Ho Wong in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Not allergy safe. Before asking we asked about allergens due to a sesame allergy and was told theres no sesame in anything we wanted to order. Midway through dinner I had to stop eating due to an allergic reaction to the food.

Picked this place last minute to order a Chinese.. unfortunately my daughter cant have much due to intolerances so had sweet and sour unbattered chicken and the sauce was like water, she didn't like it at all.. but the sweet and sour chicken balls for us came with a thick sauce so don't understand why that was different? We had satay skewers, egg friend rice, chicken in a bbq sauce, king prawn chow mein. Chips etc.. all the food was tasty, we enjoyed it.. chicken balls were very nice! We would definitely use here again if we visited the area..

What a mistake I will never eat from here again, all the food was really greasy and over cooked.

Friendly service, fantastic food, big portions which are super tasty. Best Chinese food in the whole of UK. Egg fried rice is divine! As well as the sweet&sour sauce with the pork bites. Absolutely LOVE this place !

Very pleasant lady when I collected. Polite and friendly. However, incredibly disappointed with food. Tiny portions compared to their competitors. Food was astonishingly bland. Seemed to be cooked in a weird grey gravy rather than traditional Cantonese “take away” style sauces. Little or no garlic, ginger, soy, chili, sesame , 5 spice or other simple classic Chinese flavours evident. Temperature of food varied throughout the container too. Seemed like it had been microwaved maybe. We tried this place as a change from Top Diner. Needless to say we will revert back to our regular. In summary, probably the worst Chinese takeaway we’ve ever had.

Probably the worst takeaway I have ever had. We Ordered beef and black bean and a beef in garlic sauce. I honestly cannot tell you which was which - it was so bland, the beef tasted like it was boiled and both tasted the same. We also ordered the deep fried spicy chicken (large) and stir fried chicken. The large wasn’t large, it was over cooked dry crunchy chicken on a bed of lettuce?!!) and the stir fried chicken was DRY FRIED CHICKEN SKINS?!? It was terrible. Never again.

We popped in to get a last minute dinner on the way home and decided to give Ho Wong a try. It was excellent and really was well done Chinese! We have eaten here in the past and never fails to be be the best we’ve had to date! Love eating here

Used to be good food from here but it’s gone down hill. Last nights noodles were chopped up like for kids and the place doesn’t do prawn crackers anymore not even to purchase. All sauces on dishes seem the same. Need to find a new Chinese.

Best Chinese Takeaway in the area! (I lived next door for 10 years, so you might say I was a regular!) :)

Spent 45 pounds here to get 12 pounds of food missing or wrong. Their answer is to call us back or money off next time, which we never get. Who wants to leave their home and return to cold food?? Used this plade a few times and they cant seem to get things right. Pork instead of chicken. Half a meal and items completely missing. Wont be returning.

Just moved here, Asked for tofu with chilli and garlic, wasn’t on menu, did it with no issues. Had seaweed for side. Gorgeous service and gorgeous food. Fri/sat night repeat take away sorted. That seaweed is stunning

Always had a cracking Chinese from here. Even the set meals are great value for money. Decent portions.

Went here cos other Chinese, people were cuing and i wish i hadnt have bothered the food had no taste curry had more veg than meat and wasnt worth the money the ambiance of the place is poor needs to be redecorated and cleaned its shame as in a key location.

Ordered food for 3 people and when we arrived home in Downham Market less that a five minute drive home our food was cold. Not only was the food cold the vegetables in the beef with vegetable haven’t even looked at a wok let along been cooked in one . It was 3/4 full of cold raw vegetables and the broccoli was on the verge of being off . Not only that but the chicken satay we ordered was a different dish altogether and not chicken satay . We were one rice dish missing and a curry sauce missing from the order too . And to think we waited nearly an hour for this food. On calling the HO WONG to say we were dishes missing we got no apology just told to come back and they would give it to us later . What’s the point of getting it later on once we had the rest of the meal that was already cold waiting for us . We had paid for these dishes too and no refund offered . All in all such a disappointment both with the quality of food and the customer service . We won’t be returning there again.

Prawn cocktail was nice but the meal was let down by serving pre cooked and reheated chips, very disappointed

Great Chinese, food was really hot and good quality as a product would recommend! However spent nearly £40 and did not receive any prawn crackers which I would have expected. Overall great would buy again!

I was told about Ho Wong And had a party of two others to buy for we each put order on a list i then called read from the list and the order came to £25.90. Apon collection and getting home to share the food we found parts of our order missing when we called up to tell them we were told we did not order the missing food we had paid for....I was thoroghly disapointed to the fact ive never wrote a review until now DONT USE HO WONG there a rip off and rude to boot mt rating....... - 5 stars

Allergies and intolerance not catered for and not helpful at all when trying to order gluten free, so had to leave without anything.

Friendly service but the meal wasn’t all that great chow-main wasn't great sauce tasted funny and very watery and just wasn’t like your regular Dish ! Have to say the only nice thing we’re the chicken balls 😔

Quite easily the worst chinese takeaway I have ever had the misfortune to buy. As a regular (once every two months) customer of Top Dinner in Downham I thought I should treat the family to a different chinese takeaway and more particularly Ho Wong. My initial impression of Ho Wong was that it looked dirty and subsequently I have found out it is as far as the hygene ratings are concerned. My next was the food (such as it was) was already prepared and waiting even though i was ten minutes early. The drive home to Nordelph suggested the food was not the usual fare - the smell was odd and quite of putting which given I was looking forward to this meal was peculiar. Once home the real diappointment began. The food was half the quantities of Top Dinner all seved in the small plastic pots so favoured by penny pinching chinese takeaways and where they thought that was being generous they half filled the same pots with chopped lettuce. I kid you not. In some pots there was so little of what you had paid for as to be almost funny. The food was disgusting - the chicken smelt off, the prawns were like bullets and the other dishes were bulked out with sliced carrots. Truly appalling. If I lived closer I would have took it all back. AVOID at ALL COSTS.

Have not been to ho wong for 6 months.stop going because food was inconsistent in taste. and way it was cooked .so tonight I thought I try again thinking perhaps it had improved .not a chance.the food was bland and over cooked.not again.👎

Fave chinese - going to miss this place!

The food is terrible. I had my first meal from Ho Wong around 18 months ago and was bitterly disappointed. I went a second time around a week ago having forgotten about my first experience and things have not improved! It tasted so foul I considered calling and asking for my money back... and I've never made a single complaint against a food establishment in my entire life. Save your money and go to Top Dinner instead; you might even be able to finish your dinner. I won't be caught out a third time by Ho Wong! 1/5.

My partner got food poisoning after having a Chinese here on Thursday night. Such a shame as it was our favourite Chinese.

Awful. We ordered nearly £80 worth of food for a large party. The prawn dish had frozen prawns and we had to put it in the microwave, the chips were oven chips not deep fried, the food was mediocre at best.
