Very tasteless cakes, didn’t like coffee either. We ordered apple pie and caramel shortbread for dessert and latte & mocchiato for drink. I was very dissatisfied with my choice. I think this place is overrated.

The setting was nice and the food was good quality. What let this down was that the lady behind the till was quite rude and impatient while taking my order. It seemed like it had been a busy day, however this did unfortunately ruin the experience.

Stopped for a coffee on our walk. It was late In the day, but the toilets had not beenchecked recently. The bin was over flowing, there was no loo roll and they were dirty.I do believe that restrooms give a good idea of the standard cleanliness. Also nobody asked to ensure we followed any Covid guidelines. Coffee was expensive, drinkable.

FYI: NOT DOING EAT OUT TO HELP OUTLet’s all just be honest for a moment: the food is fairly nice here, the coffee is ok (both are over priced even by Richmond standards but we pay it because....) the setting is what really sets this place apart as being amazing!Just be aware, if you’re visiting Mon-Wed during August 2020, for some very odd reason, they’re not taking part in the government’s national ‘eat out to help out’ scheme. And although there is a sign and news article on the door about the compulsory use of face masks in the restaurant, the staff were very good about not enforcing it on those that couldn’t/shouldn’t wear masks. This place is very ‘instagramable’ but you’ll kick yourself (and be cursing all those 4 and 5 star reviews) when you sense the reality.

This cafe is straight out of a fairytale, one of my favourites in London. The design outside is gorgeous and there’s a lovely view of the park and river. I’m not vegetarian myself but lots of great options. The gluten free roasted tomato and smoked cheese tart was delicious. Service was excellent and prices are reasonable. The cafe was really busy inside but it was nice to sit outside and enjoy the view, even on a winter day. Dog friendly too which is great.

Beware. I visit this cafe often and it's normally lovely. Except January 2020, when they decided to go full vegan only (!) for Veganuary. So, only full vegan food, no milk unless coconut or almond and a very limited cake offering. No butter produce, no eggs, absolutely no animal produce and no 'normal' milk. The normally excellent coffee is very odd without milk and I haven't gone back since my first January visit. Sorry, Hollyhock. I support your right to choose but I like a choice as well. Normal vegetarian and yummy cake service, I'm assured, is back in February.

We called here last weekend in the hope of getting breakfast. There seemed to more brunch type food so I opted for a scone. I would have expected the scone to be warm and hopefully freshly baked but it came out of a jar on the counter and was stone cold and hard. It's not the worst I've had but a pity in such beautiful surroundings, I was expecting so much more.

Came across this place by accident on my way to Richmond Park. It's like something out of a storybook; half hidden on top of a hill and with a cute balcony overlooking the river. Had an oat latte and a cake from here and both were delicious. The staff are super friendly and the guy who served me was great - very funny and even microwaved half my brownie so I could try it both hot and cold! Wish I had had room for one of the soups or salads as everything looked tasty. I'm leaving London otherwise I would definitely be back. I recommend coming here for a blissful coffee or wholesome vegetarian lunch if in the area.

A beautiful accidental find on bank holiday Monday. Good points. Excellent coffee, beautiful views of the grounds and river, friendly staff and a quirky vibe. And the cakes looked amazing. Slight irritation. The price of the coffee. I know it’s Richmond, I know it’s fair trade, but £3.15 for a medium coffee? More expensive than my local coffee shop and that’s fair trade too with a portion of the price goes towards a homeless shelter. Another slight irritation was the toilets. Very dark, and a really wet floor and overflowing bins. Otherwise a really nice place to visit.

I met up with my brother and he took me here for a delightful light lunch. My roasted vegetable quiche topped with filo pastry was lovely and tasty. I also had the Greek salad and the chickpea salad. The building itself is adorable and the location/view is very serene and lovely. however the staff was short and passive with me, and everyone in line before and after me so i'm not certain it was personal, the girl at the counter just must have other ambitions in life... The food has potential, sounds lovely on the menu but is nothing-y and just put into a microwave to make hot so for the prices, it seems a bit unbalanced. The coffee/tea was good though, so i'd say go for a cuppa then have lunch elsewhere (and hope for a nicer person to serve you)

We were spending a few hours in Richmond and were told about this café. Yes it is a little way out of the centre area and uphill through the gardens (or downhill from Petersham Road) but nothing too strenuous. We had the mushroom and spinach pie - delicious. No searching for the filling as it was filled to the top and the pastry was also very good. Choice of side salads if you wished to pay another £3 - we did and had two different salads which we then shared. Sitting outside looking down towards the Thames made for a perfect lunch spot. Reasonably priced good food, a perfect spot and friendly staff will mean we will be sure to visit again when in the town. (The cakes looked delicious too!).

I read great reviews about this place, so decided to try it out. The location and appearance of the place is really fantastic. However, the rest of the experience is poor. We ordered a couple of vegan mains. Only one turned up with salad despite the menu clearly stating both come with salad. When I asked about the missing salad, they implied that it was my mistake in that I did not order it with salad. I didn't complain and paid the extra £3 they wanted. I then got back to the table and realised both salads had feta cheese, yet this is sold as a vegan meal. The margarita pizza was average at best.I really cannot understand all the positive reviews about the food because what we ate was awful. Customer service was cold, almost grumpy. In short, if you like overpaying for poor food then this is the place for you. But if not, ignore the positive reviews and avoid.

The rating of 3 - 3.5 stars is appropriate. The food is reasonable but not great. Most is not freshly prepared but it fills the spot if you need some lunch. The location is very nice in the park just behind the kayaking club on the Thames, Richmond. Rather bohemian feel and I think it’s vegetarian. Would go again if convenient, but not go out of my way to go back.

Really lovely little cafe. Food is excellent and staff are always pleasant and helpful. Especially worth a visit in the winter when you can still sit outside and enjoy the views - blankets and hot water bottles are provided!

Beautiful old house in a stunning garden. If you were just after cake and tea/coffee then this place is quite nice. If you want more substantial food then I would not recommend. The food is so so and very expensive. Service is ok.

For the sense of being abroad and being able to look out over the river at Richmond I have a real soft spot for this cafe. I've never eaten here but have hot drinks and enjoy the feeling of tranquillity as I look out over the gardens the cafe is set in.Shame that it was closed for refurbishment on Mother's day.

Crazy, crumbly little cafe with fab cakes+a particularly good veggie lasagna! Cauliflower tart also good. Loads of alternative teas+lovely, helpful staff. Kids, dogs, writers, all welcome. I think this is a great cafe+we r regulars. Not for the dreary, uptight or ultra fussy crowd! A bit different. Go try!

Although the coffee is amazing, the customer service from the gentleman behind the counter was not welcoming - there was no smile, or any friendliness whatsoever. I actually felt like I was intruding. For nearly £4 for a coffee, you would expect a friendlier atmosphere. A shame. I don’t want to return after that experience.

We recently had our wedding at Pembroke Lodge, and I cannot say enough good things about the venue manager, Robert. From the moment we started planning to the big day itself, he was absolutely incredible. Robert went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. He was always available to answer our questions, offer solutions, and provide creative suggestions that enhanced our vision. He coordinated effortlessly with our vendors, making sure everyone was on the same page, which took so much stress off our shoulders. On the day of the wedding, he was a true rockstar! He made sure the timeline flowed perfectly, from setting up the ceremony space to ensuring the reception transitions were seamless. His dedication and hands-on approach allowed us to enjoy every moment without worrying about a single thing. Our wedding was a dream come true, and we owe so much of that to him and his team! Thank you, for everything you did to make our day magical.

An easy easy 5 star from me. This is mainly down to the food itself. The quality and freshness shines through. The seating area is nothing special but you do forget about that when you start eating. Really is amazing amazing food and my fave bakery in London. If you haven’t been….you’re missing out!!

The pub is much the same as most pubs these days. No longer has food for sale.
