Outstanding fish and chips! Visiting from abroad, lots of walking so a quick stop was the best decision in this bustling area. Oh, and did I mention the AMAZING Layla, she was attentive, smiling brightly, and even offered suggestions for nice spots to hang for good music. I WILL BE BACK!!

I visited this place hoping to find the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Maybe my expectations were too high, but while the cod was decent, it wasn’t outstanding. The chips, on the other hand, were excellent. However, everything could have used a bit more salt. The service and atmosphere were amazing. I’d recommend this place if you’re looking for good fish and chips—just not necessarily the best.

We got haddock fish, it was not seasoned at all. Calamari fried rings, they were good.

I recently tried the fish and chips, and it was absolutely delicious! The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, while the chips were golden and fluffy. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and tasty experience.

I don't understand the high rating because the fish is very oily and the fries are undercooked. The price is equally outrageous. In addition, the waiters strongly insist at the end of the meal on giving the restaurant a good rating, even going so far as to provide a QR code... This produces the opposite effect.

Iconic stop if you’re in London. We got the vegan fish and chips and we were so impressed by the portion size and flavor. We loved the table set up with the malt vinegar, ketchup and mayo to pair with your meal. They are very busy but their staff is efficient and helpful. Worth it! We also got the sticky toffee pudding and loved it.

I recently visited Hobson’s Fish & Chips in SoHo, London, and had the most amazing gluten-free meal! As someone with celiac, it can be really tough to find safe and delicious gluten-free options, but Hobson’s absolutely exceeded my expectations. Their gluten-free fish was crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked — you’d never know it was gluten-free! The gluten-free onion rings were equally fantastic, crunchy, and full of flavor. The care they take to ensure a great gluten-free experience is impressive. If you’re in SoHo and need a safe, tasty gluten-free meal (or just love great fish and chips), this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Had a lovely cod fish and chips served by Shalini. She greeted us with a smile and brought our food pipping hot. I definitely recommend this spot for a great fish and chips.

Appalling service. Just wanted fried fish and sweet potato fries. "No, that's separate orders" What do you mean? Eventually I accept the weird logic and pay the substantially higher price. Then I go to sit at a table. "No. Pay extra to sit." So having fleeced me for the meal they want to fleece me again to sit at a very basic table. This is fish and chips. It ain't fine dining! So I ask for my money back, which introduced more fuss. At no point did anyone have the sense to say, "Ok, just sit. You're good." No, they'd rather let a sale walk out the door. I'll never go there again.

When we arrived it was busy so we had to wait for a table which is no problem. The service at this point was nice and the waiters did their best to free tables as soon as possible to get everybody seated. From the point that we got seated the experience went from OK to bad. We ordered fish and chips and a bottle of water. No tap water but a normal bottle of water. After a while we noticed that the other tabel that ordered after us already got their beers. So we had to ask again for our water. After this we received a dirty bottle of tap water. So we had to ask again for our bottle of flat water. After this we received sparkling water. So we had to ask again. Then we received the fish which was about average. The chips as wel. When we asked for the bill the waiters let us wait about 20 minutes because it was more important to clean tables first. Note that at this point nobody was waiting for an table anymore and the shop was not busy at all. When we told about our experience we got a simple sorry from a waiter who for my idea couldn't have cared less about our experience. I would not recommend this spot to anyone.

Hate to write reviews like this... Food was overpriced and small portions. 3 waitresses were clueless about the allergen menu and almost served my partner dairy, despite reminders to all 3 she had a severe allergy. Not a great experience, would not recommend.

Nothing good here...it's greasy, the waiters are really novices, and the queue to be seated...I was expecting something else...

I have a bad dairy allergy and asked three different waitresses for the allergen menu, they said they didn't have one and to tell them each food item I wanted and they'll ask the chefs. Came back and said everything I'd asked about was dairy free, I felt a lil worried as there was no proof, went to their online website and found the allergen menu that they didn't say about or refused to give me and found that the gravy I had ordered has in fact got dairy in. Thank god I checked as I could have been really unwell. When I told her about this one of the waitresses denied again it having dairy in and I told her it says it on the allergen menu. She said she'd cancel it and that was that. I told her she really needed to be careful as people with an even worse allergy that me could have been seriously hurt but she didn't understand or apologise. Really really not a good experience, was like pulling teeth out asking for a allergen menu, I asked three different people very clearly that I had a bad dairy allergy and I needed the menu and each time they said no. If you have an allergy this isn't for you. Very disappointed and sad, had been wanting to try this for a while. Alongside this, very expensive for a chip shop and small portions, not even more than two handfuls of chips. Overall very sad.

Had fish (cod) and chips. Fish was cooked but tasteless and partly mushy, how does that happen! Fries were dried out lacked flavor even when salted. Cole slaw and spinach was very good

It was our first try, we tried the fatty haddock. Even though I don't normally eat fish, I found this delicious and ate it quickly. The Turkish friends working in the business were polite and caring. The service and taste deserve five stars. The price was a bit expensive, we paid 40 pounds for 2 fish chips and 2 half beers for two people.

Don't understand how people can think it's such a great place. I give the staff is a big plus, good service, but the food was tasteless. Ate a regular fish and chips. There was a thick layer of skin on the bottom and the fries were soft. The daughter took the gluten-free version and thought it only tasted like oil. Can't recommend unfortunately. The atmosphere was very crowded and loud.

I went to the walk-in. Did you wait about 15 minutes? The menu is like this. Without looking at anything, I chose fish + with chips from the originals. Most fish are either cod or haddock. I used haddock, which I saw a lot of reviews on (both are cod, so what's the difference?) It's not very spacious, but even if you come alone, they organize seating for you so you don't feel embarrassed. The taste is like the French fries are thick and the fish is crispy fried. Try local fish and chips! As per the Google rating of 4.6, there was no fishy taste at all and it just tasted like fried food.

They're perfectly fine, but I don't understand the hype because they're not that good. And paying SEK 85 for a tip is sick.

The London food I don't think I'll eat it again. Is the reason it's rated so high because it's what Westerners like?

Wanted to try a british staple and it wasnt bad but nothing special either. The service was chaotic, we noticed that the staff is not assigned to a table so you try to get the attention of any server… youd be lucky if you do, they’re good at pretending to not see you. Line gets super long but thats because the servers also have the responsibility of cleaning the table and drying the dishes. So you’d be standing there for awhile even if there are plenty of tables you can sit at.

We had the veggie burger and the Vegan Fish and Chips with Mushy Peas and both really enjoyed our meals. Our waitress Rimpal was very friendly and even made sure the Mushy Peas were vegan after I had asked about it. We‘ll definitely come back here when we are in London again! 🌞

Very nice place! I tried the gluten-free version of fish and chips. There's nothing to complain about, the frying is very good. The portions are generous. I'm removing a star because the fries are not exceptional: too big, too soft, a little stuffy. But otherwise great experience, I could come back with joy!

The service was really good with staff very friendly but even if the mushy peas was good, it was not included and it should be obviously. The fish was good but chips really dry. It's very expensive for what it is compared to other restaurants. Hopefully next vist will be better.

Tourist trap unfortunately so I really would avoid it unless you've got American tastebuds. Batter went soggy really quickly, chips were average, amount of tartar sauce was a joke, and price was absolutely obscene. £48 for two fish and chips and a can of drink. Daylight robbery for such mediocre food.

We were looking for the best fish & chips - and everyone (3 adults + 2 children) really enjoyed it. We hadn't made a reservation, so we had to wait a few minutes until a table for 5 people was available. After that, everything went very quickly - the service was extremely friendly and pleasant, the food was freshly prepared, but the waiting time seemed rather short to us , the wine accompaniment harmonized perfectly with the fish, and even when we wanted to pay, things went very quickly. It was a successful evening for all of us and even weeks later we can still feel the taste of the wonderful, freshly prepared fish & chips.

This restaurant is very beautiful and cozy, with a view of the street and internally more decree. The wait staff are friendly and kind. They help you choose your meal, explaining very calmly and are patient with the difficulty of understanding the spoken language. This place is really worth visiting.

Really good fish and chips. I found the batter to be a bit thin. I personally prefer a thicker batter and slightly less thickness of fish. Fries were also OK. The curry gravy was awesome! If you get takeout it’s about £6 less.

Fish and chips were great, a very good example of a traditional meal. The deep fried mars bar was also very good. Onion rings were good. Skip the sticky toffee pudding, it's awful. Service was slow but fine.

If you want to eat real fish and chips in London I recommend you stop by Hobson's. Quality food and helpful staff. The only flaw is that the room is a bit small and narrow.

It is a perfect place in London if you want to enjoy gluten-free Fish & Chips. The service is very friendly and attentive. Although the place was very full, we didn't have to wait too long.

My 12 year old daughter and I are fans of fish & chips and this is the best we have found in the neighborhood. We tried another better rated one yesterday but very disappointing and much more expensive. So we come back here like last year and the fish & chips are EXCELLENT, the fish tender and the homemade fries delicious (at a very reasonable price €17.95) The atmosphere is nice, the music is great We were served quickly, very appreciable In short, I highly recommend (rather than others with a better rating!) and will come back

The food was excellent, the place does not look promising but the food is actually worth it

Unfortunately, this store didn't suit my taste. I found both the fish and the fries to be quite greasy. It was tasty, but not edible for me in the quantity served. We also ordered the feta salad, which unfortunately disappointed us. There were only a few crumbs of feta on the salad, it must have been 15-20 grams of feta. A bit embarrassing for a salad that bears that name. But the staff gets the biggest deduction. This was rather unfriendly and unavailable. Even though there were a lot of staff milling around, we had to search with pleading looks for someone who wanted to give us their attention. One young woman from the team looked at us stupidly from the side because we obviously didn't live up to her expectations of being addressed - we are tourists and don't have to speak her native language as well as she does. And if you want to give a tip on how to do it better should do, then it's definitely better and nicer the way she did it. All in all a bit disappointing for me.
