Absolutely trouble free music, food and drinks. Bar on a Saturday night can be a little bit over subscribed but overall a great experience. Book a table to guarantee one when you arrive.

Very unsociable host seating us at the table. The lady who received us at the door was quite nice. However, her colleague who actually sat us dow was very rude. We asked if we could seat on the other empty side of the table which was not even reserved but she kept us facing back to the concert we payed to watch. The food orders were announced to be taking place until 7:45pm. We arrived at 7:00 pm and the food stalls were already starting to close!

It was FREEZING COLD!!! Went to see Slims and even he had to admit it was freezing. Love the layout though.

Food was nice atmosphere was great too. (They had a comedy show on) Seats in the smoking area made it a bonus. There's a quite little bar in a small room barmaid Sinead was great nice and friendly service with a smile Definitely a place I will go back to

Great mixture of food stands, live music and bars

A Couple of friends were visiting Birmingham for the weekend and staying at mine. I must have suggested at least 4-5 different restaurants which only left us confused as they wanted to go to all of the restaurants but of course we can't. so the hockey social clubs sprung to mind they can both eat entirely different foods. They can drink the drink of their choice. The one thing I hadn't planned for and was an absolute delight was the DJ followed by a live band absolutely marvellous.

Really great atmosphere, live music (was a little bit loud for my taste, but was really cool vibe). Food was delicious but they had already run out of a lot of items. Quite a limited selection, especially if you have dietary restrictions. Would visit again though. Loads of great cocktails and more than one bar!

Sadly I don't have any photos of food from this venue as we were out with a group and I didn't want to make a big deal about it. What I can say is I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. It's basically in industrial type setting with 3 (or 4) different kitchens in there, plus a bar, live music and both seating areas inside and out. There was parking directly outside and has wheelchair access. This is definitely a place to sit and enjoy a few drinks, share food and snack away but there wasn't any rowdiness. I really enjoyed it and will absolutely be back!!!!

Lovely venue, very chilled vibe. Food choices are amazing. Our choice was Dan Lee's superb food. Baileys Guinness went down a treat, too. Toilets could be better, but they are clean. Great band playing and DJ's afterwards. All in all, we really enjoyed it there. Looking forward to going again.

Love the feel of this place. All the vendors they bring in for music, food, and entertainment are fantastic! Go to the bar before you finish your drink because you'll be waiting a while even with all the bartenders they have. Only other qua is a personal one. It's too hot inside with all the food going and people. Get a breeze going! Especially on the nice summer days! Please, thanks!

This place is seriously good, I've been a few times now and the vibe is always top notch, the street food never disappoints and the drinks are always flowing. I love how culturally diverse it is in there, all ages, races, genders, everyone just comes together to have a good time. The variation of live artists they have in the place is always fun to see. A definite reccomend!

Nice enough atmosphere to sit and enjoy a drink. Live music was great but can be loud, so not best place to have a conversation. Food is limited, I thought there would have been way more of a selection, but mostly just chicken dishes. Food is expensive for what it is, and wouldn't say its worth the money. Drinks aren't cheap either. Overall it was an enjoyable night with friends, but wouldn't really go back again.

🎚 personality vs character 🎼 Given the interesting options, we decided to share a few dishes between us. The decision paid off as all the dishes were well-prepared & rather tasty, if slightly expensive. The music was varied & pretty decent. Staff were friendly and the lady on the door was a definite winner (partially blurred pics aside 📀🙄). It's a pleasant place, the decor has personality, consoles are a good idea (only one controller for Street Fighter on the super nes tho?), dining is enjoyable, however: despite the on-trend moniker, I'm unsure how much of a "club" element it fosters. People tend to speak and eat exclusively with those who accompanied them, rather than mingling & chatting to those nearby. In fairness, I had a pleasant interaction with a lady at the bar early on, although our paths did not cross again for the rest of the night. Ultimately, I guess there's a difference between sparking a modicum of interest via the odd quirk, and having enduring appeal: what one might call a little personality, and genuine, mature, depth of character; fundamentally being of substance. Maybe it just feels a little too commercial, I'm not altogether sure, but somehow, it seems to lack that "edge", that bit of "je ne sais quoi"... For now though, like the gaffer says, "Because you are a character doesn't mean that you have character..." 🐺☝🏾 edit: Artum - excellent: good sound system, great DJs, good dimensions to generate a party atmos, bar staff on point (though not always sufficient numbers). Main area - decent eating options, good entertainment, music at times too loud so u have to shout/ spit at one person at a time 🗣️⛲️

Excellent place to visit, eat, meet & enjoy. Great bands & very reasonable prices plus lovely staff & good food. What more can 1 ask for? Make sure to experience The Hockley Social!

Nice place, good atmosphere but food undercooked and jerk chicken gave me food poisoning. Would recommend other food stalls instead.

waited to be served at the bar only for the ignorant bar staff to just keep serving people who kept coming after we were waiting and waiting even when I caught the eye of the bar staff they still ignored me so I went with my wife without getting a drink...no thanks

Food was amazing, good selection of drinks and the DJ was playing old school hip hop what more could you want.

Really great place for live music on Fridays; and street food vendors are great. The selection is varied and should cater for most people. Its a very relaxed atmosphere, dress as fancy or as casual as you like too.

Great atmosphere, especially on a warm Sunday afternoon. Food was fantastic, we had a great selection from Chef Dan lee, bad boy wings and west midlands Jerk. Service was amazing and all the staff were very friendly. To top it off, they had a little bit of nostalgia with a retro gaming section which was soo cool. Will definitely be going back.

Booked a couple of tables for my sisters birthday. What a great place,people from all creeds and all walks of life all together in an atmosphere that is just nice,laid back & welcoming. This place is the future of 'going out' to quite a few of us Brummies now. Nice,local food,great DJ's playing cool music and a live band from 9pm! Take your kids,your parents, grandparents,you can even take your dog! Really nice staff too,ready to help 👍🏼

Went Sunday for Jazz DJ's nice and busy, bar staff were rushed off their feet. Great music by the DJ, food from Dan Lee one of the vendors was fantastic. Great mix of nice people all ages. Wished they still sold Asahi or Peroni on draft, Overall very good value, highly recommended

Really really fun place to hang with your mates or family. I went there on a Saturday when they were selling records and it was very interesting. Would definitely recommend for big groups. Although it has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, the music was way too loud, and I could barely hear the people talking next to me. Tip for big groups: BOOK A TABLE BEFORE YOU COME because it gets really busy and is difficult to get good seats (learnt this the hard way)

Always a joy to visit, great food from a changing line up of vendors, good choice of drinks at the bar, Sunday Markets, DJs and live music.

It's a nice place to hang out, that's for sure, the atmosphere is very good, plus the music of varying genres, it all adds to the experience.

Bar service was very poor,as it was early. Jerk chicken was edible.

Great venue if you are looking to meet up with friends for good night out live bands and in house dj's keep the atmosphere warm with various genre's of music different street food options are also on offer well worth exploring with a group of friends 🧡

Another great night at the Hockley Social Club. Food was nice, the bar in the corner had 241 cocktails until 7pm and the margarita was amazing! DJ on to start before the live band. Sat on some sofas and felt like I was at home. Really enjoyed and will be back again.

Came for a Jazz event, first Sunday of every month and free to attend, and it did not disappoint! Great vibes and knowledge sharing between all the age groups and people just joining in the dance jam and some just sitting and enjoying the ambience. Highly recommend and will be going again myself.

Very nice social club. It was poetry night so it was nice to ear all young pepole declaiming their poems. The host Stephanie was also very nice to ear.

I came here on a Saturday afternoon. The place was relatively empty at this point which wasn't a concern. I felt that given the amount of local breweries around, they should have had a wider variety of beers on offer; it was just your bog standard offering on tap. They do have a separate cocktail bar but we weren't ready for cocktails at that point. I was a little disappointed by the food offering. I thought it would be a similar set up to what Digbeth Dining Club used to be but there were only 5 food places and on three of the vendors the dishes were all expensive and consisted mainly of chips with meat. We opted for the Asian food which was very nice but nothing extraordinary. I'd like to come back for one of the evening events as I know they do live music but I wouldn't return especially for the food. I didn't bring my dog on this occasion but it was nice to see some pooches at the venue! Overall, I wasn't hugely impressed which is a shame because Digbeth Dining Club used to be so great!

Nice place with good music and food. The biggest downside was how loud the music was. If the floorspace was for dancing‌, it would make more sense. But the floor space is filled with large tables for friends to meet and enjoy food. But you can't even hear the person next to you shouting as the music is so loud! Otherwise, the premise is nice with food vendors changed regularly.

AVOID The smokehouse UK - They left me feeling completely cheated, can’t believe the price for what you are served. No photos on the stand of the food portions and I judged via their pictures on social media posts on facebook which are completely misleading. £12-£13 for a few (5-6) Aldi quality ribs measuring roughly 7cm that were gone in seconds. they try and plump it out with a slice of bread, Heinz tasting BBQ beans, a bit of coleslaw and a waffle... Wish I had observed other orders before making a purchase but there was nobody buying from them which should have been a realisation in itself. This is an example of how some use the ‘prices have gone up’ excuse to charge extortionate prices for what is a very simple and small portion. Completely failed to deliver, avoid this vendor unless you don’t mind getting ripped off and left feeling hungry and unsatisfied. Rest of the vendors portion sizes seemed more reasonable however still expensive for what you receive. The atmosphere was the only good part from my time here but not enough to make me want to return.

We had a great night! The food was fab, great selection of drinks (husband v happy with beer choices!), and friendly,helpful staff. There was live music when we were there which was excellent. We're not local but would definitely come again! Sorry if I have the name wrong (my hearing is not great!) but Amma (woman on the door with trench coat) was superb. She was on top of everything, making sure every single person was having a great night. The staff really go over and above.

Absolutely fantastic night last night. Great band, great atmosphere. What a great diverse and relaxed environment. I took two friends from my old home town and they loved it. We will definitely be doing it again.

Was brought here by a close friend not having any clue it previously existed. Walked here through what can only be described as a de-militarised zone. Was not expecting this oasis when we arrived. Huge venue. Lots of space for families and kids too. Big bar area and lots of staff milling about. Just had a great, friendly welcoming vibe to the place. Decor was on point. However, I did have to drop stars for the food... The venue had onsite "street food" catering. There were 3 food vendors there when we visited. I opted for a "mixed grill" from Cleopatra's Kitchen. Was expecting a decent sized plate considering I paid £14 for it. I mean - 14 notes in any other average pub around here would get you a good amount of meat. What turned up was massively underwhelming for the money; I got 2 measly sheikh kebabs, 2 small pieces of chicken and around 10 fries hidden under some brightly coloured foliage. Definitely will not be purchasing from that vendor again and would not recommend them. However, Hockley Social Club itself was a great visit. And I would heartily recommend a visit.

Big warehouse type bar with street food vendors that rotate. Bar staff mostly cheerful and try and serve in order. Friday night not overly busy, Saturday night and Sunday afternoons have been busy when I've been there. Place for all ages and pets allowed. Music changes styles and have guest singers, musicians.

This place is over rated to be honest. Not in the safest part of Birmingham, very run down area. It is a converted large godown, with a drinks counter, music playing, live band at times? (Not when I was there), 4 food stalls. Drinks are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is great including sitting in the outside area. Food is very very mediocre and hyped up. I go falafel with 2 strips of grilled halumi cheese, £13 in a bowl. Falfel was not cooked properly. The other counters were serving carribean, burgers and korean? There were all prepared beforehand and served from hot boxes. There are better places, indeed try Hen and Chicken nearby.

We had high hopes before this visit .. loved the digbeth dining experience .. but when we turned up .. there were only four different vendors and to be honest it all felt a bit shabby .. might of caught it on a bad day I guess? ... Herbert's yard at Longbridge is streets ahead for me ...

The staff are useless, not a single person in the place wants to works, went in there on a non busy Friday night, could count the amount of people in the bar on one hand, stood at the bar for 20 mins and ended up walking away, won’t be returning and will be telling anyone I associate with to not attended because the staff are a shambles and would rather talk between themselves and laugh than serve anyone whose willing to spend the heir hard earned money in there.

First time there and we wasn't disappointed. Staff were lovely and friendly so ofcourse the service was great. 4 of us ate and drank various food and beverages and no complaints. Nice atmosphere.

Fabulous atmosphere, there always a welcoming feel,the music is usually loud, it’s dog friendly, there’s always amazing quality food and you can try as much as you like. Whether you’re a couple of people or a group, there’s suitable seating and atmosphere for everyone. We love the relaxing way we can just turn up, eat and go. It’s usually easy enough to park nearby if not right outside.
