Fantastic pub, with polite, friendly staff, decent atmosphere and drinks, food although only had small plates was cooked just right,would highly recommend

We held our wedding reception here. Everyone was so impressed with the room. It was decorated to perfection. Jo ,Hayley and the team were amazing. They couldn't do enough for us. The day and evening was picture perfect! Overall great experience. Highly recommend for a special event. Brilliant local pub with such great staff. Very clean, the garden area is beautiful. Just a perfect day all round.

Due to roadworks all over solihull we decided to stay local and visit the Hobs Meadow for lunch. My Heineken was served in an ice cold glass, Much appreciated on a hot day. There are lots of specials and we decided on two mains for £14 Lovely fish and chips and a pie and mash. Comforting food all round. Nice bar person Will return

I visited the pub and was pleased to say that the food we had was of a decent quality and good value for money. The pub was quite busy with a friendly atmosphere.

Since new management I have enjoyed working at this pub and look forward to coming in for my shift. Most if not all customers have drastically changed attitude and have mentioned how lovely it is to have a wonderful and caring manager for this pub.

Went in to the garden with the children which used to be lovely there was broken glass everywhere old food wrappings absolutely filthy never even finished our drinks DISGUSTING

On 15.11.21 I held a wake at the Hobs Meadow Pub. The choice of food was excellent both hot & cold dishes were provide. Far too much food for us all to eat! At a stressful time it was easy to arrange the wake, I spoke to Lucy & it was all organised. We were given a quiet area to occupy so we could easily move about & chat. Very good value, the staff were all kind & helpful and just no hassle.

This is the place for quality food, excellent service. Staff are very polite & friendly. Would highly recommend to everyone.

This place doesn’t even deserve a star. Bunch of scammers. Ever since we went to this place my husband has issues with his card and all sorta of dd are being set without his knowledge. Obviously no one admits nothing. Do not let them touch or even see your bank card and if you already did go through all of your transactions. Absolutely disgusting.

Arrived for a reggae music evening. Charged £11.40 for 2 Bacardi and coke, my friend was charged £6.95 for a martini. There were 4 of us but we left after 1 drink. Not being ripped off the same night I went to Solihull town centre and 2 drinks cost me £6 . It is a pub in a side street not in a city centre. We will not return to this pub

Was refused entry into their beer garden as I'm exempt from wearing a facemask. Felt totally discriminated against and the lady at door had no interest in what I was saying. First and last time I'll be visiting. Left a review on Facebook which they have deleted and I have written them an email about my experience and as I thought no reply. So, if you have a hidden disability and can't wear a mask you will be discriminated again so take your custom elsewhere.

We came here after a skate. Had a lovely meal with the kids. The young lady Emily was on her own and was doing a great job of keeping things ticking over. The food was great value and it was really nice. Had a brief chat with Emily outside, all hospitality are struggling right now and it’s so nice to see staff still being upbeat and welcoming to new guests. We will visit again!

Glad they have a quiz back on, I've missed it since the spring. They laid on free food last Tuesday during the quiz which was nice of them. Hope they see an increasing custom and a quiz longevity.

I took my disabled brother for a quick drink at the Olton Tavern. We were meet by a very pleasant bar maid on a Monday night.

We visited the hobs meadow when we arrived it was really quiet,so we ordered our food they seemed to be short staffed,anyway our food arrived which was lovely no complaints,so then we decided to have puddings went to order them no problem thought they wouldn't take long so we waited and waited kept asking yeah they are doing them,then when I asked again she said I did tell you half and hour wait and she didn't then 50 minutes later we got them she threw the spoons on the table and said sorry which wasn't sincere,overall lovely food but poor service will never return here again as service from Claire was horrible

Attended for a family get together, was served quickly at the bar although was busy,food was hot and fresh an also came quickly. We had a screaming 1 yr old an the manager was ace at keeping him distracted whilst working on the floor. Staff were great. Over all the service was ace, the special burgers are great an will definitely be returning. Beer garden is ace aswel, has climbing frame an grass area and my older boy of 6 loved it.Happy customers see you soon

Use this place regular and overall I really enjoy it staff are usually great funny friendly and attentive to the needs we have, however some occasions more recently have been disappointed, one barmaid is great don’t think I’ve seen anyone work as hard as she does in any other pub I’ve visited especially when working alone at really busy intervals, also the manager/owner is very very friendly kind and generous, during a very busy day over the weekend I asked a young staff member who brought our food out why wasn’t there more staff on such a busy day however I wasn’t rude ,to which she replied “ I don’t no anything,the bar staff are always left alone, sometimes I’m dumped on the bar with no training whilst not old enough and left alone and punished when I then make a mistake” I was so saddened and taken aback that such a busy friendly pub on the outside are treating staff with this attitude I hope this is sorted soon as otherwise I can’t fault this but slavery was abolished moons ago and feel it needs a mention

I have never been here before, not even in it’s previous state. I noticed it being renovated last year and thought I would come and have a beer as there was a band on. The place is lovely inside. Light and airy with a very clean appearance. I didn’t have any food whilst here but there are deals on. A nice atmosphere and very clean and tidy.

The pub clean, good atmosphere, friendly staff and the food was amazing. Would recommend 10/10. Good outside area with climbing frame for children.

I visited the Hobs meadow after attending a ice hockey game. The pub was clean, the young girl behind the bar was very polite, smiley and welcoming. The food we had was brilliant. The member of staff that was working ensured that she checked upon us after we received our food to check it was all ok. Good atmosphere on a busy Saturday afternoon. Will 100% be returning!

Have have recently moved to the local area and this is my local pub. I have visited on 3 occasions now and on all three occasions I was not impressed at all. The atmosphere isn’t welcoming at all, on the first occasion I went with my family for a meal. Our experience was really bad, they didn’t have the full menu due to lack of ingredients. It took ages for the starters to come they didn’t have any salsa to go with the nachos that the kids had but was not told, we then waited 35 mins for the main meals to come out, I had to ask where the food was and it then finally came. One of the meals I ordered was an all day breakfast, it was not what was described, which I was not informed about and the staff member didn’t even say anything on bringing it out. I asked why there were no beans especially as it’s not really a breakfast without beans, staff member said they would find out but never returned to tell me anything, the manager must have gone to the shop and brought beans as she came back with some but even then we were not offered the beans. This put me off the meal as it was not want was ordered and so I didn’t want it. Again we sat there awaiting dessert and plates were not collected in the end I had to go up and ask if the dessert could come out which I had ordered. I was told they would get them out, one of the staff members then came over to say that 2 of the desserts were not available even though I had ordered them ages ago. We then had to chose different desserts. At no point were we apologised to or offered a explaination or anything. I decided to give the place another try and went for a drink again it wasn’t a very welcoming atmosphere, I had my son with me, but I knew the rule of no kids after 9pm, the manager told me that I would have to leave at 9pm and I said that’s fine. I was then approached 2 times more,bearing in mind that it was only 8.30pm, to tell me I could not stay in the pub after 9pm, I explained that’s fine and that I knew as had already been told. I felt like I was no welcome in their with my son and after seeing the manager and a staff member ( I think brody or something like that) saying to another member of staff you will have to make sure she leaves, I decided at that point to leave as didn’t feel they wanted me there but my partner stayed. He then told me that the private function, one of the children had came in the bar area to dance after the 9pm curfew after making such a fuss for me to leave. I went in again one last time to have a quiet drink with my partner and again the atmosphere was very poor, this pub does not have customer service in any shape or form. The manager and some of the staff come across as if a bit up themselves. I feel I have given the place the Benefit of the doubt a number of times now but I will not be returning again. Very disappointed as has the potential to be such a warm welcoming pub/eatery but unfortunately the manager and some of the staff let the place down.

Used to live in walking distance from this pub and re-visited recently for an afternoon function which was held in a private room but spilled outside because of lovely weather.The place has been re-decorated and has reverted to a no charge car park.We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the buffet food (both hot and cold) we enjoyed was excellent in quality and presentation.We would be happy to return in the future as it was a great improvement on past visits.

Been here a few times since under the new management and the staff are always friendly, helpful and welcoming. We booked the function room for our daughters first birthday party and the Manager Paula was brilliant. The service was second to none and ran smoothly from the day we paid the deposit til after the actual event. The party was excellent the room and candy cart beautifully decorated, Paula and the staff went above and beyond and all our guests were over the moon from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble and the hot and cold buffet provided was excellent. They catered for vegetarians and vegans with a varied selection of foods. We even hired one of the pubs mascots which was a great hit with the kids. Bouncy castle hire as part of the party was straight forward too. Can't thank Manager Paula and the staff enough for everything. It was stress free for us from beginning to endDefinately recommend and we will continue to eat/ drink there when passing.

Me, my husband and our children found this pub a while back but decided to visit again recently whilst under the new management for Paula who is brilliant.

Was a time when your local was the community hub..The pub has a very large car park that is never full..but they don't want to you to use it even though it's mostly the people visiting the doctors next door..shame on you.

Came to look at this lovely place today for dinner. I had a burger with cheese and bacon. Which was very nice. And I ordered a side of onion rings which were proper onion rings. And not the onion bits in batter which I don’t like so I was pleasantly surprised. Good value for money. Monday night so not busy it’s got a lovely big garden area with child friendly playground. Very nice surroundings lovely food. My husband ordered a mixed grill. Good value too which he said was lovely and juicy. It just needed a bigger plate. Staff were friendly. Atmosphere nice and relaxing. Would recommend as meals are budget friendly.

First visit to this establishment..Nice décor and plenty of seating arrangements..After looking at the menu ordered our meals..Not a long wait before they came out not impressed the gammon ordered was like a piece of bacon. Taste was dry and salty other meals were so so...Coffee and a slice of cake for afters was very nice.. Not in a rush to go back....Staff need to smile more !

Having fairly good meals here in the past we dropped in for breakfast on Saturday.

Food is dull. Had a simple fish fingers sandwich which cost over £5. (Wow),. The beer (carling) is dead. Every time I go in there i have to ask them to change it. Then they say "what to"? Seriously. But that's after you wait ages for service. It's a piss take to be honest. It's only the regulars that keep it alive. Sorry but give your customers something to come back to and you could have a decent boozer. And drop the prices a bit we live in a tough time. CHEERS.

We advised to eat here with a group of family members and when we arrived we should have known very few cars in the car park. Ordered drinks and 2 of the drinks were wrong the server took them away and after 10 mins we had to go and find out why we had not got new drinks seemed she had forgotten we asked about service for food were told they would take our order after 10 mins we found out they would not take our order and was given paper and a pen that did not work to write our order out, some of the food was ok others were quite tasteless or so salty. Would not eat here again

Probably the worst beer and service in the area. Overpriced. Have drank in this pub for years and this is the worst it's been. Heating rarely works staff rarely care.

After a lovely Mother’s Day meal here last year where the Mother’s were greeted with a free glass of prosecco, we decided to celebrate there again. How different you wouldn’t have known it was even Mother’s Day! We were all disappointed with our meals. Everything was really well done. Especially the steak that we asked for rare!!

Attended breakfast with Santa with 16 family members.

Rubbish he did 50.mins. the beer is over priced and in very poor condition. Got the feeling he had been paid and didn't want to be there. So many people were disappointed. Pub going down again.

We dropped in for lunch on Friday. Have not visited here for a couple of years when it was a bit dowdy. A recent refurb has transformed the place. Well decorated and spacious.

Fantastic. This pubs seen some changes over the years, some good some average. Today - if your after a freshly cooked, ample portioned food in Solihull then this hits the mark. I enjoy eating out and this will be a place I'll be seeing again soon.

I have recently visited the hobs meadow and i am really confused about the review that was recently posted giving it 1 star as my experience was amazing.

We are regulars at this pub as it is a short walk for us and has good outdoor garden with kids play area which is great for our three children. Food has improved since previous review with a complete menu change and Is reasonably priced.

I used to love coming here since refurbished the decor and surroundings are lovely and staff polite but unfortunately I think for area its in with mainly families using it the menu is to posh and over priced for the area its located in would like to see a simpler and reasonable menu like the olton tavern they have it spot on put that menu or a similar menu at the hobs meadow would see more families eating here as last few times we have been in its been dead no atmosphere.

Para la comida pasó por aquí hoy y fue carne asada domingo exuberantes con todos los adornos frescos. Caliente y caliente también la perfección. No ellos la cena de carne del microondas fuera un buen conjunto. Sin duda que este es mejor que el culto local y más barato.

Fuimos con unos amigos y sus tres nietos y llevamos a nuestra nieta, ya que este pub tiene un jardín y una zona de juegos. Todos pedimos comida, conseguimos un poco confundido en las ofertas y finalmente fuimos para comida gratis para los jóvenes, que es una oferta muy buena. Todos comida llegaba al mismo tiempo y todo era muy bueno, especialmente por el precio, el personal muy atento y respondió a nuestras peticiones sin un problema, sin duda volveremos de nuevo.

Nuestra primera elección fue cerrado para pub reformas, así que pensamos que le daría el recientemente remodelado placas Meadow. Así que 10 de nosotros nos dirigimos allí.

Since the refurb this place is a lovely local. Service is prompt, food is tasty and reasonably priced.

Great value meal today with free prosecco for moms. Great choice of courses, plenty of fresh vegetables and piping hot. The customer service and quality of food seems to have improved immensely so will be returning. They now also offer a great lunch time menu at £7.00 for two courses.

We were visiting an elderly relative in the area and decided to pop out for a snack and after going to 2 pubs local to his home and there being no food sold on Mondays our relative (who was 90 years old) suggested travelling further afield to this pub. We drove there, went in, asked about food and we told they had a varied menu and to sit where we liked and they woukd come over to us. Within minutes we had drinks and menus. Good choice from main menu (various prices from £4 snacks to £15 steaks) which 2 of the party went for, myself and our relative opted for the 2 course choice special which was excellent value for £6.95. All courses came out quickly, beautifully presented and extremely tasty.

The hobs is a fantastic venue with great food and value for money. The 2 course meal for under £7 is plentiful. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and Zoe in particular was brilliant.Will definitely be returning!

Have been a few times since it was refurbished but have waited to see if standards were maintained- they are! good and surprisingly varied menu with all food freshly cooked to order, well kept beer and friendly staff in a very nice room - all in all a really good experience and has turned a "cheap and cheerful" venue ( see my previous review) into somewhere its really nice to have as your local. We were served by Zoe who was excellent throughout. Look forward to returning soon :)

Stopped in to Hobs Meadow for a bite to eat to discover a great looking pub with a fabulous team and warm welcome. I was pleasantly surprised to find a tempting two course set menu for only £6.95, which I would return for, but opted for a quick chicken and bacon salad and cappuccino. Both were excellent and served with a smile by Lucy on the bar.Noticed they now have live sports on screen and a big beer garden - all the more reason to come back, which I certainly will.

Despite the lovely refurbishment the pub is ruined by middle aged men shouting and swearing not a place for families

We hired the function room for my mother's 90th birthday party here in early December. In spite of giving in our registration numbers as required by Hobs Meadow, their machine did not register the numbers and all but two of the cars parked are now being pursued by Premier Park, who administer the parking, for £100 fines. The manager of Hobs Meadow has told us all to just ignore the fines as he is dealing with it, but when after six weeks with no rescinding of the notice I lost patience and appealed direct myself to Premier Park, they have denied my appeal. This is worrying as it appears that maybe they don't know that Hobs Meadow did take all our details, in spite of Tom the manager telling us they have informed them. Tom has not acknowledged my email of a week ago, so I don't know what to think at the moment. As Hobs Meadow have admitted this is entirely their fault, I can’t understand why they have not just paid the fines themselves as there are elderly people involved and my family is being pursued for over £1000 in total. I just wish we had never booked this place for our event. The food and service were good by the way, but I no longer care.

Since its been done out, everything is better. Avoided for ages as previous visits were awful. Menu is simple but lovely. Obviously got better chefs in now as we both cleared our plates and had dessert. Really impressed :)

Service very good, atmosphere very friendly, staff always very willing to help, food is excellent, tried most of the menu , only complaint I would make is a dessert I ordered last three times as not being prepared so had to order yet again another dessert, why have it on the menu a not prepare it, this as happened not long after they opened too now when I went some think wrong some where, told staff will speak to manager next time if happens again, its not put me off but needs sorting out.

From the initial phone enquiry to the actual party the staff were very professional, friendly and accommodating.The place itself it clean, welcoming and the patrons in the pub were very friendly. We were in the function room which was lovely, a good size and well equipped for various functions.The staff were given 22 children's meal and 5 adults main meals to prepare all at one time. The food came out all together, hot and came out a lot quicker than we expected considering the size of the order.All the staff were patient and friendly to the children (very important to me) and displayed very good customer service skills.You do pay for parking as soon as you go in but I got it validated on my exit. In conclusion with 22children and 10 Adults to accommodate, most establishments will crack under the pressure but the party was seemless and without a hitch, and that was in massively part to the staff. I will definitely be returning and would recommend it for small gatherings/functions. Merry Christmas to the staff

The renovations which have been done makes this a much more desirable place to eat, excellent interior layout more suitable now for wheelchair users, buggies & elderly as all on one level. Easy ramp access to front and lovely beer garden.The have opened up the function room to incorporate into the main eating area.The only let down was the shocking price increases of the meals and portions very small indeed for what you are paying for. Previously the place was rammed at lunchtimes with the older generation and young families yet when we popped in to check the place out today only a handful of customers. As for the parking fees you do get that back when you eat in (£2.00 for 3 hours).

Just thought I would warn everybody about the new hobs meadow. Ok, so they have done a great job with the refurbishment, the pub looks great and the food is reasonably priced and is decent. On this basis - I would have returned. I do however have to bring to your attention the parking scenario and customer service I received.They use a third party car park company. I used the restaurant a few Sunday's ago, paid £2 parking which covered the 53 minutes I was in the pub. I later received a parking ticket demanding £100. At first I thought this wasn't s problem, as CCTV and the data from the machine (you have to input your reg number in) will clear the fine so I appealed. They have declined the appeal and are demanding £100. When I called the pub, I spoke to an older lady who simply said we can't do nothing about it it's a third party company. How about get a new third party company? How about refunding the money we spent that day? How about paying the fine? I paid for my parking and yet I am being chased and threatened with debt collectors unless I pay the parking fine which I don't deserve! Even better.. I received it for parking there on a Sunday... And a post below states that you parking fees aren't even applicable on Sunday's so I fact I paid for no reason!!The service from the staff has been awful. I am upset and stressed over their attitude and have received no help or guidance at all around the parking. Please if you visit the pub either walk or park elsewhere.

We booked the private function room for my mother's 90th birthday and couldn't have been more pleased. Tom and the staff were very helpful at every stage even taking in birthday presents delivered in advance. We were able to be completely flexible about amounts ordered with the option of asking for more on the day. Drinks and glasses were all laid out on the bar for us to help ourselves to. I am always dubious about buffets in venues and have often been disappointed in them. We booked the £8.95 a head buffet and were very pleased with it. Everything was nicely presented and tasty. My only comment is that the sandwiches were mostly on white bread and I would have liked more on brown bread, preferably wholemeal and as always at buffets there were a lot of sandwiches left at the end and I would suggest making less per person.

We decided to visit this local pub which has recently been refurbished. We found the surroundings very pleasant and the service prompt. However my order for Cod and Chips was very disappointing. The huge amount of batter contained very little 'cod' ... just a stringy pieces of grey fish. The response from the kitchen to my complaint was that this was the normal portion of fish they serve....for £8.95! If that is the case I suggest you would be better served by either of the 2 local fish and chip shops. Needless to say this was our first and last visit.

Couldn't be bothered to cook so we popped into the Hobs Meadow. For some dinner. Well! What a great surprise. We had called in for a beer on a couple of occasions since the takeover and refurb, but the food er had tonight was excellent. Fillet of salmon and steak n ale pie were our choices. Salmon....excellent,k pie....excellent. Both served with fresh veg, not prepacked rubbish that's usually served by pubs. This is not the cheapest pub in the area , but the best by far for food quality.You get what you pay for.

I was in Solihull on business and had the pleasure to visit this lovely pub while there. It's recently been refurbished to a high standard inside and out. The menu is brilliant and the Hunters Chicken I ordered was fresh and delicious. The staff were very friendly and I got the impression that they would go the extra mile. All-in-all this is a fantastic pub and well worth a visit. Don't be put off by the parking arrangements - it's free if you ask the bar to validate your ticket.

Met friends for a drink here on bonfire night , nice decoration and realy enjoyed listening to the singer we stayed for 2 hours 20 mins , November 16th received a parking fine through the post for £100 pounds for parking on the pub car park.? Rang up to speak to manager who told me there where signs in car park ,told her I never saw one only to be told that the sign in the pub entrance was big enough to fall over . I explained that I had not fallen over any sign so it obviously wasn't, asked to speak to area manager and still waiting for a return call . There where four people in the car and not one of us saw or realised that we needed to pay.

After being regular customers over the years we have come back a few times since the refurb and have not been disappointed until today. We had Sunday roasts and was disappointed with the meal as it was very small for price plus our daughter had a childs meal and the beans that came with her meal were over cooked an uneatable. We were not asked until all our meals were eaten if all was on with our meals so no chance to advise on the poor quality of daughters meal.

Having visiting this pub for something to eat and drink following a family funeral my 2 daughter in laws both paid for the parking on a very large carpark with no one else on it !Unfortunately due to the sadness of the occasion they both over stayed the allotted time and were both fined £100 each. If this is the way the new owners treat their customers i fear they will not be in business for much longer

Huge car park but very few customers. Food expensive and poor quality. Our food came late and the chicken was chewy. Won't come back again

We went for lunch here after the revamp, we enjoyed it when it was 2468 and was pleasantly surprised how nice it is inside. It has been modernised and now feels much more like a gastro pub rather than a local pub with food. We ordered a piri piri chicken burger and a hunters chicken and they were both ok. Nothing wrong with them but nothing special. The burger was served on a wooden chopping board (which is a personal bug bare but that's because I disassemble all my food) and came with a side of piri piri sauce rather than it being on the burger. The sauce was cold, just out of the fridge cold. I don't know if this was how it was supposed to come but pouring cold sauce on a hot burger just made my food lukewarm. Both meals were tasty enough though.I'm not sure if I'd come back for food again, probably for a few drinks but that's it. There was nothing wrong, but nothing that made it better than the other pubs serving food around the area

sadly The Hobs Meadow has changed hands and menu....I would no longer recommend this venue (I did previously really enjoy my visits there) menu is not varied enough and is mor expensive...atmosphere has changed for the worst

We went here for an evening meal and were very impressed by the staff, the service and the place itself. The only thing holding it back from 5 stars, for me, is the limited menu. Everything on there looks lovely, but when you have finicky eaters, some plainer meals would be welcome. Everything we had, however, was really nice.

Recently refurbed, we arranged to meet a group of friends late afternoon. On arriving, I noticed as a blue badge holder that I had to pay £2.00 for 2 hours parking! This would have taken us through to 5.58pm! It did say that the ticket would be refunded on the first round. On arriving at the bar, I asked if they wanted us to leave by 6.00pm? The barman said I could always go and top up for another 2 hours for £2.00 but they wouldn't refund that! He said the parking company were hot on checking and issuing tickets.We had the 1 drink and left having called the rest of the group on way to divert to a more welcoming pub.Hobs Meadow seems to be a car parking racket which happens to sell beer!!!!

Excellent refurbishment - a super job done !That said - called - paid my parking fee - had a drink - and left !Was one of my local eating places - no longer !

Visited recently for the first time since the refurbishment. Interior decor is a big improvement over previous. Now feels clean and airy and I liked the fact they'd separated the bar from the seated area. Exterior is now looking cleaner and more inviting. Car park is pay and display but I believe your ticket is refunded if you purchase food or drink. Menu is a little more expensive than the previous offerings (around £7 to £11 more most of the main courses). Food was pretty good and staff service was perfectly acceptable for this type of establishment. Offers were being advertised for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday dining.Will certainly return at some point.

Decided to give the re-vamped pub a try last week with two of our friends. The pub is a lot brighter than the previous 2468. We arrived Wednesday night at 7.30 it's order your food at the bar then find a table, this wasn't difficult as there was only one other group eating. Food arrived within 20mins wasn't too impressed with my pie it was the size of an individual pork pie. We sat there having a social evening, then we noticed it was getting noisy and people were filling up the tables but they didn't seem to be eating. Then it happened a voice came booming over a mike reminding people to purchase there quiz tickets, it was quiz night. I found the answer to my question its a pub charging restaurant prices without the service, could have gone to a harvester for the same price. Won't be going again.

We visited Sunday 5pm , for the first time since the refurbishment . Overall we liked the new decor although we noticed certain areas ( mainly pillars near to our table ) were all ready looking very very shabby ? The new decor however did not help to create a nice dining ambiance although not full we found it to be very noisy. The food is an improvement on what it was before , but I think £10 for a 1 crs Sunday lunch & £9 for a Hunters Chicken at the Meadow is too much to ask for ,there are better & cheaper places to dine near by . Sadly we will not be using our local too often . Service and Staff :- Our food took 45 mins exactly to arrive and it was not busy , The staff were the best thing about our visit ,every single member seemed very friendly and helpful and many of them were very young ,so well done on that score .Nice to see smiley faces .

This place has been taken over by a chain and the decor inside is a vast improvement on the old place! It is huge as well, with different areas so you should be able to find a quiet spot. Service was friendly enough - all the staff are very young - and there is a great well priced drinks offer. The food however, left much to be desired. It wasn't terrible, and was pretty good value, but it was very average. If you just want a pub and drinks, then this is a good option, but maybe eat elsewhere. Also - you have to pay £2 for the car park, which is then refunded off of your drinks (they probably get sick of people using their carpark for the nearby parade of shops and takeaways!)

My husband and I went when it first opened and again yesterday family birthday 5 adults one grandchild and one baby. Again the food was a fantastic improvement on the old pub. Refurbishment in the latest style. Lovely, outside area with children play area. Average prices. Excellent selection of premium spirits. I will definitely be back again and will recommend to friends and family.Note to management team. Can you do something about the outside smoking area at front of house. Does not look good.

So we have lived near this pub for around 3 years now and never felt like going cause from outside looked so dirty and old; last week we decided to give it a go since it has been new refurbished and from outside looked much better. As we went in, we realised that we had to pay for parking which can be a bit annoying cause you have to keep remembering to come out and top up; you do get back your money when you order your meal/drinks. We found the place to be nicely done, fresh and clean; however after ordering our meal of 2 courses, service took around 45 min to arrive but without our kids main meals which they had to wait for another 45 min to get. In the meanwhile they had to nib on our meals as they were really hungry. When the main courses were done and was time for dessert we had to go and request for the desserts to be brought to us as non of the waitresses would bother in asking if we needed anything ( bear in mind the restaurant wasn't too busy, waitresses were even sorting straws at the bar area) so our desserts finally arrived, huge portions that again we had to share with our kids as theirs were nowhere to be seen, as we went to complaint at the bar one of the waitresses came and apologised for the delay, she said that orders had been misplaced and there had been confusion in the kitchen. Again, as we had waited a long time for the kids desserts we decided we had to go home. My husband announced at the bar that we were leaving cause we had been there already waiting for the kids desserts around 38 min, and their answer was a simple. Oh ok, which I believe is terrible!!! As result we will be never coming back to this pub and much less recommending it to anyone. Food wise the menu and food is very average, portions are small, desserts are massive. price wise one could be better off at any other more prestigious pub for the same amount of money. Service wise, it is perhaps the most disappointing experience I have had at any pub ever! and as dramatic as it might sound after 3 hours waiting for a full service to finish I consider it is not worth for anyone to come and have a meal at this pub, unless of course they have plenty of time for waiting. We wise, go somewhere else and avoid a bad experience!

We thought we would try the new Hobs Meadow - BIG MISTAKE - Whilst the decor is a massive improvement- walking past a dozen young lads smoking to get in set the tone of intimidation and unwelcoming. Ordered food, it wasn't busy but for some reason took an age to be delivered - approx an hour. When it did arrive average pub grub, that did not match what had been paid. Food was Luke warm and when we complained the waitress said she'd fetch manager who never came over. Very poor experience. Better pubs with better value in area..

Thought we would try the newly refurbished hobs meadow expect to pay for parking refundable at the bar . Ordered food and drinks service slow despite a lot of staff wondering around nice open bright colours and furnishings - food arrived after 25 minute wait well presented and good quality / for nice surroundings and a lot of money spent on improving the image just a shame to JLR overalls lowering a good image .

Have been visiting Hobs Meadow for 6 years because of Wednesday Quiz night. Was a little concerned with refurbishment that there would be no quiz night and food and drink prices would go through the roof. Pleasantly surprised. Realistic prices,food hot and delicious and Simon Quiz Master still on form. Result.

after my last review was not keen but been all done out now better menu went tonight for daughters birthday booked the table only yesterday 13 adults 3 kids nice long table friendly staff the food was really quick coming out after ordering nice and hot, prices average lovely and stylish the play area is ok but nothing for under 3s which is a real shame a small slide would be great everyone enjoyed it thanks there was even a quiz starting as we left as well so well done hobs meadow

Went to opening night with a party of 11. What a great improvement. Clean fresh and welcoming. The new manager is a lovely man and I wish him every success as he settles into the pub. Few teething problems only to be expected. Its fantastic to have a local back

Now charging customers to park...nice to see the local community spirit is still alive and kicking! Come on.

Visited this newly refurbished pub and very impressed with the refurbishment which is a great improvement.Found the new menu to be slightly expensive, so probably would not go regularly and only for a treat, I do not know if they do any offers on a weekday.Had a Sunday lunch which i found to be of very good quality if slightly warm, but meal was replaced promptly and of a very good standard.

I am a local person and thought I would give this a try as I was aware it gad been refurbished with new staff etc. My experience was not goid and it had nothing to do with the food or the state of the pace which was misery, friendly and clean.So firstly we arrived and it became apparent that you had to pay for parking. This was not amusing to me but antway got out and started walking to the pub and was met by a person sat down at an outside table who said I would get the parking refunded when we purchased a meal. That made me a little happier. He also announced he was the deputy manager so it was quite personal and nice. Anyway went to order and the guy was a little confused but I put it down to new staff so wasn't too bothered .Anyway we waited and waited for an age for the main courses to come and it was not super busy for food orders. Not impressed at all. The kids were getting restless and so were we. I went twice to ask where our food was and got the standard response of we will check with the kitchen staff. This made no difference and nobody tried to appease us. Were just left to wait longer. It was unacceptable because we could have been made happy with an apology but none came.Eventually we didn't even wait for the kids ice cream as even this could not come put in a timely manner. It is ice cream!!!! I told the girl we were leaving and she just said oh right ok Bad experience and not going back just due to bad service.

Took family, including three adults and three kids, for meal following the re-opening this weekend (sept 2016), however despite apparently spending considerable amount of ££ on the renovation of the pub/restaurant, it is remarkably similar to pre renovation. New wallpaper and carpets and slightly improved outdoor area, it seems biggest spend was on the car park out the front which now has parking meters (all parking charges are refunded when using the pub/restaurant). We are local to this establishment and are frequent visitors, however we very rarely have food here as we have always been disappointed, usually sticking to some starters as a snack to accompany our beverages whilst the children played outside....so we were really hoping that not only was it the pub to have a make over but they would also be replacing the menu and chefs.....unfortunately, whilst the menu has changed the quality hasn't. It is not bad food, but it isn't nice either, just mediocre. Certainly not worth the significant increase in price. Pre renovation the pub offered a £2, £4 £6 £8 menu so you expected the food to be pretty average. They now offer a slightly more modern up to date menu, with a significant increase in price, however the food has maintained its average (at best) quality. The bar staff confirmed that the kitchen team has not changed other than a new manager therefore it is no surprise the food is still just about average. We had (adults), starters - devil white bait and charcuterie sharing board. Sunday dinner (pork), chicken burger and rump steak. The white bait was actually nice albeit very overdone. The sharing board was dreadful, with 6 pieces of various Italian dried meats, very small dish of olives and bread with olive and balsamic. It sounded lovely on menu, and is a typical starter that my wife and I favour, however we have paid a lot less at bigger retaurants and had much more enjoyable experiences. It was probably just enough for one starter. Chicken burger was very greasy, steak was ordered medium rare, delivered by waitress as " here's your well done steak" which described it perfectly - it was cremated on outside, albeit (about) medium on inside, just very dry. The pork roast was ok, apparently slow roasted as no crackling available, but didn't taste anything other than average normal cheap pub Sunday roast.. Usual veg, together with cremated Yorkshire pudding. In summary we will go again as it is local, but not for food. It is overpriced and very average at best and has not improved in quality from the 2468 menu.....which you expected to be average for he price. It is opening weekend so may well improve, however on basis the kithcen in essence hasn't changed then doubt the quality will. Real shame as we so wanted the food to have improved.....

We went here just to see what it was like ..as it had a recent re vamp.... its a lovely stylish pub done out really nice ... food was also good ... We were asked twice if we were ready for our desserts to come out ...but we hadn't even had our mains ... but the staff were polite ... so we probably will return.

Visit made for my wife's birthday, waited over an hour before our food came to the table and when it did arrive the food was cold. Steak should of been medium came out very very well done & very dry and the portion of chips looked like they had been thrown on the plate from a great height missing the plate, 8 in total, this is not what i class as a portion. Very disappointed as they have only been open a few days.

Went along to see this newly launched pub. So glad to see such a bright and enthusiastic to providing good food in an attractive setting. Just a good place to visit for a drink with perhaps a snack or for a meal. Really pleasant staff who made us feel very welcome and who wanted to provide a high standard of service. So well done and with their positive attitude they deserve to be a success.

Been into the Hobs on day one of opening the place looks amazing the staff so friendly and helpful food is 1000% better than what they served before this is now our new local

We went as a group of friends , some with children . The staff are very friendly and attentive !! Great selection on the menu , something to suit all tastes and budgets ! Nice beer garden with play area ! Will definitely be returning in the future .

I come from a large irish family and we have used this pub for years,which seemed to increase over time as the food quality improved then on our last visit about two months ago,we went to order our T bone steaks only to find they no longer do them !!.we attempted to order two more dishes but alas no joy as there was only three other couples in at the time,we realized the menu was now very poor so left and went in search of quality food,which we soon found,farewell hobs meadow the way you are now I feel you are heading for closure as we and many more stop using this once good venue.

They don't offer fine and fancy grub at the Hobs Meadow, and if that is what your palette craves you'd be best looking elsewhere for it, but what they give you is value for money hearty portions of good, honest fare.We popped in for what we assumed would be a quick lunchtime snack, nachos for me, a jacket potato for my wife, and from the children's menu fish and chips and lasagne, yet the meals were much larger than we anticipated and they ended up becoming our main meals of the day, and all this plus a round of drinks for under £30.The staff were also very friendly, helpful and efficient.Yes it is all very cheap and cheerful, and what they do is only good bar food, but they do it very well, and as a local I shall definitely be going back.

I discovered the 2-4-6-8 pub chain last year in Ledbury, when I had fish, chips and peas for £2, so I thought I'd try my local one, in Solihull. It needs a name change now as you can't eat for £2 any more. I had my heart set on the fajitas, which used to be on the £4 menu. OK, so they're now £6, but I bet they're £15 in TGIs. What surprised me was the quality when the meal arrived. You could hear the chicken sizzling the length of the room and it was as good as you could get anywhere. I didn't get guacamole but sour cream is my favourite anyway. My dining companion enjoyed her wholetail scampi too. Doom Bar to wash it down made it a faultless lunch experience!

Awful, menu has been changed so expected it to be alot better than my Last visit in November(which I was also disappointed with, but knowing its just bog standard frozen you know what your getting) literally thrown on plate, overcooked. Will not be going again.

Jacket potato with cheese ,beans and side salad, £4 very good value. Good service very pleasant staff. My friends and I go every few weeks.
