Friendly staff who were very helpful in pointing out which foods I could eat with my low fodmap dietary requirements (requesting no garlic and onion). The Cantonese roast duck brought back wonderful memories of my time as a student in Hong Kong. This is where to go in Brighton for authentic Hong Kong food.

Ordered their satay beef noodle soup, roast duck rice bowl, along with a plate of salt and chili squid as starter, just amazing!! Their homade chili is to die for too 😆 Prices are very decent, especially for students. The staffs are all very friendly too. Definitely coming back here again!

Really enjoyed my 2 dining experiences here. Staff are very friendly food is great. When I say great, more specifically I mean it is of the quality found in Asia which is hard to do in the UK. The price to match the quality is superb and I am a big fan of details such as the filtered water on tap and the setting within the sun what unconventional dining space. I would definitely come here with family friends or dates, however it would be complicated with a large group.

A very good restaurant, all the food ordered are delicious, the braised sauce is just right and salty, the frozen lemon tea is light but very refreshing, and I really like the pork rinds in the snack Sanbao. I thought the portion was quite large, but I was very hungry but couldn't finish it and took it away. The proprietress is very enthusiastic and will come back to eat if there is a chance. btw I ordered car noodles and my friend had beef brisket rice!

My go to place for a tasty and well priced Chinese meal in Brighton. Portions are generous and tasty. Beef brisket over rice one of my all time favourites. Owner lady is always cheerful and welcoming.

The most authentic eatery of any type I’ve eaten in for some time. I had the wonton egg noodle soup, superb. If I lived closer, I might be here most days

Felt welcomed upon arrival, didn't wait long for food. Ordered the beef brisket and tendon with rice, generous portion at an affordable price. Not to mention the juice/sauce that came with the beef, so flavoursome🤌🏼 (yum yum yum)!! Having tried the other Hong Kong restaurant nearby as well, would deffo come back to this place! 加油👏🏼

Great little HK style Chinese. Well staffed, friendly greetings and spotlessly clean. Prices reasonable, food excellent. This is how food was in the better London Restaurants in Chinatown in the 1990s. No more schlepping into London, HK Diner does it for me. Informal, busy and buzzy. We will be back soon! Thank you.

Most amazing chicken wings ever crispy and juicy even when ordering. My fabourite is the cantonese duck with rice as the portion is so good all the time. This is my favourite place to eat in Brighton for so many reasons. I always order from them as I live kind of far to just go eat there but I have once and they were so friendly offering to make my partner stuff that wasn't even on the menu. It is great priced and the actual food is some of the best I've had. LOVE this place with all my heart haha

This is fantastic authentic Hong Kong food. If you’ve been to HK and experienced the culinary delights of the eateries around Kowloon, then you’ll know what to expect. If you haven’t, don’t expect your traditional anglicised Chinese food - this is more exciting, experimental and, in my opinion, much nicer. Give it a go. At prices like this, why not.

The single best Hong Kong food joint in Brighton. The chefs know the food inside out and the staff make you feel like you’ve just arrived home in time for dinner. The beef brisket and wanton lo mein is the best I’ve ever had and I’m from Singapore!

My mum really rated this place and I thought I have to give it a go. Whilst there are lots of Chinese restaurants around, not many specialise in the food people from Hong Kong like to eat. Here at HK Place, the food is just like it is in Hong Kong. The taste, the quality and the atmosphere. Regarding those who moan about the service. It's not a silver service, or click your fingers at your server kind of restaurant. It's more like what you get in hawker markets and indoor hot food centres (usually in the same building as indoor markets) in Hong Kong. You order and pay, then the server brings the food to you. That's the culture and we don't think there's anything wrong with this. The food is excellent and I recommend you try.

Normally enjoyed their food and fast service, but not yesterday. It was 1pm, the restaurant was empty. At least 4-5 staff around. Order wanton noodles for two of us and was kept waiting for 30 minutes or more. 1st plate arrived, but the second plate for my wife didn’t arrived. Had to get up and asked why and it was another 10 minutes before the second dish arrived. The wanton was nice but the noodles wasn’t as tasty as before. Probably won’t be going back there again after how we have been treated, going elsewhere.

You have to try this place! My family and I visited this restaurant and were blown away. Very friendly staff, very good service and food is cooked and prepared to a high standard. 👍🏽👍🏽Will definitely be returning.

This is the second time me and my partner have been to this absolute gem of a restaurant. In fact I was dreaming about having food here the entire day, remembering the first time we went, and just how good the food was. The staff are so lovely, friendly and helpful. Onto the food, all I can say is WOW! Absolutely delicious and full of flavour, their home made chilli sauce is to die for! I had the Roast Duck Soup Noodles and my partner had the Beef Brisket in Sauce over Rice-both dishes were delicious and full of flavour. I'm always partial to food from Asia, food from this continent is the best in the world-hands down! They know about flavour, what to do with the food, what to serve with it, and HK Place most certainly didn't disappoint. I enjoyed every single mouthful, as did my partner and we'll definitely be back here again. This restaurant is like a hidden gem of Preston Street, I can see where those that are familiar with the cuisine of Hong Kong give this restaurant so much praise. I may not know anything about the cuisine of Hong Kong, but tasting this food, I could tell that the quality, and taste was superb. Also when we left, the lovely ladies at the front asked us how the meal was, we told them it was great and they thanked us. Excellent customer service and food-what are you waiting for? Go there already!

Dropped in for noodles mid-week. I went for beef brisket egg noodles, Mrs. S, the flat rice noodles with wonton. Neither of us was disappointed - good size portions (they certainly didn't scrimp on the brisket). Tasty and quick. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. This will definitely be a regular 'drop in' place for us whenever we are in Brighton.

Delicious food and friendly staff. We had a great meal here. Its a byo too & if you do there is a small cover charge. We had Korean gochulang chilli wings, Lo Mein & stir fry King prawns in XO sauce (spicy). Abbie (I think I remembered her name correctly..sorry if not!) Was so lovely, she popped over for a chat & checking we enjoyed the food. We will be back & have already recommended to friends.

I love this place, both for its very polite and quick staff and its really good food. I would definitely recommend the soups, the one with vermicelli noodles, satay beef and the plain broth is a winter staple you need to try.

Very tasty, good portions, plenty to choose from the menu, and it feels more authentic than the average Asian take away. A new favourite! I recommend the beef brisket curry.

Nice experience! A Hong Kong styled restaurant, great quality food in here. But some of them are expensive, for example~豬皮蘿蔔魚蛋 is the signature street food in Hong Kong but it sells £7.20. But u can try if u want to try some HK-styled food in here, such a great restaurant as well!

I've been ordering via Deliveroo and every time the food arrived so fast (usually within 20 minutes from placing the order), piping hot and well packaged. I've got only praise words for this place! I love the food diversity, everything I've tried so far was delicious! Big thumbs up from me! Keep up the great work! 🙌👏 I will be ordering regularly, for sure! 😋

It was a great satisfactory surprise to dine in this nostalgic Hong Kong cafe in Brighton. You can find extremely authentic Hong Kong cafe food there from drinks like Hong Kong milk tea, HK lemon ice tea, to street food like curry three treasure, garlic crispy wings to quality home-made Cantonese style wonton and stir fries. They are all cooked well. In my order, the wings are crispy but not dry ; the beef hofun is so good that the beef fillets are thinly cut and tender, noodle isn't as greasy as many Chinese eateries, garnished with generous amount of beanspourt which are just crunchy yet not raw; their wontons are nicely wrapped and pleated in gold fish shape with tails, am fussy about wonton ingredient, theirs did not disappoint me at all, nice prawn flavour wit a hint of sesame favour (sorry, too hungry, forgotten to take picture of wontons). I must admit, their beef briskets must have been braised for hours, they are succulent in mouth. I would appraise to all the young chefs at the front kitchen & the friendly staff. If you're hkers and able to read traditional Chinese, when you adjourn to the basement washroom, take a look of the slogans on the wall, it put a smile on my face with the witty philosophy. Amazing Cantonese play on words. I love this little gem...two 👍👍 up. HK-place keep it up . Wish you can open one in London 💪

Amazing small Hong Kong style shop! We found the authentic HK street foods there. Delicious food, nice staff, clean environment. 吃過他家的車仔麵和干炒午河，感受到香港的味道，滷水豬大腸比香港食過的還要好味，還有不油膩的午河，不可或缺的辣椒油，加上港式凍檸茶凍奶茶，實在是醫治思鄉病的良藥。

everyone in here is true foody, big time. cooks are constantly fishing too. the sea is right there in the doorstep, loads of opportunities and they are loving it. food is always good, family atmosphere, killer Chilli sauce, no wok because no gas only electricity but no matter. so then a really hard task: frying oysters (for themselves and for me only) , absolutely perfectly. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 i used to eat here every day...when im nervous i go for that tea. thanks

I was very nostalgic for Asian food and home, and their menu caught my attention. I am so happy we decided to try their food; the waiters were so welcoming and friendly, and served us such healing Hong Kong dishes. Our first time we tried their noodles, and we were not disappointed. The next time we tried their rice, which helped me overcome my homesickness. Their mapo tofu is a bit sweeter than I would've liked, but it was still an amazing experience. I'm salivating just at the thought of their food. I don't know how authentic their food is, I'm assuming they might have modified it to suit British tastes, but it's such a hidden gem of Brighton that I strongly recommend! They have clean outdoor dining, and their prices are acceptable for Brighton. I also recommend trying their milk tea.

I grew up in Hong Kong and so rarely buy Chinese take always in UK. However, a friend recommended HK Place. The food was amazing!! The beef brisket tasted very authentic, soft and tender! Pak Choi well cooked, noodles perfect- not greasy and the chicken...

Locate amongst a lot of other eateries so competition is fierce but this food joint did not disappoint. Staff host an excellent service, attentive and friendly. The food was fab, it reminds me a lot of my home. It is also very popular with a lot of locals buying from it. Definitely come here again if I come to Brighton again. Very well done, keep up the good work.

Have eaten here and had a take away from here and we were very impressed both times. The menu offers some different dishes to the average Chinese and each dish was packed with flavour and not greasy. We loved the spicy chicken wings, XO noodles...

This is definitely the best Cantonese food I ever had in the UK. For first time customers, strongly recommend 'Kart Noodle', any single item inside the dish is flavoury (taste from a typical citizen of China Guangdong Province).

I don't normally bother with reviews but this place is 1 of the best restaurants in Brighton. Reasonable prices and good food. I happened to visit every day for my dinner just because I work late and lazy to cook myself. Food are delicious, staff are friendly, the place is very cosy itself. And today 1 of the chef just gave me a massive free waffle because I visited every day lol

Gorgeous super yummy food, the home made chilli oil is not for the faint hearted, if you have guts built like a builder you’ll love it....aside from joking about the hot chilli oil it really is super yummy and cooked in minutes. Lovely friendly lady that you can have a laugh with as she’s serving too! Thank you 😍 (oh and it’s a bargain under £20 for lunch and drinks for myself and my daughter)

Ordered beef brisket noodle soup with rice noodles and Szechuan chilli sauce. I’d rate this dish 6/5 if I could, it’s the closest to authentic beef brisket noodle soup and I’d say the best Chinese/HongKong/Taiwanese restaurant I’ve ever been in Brighton so far. The chilli wasn’t as spicy as I thought it would be but spicy enough to make my stomach still churn hours later (no regret!) Place was clean and tidy, staff were very friendly too.

Just the Hong Kong taste I crave for. HK style milk tea - so authentic that I had two cups (lunch and dinner separately). I think this is the only place that does the HK style noodles in England. What’s more, all staff are extremely nice and make you feel so welcomed. Would be my must-go every time visiting Brighton.

My friends and I had late lunch here last weekend. The place is clean. The staf are friendly. I love spicy chicken wings. Delicious. The noodle soup?? Hmm its big portion. I guess next time i must share with my friends. Flat noodle also good. My friends said it was delicious. Slice beef also yummy. One of my friends is repeater guests here, so i guess we not choose wrong place for chit chat, eat or snacking. Will come back here when I visit Brighton. Its just few minutes walk from i360 so very convenient for us.
