jumble sale-type" stuff hanging around. Doesn't fill you with confidence that the kitchen is clean and ordered if they can't be bothered to make front of house look welcoming. Not going again. It's cheap but I'd rather pay more for good food.

This place was a hidden gem. I first went (with very little enthusiasm) following a recommendation by a colleague, around 3 years ago. Back then the food was amazingly authentic, hugely varied and sometimes a bit scary-sounding, utterly different to the rubbish you can get from a take-away, the service was friendly and the place was always packed both with chinese people and with all types of locals.It was closed down (I won't mention what the rumour-mills said) and then re-opened with new faces. Following a disappointing visit around 10 months ago, my chap and I decided to try again and see what was happening. Friday tea-time (7ish) usually shows a place off reasonably well: getting busy but not mad.We got there to be greeted by an obviously long-abandoned and uncleared table, the bar was covered in dirty glasses and there were just 3 tables occupied. It took a while to be seated, the alcohol license has not been reinstated, obviously, as we just about managed to communicate that we would like drinks but ended up with water. After a lengthy wait while another table was vacated and left uncleared, we left. It was never glitzy but the quality of the food made it very worth the visit, but now it's just scruffy and inefficient seeming.Can't comment on the food and whether it has improved from the mediocre take-out standard it was last time we tried it under this management as we were too hungry and disappointed to wait any longer. Went to Bengal Spice in Holmfirth instead: a fantastic place!
