Perfecto! Nuestro nuevo lugar favorito! Pequeño, acogedor, decoración de 80 s. Bar vibra. Pero la comida... la comida es la mejor que hemos tenido durante mucho tiempo. Cada plato era excepcional. Añadido a eso, calidez, servicio amable, lista de reproducción de la casa peculiar / suave y - todos nos encantó, niños incluidos. Sin duda volveremos tantas veces como podamos : ) gracias Holt.

A complete refurbishment since we were last there, all high tables, has theook of a high class cocktail bar. Food choices were small like Tapas or some mains, we had both unfortunately for some of us service was slow and our sides didn't arrive until we had finished our main meal, a little disappointing. Great night though catching up with old friends.

The best food I've eaten in Sheffield. Each element of the meal was delicious. The service was also excellent- very warm and friendly and great recommendations from the menu. We will definitely be back.

I feel like I must have visited a different restaurant than is reviewed here. We were greeted by an unusual ambience of a disco ball, high narrow marble tables facing a largely mirrored wall so can watch yourself eat and a loud soundtrack from 90s club anthems. The menu was confusing in that, unlike the website, nothing was arranged as a starter and main. Just a a variety of “small plates”-vastly varying in price that matched the starters and mains on the website and may have been possible to navigate if the lines hadn’t misaligned so- for example- the chicken wings (starter) appeared to be £27. Once we had navigated the confusing menu we awaited the arrival of the food. The bread and hendos butter was fine- after you put in a bit of effort to give the butter a good work through with the knife to warm it so it didn’t ping around the plates when you tried to spread it. The scallops we ordered apparently weren’t good enough quality for the chef so we were asked to re-order and the wings and squid were ok but nothing special. The mains were fairly unappetising. The duck sat in a sad watery puddle of unseasoned fennel water and was far away from pink. The pork belly with cockles was chewy and surprisingly missing any cockles. The best part of the evening was befriending the table next to us, celebrating a birthday, and finding some hilarity in our shared awful experience. I haven’t laughed to that extent in a while and for that I give an extra star.

Me encantaría poder revisar Holt, pero lamentablemente no he podido visitarlo, aunque no por falta de intentos. Les envié un correo electrónico en junio para preguntar sobre la cena del día de Navidad y no recibí respuesta hasta octubre indicando que no van a celebrar el día de Navidad este año - obviamente en este punto ya habíamos reservado por suerte en otro lugar. Luego pregunté sobre la víspera de Año Nuevo a finales de noviembre y me quedé estupefacto cuando dijeron que aún no tenían su menú o precios, un mes fuera - ¡supuse que estarían llenos para este momento! Después de varias llamadas telefónicas todo lo que he logrado deducir es que será un menú degustación en la región de £ 85 - 95. Todavía y hoy (18 de diciembre) no he recibido confirmación de esto ni he visto ningún menú, faltando menos de 2 semanas para el NYE. Basta decir que hemos hecho otros planes. Pasé el sábado por la noche -14 de diciembre, que es notoriamente una de las noches más concurridas para la industria hotelera- y estaban vacías. ¡No me extraña!

Wow wow what a fabulous place, we came for a friends birthday and had a great evening !! .. fab food, fab cocktails …. Great vibe.

I visited with some friends and we had such a nice evening. Really nice atmosphere, great cocktails and the food was absolutely delicious. Excellent service too, will definitely be returning. Fab location.

Lugar encantador. La comida era excelente, y el vino tinto era excelente. En general era algo diferente a los otros restaurantes de la zona. No es barato, pero se paga una gran experiencia.

Lovely food and a good selection on the menu. We were sat facing a wall at the side of the restaurant, which was a little unusual, but if sat at a regular table I’m sure the feel would be perfect.

We have been to Holt many times and the food is absolutely delicious. But what has happened to the ambience? The music was too loud to making any pleasant dining discussion difficult. And although the high chairs/stools were comfortable the ratio height of chair to table was totally wrong. And a disco ball was spinning all very weird! Are you a club or a fine dining restaurant? I won’t be going back unless you sort out the seating!!!

Excellent food. Would recommend the pork belly, the picked cockle dressing worked well and gave it that interesting twist. The chips were very good as well.

Dos veces desde el sitio web en el servicio de correo electrónico (sin respuesta) y una vez en el teléfono. Would have been nice to actually be able to review the restaurant and food! Tried 3 times to book this restaurant. Twice from the website on the email facility ( no response) and once on the phone. The gentleman promised to call me be back to confirm the booking, but still waiting 6 days later! Was trying to book this for my partners birthday, but now booked elsewhere. Assume you have plenty of customers if this is your attitude.

Absolutamente increíble! Fuimos a cenar y tuvimos una cena asada, absolutamente hermosa y deliciosa. El personal era absolutamente increíble , extremadamente acogedor y amable . Mi novio y yo fuimos por nuestro aniversario y lo hicieron tan especial y perfecto para nosotros. Recomendaría 100%!!!! ¡Gracias Holt! 🥰

I'm not at all sure about the recent refurb. All the seats are now high, so don't expect to keep your feet on the floor! That might be ok but the tables are all at chest height. It's an unusual experience to eat with raised elbows! Not sure a disco ball belongs in a restaurant either but I got used to it. The staff were both friendly and welcoming. One of the two knew about the food and the one who didn't had the sense to ask her colleague and not to bluff. The food was ok. The Babaganoush starter was tasty. The cod main was ok but rather salty and really not much more than nicely roasted cod on mushy peas with chipstick crisps. None of the available deserts sounded very inspiring so I gave desert a miss. I really want to like Holt. I love the local and seasonal food ethos but feel that you've missed the mark a bit. Perhaps trying a bit too hard? How about a set menus -fewer choices but simple, local. well-cooked food.

Food was absolutely amazing and front of house (Ché and Alfie) were lovely!! Perfect combination!! We will definitely come back!! Xxx

We visited Holt for a birthday meal. First touch was a signed card from the staff ❤️❤️. Food was amazing! Generous portions and amazing flavours. We had the beetroot starter (no photo 😱) and then the duck and steak. Both brilliant. Fantastic wine too. We will be back 👏👏👏

An amazing dining experience!! We booked Holt last minute for a birthday celebration and it lived up to the hot anticipation that we had about our visit! Holt is the restaurant Sheffield has needed for a long time. Amazing food that’s beautifully presented, really well priced and the staff are lovely - particular shoutout to Molly who served us!✨ Definitely one of, if not the best restaurant in Sheffield and will be our new spot for date nights, celebrations and an all round very good meal!

This is a modern British food restaurant at the top of Ecclesall Road. It is remarkable how efficient the small kitchen is. There are tables on two levels with the kitchen being upstairs. I had the scallops followed by the lamb and both were perfectly cooked. The waiting staff have great control of the whole restaurant. We really enjoyed our evening and were very happy with the final cost. The only mild criticism I would have is that presentation of the main courses can be better.

We tried the new Kids Eat Free/Early Bird Menu today. Going to a restaurant with three children including a toddler is always challenging and anxiety inducing! On the contrary, our dining experience at The Holt was so friendly, warm and welcoming. Jess and Molly were so attentive! They were brilliant with the children and nothing was too much. Jess was so helpful keeping the children entertained, she truly went above and beyond to make our dining experience as enjoyable as possible. She was a natural with the children...this was incredibly helpful when we were busy eating ourselves. The menu was fantastic, enough to suit all dietary requirements and they are particularly careful with allergies. Everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented on the plate. There is so much thought and skill that goes behind every dish. We were so impressed with our meal, even the kids meal! Often the kids meal options aren't well thought out but this menu had everything. It was also freshly cooked and the quality of ingredients was to a high standard. We dine out regularly on Ecclesall Road, this restaurant was stand out, a Gem, a wonderful addition to the Sheffield food scene ❤️ Again thank you for everything 🥰

Such a lovely evening, really good for a special occasion. Service from Molly was great and nice atmosphere. If I could offer any advice would be to increase the beer options and serve champagne by the glass.

A second visit to this local restaurant. Really delicious food. Pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Jessica and accompanying waitress friendly, helpful and attentive without being over the top. I don't feel the need to go anywhere else in Sheffield having found this gem.

Thursday evening at Holt. Between us we had the WHISKY FLAMBE DUCK BREAST, CHICKEN SUPREME and ROASTED COD. Followed by steamed ginger pudding. All went down very well. I had the cod which was delicious with the lentils and spinach, chilli and dill. Service was efficient and friendly if a little over the top. The only criticism we have was with the Irish coffees. What we got was a shot of coffee and whisky with a dollop of cream. Sugar on the side. Overall a good experience, lovely food.

Sunday lunch was amazing. Pie was wonderful. Fantastic Chef, all cooked perfectly. Service from Jess was attentive and humorous. We'll done. Highly recommended

Jessica has brought top class service! A down to earth, chatty, extremely friendly individual who made the experience personal. My entire family loved the Sunday lunch and we all agreed it’s the best one we have in a while. My dad and brothers especially loved the cauliflower cheese. Will be back again!

Perfect night out for a casual meal. Jess was an amazing waitress, very attentive. We did have a little mishap with a glass of water but her service more than made up for it, She is an absolute delight! Couldn't thank her enough for her excellent service. Side note: They only take cash tips!

We had one of the best meals we've ever had last night. The food was absolutely delicious, and Molly just made the night. We had a fantastic time, easy to achieve when you have excellent food and service! We are already planning a return visit!

Lovely setting and food was great but service left a lot to be desired. For the price point of the menu there’s a level of service expected and that’s not what was received. As soon as we’d finished our meal whilst they said there was ‘no rush’ all the actions of our waitress made us feel otherwise. Would return for the food but not until the attitude of the serving staff is improved.

Best restaurant in Sheffield, milanos was the best till I tried Holt. Mollie has been fantastic it's well worth the money. Absolutely to die for! Go duck, go lamb, go scallops, go pawn bisque. GO GO GO to HOLT

Molly and the team took great care of us during a family meal. We were celebrating a birthday and Molly made our visit feel truly special. The food was enjoyed by everyone who attended. We very much look forward to visiting Holt again soon. Thank you Molly and team!

Food was outstanding, atmosphere was lovely. The only reason for not giving five stars is that we came here for an anniversary and I had spoken to someone on the phone for the our table to be decorated, for there to be flowers and prosecco on ice to suprise my wife, but this didn't materialise.

Amazing food and service. Che was the perfect host and made the evening one to remember. The food was perfect, extremely well presented and tasted fantastic, and we look forward to coming back for a family Sunday roast. And to thank Che for his wonderful service. Highly recommended.

My family and I had the pleasure of dining at Holt Restaurant this Easter Sunday, and it was an experience worth praising. From the moment we made the reservation, the attention to detail was evident. We received a thoughtful phone call beforehand to check if we had children joining us especially considering it was Easter Sunday and that chocolate and ‘love’ the Easter piggie was in-place. The food was simply exceptional. I opted for the roast beef, and it was undoubtedly the best beef I’ve had in quite some time. Each dish was prepared with care and attention, showcasing the culinary mastery of the chefs at Holt Restaurant. Moreover, the service was impeccable throughout our meal. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable dining experience. Overall, Holt Restaurant exceeded our expectations in every aspect. It was a perfect Easter celebration filled with delicious food, warm hospitality, and attention to detail. We can’t wait to return for another unforgettable dining experience.

Very good food. The only negative comment we have is that it is not a great idea to serve a dish with caviar on a black plate as you can't see it. Thank you for a good evening

This was my 2nd visit to Holt for dinner. I love the menu - the combination of flavours and the quality of the ingredients is excellent. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

Had a extremely good lunch at Holt , portion size was spot on the strawberry cheesecake is the best I've ever had.

An absolute must! We loved this Ecclesall Road gem! Myself and my other half went for lunch today and we cannot wait to go back! The food was delicious, staff so friendly and the ambience perfect (relaxing and chic!) We will most definitely be back very soon to try more of the menu!

So disappointing! We were so very excited to try out this highly spoken about new comer to Eccy Road … but unfortunatly our experience left us feeling Underwhelmed and thoroughly disappointed The food was below par, I think my picture of the starter says it all … (this was a very sad and bland duck pastrami) ☹️🦆 But the main contender for the disappointment was the fact they think it’s acceptable to serve off muscles 🤢 How a trained chef and staff cannot smell what can only be described as sewerage is beyond me … 😯 But then to reserve the same batch of muscles on the main dish after we’d sent a bowl back … Wow! 🤨 The waiting staff are very young and not knowledgable of their menu or drinks, the restaurant feels very tightly packed, the atmosphere is cold and the whole evening was extremely underwhelming to say the least

Restaurant looks appealing from the street, and the menu looked good. The Waitress didn’t appear to have had any training, she didn’t explain anything about the food and could not answer simple questions. She set down the dishes which looked like fine dining food but then didn’t go on to explain the components of the dishes. The food itself was ok, looks great but not as tasty unfortunately. We won’t be returning.

Lovely friendly staff, got a birthday card signed by all of them and a pretty pocket notebook they'd even wrapped! Lovely tasty food which is well presented. A bit pricey but good quality.

Birthday bliss. Thanks to team Holt for making my birthday dinner a good un. Cod scotch eggs, fish main and lemon tiramisu were all spectacular. It’s the little touches that made everything work. The young, all women wait staff, were attentive and engaging. Keep up the good work. Ps. the card and present were a nice touch too, how very thoughtful.

After reading great reviews about Holt we were keen to try it. We were a party of four and upon arrival we were shown to our table. It felt very cramped and the back of our chairs were rubbing against the chairs of the table behind - not a great start. We asked if we could move but this was refused. Our waitress didn’t seem to have much knowledge about the menu, I asked what some of the dish components were and she didn’t know herself and had to go and ask??? Starters were nice but £13 for three scollops is a bit steep. The selection of bread and dips were nice enough. For main I ordered sirloin steak and asked for medium rare. If I’m honest it was probably the worst steak I’ve ever had. It was overcooked, tough and generally bland in flavour. For £30 I expect a lot better. I passed my comments on to the waitress but nothing came of it. The other mains of lamb, chicken supreme and pork belly were reported to be ok but again weren’t up to the standard you expect for the price. The total bill for 4 came to £190, which I feel wasn’t reflected in the overall dining experience. I’m sorry to say that I can’t review Holt to the high standards that other diners have done, it really wasn’t outstanding at all. We won’t be returning.

Outstanding service! Stylish dining with delicious food and incredibly helpful staff. My partner even receieved a card and a present from the restaurant for his birthday meal! We'll definitely be coming back again soon!

Hugely disappointing. This place will not survive. The food was mediocre at best. If you’re going to charge that much in Sheffield the meal, atmosphere and setting must meet a standard. Wine selection was poor. The service was at least pleasant. In no way justifies the £110 bill for 2 people (starter and main + side and 1 glass of wine each), many other places in sheffield offer a better meal for less. This restaurant is local to us and we really wanted it to be great and support local but it really wasn’t.

Average food, trying to be up market with up market prices.. Good service with polite staff... Will I go again? Sorry no!

A beautiful brand new restaurant recently opened that sets a new standard of what incredibly created dishes should be. Whether you want to grab a meal on your own, take your partner out or arrange a family or corporate dinner, then give this place your time I highly recommend Holt. Lovely decor and plate presentation (perfect for Instagram pics for sure lol) staff are friendly, knowledgeable and when you chat to the Chef Darius you immediately understand why everything is to a high standard. You can see the Pride and passion on your plate. Can't wait to see his creations for next season's menu. I haven't been this excited about food for quite some time. Great work Holt restaurant see again tomorrow, I'll be bringing a client for a meal and meeting. 👌🏽

Food and service is good but is just not worth the money.

What an amazing place!! The quality of the food was outstanding, the nicest meal we’ve had in ages. The service matched the meal, the waitresses were attentive, knowledgeable and very polite. There is acoustic wood panelling on the walls which absorbs the noise very well so you can actually hear all your parties’ conversation - a very welcomed change to the norm. The choice of food covers a variety of tastes, something for everyone. With a choice of 6 starters and 7 mains, it is beautifully presented and not overbearing. The chef/owners should be very proud. Honestly, this is a rare find and you’ll not be disappointed.

Everything was delicious and perfect. I had the duck pastrami and my partner had the prawn cocktail for starters. Then we had the lamb and beef for roast dinner.

First visit to Holt last night after being recommended by a friend. Fabulous cocktails and amazing food, you will not be disappointed.

Owing to a mess up with a booking elsewhere, we went into Holt at 7.30 on a Friday & we were grateful they could accommodate our table for 6. Sat upstairs & had the chefs table. A lovely calm kitchen. & friendly, efficient staff. All 6 of us enjoyed our food, well seasoned & tasty. Hugely knowledge as one of our group is dairy free. All in all...fabulous. Thank you to Darius & the team.

My husband and I had a meal at Holt restaurant last week and the food was exquisite! It really exceeded our expectations. The starter, main and dessert was beautifully presented, tasted amazing, and so much variety to choose from. The service was also amazing. Lovely ambience very friendly and welcoming staff. We can’t wait to go back already and we will definitely be recommending Holt to our family and friends.

Great meal in a great location. Good to see quality food on Banner Cross again. Starters, mains, cocktails and wine for 2 came to £90. Good quality food and reasonable price. Cocktails at £9 and very reasonable wine choices. Menu is small and if you sit upstairs you can see the open kitchen. Small and intimate.

Went for a meal with friends - there were 6 of us. We sat upstairs and had plenty of room. It was great to watch the chefs at work . Food delicious - didn’t have room for a pudding so will need to go back!! Service was great and wine delish.

Delicious food and wonderful service from Charlotte. I had a Margarita cocktail and the gin cured salmon, and absolutely loved both ☺️ This restaurant is a great addition to Banner Cross and I can’t wait to go again.
