Super friendly cafe in a perfect spot for sitting amongst the Gorge scenery - tried the Cheddar ice cream, it was definitely a taste sensation for cheese lovers :-)

Cute place, good location, staff were nice, but hands down the worst scones I have ever had. They were like stale bread rolls. Such a shame as I have been in the past and remembered the stones being really nice then.

My wife and l visited here on Saturday 15th. The service we received was fantastic and the atmosphere too. I had a sausage sandwich and my wife had the Brie and cranberry one. The food was fresh, plentiful and absolutely delicious. Throughout our visit the staff were courteous and attentive. Would definitely recommend without hesitation.

A very nice ordly worldly tearoom. We had 3 cream teas consisting of 4 sandwiches a scone and a pot of tea all for 42 pound which in this day and age is good friendly young staff and they have gave my Labrador a bowl of water. They also have a selection of antique teapots for sale which they wrent last year assuming they are now owners. Very good will return if we go to cheddar again.

We stumbled upon this lovely tearoom while exploring cheddar gorge and caves. I had the ham and cheddar ploughmans which was amazing. The portion size and quality of ingredients was great. The staff were really welcoming and there was not a long wait for food. Even better we were able to sit outside and enjoy the view.

We had a delicious cream tea, the scones were the best I've tasted. The staff were really welcoming and friendly. When we visit again. that will be the place we will go to eat.

We had a short break at cheddar gorge and we stumbled into the Holly House Tea Room, the antique tea pots caught our eye in the window. We bought a little tea pot to take home and was served by a lovely gentleman called John. We didn't plan to eat here but John was so engaged with us and gave us the best service that we decided to stay awhile. John was so attentive and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. A big thank you to John, we couldn't help but tell him how much we appreciated him on our way out. John if you see this: Keep doing what you are doing, from Leah and James in Northamptonshire <3

Stopped to have lunch while visiting the caves, had the lunch time special Ham & apple cider chutney sandwich and a fruit scone, cream and Rhubarb jam, friendly owner and great service and very reasonably priced.

Lovely little tea room - very reasonably prices. Friendly staff, dog friendly. Only disappointment was I don't think the soup was home made - although it doesn't state anywhere that it is , ~I just assumed. other than that just lovely.

Very friendly and welcoming. John was lovely and chatty, and was very accommodating with my vegetarian requests (impressed that they even had vegan cheese on the menu). No toilets in the cafe, but there are some just down the road. Lovely food

We waited AGES for our food, about 45 minutes. When it came it was terrible, the bread in the baguettes were soggy and chewy. Nothing was made fresh. They’d run out of pork pies for the ploughman’s, but didn’t offer to replace it with anything...

We sat in the outside section of Holly House, and enjoyed the good weather. The food was wonderful (we had baguettes and ice cream) and the staff were friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend!

If you go to Cheddar there are numerous places to get coffee, cream tea or ice-creams. We have tried a lot of them but Holly House is our out and out favourite. The coffee is lovely, their ice cream is delicious and their cream teas...

Stopped off for cream teas during a visit to the Gorge. Sat outside with our two dogs and were made to feel very welcome. The scones were delicious and cream and jam plentiful. Would definitely recommend and return if ever back in Cheddar.

We stopped here for lunch... jacket potatoes with various toppings, which came with plenty of salad and was well prepared. The two lads taking the orders seemed somewhat green, but well intentioned! The ice cream after hit the spot on the hottest day of the year.

What cute and pretty tearooms, we really didnt know which one to try as Cheddar has so many cafes and tearooms but this one caught my eye with novelty teapots everywhere and decorated so nice. We had lovely tasty Assam tea with bone china cups and it was real tea leaves! Plenty of other teas also available! We had panini's for lunch mine had ham and cheese and my partner had bacon and stilton it came with coleslaw and a side salad. Very tasty (and big). Loved this place and the service great

We had a really lovely lunch here today. I had a sandwich which was a great portion served with a nice side salad. Hubby said his breakfast was delicious too. I had a wonderful tea and scone for afters - highly recommend as it was one of the nicest homemade scones I've ever had!!!! The waiter was so friendly too. Prices - Approx: £6 for a sandwich and £5 for tea and scone. We will return

This small but charming tearoom delivers lovely food and drink. The tea is leaf tea served in pretty china. The sandwiches and other food is delicious and the helping are large. This is all accompanied with a friendly service.

Popped in for lunch and wasn't disappointed. Service was quick and there was a great selection of things for lunch. Lovely to find a place doing tea with leaf tea and wide selection of food to cater for dietary needs. Will be back again. The number of tables are limited inside so if you want to book for a special occasion, you need to book ahead.

Really good place this. Prices are very reasonable, lovely home made cakes and great cup of tea. Very friendly staff. My only criticism is that it allows dogs inside when they have an garden for them to be out in. Dogs inside food places should not be allowed IMO. That said, recommended.

We went here for lunch after I spotted a sign about lemon curd cream tea and I was not disappointed. It's a quaint little tea room with proper tea pots and loose leaf tea. My husband had a cheese and chutney panini and was very pleased with that too.

I have been here a few times, mainly with my dog after hiking.

We stopped off here on our way up the gorge, I ordered the holly house breakfast which was great. Fresh ingredients and larger than expected, the egg was perfect and came with lovely black pudding!

Visited for a spot of lunch, and we were very happy with our experience. I had the 3 cheese ploughmans and it was such good value, very generous with the cheese and was delicious. We highly recommend this lovely little gem of a tea room. sadly too full for ice cream!

We had been looking for a tea room like this throughout our holiday and this place didn't disappoint. The scones were lovely and cakes were delicious. We would definetly return here.

After we had a night in a tent and came to Cheddar for visiting caves, we just went to have a bite in this place and it was honestly the best place we ever visited. The staff is super friendly, the tea for 2 people in nice pot and milk, the food extra tasty. We would probably visit the gorge again just to go to this place.

This made my holiday complete. I have two young dogs, one being deaf, and the staff from here went above and beyond. They both received a big fuss over, and I brought them 2 doggie ice creams which they loved.

We piled into this cafe 4 hungry adults and 2 hungry teenagers plus dog. The staff were helpful and friendly. They were happy to swap items on the all day breakfasts to suit our needs. The cream tea came with fresh warm scones and plenty of jam and cream. The ploughman’s lunch (picture) was delicious. 6 hungry eaters satisfied for less than £50. What is not to like?

Cheddar seems to be full of tea shops so competition is fierce which seems to ensure standards are high. The coffees, teas, flapjacks and ice creams at Holly House are all good, certainly not the cheapest place for a scoop of ice cream but it’s locally made and of good quality.

Very cosy. Quaintly cute - lots of teapots, floral tablecloths and not huge. However the staff are lovely and the food is excellent. My husband had a pasty and I had a tuna/cheese panini. It was delicious and very filling with salad and coleslaw. Thoroughly recommended.

Visited this lovely little tearoom today right in the heart of Cheddar Gorge. We all had a cream tea and were not disappointed, in fact had an extra scone, they were so good. Freshly baked and you really could tell.

This is a lovely little tea room. Its a family run business which is good to sea these days. We had a variety of lovely fresh scones, cakes and drinks which were served by a very pleasant young lady. It has nice china tea cups and plates which adds to the attraction. We finished a little after closing time, but were not hurried out which was nice. It also offers hot meals which looked rather good as well, but when we were ther it shut around 4pm. There is also a take away section at one end of the tea room offering ice cream etc.

terrible! Waited ages for an ice cream which ended up being half a scoop. Owner practically measured how much ice cream he put on cone. Would never come here again. Ended up paying 20p extra for decent sized ice cream shocking!!

Had a wonderful vintage cream tea yesterday in the fabulous Holly House, 3/4/18, well worth a visit it was our second time it’s dog friendly and the food is the best, try the vintage cream tea, you won’t be disappointed, already looking forward to our next visit, thank you Holly House x

Holly House does not have many tables, which is a shame as everything is great. Firstly the staff are fabulous and really want to help. The food is fresh and tasty and finally it is dog friendly.

My family took me here. we didn't pre book. fantastic service. polite staff and the cream tea with cake and sandwiches were fantastic. all tasted home made. we will be back.

We arrived at Cheddar Gorge early on a cold Sunday morning and made Holly House our first stop of the day to warm ourselves with a hot chocolate and a bite to eat.

A lovely, quaint tea room. It's small, with few tables, but the service is great and the food is delicious, with good sized portions.

We stopped here for lunch on a flying visit to the gorge. I cannot think of a warmer, quainter venue in Britain - Holly House is chocolate box stuff, full of chintz and teapots and pretty pastels.

Stopped off in Cheddar this morning on way home from Brean in the hope of finding some breakfast. As my daughter is coeliac, we do struggle to find places on a whim sometimes. We couldn't have found a better place, what a find! Gluten free sausages with scrambled egg on gluten free toast, perfect! She could have had a gluten free scone or icecream cone if she'd wanted as these were also on the menu. Myself and my husband opted for the full breakfasts which were delicious as was the loose leaf tea and coffee to go with them. Would thoroughly recommend and will be returning again soon.

Despite being quite busy the service was really quick. The deluxe milkshake was fantastic - great bonuses but also a freshly made milkshake. All our food was homely and delicious (soup, jacket potato, bacon sandwich and panini). Would really recommend going there again.

I have been here several times over the years and the service just gets better and so does the food! Especially the coronation chicken and the ice creams are to die for, and so much of whooping scoop for your money is fab!
