Hogarths in South Tyneside

Reasonable prices, only been in the afternoon, plenty of space, older clientele on the afternoons, children not allowed,no food served

No atmosphere but it was only 7pm

Decent pint reasonably priced but very quiet, only six other customers in when my party of six arrived at 9.00pm probably down to the fact the DJ plays music to suit teenagers (bang bang bang) all night when the average age of the clientele must have been over 50 years old, we often call in for one, unfortunately it's the same every week so we don't stop.

Used to be a quality gin bar then started doing bubblegum flavour and went down hill and is now an old man's pub where you can watch sorts

Went in for a couple of drinks as part of a hen party. Excellent service and atmosphere. My one criticism would be the disabled toilet, wasn't particularly clean and stank of pee. Apart from that, great place for a drink.

Good bar service but tormented by short girls the hole time we were there 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Gin cocktails were great until my fiancée noticed that there was around 10 to 15 fruit flies in each drink,, they did offer to replace this. But we were disgusted

Fantastic pub would not go any where else in south shields got everything you want in a pub cheap pints and all sports and lovelly bar persons serving .

Made the mistake of going here on sat night around 7. The music noise could be heard down the street and ended up just using their loos and going elsewhere.

Decent pub. Good prices. Great for a bit of a dance.

Didn't have food so can't comment on that... As yet... As a good vibe about the place and was clean... Serviced quickly and with a smile...

Decide to pop here for a drink, I found the female staff member very helpful, oday I had for got my key to disabled toilet,and she helped me get there, loved her for that, I can believe this place will get seriously busy during weekends, but I feel that this pla e has a regular crowd (local) still not to be missed.. HOGARTH is placed between the ship and weatherspoons ,I wld recommend here as it is slap bang in middle of sheilds (south) have a beer x

Got served a flat pint and once I took it back he just poured it into another glass and said it looks fine

Fine for inexpensive drinks and sport on their many screens, though very busy weekends. Not tried the food.

I couldn't rate food as its a sports/ drinks bar and doesn't have food..but staff were really informative helpful and friendly..drinks were great value and atmosphere was fantastic..

Basically like a Wetherspoons. Insanely cheap round though at £13 for 4 pints.

Well maintained, clean and reasonably priced

Bar staff were excellent and really quick. Disappointed that there were no ales but Madri hit the spot. An enjoyable afternoon watching the horse racing.

Big pub, perfect for watching football on multiple TVs including a big screen. 4 pints for just over 12 quid too which is considerably cheaper than down south.

Best pub in shields. Super cheap, Beautiful deco and back garden. The staff are the friendliest I've met and have become good friends with some. With me a regular for a long time coming that's for sure.

Attended here with my wife who is 28 years old, she had photographic evidence of her passport containing her passport. We were turned away and embarrassed in front of other customers. Beware if you under 40 make sure you take your passport or driving licence if you have them.

Had the mozzarella & salmon Starter which was tasteless and poor. Far too much mozzarella on the plate and the tiniest amount of salmon plopped on top of parma ham, which was weird! On to the Main course and I chose the mixed grill hanging skewers....lovely I thought very little meat on both as what the the restaurant do is put more tomatoes & peppers and chunks of lemon on the skewers to make up for the lack of meat. I actually put a whole piece of lemon into my mouth thinking it was chicken!! Now I paid £26.90 for the 2 courses and feel a bit cheated if I'm being honest...I was still hungry when I left!! Overall very disappointed as had been about a year or so ago and enjoyed it then but seems to have gone down hill. There are better restaurants in South Shields to visit imo.

It's what I expect from Hs, decent enough,will always pay a visit.

No covid distenceing, mangerment have no clue, badly run, only interested in profits, at weekends when the younger crowed get there, all gathering outside in large groups, hugging and kissing, no security on door, no wonder covid is riseing, places like this do not help matters

Hogarths in my view is a good pub being badly run by a management who are petrified by government legislation which noeone understands fully

Very slow to take table orders and slow on sanitising the tables.
